P.O Release based on user name

Hi,
Detail Issue :
As we are bascially a constuction company and we have many sites all over india. For each site we have given separate user name & password. And now if a P.O is created in a user name (ex: ABC) from one site it can be released by another site user name (Ex: XYZ). But our company has said that if a P.O is raised by Site with their username (EX: ABC) only that site with their login (Ex: ABC) should release the P.O. And if another site with their login try to release the P.O raised by different site they should not have the authorization.
As different sites are different projects for us so the Confidential info about one project should not be leaked to another project.
So if there is any user exit for the above issue pls reply.

Only one user exists or created in each site???
Basing on your query, its understood that one user only exists for one site. Basically one user (Employee in general) mean on individual entity. Many employees means many users.
Now come to Releasing PR - Superior authority (Management / Supervisor level) has to release PR using their login user and its recorded in PR accordingly. Same user creating PR and releasing PR (even you maintain authorizatiosn for ME52N) not suggistible.
Secondly if come straight to P.O is raised by Site with their username (EX: ABC) only that site with their login (Ex: ABC) should release the P.O not bye XYZ, restrict XYZ for view and change PR of ABC created with BASIS authoriations.

How to highlight a row in IR based on User Name

What is the best way to highlight a row in a IR, based on User Name. ie APP_USER.
Suppose if a APP_USER log in to the application, the row in the IR corresponding to the APP_USER should alone be highlighted.

APP_USER value is uppercase. Your name column values are lowercase.
Example code that I did post string comparison is case sensitive.
I did change your example dynamic action JavaScript to convert cell value to upper case

SQL Server 2012 Always ON routing to particular server based on User Name

I have configured SQL Server 2012 with AlwaysON availability groups. I could route my connections to Secondary node when I put the applicationintent = readonly on the connection string. However I would like to route all of my connections from particular
user name to my read only node. How can I accomplish this without changing connection string (Reason is I would like to be able to route connections for read only query to some older application client that doesn't support applicationintent parameter).

There is nothing built in that will allow you to dynamically re-route connections based on usernames. This may be achieved outside of SQL Server through some sort of network appliance, but I can't say for sure.
Would it be possible to upgrade the SQL Client (to 2012+) for the old application and then change the connection string?

Modify Dynamic Prompt Values based on User Name

Hi,
I did some searching for this issue on the forum and could not quite find anyone with the same problem. If I missed something, please except my apologies in advance.
I have created a report within Crystal Reports 2008 with dynamic prompts. The report pulls possible values for the report directly from my database (MS SQL 2005). This works well.
I have deployed the report, with eclipse, under tomcat using the free JRC components provided by SAP.
This is a financial report which allows users to view the budget of a department. Each user will have one or many departments that they should have access to. Not everyone sees the same departmental information. I have a table that contains the user name of each individual and the department code they should have access to.
One of the dynamic parameters I have in the report now lists all department codes. Would it be possible to pass to the report a user name that would limit the listing within the department code parameter to only those departments the user name has access to (as specified in the security table I have setup for this)?
I need to do this within the JRC and not the Business Objects EDGE server. With this in mind, I do not believe I can use any of the RAS components of the JRC.

Mount SMB share based on user name at Login

I'm trying to get an SMB share mounted at login for Users where the UNC path is based on the username. I have written a simple script to accomplish this:
set username to do shell script("whoami")
try
mount volume "smb://path/to/files/" & username
end try
The script works. I saved it as an application. I added that application as a login item for the group I want it applied to in Workgroup Manager. When logging in as a memeber of that group it shows up in the login items on the client as Unnknown Unknown and does nothing.
I then put the application on the client and added it as a login item locally and it worked fine.
How can I make this work via Workgroup Manager? I need to run a different script based on what group the user logging in is a member of. It doesn't even need to be a script if there is another solution to get shares mounted with different paths including the username of the user logging in. Thanks for the help. If anything is unclear please let me know.

Multiple communication channels for file adapter based on user name

I am using this Idoc-to-File scenario, using FTP for sending the files to file server. Target directory is determined by user id which is unique for a field called ASC. Field ASC is a part of incoming Idoc. There are 40 ASC; that means I have 40 user ids/password. Is there way of creating a file communication channel where user id/password can be supplied dynamically. Or there is an alternative to creating 40 different channels, one for each ASC.

File Encoding
Temporary Name Scheme for Target File Name

Custom Authentication Scheme - call SSO or Local Process based on User Name

Hi,
We are looking at building a new application that allows employee and public user access.
For staff we want to use Single Sign On as we have for all our other ApEx applications.
For public users (who will register to create an account) we want to use our own Custom Authentication Function.
What I would like to do is to have an Authentication Function along the lines of:
If username like '%@%'
then call Custom Function
else call SSO Funcion.
How do I call the SSO Authentication Function progamatically?

