Oxygene Import folder bug re-appears with DVDSP 4

I thought this was a thing of the past but it has re-appeared again but this time, the original workaround will not work. See this post for that:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1276701&tstart=0
This time around, the fix referenced above not only doesn't get rid of the folders, but removes the DVDSP menu bar at the top of the screen, requiring a keyboard command quit.
The original problem is this: When launching DVDSP, two identical folders titles "MultiMediaImporter.oxygene" appear in the dock, and continue to bounce for about 25 seconds. They cannot be closed or removed from the dock as long as DVDSP is running. There seems to be no effect of functioning in the app, it is simply annoying. In my case, I have a full dock as it is, and adding two more folders pushes everything off screen.
This is the latest version of FCS with all updates. I've done the usual pref trashing and etc.

I had been searching for a solution for this for a long time - This worked like a charm!!
To reiterate:
Problem: upon launching DVD Studio Pro two generic folder icons representing multimediaimporter.oxygene also 'launch'.
Solution:
Start DVD Studio Pro. Right-click on one of the 'multimediaimporter.oxygene' folders in the Dock and select 'Show in Finder'. Quit DVD Studio Pro now. Back in Finder navigate to the 'Contents' folder of 'multimediaimporter.oxygene' and back-up the existing 'Info.plist' by selecting File > Duplicate in Finder. Now open 'Info.plist' in TextEdit. After the 5th line ("<dict">) add two lines:
<key>NSUIElement</key>
<string>1</string>
You can also add a tab at the beginning of the line for formatting . Save the changes and relaunch DVD Studio Pro for all you authoring needs.
NOTE go to the 'Contents' folder that is inside the 'multimediaimporter.oxygene' folder (not the 'Contents' folder that the 'multimediaimporter.oxygene' is in.

  • Import folder bug

    Hi
I am importing to Pictures/2010/date of shot
If viewed in explorer everything is fine. It created the correct subfolders and moved the pictures into it.
However, in the folder structure in the Library panel the new folders are located at the root of the folder structure, and they obviously cant be moved because they actually are already there.
Is this bug still not corrected or am I missing something?
How do I get to show the Library the correct folder structure without always having to delete, resync ...?
    Franz

You can drag each of the top four folders into the 2010 folder with 88 items.
LR will then move them on the hard drive.
You will see something like this (Click image) and all you have to do is click move to confirm.

  • Import Folder Does Not Appear

I have just created a new user account on my Mac (because of a keychain issue that I couldn't resolve) and am trying to import the mailboxes over from my old user account. I moved all the mailboxes from within olduser/library/mail/mailboxes to newuser/public/dropbox. When I login as newuser I can see them there in the finder (with a red 'no access' sign). I open mail and import mailboxes from 'Mail for OSX' adn select the dropbox. I get a list of all the mailboxes (ticked). I click continue and get a message saying "You can find the imported mailboxes in a folder named "import" in the mailboxes list". But No such folder is to be seen.
    Any one have any suggestions?

    Hi Tom,
I think you've got an easy Fix here...
In the Finder, do a Get info on those/that Folder, then look at the bottom of that window for Ownership & Perissions, expand the Details triangle, unlock the Lock, then change the Owner to the New You with R&W privileges, hit the Apply to enclosed item... try to Import again!

Photos that were synced from a computer won't show for copying to a computer. If you want to copy them back then you will need a third-party app on your phone such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to a device, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer (e.g. their dimensions might be different and their colours may look a bit different).

  • New applications appear with .app in Applications folder

transparency is good, what's happened here?
    thx kindly

Finder -> Preferences -> Advanced and uncheck the box at 'Show Filename Extensions'.

When the same text is view in another browsers it appears correctly as "two/".
I've checked, and the same problem appears in Firefox on another computer.
The two answers received so far have not provided an answer: is this a known bug in Firefox?
    Thank you.

You are on a Mac and that is a [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kerning kerning] problem. Don't you see the same problem in other applications if you choose the same font, font-weight and font-size.
I only find one other kerning [https://support.mozilla.com/questions/789254 question] here -- it is marked unsolved. I find it strange that Firefox got involved with this at all rather than leaving such things to the operating system and font metrics.
Does the problem go away with "command+0" (zero) which resets [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Zoom_text_of_web_pages zoom level] to normal. If you mess with the font sizes in your preferences because you want larger print that would have the same effect.
Also found this one recently reported for [https://support.mozilla.com/questions/892222 Firefox 7 in ubuntu 11.04] which appears much worse. If it involves Firefox and specific operating systems it becomes a lot harder to diagnose who or what is responsible.

