P2 footage not working .. am I missing something?

I import a P2 folder, I can see thumb nail res picture, but no actual video or audio and it says the file type is "Windows bitmap image". It complains when importing that these files are not supported... so it seems.
The question is how do I bring in my P2 footage to use?
FYI I did download the extra "drivers".. not sure if they are installed properly, but I did a reboot after downloading.

My Interactive reports on Apex 3.1.2 on 10g XE worked fine until one day I got the same issue with no known system changes. Fail on both IE and Firefox on multiple machines. Restarting Apex doesn't hep.

Hi.
I just upgraded to apex 3.1
I wanted to test the interactive reports functionality. I can create the region with the query and i can set all the things under "report attributes".
But when i run the page, i see the report with the initial data my query brings me up but i cant do anything. The search symbol is not clickable and the other symbol in the search panel is also not clickable.
Did my upgrade missed something ? Any java things missing ?
How can i chack if something is missing ?

Paste in Place in Photoshop CS6 is not working, am I missing something?

I've been using the Creative Suite since CS4, but still count myself as a beginner.
I'm building a psd file with vectors from an ai file. I recall that in CS5 and CS5.5 I had no issue copying a vector from Illustrator and then using "paste in place" to land it in the same relative spot on the Photoshop canvas. Today, my world has crumbled! Try as I might, I cannot get my vector shapes to "paste in place".
I am using Windows 7, service pack 1, and CS6 64 bit edition. Both Illustrator and Photoshop were entirely up to date as of today, and I'm in the midst of doing a reinstall, just in case that helps anything. I have already tried dumping the preference file, to no avail.
Having taken a look through the forums, it seems that Illustrator's clipboard has been handling data differently somehow, and I'm pondering whether this might be the culprit of my issue. However, copying and pasting in place within Illustrator seems to work fine, problems only arise when I copy from Illustrator into Photoshop.
I feel that I am likely missing something easy to overlook, and I would greatly appreciate some help.

I asked a friend about this issue, and he says that functionality was never there. Is that true? Perhaps it should be, it would be extremely useful. Even though I thought I recalled having done this in the past, I guess I must be mistaken.

Illustrator has a different origin behavior. There is a global origin and a per artbord origin. you need to fix the problem in AI.

Change your router channel. Sometimes this is all you will have to do.
Power cycling the router. Read the router's user manual or contact their tech support for instructions.
System Preferences/Internet & Network/Network
Unlock the padlock
Locations: Automatic
Highlight Airport
Click the Assist Me button
In the popup window click the Diagnostic button.
System Preferences/Network- Unlock padlock. Highlight Airport. Network Name-select your name. Click on the Advanced button. Airport/Preferred Networks-delete all that is not your network.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined." Click the OK button and lock the padlock. Restart your computer.

Check to see if an extra entry is present in the DNS Tab for your wireless connection (System Preferences/Network/Airport/Advanced/DNS).
Delete all extra entries that you find.

Usual mistake is to press the option key then click, hold and drag. Click and hold the mouse then press and hold the option key. Should work then.

Flash Player 11 Not Working, did I do something wrong?

Updated to Flash Player 11 on Friday, and everything that requires flash has not worked, youtube, etc. I tried to install flash 10.3 with no success, however I'm not sure if I made an error somewhere. Anyone else experiencing this issue? My browser is IE8, hope that helps.

Ok, I received your PM that you couldn't post here, that your system is 32-bit, and Shockwave Flash is enabled.
What I would do in your situation is go to http://forums.adobe.com/thread/909550 and download
the 32-bit uninstaller
the 32-bit installer
then close all browser windows and run the downloaded uninstaller, followed by the installer.
Can you see the Flash animation at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ after performing this?

I'm puzzled. Firefox on my home PC shows thumbnails of frequently-used pages in New Tab; same version of Firefox at work does not. Am I missing something?

I'm not sure if I can add any more details. There is apparently a way to have thumbnails of frequently-visited pages show when opening a new blank tab. It works at home, but is not enabled at work, and I can't figure out where that option is located.

When you open the desktop sync page (Tools > options > sync) does it look like the image below? If it does not then sync is not setup on the desktop computer.

New battery will not charge - have we missed something obvious?

My DD has just replaced the battery on her PB. When the power supply (less than 3 months old) is attached, the led shows amber but the battery will not charge. I've tried reseating the battery with no effect. Since I purchased it from an apple dealer, I'll be taking it back tomorrow, but I wondered whether there is something obvious we've missed.

Thank you both. Yes I know the battery needs to be calibrated, but as you say, to calibrate, you need to charge, which is a non-starter. I'm going to take the whole thing in (again). I suspect the problem that led to the battery needing to be replaced possibly dealt a death blow to something inside. I don't know whether this is relevant, but before replacing the battery, the charger started to make a loud buzzing noise (I understand - I wasn't here), and with the old battery in place the PB kept freezing and/or rebooting. Only with the battery out and just the power supply in would the PB work. The PB is seeing the new battery, it just wont charge it. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't anything else I could do before taking it in.

