Oxygen theme in KDE 4.6 RC1 doesn't work

I just updated my KDE to 4.6 RC1 and found this as the snapshot shows: http://min.us/mvjgD91
I think I've installed all the theme packages.And I also noticed that other themes like CLEARLOOK work fine.

It's worked well here. Maybe what you mean is "preview" for all styles that doesn't work

I tried it, but couldn't get it to work. I think I had trouble with the Rule. I put a Rule in as follows: Data added in the last five hours? I added music (data) but nothing appeared in my Smart Playlist. Oh yes - I named the playlist: Recently Added.

[SOLVED] KDE Start New Session doesn't work from lock screen

On my laptop, if I lock the KDE 4 session and then click Switch Users > Start New Session, I get a login screen and can log in as a different user. All good.
If I do the same thing on my desktop, it doesn't work. When I click Switch Users > Start New Session, it doesn't start a new session or switch VTs. Instead, I just get reprompted for the existing user's password.
Both machines are running fully updated Arch. Anyone know how I can troubleshoot this? The only difference I can think of between the laptop and desktop is that the desktop has nomodeset specified as a kernel boot parameter. (It won't boot without it.) Could this be interfering with automatic VT switching? Manual VT switching (e.g. Ctrl+Alt+F1) works fine.

Little more detail. Checking the journal, I can see Xorg is failing to start on display :1. If I compare Xorg.0.log with Xorg.1.log, it appears that it's not finding the proprietary NVIDIA driver in the second case. Don't know why it would be any different for :1, though. See?

Any idea what would cause it to work for :0 but fail for :1?

How do I get the Linux version of Firefox to allow me to download mp3 files instead of playing them in Firefox (the windoze solution doesn't work for Linux)?

I've tried to modify a couple of "media" settings in about:config, but it still plays mp3s instead of allowing me to save them. In applications, mp3 audio is set to "Always ask".

Did this behavior change after an update, or has it continued for several Firefox versions?
Is there a visible player? If so, can you right-click it and see whether you get a plugin menu or a standard Firefox context menu?
For some plugins, there is a separate configuration dialog to indicate which kinds of content they will handle (I recall QuickTime having such a dialog).

[SOLVED] KDE issues (takes 10 minutes to start, oxygen theme)

Hi everyone,
after today's update, KDE is taking about 10 minutes to fully start (instead of 5 seconds - i have an SSD), about 3-4 minutes to get over the splash screen,
then 3-4 minutes black desktop, and then slowly the taskbar, then the icons on systray and so on.
First i thought the changes with the "filesystem" package totally broke KDE, but no, it starts if i wait... the CPU, HDD are on idle, i have no idea what is waiting for
so long, also i have no idea what to check in which logs ... help is appreciated or any idea where i could start checking.
Also the oxygen theme is gone from GTK apps, like firefox, i have the ugly old gtk style ... (like here http://www.gefoo.org/generalfoo/uploads … 4.8.1.png)

i did the
pacman -Rn oxygen-gtk2 oxygen-gtk3
pacman -S oxygen-gtk2 oxygen-gtk3
restarted firefox, nothing ... after reboot however it's ok now, all gtk apps have the oxygen style (probably something wasn't updated with the oxygen package update ... who knows).
About KDE i suspected it's the Network manager to blame since i noticed later that it was completely missing, so i removed and installed again, rebooted but still the same 10 minutes untill kde loads ...
then i remembered that i renamed the /sbin to /sbin.old and the /usr/sbin to /usr/sbin.old because there ware some files in it before the update, despite
$ pacman -Qqo /bin /sbin /usr/sbin | pacman -Qm -
telling me that no one uses those folders, the following files ware left in them:

I marked the topic as solved, but i have no idea which of these files caused the issue. The only single one that was of these present in the new usr/bin was the NetworkManager, which i reinstalled as I mentioned already ... so, i have no clue why, but it's working fine now ...
[strike]edit: i wanted to ask, which package contains the poweroff, reboot, etc. commands? since those ware left in the old sbin and pacman didn't know of any package containing them.[/strike]

Transmission-qt doesn't use the oxygen theme

I've installed transmission-qt and it's not using the oxygen theme.
Running qtconfig gives the error:

Thanks! That worked but not for transmission.
If you check dependancies, you'llnotice that transmission-qt uses qt5 now. Oxygen theme that's part of kde4 is built on top of qt4, and available only for qt4 apps. Qt5 version of Oxygen style will be avaliable when kde5 comes out.
So isn't there a way to force it to use qt4?

Hi.
I searched for this problem but can't find any solution that works for me.
Have been using Arch since years, but never had this problem.
I did a fresh install few days ago. I installed KDE, but only minimal packages to work. Everything seems work ok but Device Notifier doesn't work in any way. It doesn't detects USB nor CD/DVD, but system does and I can mount USB pendrive manually, for example, using pmount.
Any help will be appreciated.

Yes, I have dbus in my DAEMONS array in rc.conf:

As mann138 said, my system recognizes all pendrives but Device Notification doesn't.
I can mount them and automount rule works perfect, but no notifications.

If you just got your new MBP you have phone support from Apple (which is quite good) call them. 800-692-7753 tell the automated answerer "mail technical support" you'll have human quite quickly. Hope this helps.

icloud just keeps bringing up my old email address & asking for my old password which doesn't exist anymore and when I try to sign out of icloud it wants my old password, when I tried to change my primary email back to the old one it wants me to verify it through an email address that doesn't exist. Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you updated your Apple Id and password but now you are being prompted for the old information in iCloud. You are on the right track by changing the Apple ID back to the previous email address temporarily so that you can sign out. You should not need to verify the email address. After you edit the Apple ID back to the old email address and then sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, edit the Apple ID back to the address you would currently like to use. There is no need to change the password again, only the email address, unless you prefer to update the password again.
If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud - Apple Support
Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Tap Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Sign Out, then tap Sign Out to confirm. If you're using iOS 7 or earlier, tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap Keep on My [Device] or Delete from My [Device]. In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.

Thanks, but, using the "free" version of Reader, there is no opportunity to open nor import the xml data - the menu options do not exist - there is no import listed.
If we try to open the xml file directly, then we get an error - something to the effect of "unsupported file type, or the file is corrupted".
I just noticed in my Pro version that there is the command File ->Form Data ->Import Data to Form... command. Is this what you are referring to?
What do you recommend? Perhaps the easiest thing to do would be to purchase a few copies of Acrobat Pro for the reservations people to use? I was hoping that the free version of reader would do it, but perhaps not?

The Videos are showed up front 4 months, but now they are no longer to be seen. When you star a video first the hard drive starts, but then it stops and hangs up. I have to restart it, starting with the apple logo....

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

My bookmarks disappear when I close Firefox. I can get them back by reloading them from a backup file but they disappear again when I restart Firefox. I've tried the "taskmanager, Process, Firefox.exe, stop process, and it doesn't work.

This occurs each time I start Firefox. The bookmarks work OK while I am using Firefox and you can add to them and save them to a HTM file. The html doesn't work for backup. When you go to organize bookmarks and try the restore function, as in "Restore Sunday October 24, 2010" you get the following error message '''''Unable to process the backup file."

Putting the second suggestion at Stack Overflow into the in-line CSS seems to have done the trick.

There is still an issue that when a link is selected it show the same behaviour but that's more liveable with and I haven't given up hope of finding the class which is causing it.
The JQM guys look like they have a solution too but I couldn't work out which version it would be applied to.
