P.A. System for Small Room

I have a MacBook Pro. A TubePRE pre-amp. And a couple of wireless Audio-Technica mics. I usually use a Heil PR40 for podcasts and Skype conferences. But I need to amplify my wife's voice a bit for a presentation she is doing next week. About 40 in attendance.
Any software or hardware amps come to mind? I have a pair of powered M-Audio monitors (small ones) that can be used. But what other items should I be thinking of? (Normally, the speaking sites have their own P.A. systems - so I'd rather not invest in one of those really cool podium-PA systems).
Thank you.

Call a local production company and rent a JBL EON. Since you live in Riverside I recommend Morningstar Productions (msmp.com) They're self powered, so you just plug the XLR from one of our wireless AT mics into the speaker, turn in on and adjust the volume. A single EON should work well in your situation.
Equipment needed- JBL EON, XLR cable and your AT wireless mic.

  • VOIP system for small company

Hi, I am planning to replace phone exchange, and thinking on something with VOIP system, my main requirements are:
    - 2 isdn lines for backup
    - 4 voip lines
    - up to 15 users
woud uc500 be a good solution or would you recommend anything else?
    Thanks

The UC540 would be perfect IMO. Find a good SIP provider and your only limited by bandwidth and the number of DID's and I guess DSP resources but at 15 users I wouldnt worry to much about that. CCA is much improved now compared to what it was a few years ago and you should be able to get it up and running pretty quickly. There are tons of resources under the technical enablement labs for the UC5xx/SBCS product line. We did a roadshow the last quarter of 2010 and used most of those labs (the ones in under the technical enablement labs page) to show partners all the ins and outs of the UC500 product line and I know during the ones I did I had a ton of Account Managers who felt confident enough to actually do the technical install of a basic system after a few days of training. Cisco is dedicated to making sure their partners and their customers have every tool possible to be successful so use them!

  • Format Error : mkfs.ocfs2 1.2.7 file system too small for a journal

    Hi All,
I am trying to implement Oracle 10g RAC on my laptop using vmware and openfiler software . But while executing the command
    #mkfs.ocfs2 -b 4K -C 32K -N 4 -L oracrsfiles /dev/iscsi/crs11/part1
    I am getting the error
Format Error : mkfs.ocfs2 1.2.7 file system too small for a journal
Please anybody can help me to resolve this problem.
    Thanks in Advance.

How large is the device that you are formatting?
The default journal size depends on the type specified. If none specified,
then it assumes "mail" which sets the default journal per slot to 256M.
If database type, default is 64M.
Use "-T database" to specify database type, etc.
BTW, one can always override the defaults. Say "-J size=16M" to make
    a smaller journal.
man mkfs.ocfs2 and the user's guide has more.

  • Please help with TV and home theater system for very large basement room....

I'm looking to get my boyfriend either a TV or home theater system for the basement.  I know he eventually wants a 3d TV.  Right now he has a set up where he has 2 tv's so he can play video games and watch sports.
The basement that the tv and home theater system will be in is large (I'd estimate at least 15 ft x 30 ft...maybe more) so I want to make sure the home theater system will be enough for the room.  We live in a ranch so basically the basement is almost the size of the house with some of it being storage.
I've started to look at products online but there are so many and technology isn't really my thing.
If anyone could help with recommendations for the home theater system and/or the tv I'd appreciate it!
    Thanks so so sooo much!!!!

What will he be using the HT system for?  Just watching sports or skipping the movie theater and watching them at home.   If you plan to watch them at home your going to be on a tight budget with the home theater system but it is possible.   Spend good money on the sub, that is one speaker you don't want to skimp out on.  With such a big space you have a lot of room to fill and the cheap subs aren't going to cut it.   You will probably need two subs as it is.  The speakers I recommend on a tight budget Polk or Klipsch.  My list includes a Denon receiver as I am a Denon fan but Yamaha, Onkyo, or Pioneer will suffice.
Here is a Option 1 will run you about 1700 with just one sub. You could always go up a model on each speaker if you feel the one sub is enough.  I like an explosion sounding like it happened in front of me so that is why I mention 2 subs.

  • Ideal lighting for Green Screen In un-ideal small room

What is the ideal lighting to be used for a small room that really was not intended for shooting video but I need to usee it beacuse it is all we have, I do not know the exact measurements off the top of my head but its probably 4-5 feet from the subject to the green screen (I know that is bad) and another 4-5 feet from the subject to the camera.

