P & L Report using Report Painter does not run in PRD client ( time out)

Hi SAP Gurus
We created a P & L Statement on the basis of GLPCT table. We incorporated Accounts groups from a financial statemen version using KE5B in profit center accounting.
Report contains Account groups as well as profit centre group.
It takes around 5- 10 minutes to run in DEV client but in PRD it takes a lot of time and times out after a while.
Any suggestions....??

Hi Satish,
Use all the Index fields(Profit-center-based index) which are active for the table GLPCT in the Selection screen of the report and use maximum selection criteria.The processing time will improve to some extent.

Good you got the solution from the Basis Team, probably they might have increased the processing time limit of the report.But to increase the efficiency of the program the above will work.

Need Java for online course. Java does not work with Mavericks or times out quickly?

After upgrading to Mavericks 10.9.3 I am unable to connect to Blackboard through Java for my online courses. Research shows compatability issues. Same issue also occurs with my two Mac Air. is there a solution without taking down firewall and allow all applications?

You might be able to add the website to the list of excepted sites on the Java System preference.
You might be able to setup a proxy connection to your server that Java can speak over.

REPORT DOES NOT RUN CORRECTLY , URGENT PLEASE HELP

I am trying to run a report from visul basic screen, but it does not run correctly. Here is how I am running the report. There is a screen developed in VB This screen prompts the user for user id and password. Once it gets that, it connects to the oracle database and pulls out a column from a table. And passes that value as a parameter to the report. Now I am calling the the report for each individual value . There are 21 value being pulled out of the database and it invokes the report 21 times. So there are 21 report engines gets started. Is there a better way to do that ? Secondly when I pass the parameter , some parameters does not pass correctly I guess , because its not generating any out put . Like out of 21 may be 10 or 11 reports gets generated correctly but rest of the reports are blank. I debug the screen i saw that the parameter value is correct, everything seems good. But still the reports are comming blank. Any Idea why it is so ? The command line that i am using in VB screen is

In the above command " adoRecBrand!Brand " is the parameter thats being passed. This is actually a recordset and brand is the column in it. When I debug the screen , I see the value also there. But the report comes out blank. Please help. This is urgent.

The way you call reports is not scalable. If you have 100 records come back from database, you would end up launch 100 engines at the same times, which probably will blow up your machine. You should use oracle reports server to do that. You can either use rwcli60 to submit the job to reports server, or invoke rwcgi60 from URL.
I am afraid some of reports engine failed to start and you get nothing back in your case.
After switch to use reports server achitecture, if you still see some report is blank in your application, then you can run that report with that special set of parameters manually and see if any problem with the report itself.

Regarding reports using Report Painter

Hi gurus,
I am new for this reports. I have to create a report for HU's with material number,handling unit number, description and status. I am trying create this report using report painter. I have gone through forums on how to create a report. But there is no standard reporting table for this HU's. To create a report libraries are needed but these are linked to reporting tables. So can any one explain me how to create a reporting table and also report.
Let me know if I am not clear about anything.

Field on manual tabular appears using Firefox but does not appear using IE

Hello,
A field in a manual tabular form appears correctly using Firefox but does not appear or appears in another field when IE is used. Javascript is used to hide certain columns on the tabular form. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

The select for the report and the javascript that is used to hide the columns are displayed below. The data for Apex_item.select_list_from_lov(12,null,'LOV_METHOD_OF_ACQ') is shown in the previous column, Date Acquired, and the column for Method Acquired is blank. It appears correctly in Firefox. Please let me know if this is sufficient.

We are talking about the Mail app, right? In the Mail menubar, click on Window and then Previous Recipients:
That eliminates the previous recipients. If you are talking about the suggestions because there are 10 people with the name 'Steve' in your Contacts, then I do not know how to eliminate those unless you change the name slightly or wait until you type the last name or some other differentiator.

The backup files consist of 34,000+ songs; almost all burned from my own CD collection. I do have most of the songs on an ipod classic but hesitate to try to restore from that. The right-hand side shows the files that should be found in the iTunes library folder; sentinel is normally hidden so may not be visible. The core of your iTunes library is the file iTunes Library.itl, you need to restore this, the other library files and the Album Artwork folder, as well as the media folder, to restore your library.

I'm trying to install OS 10.6 onto my Macbook, which currently has OS 10.5.8. I clicked install (on the DVD) and selected my Macintosh HD drive. I was given the message that that disk cannot be used because it does not have the GUID partition. In order to have a GUID partition, it suggested I go to disk utility and make the change. I couldn't see the partition tabs in the disk utility application. So how do I accomplish the GUID partition?

The problem is, reformatting the partition may require you erase the hard drive. Normally Intel Macs are preformatted GUID. The fact that yours is not, says someone who initially installed the system on your Mac did you a disservice. Regardless, you should backup your data before you upgrade. GUID formatted drives generally are not compatible with iBooks (pre-2006 consumer notebooks by Apple) Powerbooks, and PowerMacs, and iMac G5s. So if you indeed have machine with the MacBook name on the screen frame, it was not properly formatted from the beginning.
