P2 algorithm mismatch

Hi
When using Greenbow or Cyberoam to connect to a Leopard Server VPN using a vista machine I keep getting "p2 algorithm mismatch" in phase2.
I cannot figure out what the mismatch is. Seems to me it must be possible to connect to a leopard server via vpn with a windows client. Apple can't possibly have failed in this respect. All my macs connect without a glitch.
Any tips or useful comments appreciated

I have used the built in vpn client in windows and vista to connect to leopard server without any issues. Using pptp. I have not been request by any of my clients for ipsec as of yet.

  • Help!!input pfx,p12 to jks keystore get error "Signature Algorithm mismach"

    The following is the question that I met ~ Who can help me to solve the problem?
    use j2sdk1.4.02
    I'm tring to use keytool to input my company's pfx file to jks format keystore ,
    and I'm getting keytool error "Signature Algorithm mismatch" .
    I also tried to import the pfx file to Netscape and export to p12 format ,
    and still got error "Signature Algorithm mismatch".
    When I using following command ..
    keytool -list -keystore xxx.p12 -storetype PKCS12
    It still throws keytool error "Signature Algorithm mismatch".
    And I checked the pfx(p12) file with IE , the Signature Algorithm Name is RSA.
    What problem whith the p12 file?
    Is keytool can't support RSA Signature Algorithm, or anything else??
    Finally,maybe all the problems are that I have wrong idea, and hope someone can instruct me.
    Thanks for help..(I'm looking for this question several days.)
    Vincent ...(from Taiwan)

    I'd just purchase and use KeyStore Explorer. $30 for single-user.
    It easily converts between pkcs12 and jks formats. I had no problems generating keys/certs in this tool and exporting them to JKS keystores for use with Java as well as into OpenSSL for use with Apache, etc.

  • Linux 3.9 VPN Client

    Anybody have any success connecting to a BM 3.8.5 VPN server (C2S) using this client?
    I've setup a SLED 10 box patched to the hilt and installed the latest Novell Client for Linux as well as the VPN client (installed and configured as per the documentation...http://www.novell.com/documentation/.../bookinfo.html) that comes with the BM 3.9 Trial and I'm unable to get connected. I'm still able to connect with my Windows and MAC boxes so I don't think my VPN server is the issue.
    On the SLED box I get one the following errors after it tries to connect to our VPN:
    Error #1:
    VPN Connect Failure
    Could not start the VPN connection "XXXX" due to a connection error.
    The VPN login failed because the VPN program could not connect to the VPN server.
    Error #2:
    VPN Connect Error
    Could not start the VPN connection "XXXX" due to a connection error.

    It looks like VMware is interfering with it. Either uninstall that, or see below.
    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
    Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • 3rd party vpn help

    Hi
    tried to setup a netopia dsl router but it was not quite working.
    I put a Netgear firewall behind the netopia and got a little father. I
    got phase 1 up and not phase 2 and I got messages on the BM IKE sceen.
    So much closer.
    A couple quick question AH or ESP?
    I think the mail issue is that the wan side of the netgear is 10.10.1.2
    and I have the netopia mapping a 75.28.120.89 to that. So I think the
    netgear is sending the BM some info that does not match. Not sure how to
    make the netopia let the Netgear take the wan IP over. Would that be
    bridging? When I tried that was not able to access the internet.
    I am guesing I should get a DSL VPN router. The Netopia does IKE but I
    don't believe it lets me do protected networks and that is why I failed
    when I set it up with BM.
    Any thoughts?
    Ike log below.
    Thanks,
    Will

    That means that phaseII, quick mode, does not match on both ends.
    Settings has to be the same on both ends, about encryption.
    There are few good documents about configuring 3rd party vpn with bm.
    The device will change but the settings have to be the same, just use
    one of this docs as example of the settings you need

  • [SOLVED] X server: driver mismatch after upgrade...

    after -Syu upgrade (without errors), screen is blank after starting X. Christmas is coming and I can't play Xmas music so it's turning into family panic too!!
    I've tried Xorg -configure but the logs show there is some driver mismatch which I don't know how to fix.
    I've been using the Intel i915 driver with no problems at all until now.

    Have you tried removing the whole xorg or the the whole xorg-drivers group? The latter may not work, because:
    [karol@black ~]$ pacman -Rns xorg-drivers
    checking dependencies...
    error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
    :: xorg-server: requires xf86-input-evdev
    that's why I suggester removing the whole xorg group.
    You can use the '-dd' switch:
    [karol@black ~]$ pacman -Rdd xorg-drivers
    Targets (4):
    Name Old Version New Version Net Change
    xf86-input-evdev 2.6.0-4 -0,05 MiB
    xf86-video-fbdev 0.4.2-5 -0,03 MiB
    xf86-video-intel 2.17.0-2 -0,78 MiB
    xf86-video-vesa 2.3.0-7 -0,04 MiB
    Total Removed Size: 0,90 MiB
    Do you want to remove these packages? [Y/n]
    just be sure to reinstall Intel drivers.

