P2 card 24pa import AUDIO ISSUES...time sensitive/losing my mind

Hello. I'm shooting 1080i 24pa on an HPX170. Editing in FCPX 10.0.8
Playback is fine in my camera.
Playback is fine on the Import Media window.
Playback AFTER import is disastrous.
I'm removing pulldown, to achieve true 1080p...but the audio is out of sync and completely cuts off about 75% of the way through EACH clip. It's this way on the timeline, in the event browser, even (outside of FCPX) in Finder and QuickTime.
I have googled and googled and googled some more. I've lost a days worth of editing and need to figure out how to fix this before I pull all of my hair out.
I'm using OSX 10.8.3
MacBook Pro
2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
8gb 1333 MHz DDR3

I haven't had the chance to try it out yet, but does TSmuxer help any?

  • Importing audio issues...

I am importing audio files from iTunes and the sound is speeded up. My adio files came from a digital recorder that was dumped into an editing software which was then imported into iTunes. In iTunes it sounds fine but then when I drag the sound byte over to a track it is speeded up and unintelligible???? Any thoughts on how I can slow it down?

I justed upgraded to Logic Pro X and whenever I import any sort of audio the 1st small bit of music always gets messed up.  Please let me know how to fix this.  I have had issues importing mp3's as well as converting mp4's to audio files.  Its like there is a little hiccup in the conversion proccess for the 1st half second of music every time.
**THE AUDIO IS FINE PRIOR TO BEING IMPORTED INTO LOGIC PRO X***
Please help ASAP!!!@!@!!  I am trying hard to stick with Logic Pro X instead of 9 but find it hard when my audio is getting botched on the import proccess
    Thanks!

    I have this problem too.
im running Mavericks 10.9.2 and Logic X 10.0.6.
I dont enable my time machine.
I'll try converting the file to other formats before importing to logic and see what happens

  • Captivate 5 freezes up any time I try to record, edit, or import audio

I'm using Captivate 5 to create a CBT. When I try to record, edit, or import audio to the slide the program just freezes. When I end the program through my computer's task manager, it says that Captivate is waiting for a response from me. I can not click on anything after I select Audio > Record > Slide. After I reopen the Captivate I can access the Audio Settings with no problem however. Why is Captivate doing this and how can I fix it?

OK. My next guess would be that there is some corrupted element in your project that is preventing compiling from successfully completing.
Next thing to try is use a process of elimination to locate the offending object.
First try copying and pasting all slides from your problem project into a new blank project.  This will rename all objects in all slides and strip out any Advanced Actions, but if your issue is due to either of those, then it should immediately be able to compile.
If that doesn't work, try hiding all slides and just unhide them one at a time to see if it will compile.  If you go through your project a few slides at a time, you may eventually find the offending slide and then whittle it down to the offending object.

  • My Ipad 2 external speakers does not work and headphones has popping sound. This all occured at the same time as my Iphone and Ipod headphones only played mono (no, the "mono" option is not on). How can there be audio issue for all these devices?

My IPad 2 external speaker does not work and the original headphones have popping sound when used. This all occurred at the same time as my IPhone and IPod headphones only plays mono (and no, the "mono" option is not on) with the original headphones, as well as, other headphones tested.  How can there be audio issue for all these devices at the same time?
As you may have noted from the list of Apple devices I own, I believed in the Apple and the products it was producing; but it is hard to believe from my experience and the other voices within the Apple Community that we are all experiencing the same hardware issues. Especially since I recently, I upgraded to an IPhone 4g (no, my faith in IPhone 5 series is very little) and is experiencing the same audio problem as described above. So now, I am off to the Apple store again to be told that it’s a hardware problem on new IPhone. Really? Apple, what happen to the pride in the product you were producing?

Everyone does things a little differently. I love to "jam " along with iTunes ( or old Lp's) . Always have. That's where/how I've learned to play .
I'm sure leonieDF is giving a proper way to jam along on a keyboard with an iTune. He blows my mind all the time with what he knows. Nuff respects to him !
What I do is make a GB project I call "Jam With". I'll make several new tracks that are blank. Just has a few instruments named in the blank tracks. You can change those per song ...
Because I'm not concerned about changing the pitch / key.... of the iTune or the tempo ... I can simply play along with it.
    Peace,

  • FAQ: How do I troubleshoot audio issues when importing .MTS files?

