P2 card transfer to Mac

Does anyone have the right drivers for this?  Want to avoid having to play this footage out, need to transfer files.  Not getting a connection from Mac Pro to camera.
Thanks!

SHANE.  Now, I understand thinking it is Sean when I introduce myself to people in person. I get this ALL THE TIME.  They might hear Sean...or think Sean after going "what is that guys name?"  Because Shane isn't all that common. But when it is WRITTEN there for you to see?  How can you say Sean?
There is no separate driver for the cameras.  They all use the same driver for the card.  If you shoot DVCPRO HD and AVCIntra...you need the base driver, plus the AVCIntra driver.

  • 4x NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT cards in a Mac Pro run below max supported speed

    Hi,
We have 4 "identical" NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT 256MB cards in one Mac Pro (to support 8 DVI monitors for a Network Operations Center). One card came with the system, the other cards were purchased from Apple at the same time. This was a refurbished computer, so we didn't have the build-to-order option. I put identical in quotes because they seem to have different ROM revisions.
The system mainly shows graphs on webpages and HP OpenView (via X11), so no heavy-duty gaming or refreshes.
We have been running with 6 monitors for the past 4 months with the following monitors:
    - 1x 42" LCD with 1280x768, 32 bit color, DVI
    - 5x 22" LCD with 1680x1050, 60Hz, 32 bit color, DVI
When I restart the system, at least one of the 22" monitors takes 5 or 10 minutes of flashing on then off (mostly off) before it finally syncs up and shows a constant image. The 42" LCD won't go to its native resolution (can't recall what that is right now), so have to go down to a less optional 1280x768. In the next day or so, I'll be connecting one more identical 22" LCD and then soon after another 42" monitor, but am wondering if they will work. Yesterday, I saw a post about firmware update for this video card (http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/geforce7300gtfirmwareupdate.html). I also noticed that two of the cards have ROM Revision 3008 and two have 3011 ROM Revision of the cards (in System Profiler). I'm not sure yet if this firmware update increases the ROM Revision.
Running the Expansion Slot Utility (/System/Library/CoreServices/) shows that my PCI Express profile is set to Two x8 Lane + Two x4 Lane slots. All slots say that they are running below maximum speed.
The store.apple.com site still shows this configuration as a valid build-to-order, but I wonder if they do something different or extra.
Does anyone else have experience with 4 of these video cards with this many monitors?
Any experience with the Firmware Upgrade that I should know about?
    Thank for any insight!

I notice that the flasher is connected to a card with ROM revision 3011, the later one.
    I noticed this too.
    now, to the slot profiles.
    you say;
"The first one that I enter is the one to the right (looking from the back of the system)."
so you mean that the mac is laying on its side and your in the back, and what you call 'slot 1' is to the right? is that correct?
No, the system is upright, but the cards are horizontally seated. Pardon my ascii art, but here's the layout if I look from the back of the Mac Pro:
    | DVI DVI ---->> slot 4
    | DVI DVI ---->> slot 3
    | DVI DVI ---->> slot 2
    | DVI DVI ---->> slot 1
So, there are two DVI ports on each card (which is in a slot). I'm not sure which lane is which.
Either the left (as pictured) is lane 1, or the right (as pictured) is lane 2.
i ask because i'm wondering if your reproducing the way the expansion slot utility is graphically portraying it. I'm pretty sure the utility is showing the slots as if the mac is upright and the person is looking into the side of it with the access panel off.
    Okay, sounds logical!
if you say that you have two x4 lanes and two x8 lanes, then i'm deducing that your flasher is on an x4 lane, and as it is, one of your x8 lanes has only one lonely monitor on it.
    Probably correct.
    In my utility window, it is the fourth configuration, so you would have at the moment;
    slot4__x4__22" and 22"
    slot3__x4__42" and 22" flasher
    slot2__x8__22" and empty
    slot1__x8__22" and 22"
I think that you have 2 and 3 reversed.
    i would suggest trying the third configuration thusly;
    slot4__x8__22" and 22"
    slot3__x1__22" and empty
    slot2__x8__42" and 22" flasher
    slot1__x8__22" and 22"
in other words, check off the third configuration in the utility, then
exchange the connections on the second and third cards, leaving the first and fourth cards be.
    Okay, will do.
as far as running below max speed, i figure as long as your workload doesn't suffer, then its fine.
Oh, and another question, does it always, always flash when you boot-up?
Do you guys shut down the system every night?
We rarely reboot it, and I'm not the only one that would see it reboot. This system is in a 24x7 Network Operations Center. I just know that rebooting takes a while for the monitor to come up all of the way.
Thanks for all of your help and guidance so far!
    David

  • How does having 2 Graphics Cards in a Mac pro help if it doesnt have something like Crossfire??