Anyway you are right, the role of the user can change after the user is initially provisioned.
I'll try to summarize to be sure to have understood your answer and to explain my scenario more in details:
1. After user identity creation, I'll assign the role "Project Manager". Before role assignment the user has not any role. So using a pre-populate adapter I can retrieve the assigned role and compose the right userid.
2. After step 1, I need to assign another role to the user, the new role should be "External Reseller" for example. In this case the user has a role already. What I would is: basing on the role that I'm assigning (External Reseller), the pre-populate should compose the right userid. Obviously this second userid will be different from the first one and this means a new account will be created for the user. At the moment I don't care to deprovisioning the first userid.
Is it possible with pre-populate adapter?

I am using SOA 11g to call an API in EBS using Oracle Apps Adapter .I am passing User name,Responsibility Name and other parameteres in invoke properties. Now the API is called successfully with most of the user names while for few usenames it's not able able to resolve user id based on user name. Although if the API is called from Oracle Apps/PL SQL ,it is working for all the users.

The information about the Person who has relesed the entry sheet will be not stored in the change document for the entry sheet.
There is only the information about which release code has released the SES. In an organization a certain user or a group of   users can use the very same release code.
However, if you have also configured a workflow with this release strategy, then it is possible to know who has
released the SES.
You will need to create you own report which reads the change history (CDHDR and CDPOS) and finds out the date when the last release code of the release strategy has been released and to find out based on this data who was the approver.

We have two schemas:
Schema1 - base schema having 15 tables.
Schema2 - tables which is specific to modules. Having only 10 tables which is also available in Schema1
Login to application using Schema 1
Access a particlular module and select the country. Here country selection is identified.
Based on the country selection, we need to connect the schema respectively.
If the user selects France --> It should connect Schema1
If the user selects Germeny --> It should connect schema2.

You may want to have a different persistence unit for each country, then you just need to switch persistence units, and can put the schema in your orm.xml file.

You can get the user name from table VBAK-ERNAM Pass the sales order number in to VBAK-VBELN

From the report RSSCD100 enter the object class as VERKBELEG and T code as VKM3 and execute
Or You can use the table CDHDR

USER NAMES LIST BASED IN A QUERY

I want to create a user names list base in a result of a query.
I must give access to specific users which are in table, this table is for accesing to the oracle portal.
But for defining what users must have access I need another table which contains a field defines what users can access to the application.
How do I must do for creating this user list?
The apex application begins when I click in its link created in the Oracle portal, this action sends a parameter of the user name of the portal.
Based in the username sent, the first page in the apex application must execute a query on load and its result must redirect to the page for user valids or another page for invalid users.
For that I have thought in doing an application without authentication scheme.
Also the application must save the username for knowing what user did the last change in a table. But this username must be the same of the oracle portal user name.
Is posible create a username list in apex which be contains the same user names of the oracle portal? How to do that?

I think VPD (Virtual Private Database) and RLS (Row Level Security) are the tools to solve your problem. Take a look at them, there are cool demos on OTN too.

User Name- and Password-Based Mutual Authentication

The J2EE 1.4 Tutorial Update 1 shows an example of Client-Certificate Authentication over HTTP/SSL with JAX-RPC, but no User Name- and Password-Based Mutual Authentication example.
Does this work the same? Does the client need a certificate for User Name- and Password-Based Mutual Authentication?
I created my own self-signed certificate and imported it using the keytool. When I use my client to connect to my JAX-RPC web service, I get the following error: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: No trusted certificate found.
It seems that no trusted certificate is found... on the client side?! How do I specify the client certificate at the client side? I created a client certificate and added it to the keystore in the application server...
If somebody should have an example of User Name- and Password-Based Mutual Authentication, I'd really apreciate it.

I've almost the same problem.In an application based on Java Web Start, i try to attack a web service through HTTPS. Before the call of the web services, the client have discussed with the server through HTTPS, so the user have already accept the certificate (i use self-signed certificate too), i get the same exception.
At the begining i've used classes from axis. I've found that axis doesn't want to support non trusted certificate. Some workaround were that the client access the private key of the server ... not really secure. So i've tried to use the JAX-RPC classes, always the exception.
For the moment , we don't want to use trusted certificate and don't want to install on each user workstation the server certificate. I continue to investigate, if someone have some solution ? What i don't understand is why i've this exception altough i'm in a secure environment (JWS + user accepts the untrusted certificate).
Sorry, i've never work on User Name- and Password-Based Mutual Authentication, but i think your exception come because of self-signed certificate.