Hello.   The link FAQ: How do I troubleshoot audio issues when importing .MTS files?
does not work, and i need the answer please. My imported MTS clips are not playing back audio because it seems that no audio imported with the video.   Thanks, Don.

    Hi there
Audio plays when the object with the audio assigned appears. This is why you hear it when the Button appears.
Try assigning the audio instead to the object that appears when you click the button. Perhaps the caption.

  • Inserting & Deleting in Trees?? Time sensitive issue

We have a tree that is populated with information linked to a client. When the user clicks on a node, it populates a block to the right with that data. Then the user can manipulate that data on the block to the right. If the users inserts a new record in the block on the right, in the key-crerec trigger for that block, I am also inserted a node into the tree with "[] New Item" as the Label and "0" as the value. My question is how do I delete this node if the user decides not to save. For example, they insert a new record, fill in all the data and then click on another node in the tree (to see it's data). The form pops the message "Do you want to save your changes?" (this message is coming from FORMS not me. If the user says "No". The record is not saved but the node still appears in the tree. Where do I put the code to delete the node?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is a time sensitive issue.

Just a guess (never did that before) - servlets are server-side code. As you already suspected, it's looking for that c:\... file on the server, not on the client. Shouldn't you instead get the upload (input) stream from the request?

  • LR import 2 card readers at the same time

It would speed up my workflow significantly if i could import from 2 card readers at the same time in LR, and import as DNG.  As it stands now when I am really pressed for time I use the dng converter as an importer  then import in place in LR. I would like to see one program in my workflow not 2 or some times 3.

8 GB of ram is enough but If when I replace my mac pro next month I am going to put in 32 GB of  ram.
The whole point is to speed up the work flow.  I have to create great images in very short amount  of time every day. Today I had 1500 images and I had less than one hour to get the images out and I did not have the time to convert to DNG on import.  Coverting to DNG on import slows the process down. So does importing from one card at a time.  I have to go back and replace the CR2 files with DNGs on the server tomorrow.  Like Seth Resnick says “workflow not slow flow”.

  • Audio issue on import

    Folks,
I use iMovie 4&5 all the time and this is the first time I have run into this problem. Someone gave me a finished sports video on miniDV tape about 14 minutes long. During import, audio sounds fine. When I playback the video in iMovie (5) there is no audio. I try a second time after selecting "filter audio" in the prefences. Now the audio if fine until the last 5 minutes when it begins skipping. It does not skip on the tape or during the import. Any ideas as to what may be causing this?
    Thanks!

The "Source Channel Mapping - Default Track Format:" is set to "Use File". We recorded with a Panasonic HPX301 camera, which has three XLR-inputs, and we used all of them. So two of the tracks are identical recordings (from one of the XLR-inputs), while the two remaining are different, so in total there are three different tracks of oudio, all mono.
When we put a p2-file into a sequence it has four tracks of audio linked to it, with the corresponding sound. So everything seems to be in order in Premiere, but for some reason they end up being four identical tracks in Pro Tools. As mentioned we tried making a new project with the same settings as in the project we are currently working, and we imported a single p2 clip. We exported a sequence with this clip as an omf with all the same settings, and this time it worked. The four tracks were different in Pro Tools when the OMF was imported. So it seems that the complexity of our project, or some setting that we are not aware of but have been altered by a mistake has made this project impossible to export correctly as an omf.
But if there are any solutions to this we would be deeply grateful!
    thnx

  • Audio Issues Upon Importing - the more I have, the slower they play

I have searched in vain for an answer to this problem. I have a 15" Powerbook Aluminum, 1.5 Ghz G4 w/ 1.25G RAM and 10 GB available on the harddrive.
I am working with iMovie 6 with all my movie files on a LaCie external drive connected using a FW800 connection. 195GB capacity, with about 20GB being used up with iMovie files.
Here's my issue. When I import video alone into a project, we have joy. When I try to add audio clips (either AIFF or MP3), the playback slows to a crawl, the video is severely stuttery and the audio is distorted and plays at about half speed (like playing a 33rpm LP at 16rpm).
If I delete the video and import the audio clips, same issue w/slowness and distortion.
If I import the audioc clips singly, they play and sync well with the video to a point, but there's a threshhold at which the playback begins to degrade and the audio issues return.
Very frustrating. Who can point me to some likely culprits? Of, and this began happening in iMovie 5. I was hoping iMovie 6 would solve. no joy.