Follow the same rules for any other key but just beware that spill is likely to be a problem.
Add lights and gels on the subject only if that light and color would be part of the scene your placing them into. Can we assume this is just for a talking head with graphic background and not a case were your trying to place this person into a real life scene? If so, think of the colors of the background you'll create and use those color to light the edge of you subject. If they're going into a real scene then look at the light in that scene and light the subject that way.
    Basics:
Light the subject as you want them. Make sure you subject lights don't hit the screen.
Light the chroma screen (green) to 50 IRE. Make sure the screen lights don't hit your subject.
Keep the subject as far as you from the screen to avoid spill.
Obviously with the size constraints you have your going to have trade offs but keep in mind any light you put on the subject is light that will be there after you key them.
    o| TOnyTOny |o
btw, one of the best "cheats" you can do is the make a graphic background the contains lots of green.

  • Lookout limitations and selection of the computer system for lookout

This is regarding the limitation of the lookout i.e. upto how much IO lookout is reccomended to use.
or it is on the basis of the l4p or lks file size basis.
Do you have some criteria for the selection of the computer system for lookout on the basis of the IO's.
is there any criteria by which we can check the execution cycle time for the lookout process.
Is there any NI controller also avaiable for lookout applications?

From what I have observed, there is no standard.  The best thing to do is to create test setups.
Its entirely possible that a system with 100 IO may require more processing/memory than a 5000 IO system.  Database, archiving, reporting, analytics, etc.
    It is variable.
Just for reference on our systems, we dont use the IO count for performance curves, we go based on the site configurations for the system.
A site could be 1 pump, 6 pumps and a tank, 1 pump and a tank, 4 tanks, etc.  Consider than a tank may only take 5 IO and a well upwards of 50 IO each, we could hit 150-200 IO per site.
Smaller systems (<10 sites) we have run very successfully on Atom based servers (not netbooks...).
10-40 sites run well on basic dual-core workstations with 2GB or more of RAM
40-100 we recommend quad-core servers with 4GB or more of RAM.
(100+ gets a little more intricate)
We try to make sure that the system is not more than 15% loaded (memory and/or CPU) by services at normal work.  Lots of room left over for future growth or unexpected workloads and backup routines.

  • Is there a way to connect an external speaker (for another room) through the headphone port

Is there a way to connect an external speaker (for another room) through the headphone port  & still hear sound through the internal speakers?  System Preferences/Sound/Output or Sound Effects allows you to use one or the other  --  headphones or internal speakers.  I would like to have the option of hearing music through the internal speakers in one room, & through an external speaker in another room at the same time.  I also do not want to frequently disconnect/reconnect the external speaker from/to the headphone port as I know over time the connection could become loose.  (10.7.4  Lion)

dont think so but I could be wrong
as it were I didn't like the build in audio so I connected some external logictech 2.1 speakers  but there
are times when I use headset so I bought this one
or any minijack splitter will work too so I have 2 things connected to the headset port works just fine

  • Is it possible to run two different versions of Apple operating system (for ex. 10.6.8 and 10.9) on a MacBook Pro, either on the same disk or from an external hard disk? If so, where would I find the details?

Is it possible to run two different versions of Apple operating system (for ex. 10.6.8 and 10.9) on a MacBook Pro, either on the same disk or from an external hard disk? If so, where would I find the details? (In order to be able to use the older applications no longer supported in 10.9)

If you want to add a second partition to the internal drive (in Disk Utility, select the drive, then open the partition tab and just click the + button), you should first be sure that you will have enough room to accommodate whatever the second volume will be. I am currently doing this for Snow and Mountain Lion.
To get to whatever volume is not the startup disk, restart and hold down option/alt at the chime, which will bring up a selection of the two volumes. Use the left or right arrow keys to select it and then hit enter/return.

  • Do not Extract from PSA but Access Data Source (for Small Amounts of Data)

    Hi Experts,
In the DTP, the above option is available for Full Loads for certain extractors but not for others, particularly, certain HR extractors?
Is there a way to make it available for HR extractors?  Is there a setting that needs to be updated in ECC or in BI?
    Thank you for your help!

    Hi,
There is no special setting for this, Please see the detail description:
Data is not extracted from the PSA for the DataSource; it is requested from the data source directly at DTP runtime.
    Use
You use this mode for small data sets and full uploads, for example, small sets of master data. With file source systems, note that the file has to be available on the application server.
    Dependencies
You do not have to create an InfoPackage in order to extract data from the source.
Data in the data source is accessed in "direct access mode". This has certain consequences, especially if you are extracting data from SAPI systems:
Data is extracted synchronously. This places a particular demand on the main memory, especially in remote systems.
The SAPI extractors may respond differently than during asynchronous load since they receive information by direct access.
SAPI customer enhancements are not processed. Fields that have been added using the append technology of the DataSource remain empty. The exits RSAP0001, exit_saplrsap_001, exit_saplrsap_002, exit_saplrsap_004 do not run.
If errors occur during processing in BI, you have to extract the data again since the PSA is not available as a buffer. This means that deltas are not possible.
In the DTP, the filter only contains fields that the DataSource allows as selection fields. With an intermediary PSA, you can filter in the DTP by any field.
    Regards,
    Kams

