P2 dvcprohd mxf dont read on qt nor fcp
i dunno which forum i should post this question. i'm shooting with a panasonic dvcprohd cam, directly onto a fs 100 (version 2). there are only 2 options, p2 (.mxf) or raw dv (.dv). I'm using macpro, fcp 6.0 (fc studio 2), qt 7.2 and i cant get the mxf nor dv files shown on computer.
i visited the focus website they said i need to upgrade the fs 100 to vers.3.
any idea that can solve prob faster? it's annoying cos we can go on shooting. Any help or hint would be great, thanx

for 3 days i have been readin n tryin n still dont know how to make it work. i need 2 things, to copy the contents of the FS 100 (100GB) to a G Raid as back up n later import to FC to edit. the FS is connected to GRaid via firewire GRaid connected to mac, they both show on desktop. the .dv files show as a quilt of colors, the .mxf wont even open.
my setting on FS 100:
record mode DVCPRO HD (as cam)
i tried both file formats ( mxf n dv) i organise p2 b4 importing, tried files, folders (content n lastfile.txt) but no avail. the files in content folder not recognised. the .dv files show with QT icon but wont open.
one stupid question, i must have tried in rage cos now i no longer see option panasonic p2 in import

MacBook Pro won't mount mxf card reader
Hi - I have a brand new MacBook Pro. I need to import some footage on MXF cards. I usually use Content Browerser to do this. I have a card reader and thunderbolt cable which work on another MacBook Pro. But it will not mount the card reader at all. I can't see the files or device. Is there something else that I need to install for the card reader to be able to show up?

MXF frame read errors and general render errors since update to CC
Hi there folks,
Being a Creative Cloud member for a while now I share the benefits of immediate updates of CC products. However, I also get to deal with the downsides, it seems.
Since I updated to CC versions of the entire Adobe Collection I experienced unprecedented trouble with After Effects. I'll mention the most pertinent errors:
- I used to render short compositions to uncompressed HD Quicktime, functioning as a master render for future sorts of output for my clients or just to have optimum quality before further conversions. For some reason AE CC has been generating all sorts of video dropouts lately, especially when audio render is set to 'auto'. Furthermore I noticed that the only audio res that I can choose in case of an uncompressed QT render is 8000 Hz. This is new in AE CC, I don't understand the reason for this modification since the previous AE versions never had this limitation.
I must mention the fact that other output formats and codecs also suffer from dropouts, be it less frequently than QT uncompressed.
- Imported MXF files from my customers which I incorporate in AE compositions are also full of dropouts. Every dropout shows up as a single frame (two fields) of red or black. Premiere Pro encounters the same problem and reports the dropouts as frames with a read or decode error. I checked some older MXF files in previous AE projects that have been rendered and delivered perfectly in the past, but these old MXFs now appear to have the same issue. I tested the older and the new MXF on another PC that wasn't updated to CC versions and found no dropouts at all. Something must have changed in the updated codecs that belong to the CC version. All MXFs play fine in VLC player on all systems, so it's not the video source being faulty. Anyone recognize this?
I do get notifications of CC product updates, but is there a way to just update the codecs? Maybe there is a better codec for MXF.
Any help is truy appreciated!Like often, it's better to wait a little until there's enough people experiencing the same problem. So everyone here: thanks for responding to my post! In the end it seems to have helped, considering the update of Adobe. I am still a little precautious, because some MXFs give no red frames at all (input side I'm talking about) and others still do, but then the strange thing is that scrubbing the MXFs forth and back a bit results in having less red frames to none at all in the end. The red frames now disappear and then re-appear on different points in time of the MXF file, whereas I always found them being bound to specific and unchanging points, especially on the first frame of a scene change for instance.
Anyway, Adobe Media Encoder is not suffering from this problem, so there is a workaround, converting the footage before using it in AE and Premiere. That's good enough for now. But the problem hasn't vanished yet. Another problem that I had with rendering uncompressed HD Quicktime videos that always generated dropouts has all of a sudden magically disappeared. Thanks Adobe. I see progress. -
After my laptop crashed the second day of class, I had to send it away for repair for 8-12 weeks. I have had to reset it up from scratch and have set-up Firefox. There is a online college math program that they recommend using Firefox with. In the past I have never had a problem with Adobe anything. The program also requires the newest Adobe Flash Player and Reader. I have repeatedly tried downloading, rebooting and restarting the the downloaded .exe files for both (making sure there is only one version running at a time in the file folder and in task manager background). I have used all possible settings for adobe products permissions to work across all firewall, antivirus, web protection, Mozilla and my computer systemin general, even Internet Explorer (Hate it).
The files download to my downloads file folder through Firefox, however, when I double-click to install them I get the "Do you want to run", "yes", then "Windows smartscreen is unavailable do you want to run anyway, "Yes", then absolutely nothing happens. No wizards, no installing, nothing or I get a "Only one single instance of this file must run." and again nothing. Tried it with nothing open, but the "install" and with the browser open. Neither works. It's usually listed in |Task Manager Background apps, but uses no memory, no CPU, nothing.
I've also tried contacting the school program's IT division (3 hours) nothing, the program itself's IT department (2 hours and they disconnected me) or the best anyone could offer was use another browser. Can't get the only other option, Chrome, to work on my computer at all! I've tried all Mozilla and Adobe support/knowledge bases/zines, etc... I'm just a Joe schmo not a developer or IT person and a 4 finger typist at best. What I am is 2 weeks behind in my online class and ready to pitch the f#$***g thing across the room. I was able to borrow a laptop from a friend until I got mine back, but that isn't an option anymore.
Also tried finding an older version - no luck, All support sites keep telling me to find the Firefox "Adobe Plug-in" and just update from there. I have searched all Mozilla Plug-ins, add-ons, etc... but nothing, just download(s) for non-adobe flash players that the math program won't use. No matter How much I try to get it to.