  • Recording and importing Audio in 24Bit/48KHz...not working??

I cant figure out how I can set my project to 24bit/48....
I need to record and import Audio in 24/48 in my project.
I've already set Settings/Assets/Convert audio file sample rate when importing.....but when I drag an apple loop from the Media/Loops....it doesn't convert at all......it still show 16/44.1 in the bin.
I'm really lost here....and can't figure a way to set my project into 24/48. Am I missing something here? I use to be a Cubase user and Cubase does converts the files that I imported to my project.I understand that if I press control C in the audio file that I imported in the bin and that will change to what ever bits or KHz that I want to,but this isn't helping cause when I import the audio file, the file is already in the tempo of the project, but if I convert audio file from the bin.... the tempo will change due to the difference in Bit.
    Please help me out here...Thanks!

    Pancenter,
Thank you for the reply. Yes, according to the specs on page 73 of the Mac Pro User Guide (http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/Mac_Pro_UserGuide.pdf), it is spec'd to record 24-bit @ 48 kHz & 96k Hz. Here is the text from that page:
    Optical digital audio in
Based on a typical situation with playback of 1 kHz, 0dBFS 24-bit sine wave, unless
    otherwise specified below.
Â Input sample rate: 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, or 96 kHz
    Â Signal-to-noise ratio: Greater than130 dB
Â Total harmonic distortion + noise: Less than -130 dB (0.00001 percent)
    Additional specs include:
    Optical Digital Audio Specifications
    Â Data format: Sony/Phillips Digital Interface (S/PDIF) protocol (IEC60958-3)
Â Connector type: TOSLINK optical (IEC60874-17)
    Â Bits per sample: 16-bit or 24-bit
Therefore, I interpret these specs as saying that the Mac Pro is spec'd to record 24/96 without the need for a third party audio card.
Please reply back if you have a different interpretation or you concur with mine. I am interested as I have escalated the issue to the Apple's executive level and am open to being wrong if that is the case. In July, Apple Corporate Customer Relations informed me that engineering was able to duplicate my problem and are working on a fix. This month, Executive Customer Relations informed me that they are not able to address the problem at this time. I informed them that I consider Apple to be in breach of contract.

  • Bootcamp 3.1 and imac windows 7 64bit update not installing. Audio issues!

After many days of work getting the windows 7 working in bootcamp in my imac 27 (still with audio issues) I eagerly awaited the bootcamp update and imac updates.
    Neither will install.
Then I find that according to tech support as of now I have to reinstall Windows 7 again for the updates to work!
It took me 5 full 8 hours days to get all my scientific programs installed and working, now I find I can't even simply update the drivers I need. I don't want to reinstall.
    My only issues are audio.
    Here they are:
    1) The headset jack works fine on the Mac side, but in Windows 7, it causes the i7 intel CPU to go crazy. There is no CPU spike on the mac side.
    2) The headset jack in the imac is a trrs jack. The same as in the iphone, a tri-band jack that has three bands, two audio out channels and one mic in channel. A trrs headset works fine on the mac side with using the headset mic (as in iphone) rather than the built in mic. (this provides much better quality for sound recording). I don't want to use a usb mike.
In Windows 7 the mic part of the trrs headset does not work.
    3) In Windows 7 when going into audio devices recording, no audio mixer shows up, so when I do video or audio screen capture the only way to capture the sound is through the speakers and then back through the imac built in mic, rather than directly through the unit. (terrible sound quality) On the mac side the mixer element works fine.
Now I find from other imac users that even the new updates for the imac on windows 7 don't address and fix the audio issues. I am sure not going to go through 5 more days work only to find the audio issues still don't work.
I need these audio aspects to work properly though!
I have tried to get drivers for the cirrus logic audio card, but guess what there are none available and cirrus logic doesn't even recognize the board or offer drivers.
I have many windows programs I must have for my scientific research!I bought the top of the line Imac with all the bells and whistles because Apple promised that the machine could run Windows 7 in bootcamp natively!
It doesn't. This has been a nightmare of problems.
Is Apple going to step up to the plate and make good on their promises?
Does any one have a fix for any of the audio issues, or know how to install the new drivers without a complete reinstall of Windows?
Installing a few sound drivers and software should not require a complete reinstall. Getting the proper drivers for the headset jack audio in and audio out jack should be the most basic of fixes. Making the audio mixer work should be elementary.
If you are an Apple tech person or an Apple user that can help on these issues, please do!
    Thanks, Dr. Duke
    An American profesor in Europe.
PS I will post this under Imac windows 7 updates without a reinstall and under
    imac Sound issues.