  • Unsupported Authentication Algorithm

    I keep getting this message in my 350AP logs when trying to do PEAP:
    Station [172.16.200.204]00097cfcd901 Failed Authentication, status "Unsupported Authentication Algorithm"
    It doesn't even try and contact my Radius server (Win2k IAS)
    I've tried using both 11.23T and 12.00 images on the AP. I've followed every set of instructions I could find and nothing seems to be able to get it to work... I've set the authentication on the AP to Require EAP (i've also tried Network-EAP) with a WEP rotation and I've got ACU 5.05 with latest firmware (4.25.30) and drivers (8.2.3) installed on my WinXp (SP1) machine.
    It's like I'm missing the "work / don't work" switch somewhere.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Ben

    If you are using some sort of wireless security,and you are getting a message like unsupported authentication algorithm, this indicates that there is a mismatch of the security that is configured. Please recheck the security configuration of the access point and the client.
    The URL http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/cc/pd/witc/ao1200ap/prodlit/wrsec_an.htm provides information on client and device requirements for security configurations
    You can enable accounting on the access point to send network accounting information about wireless client devices to a RADIUS server on your network. Cisco Secure ACS writes accounting records to a log file or to a database daily.

  • Type Mismatch error while calling a Java Function from Visual Basic 6.0...

    Hi,
    I'm having a problem in calling the Java Applet's Function from Visual Basic. First, I'm getting the handle of the Java Applet and components of it using "Document.Applets(n)" which is a HTML function. I'm calling this function from Visual Basic. My code is something like this...
    ' // Web1 is IE Browser in my Form.
    Dim Ap,Comp
    Dim Bol as Boolean
    Bol = true
    Ap = Web1.Document.Applets(0).getWindow() ' \\ Gets the Parent Window.
    Ap.setTitle("My Java Applet") ' \\ Sets the Title of the window.
    msgbox Ap.getVisibility() ' \\ This will return a Java boolean ( true or false )
    Ap.setVisibility(Bol) ' \\ Function Syntax is : void setVisibility(boolean b)
    Here in my code , i'm able to call any function that which accepts Integer or String but not boolean. So, i m facing problem with Ap.setVisibility() function. It gives me a "Type mismatch error" while executing it. Can you please tell me a way to do this from Visual Basic !
    I'm using Visual Basic 6.0, Windows 2000 , J2SDK 1.4.2_05.

  • SHA2 Algorithm support in Adobe Acrobat 9

    Hello,
    1) Does Acrobat 9 supports SHA2 Hash algorithms while signing PDF file?
    2) As per my understanding PDF is signed using below approach
        Step 1. Take the PDF contents
        Step 2. Calculate the Hash of the content
        Step 3. Then sign(Encrypt) the hash. (here again we calculate the hash)
      So we are hashing the content twice.
      If I use SHA1 algorithm in Step2 and SHA2 algorithm in Step3, Adobe 9 is able to verify the signature. But if i use SHA2 algorithm in Step1 & Step 2
      Adobe 9 is saying "Content altered....."
      Why so?
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance
    Priyanka

    SHA2 was only added in Acrobat 9.1.  Also, the Microsoft Base CSP is needed for SHA2 support - Base CSP is included in Vista and Windows 7, but in XP it needs to be downloaded as a seperate addon.
    How are you setting the values in your SecurityHandler?  Off the top of my head, I believe in order to use SHA2 to hash the content (your "Step 2") you need to use AES-256 as your encryption algorithm which required a different cryptVersion be set in your SecurityHandler structure.

  • Mismatch of Assigned Budget in CJ33 & Report S_ALR_87013558

    Hi,
    I would like to inform there is an issue in mismatch of assigned budget value in CJ33 wrt hierarchical report(S_ALR_87013558). Request you to suggest to fix the issue.
    Thank you for your coopearation.
    Regards,
    Ranjan

    Ranjan,
    removing a column in a report will not affect at all at the values observed. Therefore,
    it is unuseful to do it.
    If there are inconsistencies in the assigned value, i suggest you to take the following steps:
    1. Excute the report BPDIST03 via SE38 for the project in question.
    2. Excute the tnrx CJEN.(Reconstruction of project information DB)
    3. Excute the trnx CJBW.(Deactivate the availability control)
    4. Excute the trnx CJBN.(Reconstruction of availability control)
    5. Excute the trnx CJBV.(Activate the availability control again)
    Hope this helps

  • Application registration algorithm

    I'm writing a small shareware app that I would ideally like people to register. This is the classic, if they send in the registration code 'xxxxxx', then I can send the unlock code 'YYYYY' situation.
    Three criteria:
    1) I would like the registrtaion code xxxxx to be unique. I am toying with the idea of storing the date in millisecs of when the app was first run on the system. If anyone has any better suggestions, I would love to hear them.
    2) I would really like to have the algorithm myself. i.e. I don't plan to make enough off of this to be worth purchasing a library.
    3) This does not need to be incredibly secure. Just enough to keep the casual person from
    Does anyone out there have an algorithm they are willing to share to accomplish this?
    Thanks all. This falls into the 'I know it has to be a known problem, but I'm not sure where to start' category.