SSO is not working - User is missing credentials for connecting to alias

Dear Experts,
I am facing a strange problem in SSO with reference system user mapping. I have configured reference system user mapping for accessing R/3 for ESS/MSS and transactional iviews along with UWL. The SSO was configured 2 months ago and was working fine till yesterday.
Since this Monday, (2 days), the system connection tests are failing on connector. But, ESS/MSS & Transaction iviews with SAP Logon tickets are working fine. But, while trying to access UWL tasks, SSO is failing. Following is the error message -
"Exception occured Exception type:com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.connect.ConnectorException Message:Tue Aug 11 09:46:58 CEST 2009
(Connector) :com.sap.portal.connectivity.destinations.PortalDestinationsServiceException:User is missing credentials for connecting to alias <Aliassystem>. Contact your system administrator. "
I have created a destination for the respective backend in Visual Admin > node > services > Destinations as some tasks are not visible in UWL as per Note- 1133821, 2 weeks ago.It was working fine till yestreday. While testing from destinations, for Connected User(SAP Logon ticket Assertion ticket) , getting the error message -
Error During ping operation:Ticket contain no/an emplty ABAP user id(refer note 1159962). The destination is successfully connected with configured user.
But from the Tracecollector logs, I can see that the mapped user is set in the SAP Logon ticket and the User <ABCD> is existing in the target ECC system. More over, the SSO with refence system user mapping is working fine for ESS/MSS and Transaction based iviews. It is failing only for UWL tasks and also in system connection tests for connector. ITS was failing since the beginning.WAS is successful even now.
Trace file info -

OBN not working in portal 'missing Object ID' error

Hi,
We have implemented MSS though the portal, and am having problems with the org profile and position profile firing up via OBN from employee profile.
It works fine though NWBC, but for some reason not in the portal.
I get an ‘missing Object ID’ error.

Video Footage not working on my Mac but only on PCs.. i need it on the Mac!

I have uploaded movie footage from a JVC Everio and a Sony Vario-Tessar- both of which use the HDD (Hard Disk Drive) technology. The footage works perfectly on any PC computer however on my Macintosh when attempting to play them or edit them using Final Cut Pro the Sony footage plays but with no sound and the JVC footage claims it is not a movie file at all.
does anyone have any insight into thise i'm desperate to have this done by monday!
or can anyone give me a list of differend types of file names you can have for a movie file e.g. .MOV so that i can attempt to change file names etc.

you made a good choice, DVCPRO HD is an excellent intermediate compressed HD format to use when converting from your HDD based HD footage
in future, for woring with the Everio you might want to check out the following:
1) the QUICK TIME for Everio component from the CD-ROM that is supplied with the camcorder.
2) then update for the JVC Quick Time component for Everio which can be found at: http://www2.cli.co.jp/products/ne/updateqtc_for_gzhd7/qtc3eupdate.htm This update provides latest compatibility for up to QuickTime Version 7.4.5 and Mac OS X 10.5.2.
3) Easy Setup files for Final Cut Pro for 60i (for USA) need to be downloaded and installed from: http://www.everydayvideo.com/eng/GZHD3/indexqc.php
On the same page there is a tutorial link with individual sections for recordings made in FHD or SP/1440CBR modes. It shows you how to convert the file to either AIC (Apple Intermediate Codec), YUV (uncompressed) format or HDV1080i.

Postgresql installed but not working due to missing socket

So I installed Postgresql onto my Mac and whenever I run anything like psql or createdb cool_database_name I get the following error.
psql: could not connect to server: No such file or directory Is the server running locally
and accepting connections on Unix domain socket "/tmp/.s.PGSQL.5432"?
So I follow along the different solutions. I reinstall postgresql to no avail. I go to postgresql.conf` and change it to

Which tell me the file or directory does not exist.
I also check into the pg_hba.conf file but everything looks ok

I see this all the time, even when AV is configured to exclude the RemoteInstall folder.
To work around it I do:

Where ZZZ00011 is the package id of your boot image

Importing home recorded DVD footage not working. File names are grayed out.

I converted a VHS tape to a DVD with a machine my cousin owns. It all plays fine in DVD Player but I can't import the files into iMovie 09. All the filenames are grayed out in the import dialogue box.
How can I make it work?

I have a "VIDEO_RM" folder with (.BUP, .IFO, .VOB, BUP, .IFO, VOB,files)
Also hav"VIDEO_TS" folder with the same types of files.... none of the files are importable into iMovie 09 and none of them seem to work inside quicktime. But they do play in my VLC player.

Firewire Interface not working because of missing voltage

Hi,
I am using a Qutafire Firewire Interface for music production on my MacPro. I just got a new 17" MacBook Pro and wanted to connect it to the laptop. Unfortunatelly the Firewire 400 port doesn´t suooly enough power for the interface. - I tested it with the old macbook of my girlfriend and it is working as allways. I also tryed to connect it with several new Macbooks and Macbook Pros of my friends and it isn´t working there either. Can it be, that the new motherboards etc. don´t give support enough power to the firewire ports?
What can I do?

PS: Well I can connect the interface with the laptop using my taurus raid system (connect via FW 800) but, as soon as my Logic projects become bigger (more software instruments) the lantency arises, too.

How do you know the issue is insufficient power? Are you getting an error message to that effect?
Firewire is a standard and I have a hard time believing Apple would have violated the standard and provided sub-par power output from the MBP's ports. On the other hand, it could be that the Qutafire requires slightly more power than the FW spec allows for, and that older Apple notebooks were tolerant of the out-of-spec condition whereas the MBP is not. I have seen cases like that with USB.
Perhaps a small, portable, FW hub with its own power supply will be your best solution if you can't get it working any other way.