  • Imported CD's not appearing in itunes

i have iTunes installed on a windows laptop, the iTunes library is located on an external HDD, I can import songs from HDD to library no problem, but what I cannot do is import CDs . I import as directed and it says it has imported , the track list appears and so does artwork in recently added , but next to the tracks a ! Appears when I click it asks to locate track ? I look into the HDD to see if its there but no folder /file is created , I've searched all folders both pc and HDD but no trace of songs /album can be found.
itunes match is off, genius off, I've logged in /out , rebuilt library twice but still I cannot import new cd music ?
DOes anyone have the solution ? I've been thru the forum and found lots of conflicting answers but nothing concrete

Select a song from the recently-imported CD (with "!" next to it), right-click and select Get-Info.  iTunes will respond with a dialog like this:
Click No (there seems to be a bug in iTunes 12.0.1.26 as you actually have to click No twice).  When the song info editor opens, select the File tab (iTunes 12) or Summary tab (iTunes 11).  You should see the file location looking something like this:
    in iTunes 12, or this:
in iTunes 11.  What is shown after "file://localhost/" in your case (i.e., the equivalent of "K:\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music\Adagio Blue\Ordovician Fission\01 Glaciate.mp3" in this example)?  This will tell you the media file location that iTunes has in its database - i.e., where iTunes "thinks" the file is.
Report back what you find and we'll go from there ...

  • Missing "Import" folder in iPhoto

A few weeks ago a pop up in iPhoto appeared saying "....photos have been found, import?" and I followed the steps through other posts to finding the import folder, moving it to desktop etc.
again this pop up is appearing except I can no longer find the import folder because I must have deleted it back when I did this the first time...
    any suggestions?!
    please help!

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It makes no changes to your data.
Please triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
find Pi* -type d -name *Import -ls | pbcopy
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing the key combination command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear below what you entered.
The output of the command will be automatically copied to the Clipboard. If the command produced no output, the Clipboard will be empty. Paste into a reply to this message.
The Terminal window doesn't show the output. Please don't copy anything from there.
If any personal information appears in the output, anonymize before posting, but don’t remove the context.

  • How do I get photos from the iPhoto import folder to the iPhoto library?  It uploaded, but hung while deleting from my camera, so no imported photos are in the iPhoto library.

How do I get photos from the iPhoto import folder to the iPhoto library?  It uploaded, but hung while deleting from my camera, so no imported photos are in the iPhoto library.  I watched it upload about 400 photos, one by one.  They're somewhere, but they don't appear in the iPhoto library. As iPhoto was deleting them from my camera, it got hung up, then a message came "you should eject before disconnecting a device."  I hadn't touched the camera.  The message came by itself.  I couldn't get iPhoto to respond, so I disconnected the camera and did a Force Quit.  Opening it back up, the pictures were gone.  Can somebody help me?

What version of iPhoto are you running?  Assuming it's iPhoto 9 or later Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Gmail Important folder not showing in Thunderbird

I am using a program called MailWasher (MW) to preview all the emails of six accounts. I have just had a case where it showed an email from Gmail, but when I did a Get Mail it did not appear.
Logging directly into Gmail I found that the message had been place in the Important folder. Doing a Reply in Gmail, again I saw an entry in MW but again, a Get Mail did not show anything.
Am I missing something here? I'm not sure just what rules Gmail is using to decide whether am email is 'Important' but I don't like the idea of Thunderbird not being able to display a message just because it seems to be put somewhere other than Inbox.

It's been a long time since I used gmail in anything other than IMAP, so I'm not sure what happens under POP.
Their operating principle with email is to label it, and then display it in the appropriate view. So mails tagged as "Important" will appear when you select ''Important'', which looks like a folder. In the IMAP world, a message labelled ''Important'' will appear both in its original folder (usually the Inbox) and in the ''Important'' folder. I'm surprised that yours appears to be ''moving'' messages.
Go to the gmail webpage and in your account settings, look for settings to manage these folders. I disable all the naff pre-categorization that google wants to do for me, such as Important and Social, Promotions, etc.