Been using an Avastor HDX-800 for storage and backup, also a SUPERDISK for smaller stuff; recently the SUPERDISK does not appear on the screen, and the light blinks while you hear it spin, also the Avastor has started to have the same problem, both USB conncected, both worked well before, but both now spinning, blinking, and not showing up on the screen as before,
Interestingly they both appear in the System Profiler, but just not working the same as before
I have tried other USB ports, but the same responce,

yes I did reset the PRAM, but no benefit, still the same problem
my usb devices are:  keyboard, mouse, printer, SD-USB-M3, and LaCie d2 DVDRW:
the mouse and printed are plugged into the keyboard: i have tried to move, these around, and have even tried just the mouse, printer and SD-USB-M3, but still the same problem

  • How to choose switches, ipphones and copy machine for small business?

    Hello,
I'm designing a network system for Nextrio Company. Right now, I'm going to choose a copy machine which has fax function; a small switch which could connect this copy machine and several other computers; several ip phone for small business.
Could you tell me the type and cost of these devices I should choose?
    Many thanks,

    Hi Hanhan,
For the least amount of operational expernditure, and for great functionality at a small business price, I would suggest humbly that you look at the 300 series switch family.

Can any please help me in regards with Data transfer from E-Rec System to HR System for hiring once the candidate has been successfully completed recruiting process.
    You inputs are highly appreciable.
    Thank you.
    Sekhar.

    Hello Sekhar,
there are three different scenarios for transferring the data of an external candidate to the HR core for hiring.
the easiest and most commonly used is the RFC connection. When creating an activity of category data transfer the data of the candidate is transferred from eRec to HR core. There it is stored in table T752F. Then you can run transaction PA48. There you can select the candidate and run a hiring action. This is the same action like in PA40 only the system will preset the fields with the values from eRec (similar to batch input).
Instead of using the RFC solution you can transfer the data using PI (this can be activated using a switch in T77S0). To be honest none of my customers is using this. Either they had no PI server at all or they did not use it for eRec
The third was delivered with a business function HCM_HIRE_INT_CI_1. This is based on HCM processes and forms and targeted towards customers using Talent Management Core (e.g. data for education and work experience is transferred into the TM Core infotypes 740X as contrary to the hr core standard infotypes 0022 and 0023 they are structured like the eRec ones). Of course as you can do a lot of customer enhancements to HCMP&F you can replace the behavior nearly completely. One or two of my clients discussed this solution but as far as I know none is actually using it.
The simple truth is most customers seem to not use any integration at all. The first solution is easy to activate but only covers around 13 fields. Compared to a real full blow hiring action this is not even 10% of the fields which have to be entered. So the presetting this small number of fields is not a great help especially as you have to check every information anyways. Furthermore PA48 is not very nice and lacks functions to structure the incoming records which makes it difficult to handle in large distributed organizations.
The other two options require a lot of infrastructure for small functionality. What we discussed with a client was using the new hire integration to preset a full hiring form with eRec data and then send to the candidate as offline form to gather all missing information and use this for hiring. But there were to many issues on data privacy aspects when sending a form with social security data, bank account data, etc. via email. Furthermore they required actual signatures.
    Kind regards

  • Risks when maintain only one SolMan system for DEV, QAS and PRD systems

What are the risks involved when maintaining only one solution manager system for entire client landscape(Small size).
    Or No risks are involved?
Or Is this the SAP rrecommended approach for small size landscapes?
One SolMan system -> DEV and QAS and another SolMan system -> PRD.

Anand: Risks Involved depends on what all aspects\Scenarios the Solution Manager System is used for. It Could be used for the following purposes
    1) Service Desk
    2) Solution Monitoring
    3) System Monitoring
    4) Change Management
How do you propose to use the Solman system ?

Anand: This is the most idealistic and SAP recommended way of using Solman....it always better to have it this way no matter in how many scenarios you intend to use Solman for....

  • After Effects CC only - Purchasing a new system for....

Getting ready to purchase a new system for After Effects CC.  I create 3D effects, video effects and many animation effects small scale for website development and YouTube.  I have been considering a system with Xeon E5-2697 V3 processor (14 cores, 3 GHz Clock), 16 GB RAM, 1T SR-HD, and of course a NVIDIA GTX-GPU Cuda video card.  Would this pass the system requirements for After Effects CC?   Any other recommendations?  I do not want to experience the slow downs that I am currently having with my i7 intel system.
    Thank you

....Eric may have the most expert advice on this topic....he builds machines at ADK for what you are talking about.
You may want to ask him about Haswell E...AE requires CPU clock speed, many cores, and large system memory. Also, a fast, separate drive for the  " global performance cache" is beneficial. The GPU use is less than what is used in Premiere ....a solid GeForce card like the NVidia 970 may suffice. Eric can advise