    Unless I am misunderstanding, I think that I'm addressing what you mentioned. Let me recap and see if I can make it more clear.
    1) Client sends you an identifier and saves it to the client's disk.
    String start = "" + System.currentTimeMillis();
    start = start.substring( start.length() - 5, start.length() );
    //this pulls off the last 6 numbers from the first run time and converts to a string.
    // this is written to a file on the client side and then sent to me for registration.
    2) You (the server) send back a hash of the identifier.
    //registration app
    String start = codeSentFromCustomer;
    String superSecretDecoderString = "Secret Code";
    start = start + superSecretDecoderString;
    String result = MD5.getHashString( start );
    result = result.substring( result.length() - 9, result.length() );
    //this takes the 6 digits provided and appends "Secret Code".
    //  i.e. if the customer's code is "333232", then "333232Secret Code" is fed into MD5.
    //  I then send the customer the last 10 digits from my MD5 hash, say "1234567890" for simplicity sake
    3) Clients types the unlock code ("1234567890") into the registration box, which is then saved to disk.
    // to check on the unlock code's validity, I...
    String superSecretDecoderString = "Secret Code";
    String start = originalCodeFromAbove; //i.e. "333232" in this example
    start = start + superSecretDecoderString;  //now start = "333232Secret Code"
    String result2 = MD5.getHashString( start );
    result2 = result2.substring( result2.length() - 9, result2.length());
    // I compare the result2 to the stored unlock code to make sure they are equal
    //  superSecretDecoderString is stored within the client and the registration prog's code.  i.e.
    //  the customer never sees that string.
    4) At each startup the client code checks the hash of sent ID against the return he has stored.
    // run through the validation code detailed in #3.I think it addresses what you were referring to, but if it doesn't please tell me. It's my first crack at this sort of code, and I'd much rather discover any gaping holes now than later. :)
    thanks again

  • Fastest square root algorithm

    I was looking for a fast algorythm for integer square roots and I found this one http://medialab.freaknet.org/martin/src/sqrt/.
    The algorithm comes from a book by Mr C. Woo on how to do maths on an abacus.
    I post the javaized version here in case anyone finds it interesting.
    I believe this is the fastest square root function in existance for integers (and in game programming much of the time you aren't interested in fractions)
    /* Fast interger square root adapted from algorithm by Martin Guy @ UKC, June 1985.

          res = 0;
          /* "one" starts at the highest power of four <= than the argument. */
          one = 1 << 30;   /* second-to-top bit set */
          while (one > op) one >>= 2;
          while (one != 0)
             if (op >= res + one)
                op = op - (res + one);
                res = res +  (one<<1);
             res >>= 1;
             one >>= 2;
          return(res);
       }

      if(a<0) throw new IllegalArgumentException("number<0");
      double precision=0.001;
      double x_nMinus1 = -1;
      double x_n = 1;
      while( Math.abs(x_n - x_nMinus1) > precision ) {
        x_nMinus1 = x_n;

  • Square root algorithm?

    Okay, two things...I've always kinda wondered what the algorithm for the square-root function is...where would I find that?
    but the main thing is, I was making a class to store/deal with a complex/mixed number (a + b*i), and I was trying to make a square-root method for that. But I fiddled around with the variables in the equation, and I can't quite get any further.
    This is what I got (algebraically: this isn't actual code):
    ( the variables a, b, c, d are all real numbers )
    ( the constant i is the imaginary unit, sqrt(-1) )
    sqrt(a + b*i) == c + d*i
    a + b*i == (c + di)^2
    a + b*i == c*c - d*d + 2*c*d*i
    a == c*c - d*d
    b == 2*c*d
    c == sqrt( a + d*d )
    c == b / (2* d)
    d == sqrt( c*c - a )
    d == b / (2*c)
    right now the only thing i can conclude from that, is that if you know (a or b) and (c or d) you can determine the other variables. but I can't figure out how to define c or d purely in terms of a and b, as the method would need to. so I'm stuck.

    Okay, two things...I've always kinda wondered what the
    algorithm for the square-root function is...where
    would I find that?
    Math.sqrt()It's an extremely important skill to learn to read the API and become familiar with the tools you will use to program Java. Java has an extensive set of documentation that you can even download for your convenience. These "javadocs" are indexed and categorized so you can quickly look up any class or method. Take the time to consult this resource whenever you have a question - you'll find they typically contain very detailed descriptions and possibly some code examples.
