Hello BJSinPDX,
Yes, you may be able to install the printer drivers without using a CD.
Listed below are the steps ...
Plug in the USB cable to the PC and the printer and the installation should automatically start. Else, go to Computer and double click on HP Logo under Storage devices.
OR click    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3435... to access the webpage to download the printer software.

  • LaserJet P1505n printing slow just for user-level accounts in Win7

I have several workstations running Win7 Pro 64-bit that have been installed as replacements for XP machines.  All of them print to one of several P1505n printers, and are using the latest drivers from HP.  Under XP there were no problems printing to these printers, but the Win7 machines have significant delays when trying to print.  The Windows test page prints instantaneously, but printing from any other application has a delay of up to a full minute before the job begins to print.  Once the job prints, it prints without issue.
One thing that I have noticed during my testing seems to point to permissions.  If I am logged in using my admin-level account, everything prints as it should, with no delays at all.  Once I log in with a user-level account, however, the delays begin.  I found the driver files at C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64\3, but giving "everyone" full control over those files does not help.
Is there anything else that I should be looking at?
    Thanks in advance!
    Donny

In the end, I was able to resolve the problem by installing the Vista x64 drivers.  No playing with permissions necessary.

  • Installing x64 and x86 drivers for a HP Laserjet p1505n printer on Windows Server 2008

How do you install both x64 and x86 drivers for a p1505n on a 2008 server? I have now managed to install 64 bit drivers but can't install x86 drivers in the normal way using Additional Drivers from the Sharing tab. I am also trying to do similar for a laserjet 1022n printer.

On the 2008 Server x64 I installed the FULL driver package 163mb.
I installed the HP P1505n on Server 2008 and made sure that was working.
Then I went back in and did the Additional Driver thing and when it asked for the driver for x86 I went to the
C:\hp_P1000_P1500_Full_Solution folder and scrolled to the bottom and there was the x86 XP driver.
    I hope this helps someone.

  • Office HP P1505n printer connected to network not being found

    Hi,
I'm trying to fix a problem we have had since experiencing a power cut last week. Our main support guy is on holiday and i am pretty new to our network.
After we lost power i had to manually start all of our servers and services and i thought everything was working until a user tried to use one of our printers.
The error message for one of the printers was 'Error - Offline' and the other says 'Unable to connect'. Both messages being displayed from the print options in microsoft word. The 2 printers are a HP LaserJet p1505n and a HP Colour LaserJet CM 2320.
We have a small network with a domain controller and DHCP on one server and our printer installations on another (running Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit. The printers are connected to the network via ethernet cable. I remember someone mentioning restarting a network switch which is next the printers which i have done.
I printed a config page from one of the printers and made sure that the displayed IP address was correct in DHCP. It was correct for the address lease and reservation for the printer. When i try and ping the printer from a computer i get 'Destination host is unreachable'.
It must be something to do with settings not being right after the power cut but i'm not sure where next to look.
Any advise would be very welcomed.
    Thanks!

  • HP LaserJet P1505n Printer frequently loses assigned static IP address and goes offiline

    We have replaced printer several times, assigned printer static ip to eliminate network related issues. Ran, Scan Doctor;
    - reinstalled printer drivers
    - power cyled printer
    - check for network connectivity
    - Printer works perfectly ( for a brief period of time.)
What's mind boggling, ( if I may) is that IPv4 service was turned off when printer went offline. Logical right? Turned it back and it works for a while and goes offline again. Boggie man stops by that printer to turn-off network connections repeatedly. This is frustrating and makes my department look bad. May be we should try a different brand of printer. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi gr---8 ,
Sorry to hear you are still having issues setting up the printer on the wired network.
We will need to find out if it is the Ethernet port on the printer, or the network causing this issue.
Do you have Mac filtering on the router?
Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the printer.
Restore the printer back to factory settings.
Print a hardware test page to test the printer's hardware. Make sure the SSID and IP address is cleared from your router's setttings. Printing a Configuration Page in Windows.
Connect the Ethernet cable directly to the computer.
Print the configuration page again to see if you get a IP address to test the Ethernet port on the printer.
    What is the IP address?
Run the add printer wizard to install the printer.
    Test the printer.
Were you able to see the printer, add the printer and print?
What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.
Please provide in detail the results.
    Have a nice day!
    Thank You.