On another thread a few people have responded saying that their imac has the same situation, the cpu is going crazy and the imac gets hot with headphones or speakers plugged in. But this doesn't happen in the mac side.
If you have an late 2009 imac and don't have these audio issues, let us hear from you. If you don't, lay out the problem here.
Here is my last two cents in to the inquiry.
Not only does the cpu run crazy but the imac 27 gets very, very hot. Since I unplugged the headphones, it runs much, much cooler.
Certainly, some Mac engineers should take care of this problem, it seems it is universal on all the imac 27's and from what I gather, the smaller screened cousins too.
Also, we certainly want a stereo mix option for audio in or out, or what is called "what you hear" or wave out. Imac is supposed to be much geared to multimedia apps.
Finally, the mic jack part of the trrs set up MUST be fixed! A lot of manufacturers are going to headset combo jacks as they call them, mic in and stereo out on the same tribanded plug. But, the old single jack for mic in and single jack for stereo out are two tiny parts of the hardware and super inexpensive for the manufacturer. Why in the **** to go to the "advanced" triplug if the **** thing doesn't work.
Mac has a great reputation. I hope they remedy these problems right away.
Anyone whose imac 27 or 24 whose headset plug is working correctly. Let us know! I don't think anyone's is, but I think that few people understand that their cpu is running so much faster with the plug in, plus few even understand the combo jack and the triband, or trrs audio jack! Out of 4 audio technicians I talked to, not one of them knew what a trrs jack was or that you even have a mic in jack as part of the headset jack!
When I told one senior that it worked on the Mac side, he didn't believe for a while, thought my sound might be recorded from the onboard mic, but I proved it to him by tapping iaudibly on my iphone mic headset and and it showing up in garage band clearly and listening to big difference in audio.
As for a usb audio adapter, I am in a neon light environment and find that those adapters are more sensitive to electrical interference. Besides I want to use the headset jack as it was meant to be used!
    Thats it.
Again, if anyone using an imac 27 and windows 7 64 or 32 doesnt have these problems, let us know! We are all anxious for a fix!
    Best to all!

  • IMovie audio issues. Fine in timeline, but when rendering to iTunes or Media Browser, audio from certain portions of movie files are heard in places where it shouldn't be !

iMovie 11  audio issues. Fine in timeline, but when rendering to iTunes or Media Browser, audio from certain portions of movie files are heard in places where it shouldn't be !
I have created a project where I have a montage of photos and video clips edited together with music under. Some audio portions of the video files are being muted in some areas and those portions are being heard in another part of the project. This is not for all video clips only certain ones.
The project plays fine in the timeline, but when I render the project thru iTunes or Media Browser, this is when the project goes corrupt.
I tried detaching the Audio from the video clips and this somewhat worked, but the original problem still exists with certain audio still being heard where it's not supposed to be.

