P2P Audio Users Hear Themselves in Headsets

I'm encountering a problem where two users with headsets engaged in private audio chat in P2P can each hear themselves in their headsets as they talk.
If one user mutes the incoming audio stream, they can no longer hear themselves talk, but obviously can't hear the other user talk either. It almost seems like the incoming audio stream is somehow being combined with the outgoing stream in some way.
The microphone volume settings in Flash and the OS do seem to affect the amount of signal feedback and with enough adjustments (in the OS volume controls), it can usually be made imperceptible.
Both Echo Suppression and Microphone loopBack don't seem to affect the problem.

Hi,
Take a look at how the audio is pubishing in the  room.
If your broadcasting to everyone then people might hear themselves talk.
If you set up the audioSubscribers to the ID of the other person (audioSubcriber.publisherIDs = [LCCS ID of other user] ) that should make sure that only the other person is hearing you.
just make sure that you dont subscribe to yourself.
I dont think this would change if its P2P, but we had the same problem and that fixed it.

  • People keep hearing themselves through my headphones.

    Hello,
    Just before I explain my problem, I got to say that I have tried EVERYTHING that I could find in google.
    Suprisingly nothing helped.
    I have the following sound card: Creative X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity.
    Heaphones: SteelSeries 4H.
    Windows 7
    The problem is that whenever I use my microphone ( Ventrilo, Mumble, Skype, etc... ) people keep telling me that they can hear themselves through my headset.
    So whenever I play a video game of some sort, people report that they hear all the game sounds.
    Same goes to music and basically everything that I hear in my headphones is being transfered to my microphone.
    If I plug in the sound card the computer came with ( some kind of asus sound card ) People do not hear themselves through me.
    I had this issue for a long time now. It has the same problem on XP, so windows is not the issue.
    Hopefully someone can FINALLY help me with this crap.
    Thanks!

    It is a very odd problem indeed. I had the same soundcard, and had some problems with it.. nothing like that though. It really sounds like the microphone records with a "what u hear" setting.. Not sure what to do to fix it though :P Try lowering the settings on your soundcard and just have the windows 7 microphone settings on maybe? Or the opposite.

  • P2p audio video streaming throws permission error.

    hi,
    i am trying to do p2p audio video streaming using latest api & palyer version. But for guests, although the room has auto-promote=true, it throws permission error .
    Error: You need to have owner permissions for changing Multicast property
        atcom.adobe.rtc.sharedManagers::StreamManager/set streamMulticast()
        attraineravc/onSessionCreation()
        attraineravc/__cSession_creationComplete()
        atflash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction()
        atflash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent()
        atmx.core::UIComponent/dispatchEvent()
        atmx.core::UIComponent/set initialized()
        atmx.managers::LayoutManager/doPhasedInstantiation()
        atmx.managers::LayoutManager/validateNow()
        atmx.core::Application/resizeHandler()
    But when I login using my adobe developer account it seems to be working fine. (at least the above error is not show).
    What am I missing?

    Hi,
    You are trying to set streamMulticast property, and as it is a room level property you need to be a host to do that. Only users with owner role can set/unset multicast in a room.
    Its a one time setting and need not be set by each user. So removing the code that sets the streamMulticast by all guests would fix your issue.
    Thanks
    Arun

  • Jabber not support p2p audio on WebEx Connect.

    Hi, everyone.
    We have received complaints from customers in the WebEx Connect Client peer-to-peer audio functionality. We know Cisco's announcement, after April 3, 2015, a customer has to use Jabber on WebEx Connect. But Jabber doesn't have the peer to peer audio function.
    Customers to be continued use the WebEx Connect Client. Until Jabber with peer-to-peer audio functionality. I think customer claims is hot, and correct.
    Q1. Does Jabber plan to support the peer to peer audio function?
    Q2. We want to use continuous WebEx Connect Client, until p2p audio support on Jabber.
    We escalated to the Webex Customer success Manager, but difficult to change the situation. If this goes on, customers consider stopping the WebEx contract renewal. and considering Skype or LINE for free talk function :(

    Haven't been able to try a different speaker yet, but I can add that
    - I successfully used bluetooth with a car phone about a year ago
    - I have tried an iphone 5 with my soundbar, with same choppy/intermittent sound.
    - However, it works perfectly when I stream from my computer using bluetooth.
    Also, I have been in touch with Philips customer care, but I'm inclined to thinking the phone is the source of the problem... (Or, most likely, I am to blame..)

    I am using earphones, but the external audio of my mini ipad is still on. How can I turn off the external audio while listening with my headset/earphones?

    Other than iMovie, GB always incorporates the audio files into the GB package. So just save or move the GB project to the external drive, and you're done - anything you import, edit or record will be saved to the external drive.