  • HP Laserjet p1505n doesn't work over network with Yosemite

Ever since upgrading the machines in my house (Mac Pro, iMac, MBPretina, MBAir) to Yosemite, I have not been able to use the network attached Laserjet p1505n that used to work flawlessly under 10.9.  It doesn't appear in the printer tab in System Prefs where it used to pop up.  Anyone have any experience with this?  The printer will install via USB just fine on the Mac Pro, MBPRetina, etc.  Thanks!

To see the printer in the Default view of the Add printer window, a protocol called Bonjour is used by the printer and Mac. This protocol is having issues for some users who have upgraded to Yosemite. Until the issue is resolved you may be able to use one of the IP protocols to connect to the networked printer. To do so you will need to find the IP address being used by the printer. If the LJ-P1505n has a control panel, you may be able to generate a report showing the network settings.
Once you have the IP address you can open Printers & Scanners and click the plus button to add a printer. Then click on the IP icon and enter the IP address of the HP in the Address Field. In the Protocol field, change to HP Jetdirect-Socket and in the Queue field, leave this blank. You can then change the Name from the IP address to LJP1505n and in the Use menu, select the P1505n printer. Click the Add to complete the printer creation and then see if you can print.

  • HP Laserjet P1505n: network configuration lost

    Hi.
In my work I meet many HP Laserjet P1505n. These printers often lose their configuration and they become unreachable whit their ip. If I print a page-configuration (pressing the green button), no page is printed. I have to reset (pressing red+green button while turning on) and setup the printer. This happens a few times until the reset does not work anymore.
If I print with usb cable, I have no problem.
    Can you help me?

To see the printer in the Default view of the Add printer window, a protocol called Bonjour is used by the printer and Mac. • Vista to XP Printing

First, I apologize if this is answered elsewhere; I couldn't find it.
I have an HP LJ P1505n printer attached via usb to an xp machine, and shared on a peer-to-peer network.
I managed to connect an HP computer running vista to the printer by creating a local port \\hostcomputer\printername. No problem, and this prints well.
On another HP printer, I did the same as the first vista machine, but instead of printing to \\hostcomputer\printername it prints a temporary file, then I get a print error. I checked the configuration of both of the printer installations on the vista machines, and they are identical. Why is the first vista machine printing directly to \\hostcomputer\printername while the second creates a temporary file, then errors out? I can't figure it out, and would really, really appreciate help.
BTW, I uninstalled the printer and the drivers through server properties from the second machine and physically connected the printer to the computer to reinstall the driver and printed fine to the printer connected directly to the computer. Then, I reconnected the printer to the original XP computer and added the \\hostcomputer\printername to the vista computer. Printing one page works fine. More than one, and it goes to a temp file, then errors out.

THIS WORKS, THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
I just purchased a vista home premiun computer and was having the same issue making my hp 5150 printer work through a networked xp system that the printer is physically attached to..It now works.. procedure= ( on the vista computer ) remove all old printers and printer drivers from previous attempts.
Go to this address and download this driver http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?os=2093&softwareitem=dj-46093-3&lc=en&cc=us...  HP_Vista_SF_Ph1.exe ,,click on it and let it install. when it ask if installing a local or network printer  (choose network ) continue install. It may tell u the drivers may not install properly, ( install anyway ) It may again tell you the drivers did not install correctly ( do not fix just keep them installed incorrectly ) now leave the print test page window open.
Go to add printer wizard and install new printer ( network printer ) add a local port and type EXACTLY the same path to the xp based printer EXAMPLE= \\lisajunk\printer .....finish wizard and print test page...
I done nothing to the xp computer, my printer and drivers work good on my other networked computers which use xp operating system.
I believe creating the correct port and having the correct path on the vista machine is the key to making this work. I use xp pro SP1 on an old antique 400mhz gateway that my printer is physically attached to.. You need to make sure the printer is being shared on the machine it is physically attached too.