    Hi,
I am thinking of buying a Mac pro for visual effects & graphics work.
My question is quite simple, what are the benifits of having to graphic cards in a Mac Pro,
For instance, i am thinking of putting in a Quadro 4000 with a 5870 in my mac pro.
now is it possible for me to set say the ATI 5870 for powering my display and my Quadro 4000 for graphic processing tasks such as rendering stuff, and so on and so forth.
    Any thouights will be great.
    Cheers.
    Ani

You need to find a way to add 3rd aux power connector.
Mac Pro only comes with a mere 2 6-pin connectors, not a lot of power.
Apple has had multiple problems with Nvidia drivers, with support, with say using two 4000s together, which sounds nice and makes more sense (and especially if one wants to run Windows at all where mixing ATI and Nvidia use to be against all the rules, now it seems like it is an Apple issue).
Yes, there can be processing improvements, Adobe Mercury Engine for one, CUDA still has advantage over ATI-Apple OpenCL.

  • Can't create a wireless network without a wireless card on my Mac

    Help!
O.k. I tried searching the forums for an answer but the odd nature of my problem, and the immense database of topics made it very difficult to find a similar post.
    The general issue/idea:
Run a wireless network using Airport Extreme - Connect desktop mac via ethernet and Roku player via wi-fi. Can't get the desktop mac to connect via ethernet when I restart the network/Airport Extreme.
My Father in law has my old computer; It's a PowerMac G5 (Dual 1.8GHz CPUs) running OS 10.5.8), connected to internet via cable (TimeWarner) modem. It does NOT have an Airport or Airport Extreme card installed. The computer works fine, and I don't believe that I 'need' an Airport Card in order to use the Airport Extreme (it's a brand new/refurbished model) in the manner described below.
I would like to use the Airport Extreme to generate/run a wireless network (Do I need an Airport Card in order to generate/run a wireless network? Doesn't the AE actually do that?), connect the desktop Mac to the network via Ethernet (I shouldn't need an Airport Card to do that, should I?) and connect a 'Roku Player (802.11g capable) to the network via wi-fi.
As far as I know, this should be possible.
    Basic steps/as I understand them:
    A. Connect ethernet from cable modem to AE.
    B. Connect ethernet from AE to desktop Mac.
    C. Create the wireless network using desktop Mac and Airport Utility.
    D. Restart AE to start the wireless network running.
    E. Connect Roku to wireless network over wi-fi.
I have no problems with A & B. Once the AE is connected to the desktop Mac, I'm able to get internet via ethernet as it passes through the AE. I can then create a wireless network (step C.) using the Airport Utility (and setup assistant). The problem starts after I've configured the wireless network.
Once I've configured the wireless network, the Airport Utility software prompts me to restart the AE in order to start the wireless network.
As soon as I restart the AE, my desktop Mac tries to connect to the 'wireless' network, even though it's already connected via ethernet. I don't have a wireless card in the Mac, and I don't want to connect the desktop using wi-fi/wireless. It's connected via ethernet, works fine during configuration, and I don't ever anticipate a desire to connect the desktop via wi-fi.
No matter what I do, I can't get the desktop to connect via ethernet. The only network connection option I'm offered is 'Rescan'. O.k. the desktop can't find the wireless network (because it doesn't have a wireless card), and I'm unable to continue with the Airport Utility. I can't make any further changes to the network (the options to manually change the network configuration are not available as the desktop Mac cannot currently talk to the AE - It's still trying to connect wirelessly), and the desktop has no internet connection as it's trying to connect wirelessly.
    *How can I...*
*Setup/run a wireless network, while keeping the desktop Mac connected via ethernet?*
I'm perfectly willing to factory reset the AE and start over.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thwarted by the network.

That is correct, you could connect the PowerMac G5, via Ethernet, to the AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) or any other wired router for Internet access. You do NOT need an AirPort Card for wired access ... ONLY if you want the G5 to connect to a wireless network.
I would like to use the Airport Extreme to generate/run a wireless network (Do I need an Airport Card in order to generate/run a wireless network? Doesn't the AE actually do that?)
That is correct, the AEBS is a wireless router that can provide a wireless network. The AirPort Card, on the other hand is a wireless adapter used to allow a Mac to connect to a wireless network, created by any wireless router ... not just those provided by Apple.
Yes, these are all good assumptions.
As soon as I restart the AE, my desktop Mac tries to connect to the 'wireless' network, even though it's already connected via ethernet. I don't have a wireless card in the Mac, and I don't want to connect the desktop using wi-fi/wireless.
Do you actually have an AirPort Card installed in the G5 now? If so, then it might be possible that the "firing order" for network connectivity has AirPort at the top of the list under System Preferences > Network. Just change the order to have Ethernet at the top and disable AirPort to ensure that the G5 connects by Ethernet only.