  • Folder does not appear in keynote on iPad after syncing

After syncing a keynote file through iTunes, it appears in iTunes on my mac book pro but the folder of imported files does not appear in keynote on my iPad. I have tried creating file names with no spaces and using .key suffix, no joy. any ideas?
    Thanks

you dont see that folder. It is a holding place for files. you import into the app using the "copy from itunes" command in the main file view of the app. (the little button that looks like an arrow pointing into an empty box will bring it up.)
Your just copying from that folder you see in itunes. I use it as a location to "back up" my work as well. just "send to itunes" and you have a copy of your current state in the folder.

  • Hello - I used a Sony DVD to burn 350 songs. When I put the DVD into another computer to rip those 350 songs, the 'import songs' button never appeared in the lower right hand corner of iTunes. What's preventing songs from being ripped?

Hello - I used a Sony DVD to burn 350 songs from my iTunes library to share with a friend. When I put the DVD into my friend's computer to rip those 350 songs, the 'import songs' button never appeared in the lower right hand corner of iTunes. Anybody know what's preventing me from ripping what's on the DVD?

When I put the DVD into my friend's computer to rip those 350 songs, the 'import songs' button never appeared in the lower right hand corner of iTunes.
The import command only works with audio CDs. So if you burned the files in mp3 format, try instead using the "File > Add file to library" or "File > Add folder to library" commands.

  • Develop settings lost after re-importing folder of DNG files

I've been using LR for several months, and - after getting accustomed to its peculiararities - love the program.
This evening I re-imported a folder of DNG files that I had previously removed from LR - using the "add" import option. When going to the Develop module, I noticed that my original develop settings were no longer applied.
Aren't these settings incorporated into the DNG files? How could they get lost? Are they over-written when re-importing the files?
I always backup my catalog before closing. Does the catalog backup contain the original develop settings for these DNG files?
I know I must have done something wrong! Please advise & explain. Thanks.

    Seven_D wrote:
Thanks. I do have autowrite to XMP checked. - I learned that lesson a few months ago!
I will see if I can use an older backup to recover the settings. I have never done that before, but I know where my catalog backups are located. If you can give some advice on that, I would appreciate it. I don't want to lose other DNG edits in the process.
Correct me if I'm wrong - but it appears that if I ever do want to remove a previously imported folder from LR for whatever reason - I should just edit the RAW files without converting to DNG. I know DNGs are more compact, but at least the sidecar files associated with the RAW files will always be there! This is more important to me than conserving disk space!
just try it on one or tow files to test. Also look at "Read Metadata from file" in the current catalog first with ine file to see if that helps. Did you have a Prest applied when importing like Zeroed?...... None is the best for importing files with dev settings already applied.
I use DNG exclusively and haven't experienced your issue so review your import settings as mentioned.

  • When I import TIF and JPG files with same metadata, only the TIF files are imported. How can I change that?

I have imported and renamed TIF and JPG files with the same metadata re recording date and time. Only the TIF files are imported, the JPG files remain unimproved. Thus I have in the Finder e. g. 13 image files in the same folder in which Lightroom only finds 10 files. Any ideas for resolution welcome!
    Thanks

Turn off the option Preferences > General > Treat JPEG Files Next To Raw Files As Separate Photos.  Then do an import again.  It appears that, in this instance, LR considers a TIFF to be a "raw" file.

  • ITunes does not want to import folder

    Hi there.
    Vista Prof with latest iTunes.
I lost my harddrive without any backups of the songs on my iPod. I have read a couple of replies to people with the same problem. One was to import the songs via the "Add folder to library" option. Before I chose this, I have managed to copy all the songs from my iPod (as an external drive) to my PC. I have ticked the option to also copy the songs to the iTunes library when importing folders.
    Problem:
Nothing happens when I choose "Add folder to library".
Am I doing something wrong or what else can I try?
    Thanx for your help.
    Deon

I am having this EXACT same problem.
I changed computers, copied all of my files onto my iPod, put them back onto the hard drive on the new computer and they simply WILL NOT import into iTunes. I've tried drag-and-drop, I've tried import folder and I've tried import file. Import file will work, but I'm literally having to add files one-by-one. It's an utterly maddening task, and it's one that has worked without fail for me in the past, so I'm tempted to blame Vista.
I too have my settings such that they will import/copy the files into the appropriate folders.