  • HP LaserJet P1505n stops printing and blocks network interface

I have been using my P1505n for over two years without any problem. But it suddenly stopped printing. The scenario is as follows:
    1. The P1505n is connected to a wired home network with reserved IP address in the DHCP server.
    2. The P1505n is used from Ubuntu 10.4, 11.4 , Windows XP and Windows 7 without any previous problems.
    3. The last partial successful print job stopped in the middle of a page leaving the rest blank: no paper jam.
    4. I have reset the printer several times: turn off + press Cancel & Go + turn on while holding the two buttons down.
    5. The first reset was successful: the toner level going from 40 to 100%. The next ones may have been successfull too.
    6. After each reset and also after each power-on, I can ping and access the embedded web server.
    7. Whenever I send a print job, the print queue on the computer (all OS behave identically) says "printing" and stops. I can cancel/remove the jobs from Ubuntu.
    8. After the printer receives the print job, it silently blocks the network interface (no ping nor web) and doesn't print anything. No movementsm no LED blinking either: just nothing happens.
What is the reason for this problem? And how do I solve it?

    Hi firedude007,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I see that your HP Laserjet P1102w stops printing files from your Mac but not on Windows, and I am happy to help!
For further assistance, I will need to know the following information:
The version number of the Mac Operating System. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is connected, Wireless, or USB.
If the printer is able to make copies by itself.
In the meantime, I would try the following:
Reset the printing system. Mac OS X: How to reset the printing system.
Verify and repair disk permissions. Disk Utility 12.x: Repair disk permissions.
Hope to hear from you, and thank you for posting!

Maybe you can find your drivers there —or at least some information.
As of your printer, turn it on and connect it to your mac, then click in software update —chances are that you can download the drivers.

  • Vista 64 - LaserJet P1505n - Word - printing only first 2 pages

I have a new Dell laptop with Vista 64 and HP LaserJet P1505n. When I try to print a multi page document in Word 2007, it only prints the first 2 pages. I have to tell it to print pages 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, etc. to get the rest of the pages. If I convert the same document to PDF, all pages print fine. Has any one resolved this issue?

    it's getting more interesting:
I connected the printer directly via USB; Voila, works like a charm
    Using wireless: problems.
Now it's specifically the wireless option why I choose this printer, so USB is not really an option.
Strange thing is: the HP Utility cannot find the printer wireless, not even if I enter the (static) IPv4 address.

  • HP P1505n printers-slow print spool on Windows Server 2008-3 minutes to print test page

We have over 50 HP Laserjet P1505n printers setup on our Windows Server 2008 network.  Our pcs using Windows XP Pro SP3.  These printers are taking 3 minutes to spool a simple print job to the printer. After the page prints, it takes 2 minutes to communicate back to the pc that the job was sent.  Eventually, it seems that the printers stop printing altogether because the jobs will error in the queue due to timeouts.
We have tried different settings on our printers and the drivers from the installation cd and HP website.  We have seen no difference in performance. The time lag is so substantial that it is wreaking havoc with our users.
We have tried to UNcheck 'use advanced printing features' but this did not help at all.
Can anyone help with this problem?  It seems as though these printers were not designed to work with Windows Server 2008, yet they are new model printers.

HP P1505n does not officially support Win Server 2008. However, just as you mentioned that we can use 6L driver as a workaround. BTW, P1505n was launched back to 2007.

  • HP LaserJet P1505n - Can't get Supply Status to print.

    Greetings,
It is part of my job to make sure all the printers in our office buildings are stocked with toner.  Whenever I try to print the Supply
Status page to see how much toner is left, all I get is the message:
"The Supply status is currently unavailable.
     Please try again momentarily."
This would be fine, except I have tried again, at several different moments over many days.  I really need this information to do my job properly.  If I wait for it to run out completely, people have to wait until I'm informed and can get there to replace the toner.  If I replace the toner whenever not willing to risk running out, it causes too much waste.
Any advice or help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you very much,