  • How to setup a network setup with an airport extreme card in a mac pro

I have installled an airport extreme card in my mac pro. Restarted the mac. The AP black triangle appears on right top of the screen. If I activate the AP than the a light grey triangle appears, with grey bars. I can create a network, than the triangle becomes dark grey with an kind of black computer icon in the grey area. The signal strength shows all blue bars.
I have two other wireless networks (linksys and another for streaming music) both are working and detected by my imac. But the mac pro does not detect these networks.
I would have thought that the two networks would be detected automatically.
Please some advice to solve this problem
Imac G5; Mac pro   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

You won't believe this, but the card is a crock. Mine was installed by an Apple tech at an Apple store. He obviously did not check out reception.
At home, I tried setting this up right next to a Netgear wireless router (2 feet away!), and got no signal bars. Yet I pull the cover off the machine and I get 4 bars and can connect to an 802.11g network. This stinks. What idiot at Apple designed a card where the antenna is a 1" square piece of metal? Could this be an emi cage? Where did they hide the so-called "built-in" antenna. Who knows?
See if you can aim the back of the machine toward the wireless router. There is a back door into this mother, through the fan(ny) opening.

  • Apple Raid Card panic on Mac Pro Early 2008 after installing SSD as an enhanced JBOD.

I recently installed a SSD drive in my Mac Pro to replace an aging, original boot drive.  I have an Apple raid card with 3 other hds attached - all in an enhanced JBOD configuration.  After installing the SSD from OWC (3G Electra SATA II Compatible) everything appeared to work fine.  But after 36 hours I received a apple raid card kernel panic alert.  See below for diagnostic crash log.  OWC support says that their drive should work fine - now I am not so sure.  Anyone out there with suggestions/solutions is most welcomed.

RE: Mac Pro Replacement Graphics cards
    1) Apple brand cards,
    2) "sold in the Apple store" cards, and
    3) "Mac Edition" cards ...
... show all the screens, including Boot up screens, Safe Mode, Installer, Recovery, debug screens, and Alt/Option boot screens. At this writing, these choices include:
    1) Apple brand cards:
    • Apple-firmware 5770, about US$250** works near full speed in every model Mac Pro, Drivers in 10.6.5
    • Apple-firmware 5870, about US$450
    2) "sold in the Apple store" cards
    • NVIDIA Quadro 4000, about US$1200
    • NVIDIA Quadro 5000, about US$2500
    3) "Mac Edition" cards -- REQUIRE 10.8.3 or later:
    • SAPPHIRE HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 MAC Edition, about US$480** Vendor recommends Mac Pro 4,1
    • EVGA GTX 680 Mac Edition, about US$600
The cards above require no more than the provided two 6-pin aux power connectors provided in the Mac Pro through 2012 model. Aux cables may not be provided for third-party cards, but are readily available.
If you are Meet ALL of these:
    • running 10.8.3 or later AND
    • don't care about "no boot screens" etc AND
    • can re-wire or otherwise "work out" the power cabling, THEN:
You can use many more cards, even most "PC-only cards"

  • I need to get a new wifi card for my mac air. do i have to buy this from a apple store? i live fare away from an apple store.

I spilled some red wine on my keyboard and i cannot connect to the internet any more. it says on the internet icon: Wi-fi: no harware installes. so i guess i need to get a new wifi card for my mac air. do i have to buy this from a apple store? i live fare away from an apple store. Also, I do have a macbook with software system:
System Version:          Mac OS X 10.6.8 (10K549). can I take out the wifi card from that mack and use that one for my mac air?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Consider yourself lucky that your MacBook is still working. Now, turn it off. Wine may have damaged other parts of your computer.
Then, take the MacBook to an Apple Store or reseller. It will be a very expensive repair, as it's not covered by warranty and the logic board has to be replaced. In some cases, it may be better to get a new MacBook.
If you can't take it to an Apple Store, contact with Apple > http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57

how can i make magic bullet looks recognize my second graphic card in my mac book pro 2009

That model MBP gives you a choice of cards to use – one at a time. it is not designed for them to run in tandem - splitting up the workload.

  • Can I use the internal airport card of my Mac as a BRIDGE?

    * My Mac is part of my home network.
    * My wired Router provides NAT addressing for all wired computers and printers.
    Question:
Can I use the internal airport card of my Mac as a BRIDGE?
I am able to create a second LAN where the internal airport card, creates it's own network, but then the wireless computers are not on the same network as the wired.
If using an Airport Express, there is an option you can uncheck "assign IP address" that turns it into a bridge.... Is there anything similar with os X 10.4.3

my sd slot card of my mac don't work . i don't know why! can you help me

If it doesn't work with any sd card you insert into it then you can try a smc reset and a pram reset but if that doesn't work then the slot has failed. the only way to get that fixed is to replace the main circuit board, the logic board, which is very expensive. That is unless your mac still has a warranty on it then it would be free.
If you have no more warranty then just buy a sd card reader that connects to the computer by usb port.

  • Internet Cards for the Mac

I am wondering, does Apple manufacture Internet cards for the Mac? If the answer is no, which third-party-companies manufacture Internet cards that are compatible with the Mac? Which of those Internet cards are the best?

If you mean Cellular adapters there are several USB adapters (one from Sprint worked with my Mac no problem).  I would check with YOUR cellular carrier.

  • Blog photo transfer for Mac

On the Google blog site there is offered a free download enabling transfer of photos to a URL, from which it can then be placed in a blog. As per usual, it works for Windows only.
Does anybody know if there is such a "service" offered anywhere for blogs on a Mac using Safari?
I may be contacted at the following e-mail address: [email protected]