In the first table, there are two rows for Windows: one for the ActiveX control for IE, and one for the plugin for Firefox. You might want to grab both. And try the .msi files instead of the .exe files to see whether those work better.
Will either of those install?
It's odd that on a newly rebuilt system your More System Details shows that you have a user.js file, which is an optional settings files used to override your previous session settings. This is not part of the standard Firefox installation, so if you did not create that file yourself, you may want to investigate or delete it. Interactive button in PDF file doesn't work with Adobe Reader for Mac nor Acrobat Pro
Hello!
I've to use a interactive form which has an interactive button that is supposed to send that form by email. If I open that PDF with my iPhone or iPad with the PDF Expert App, it works perfectly, but for any strange reason, when I try to open that same PDF in my Mac with Adobe Reader or Acrobat pro, that button doesn't do anything.
Can this be a configuration error?
Thanks!The problem is deeper than that. It's not reader. Now the same form I was creating in LifeCycle Designer ES2 yesterday, with the actions working perfectly, no longer work. None of the actions are working.
Could it be realted to me trying to set the default version compatibility to Adobe 7. It gave me warnings, so I set it back to 9.
Any help would be appreciated. -
Adobe Reader not opening nor allowing PDF to open
Hi there.
I just downloaded Adobe Reader 11.0.06 to my mac. When I try to open the application nothing happens and when I try to read/download a PDF file from any given site it gives me the following message:
''Before viewing PDF documents in this browser you must launch Adobe Reader and accept the End User License Agreement, then Quit and relaunch the browser.''
As I am trying to work on my dissertation, this really kind of sucks.
I have tried to re-install it etc but nothing happens
Can anybody help?You need to do what the message says, that's all. You are in good company, several people a week are baffled by this message, something which honestly baffles me. Still, it's obviously bad design if it isn't intuitive.
To launch an any app, just open a Finder window and look for Applications in the left hand column. Look in it and all your applications are there.
Double click on Adobe Reader to launch it. If there is more than one shown, launch and quit each one in turn. -
Read from spreedsheet file dont read the file correctly
Hi, i have the problem that i want to show my voltage output (4 channels) on a graph, by saving the data (the saving process is in a SubVI) on the PC and reloading it in the mainVI when all actions are done. If i open the file with a editor, like UltraEdit, the data looks right, but on the graph, some parts of the voltage output are shown wrong (as vertical instead of horizontal line)... Anyone got a idea why? or how to fix it?

I don't understand what your VI's purpose is. Why are you continuously reading the file in a loop? Is this something you created on the fly for demonstration? If so, the Read From Spreadsheet File needs a True wired to the transpose? input. The graph is showing you exactly what's in the data file. Look at your data. At line 66100 it jumps.

Playlist folders dont read correctly after import
On a new MacBkAir I transferred all my music files and then imported the Musicl library (.xml) and the playlists came through pretty well (about 10% I needed to hand enter the music files). But the folders - all of them an I have about 75 dividing up my music all came up with the list of ALL the music, and I can't erase them to hand enter them if I wanted to. On my other machine, clicking on the folder just showed the playlists in that category, now is all fof them.
Any ideas how to get the folders to show what's in them?Jeff,
"Copying" them when you drag them means OSX thinks (or they really are) on a different drive from your home dir.
When you Command-I the file or folder it should show the path. And while you can change some ownership in that dialog, you cannot change everything (ACL).
So, if you find its path, open terminal and RM it!
Have you rebooted it yet? should not matter,but ya never know. -

Here is my general guideline for uncaught exception errors:
There's pretty much no diagnosing those -- they are the equivalent of the random errors in Windows for which tracing the root cause is fruitless. Basically, these are the last out in the programming code -- some event occurred for which there is no handler in the code. The fix is a code update that handles the event...but, again, knowing what the event is is pretty much impossible. So, there are a few things to try:
Sometimes, the code simply becomes corrupt and needs to be refreshed -- just like a reboot:
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

The toughest possible cause is a badly behaving app. To find it, there are a couple of options. One is to see if you can read the log file:
Go to the home screen. Hold down the alt key and type 'lglg'. (You will not see anything while you type).This will bring up the log file. Scroll down (probably many pages) untill you see a line that says 'uncaught execption'. Click on this line. The name of the app will be in the info.
The other method is to remove apps one at a time, waiting a while in between (I usually recommend a week), until the problem ceases...thereby discovering the offending app.

My master collection dont read my disk 2
It ask me to put at one point the second disk, but it wont read it when it is in. All it just do when I press continue is to appear like it work for a second before asking again for the second disk... which is already in. Somebody could help me there? Also, it for cs6 version.

Mac book pro dont read ntfs drive
I have mac and Pc. to read my external drive I formated it with ntfs. it worked perfect. Today I cant read it anymore with my Mac Book Pro, but it works with the Mac Book Pro of my wife! I tried it 10 times.
NTFS-3G could not mount /dev/disk3s1
at /Volumes/Untitled because the following problem occurred:

It's so expensive, so I recommend you to buy an external disk and move the files you don't want on the computer here. It will be cheaper and you will be able to make backups of the files