    I have a fix - or rather, a workaround.
WARNING: It is lengthy, but still far better than starting a new project from scratch.
I had this same issue and none of my transitions/clips were at custom speeds, nor did I have anything else weird going on. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do within iMovie to fix this, at least there wasn't for me. iMovie is BY FAR the buggiest software I have ever used and if you haven't already spent hours slaving away on a project, you are so much better off using just about anything else to edit your video.
...But let's assume you have already spent many hours working on your project and you don't want to start all over. Well then, you have at least one option.
It's a pain in the neck, but it's infinitely better than restarting your project from scratch.
    This will require:
A software called Soundflower (which is free) and some kind of audio editing software (I use Logic, but really any should work).
1.) You're going to need to export your video with the messed up audio. Typically if you're audio is messing up, you're video is at least usually working just fine (at least it always does for me).
2.) You're going to need to open that video in your audio software and import only the audio. If your software doesn't give you this option, then you're going to need to record the audio from your video using the audio software and Soundflower. You can find tutorials on how to do this, but it's honestly pretty straightforward once you start playing around with you Mac's audio I/O settings. Remember to have your computer's volume all the way up when doing this.
3.) Watch/listen to your video and make notes of where the audio errors occur. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND writing down times too,  as they will be extremely helpful later.
4.) Now were going to rip some working audio from the iMovie project itself. Go back into your iMovie project and only play back audio while in the edit window for this step. Do NOT play your project back in full screen.
This part is key: if you try to play back your project from the beginning the audio will usually still mess up. So, what you're gonna have to do is go back on your edit window timeline right before these errors occur and play that specific clip back while recording this working audio with Soundflower and your audio software. Essentially we're only recording the parts of the audio where these errors occur, so try to do this in order if you can. Try to leave several seconds of audio in before the error - that way we can use it as reference when we construct our new audio track.
5.) Now in your audio software you should have your original error-filled audio track and the new clips that we just captured. This part can be painstaking if you're not familiar with audio editing softwares, but as you'll learn, it's really not that hard.
You're going to look at your original audio track and compare it to your new working audio clips. You should be able to notice where those new clips are supposed to go by looking at the identical (or close to identical) waveform shapes in your original audio track. The two should correspond with one another. If you don't understand what I mean right now, you will when you start playing around with the audio. This is why marking times is very important.
Take your new clips and split them up if you haven't already, that way you can drag them around and edit them separately from one another. Essentially your going to line these new clips up with original and then replace the original parts with new ones.
We need to get this as precise as possible, so start off by getting them as close as you can with your naked eye, and then use a zoom tool to zoom in as much as possible so that you can get them lined up PERFECTLY, or at least extremely close. In some softwares you can just drag these new clips on top of the old track, but most of the time you will need to actually cut out the old piece and replace it with the new one. In doing this, zoom in and make sure that you are NOT cutting out a bigger space than your new clip will fill - otherwise you will have small gaps in your audio.
VERY IMPORTANT: Also make sure that this new audio track starts at the EXACT SAME time as your original - otherwise your new audio will be out of sync.
I know this part can really suck if you're not used to audio editing, but at this point, there is little other choice.
6.) Once you are done with this, export your newly pieced together audio track.
7.) Now open iMovie and create a NEW project. Re-import the video that you exported earlier that has the messed up audio. This might take a while, so just be patient.
8.) Then right click the clip and select "Detach Audio". This will do just that - allowing you to edit the audio separately from the video. Now delete this audio.
9.) Now, import the new, perfect audio track that we just made and make sure that it starts at the start of the project. Make sure it's in sync and that everything works.
Now just export your new video with the working audio and you should be done. Since we have given iMovie the audio with no editing actually being done in iMovie, it does not have to generate its own audio now and you should have absolutely no errors now - unless there is some that you forgot to take out earlier.
    YOU'RE FINALLY DONE!!!
I know this entire process *****, but if you're that far into your project, there is little else that you can do. Now you've learned your lesson:
    DON'T USE IMOVIE EVER AGAIN.
    I hope this helped!

  • Import audio from movie problem

Every time I import audio from a movie in Logic X, there is a glitch at the beginning of the audio. I just switched from 9 and never had this problem before. Anyone else experiencing this? I think it's a bug that needs to be fixed.

Its quite possible this problem is being caused by one of several audio file related issues in the current OS X 10.9.2  that apparently are fixed in 10.9.3
You can find out for yourself by installing the Public beta seed of 10.9.3 found here....
    OS X Beta Seed Program
(Remember to make a full backup of your existing system drive before installing the beta OS X)

  • More Audio issues...

Along with the sounds / tones truncating / cutting off, I was listening to some mp3's today and the sound was constantly cutting in and out of stereo mode.  Left ear worked most of the time, right ear worked maybe 1/4th of the time.  Whatever happened to the sound coding in the latest update, it needs to be fixed.