    Everytime someone calls me or I call them, the person can hear themselves when talking to me. They hear themselves repeating what they just said to me and I have looked in my phone for a filter or something to turn it down, but all I know is how to turn the volume of the other person talks. • People can hear themselves when they call me

    I have a 8900 Curve which I connect via Bluetooth to mt car kit.  However when people phone me they can hear themselves talking.  This didn't happen on my previous phone.  I presume that the microphone on the blackberry is still picking up sound as well as the car kit.  Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?

    I have same problem and so does my gf. We have the Nokia Bluetooth car kit with BB C8900. I don't think it has anything to do with microphone on BB as I have tried moving the BB away from where I am when speaking. I turned the volume down on the actaul car kit itself. It does not get rid of the problem, but seems to help.

    Try plugging the headphones in and gently wiggling them around for a few seconds. It may be that the sensor that tells the iPhone that headphones are plugged in has gotten stuck. If this doesn't work, they try a reset (hold down Sleep/Wake and Home all the way until the Apple logo appears on the screen).

  • ALL flash audio not working with G930 headset unless audio jack plugged in once and activated

    Problem: Inexplicably and sporadically, ALL flash audio is mute in FF when using a wireless G930 headset connected to USB dongle (physically or wireless), but everything plays fine in Chrome and Explorer. I'm here to tell you what worked for the sake of others, and to make the FF team aware of a problem worth their attention.
    Statement: Everything is up to date. FF, extensions, Flash, Java, Windows. I uninstalled flash on FF and my machine and reinstalled on both. My headset audio device is correctly activated in WIndows Audio Devices - all other devices are deactivated.
    My current solution: I learned from a prior FF issue involving YouTube videos that YT has something called DASH playback, requiring you to plug in an audio cable to your machine, or the video won't play (WTF right?). An extension called "YouTube Center" fixes this by allowing you to turn off DASH playback. After plugging in a set of earphones into my computer's audio jack, I activated the audio device on the machine, and got audio through the earphones and headset. I then disconnected the earphones, and disabled the audio jack. Audio now works fine on the headset, and I've rebooted the machine, turned the audio jack back on, rebooted firefox multiple times to make sure. Currently, things are fine, but I'm reluctant to plug anything back into the jack.
    For some strange reason, FF seems to have trouble recognizing my G930 headset as a valid audio device, or that's my guess. The fact that everything is peachy in other browsers should narrow down the culprit.
    Hopefully this helps someone else, and we can find out what the core bug is to make things right.
    Ask any questions if you have them and I'll try to get back.

    Very nice work.

  • Mic live all the time (hear myself in headset speake

    I'm sure this seems like a newb question but here goes. I installed my Audigy 2 value in my new computer from my old one ( where it worked flawlessly). Now my mic is li've all the time and I hear myself in the headset speakers. When using Ventrilo or other voice com program ( with PTT being used) this leads to feedback. I'm pretty sure it's a Windows setting where I need to uncheck something but of course I can't find the bloody thing. Anyone bored enough to let me know where I can fix this really annoying problem?

    Just open your Audio settings icon (in Control Panel) and go to the Audio tab.
    In the first section, under Sound Playback, there will be a "Volume..." button. Click it and it should open a mixer.
    There will be a slider for microphone (or possibly line-in depending on where you plug it in at), and all you should have to do is put a check mark in the "Mute" option. This will keep your voice from playing back through your speakers when using your headset.

  • [SOLVED] Switch all audio input/output to USB headset

    Hi, I have a USB headset that I frequently plug/unplug from the computer. Is there a way to make it the default sound device when plugged, and automatically switch back to the motherboard's on-board audio device when unplugged?

    I have an Intel HDA 5.1 internal audio card, and a 5.1 USB headset, using the modules snd_hda_intel and snd_usb_audio respectively. The internal card is set as card 0, and the usb headset is set as card 1.
    I'm using ALSA right now, but I wouldn't have a problem switching to Pulseaudio if it's easier.
    EDIT: I used pulseaudio and solved it for applications that are not already playing sound (not shown on pavucontrol's Playback tab)
    I created a udev rule, which executes a script when card1 is inserted, since I know it is the USB sound device:
    SUBSYSTEM=="sound", KERNEL=="card1", ACTION=="change", RUN+="/home/stavros/bin/pulse-ins.sh"
    This script (pulse-ins.sh) executes another script as the current user:
    #!/bin/bash
    su -c "/home/stavros/bin/pulse_insert_card.sh & exit" stavros
    pulse_insert_card.sh contains the following:
    #!/bin/bash
    /usr/bin/pacmd set-default-sink alsa_output.usb-0d8c_USB_Sound_Device-00-Device.analog-surround-51
    /usr/bin/pacmd set-default-source alsa_input.usb-0d8c_USB_Sound_Device-00-Device.analog-stereo
    These 2 scripts and the udev rule automatically change pulseaudio's default output & mic input when the card is inserted. However, applications already playing music have to be switched manually through pavucontrol.
    Sometimes, the card is incorrectly identified as "Analog Stereo Duplex", with no 5.1 option. In that case killing pulseaudio and letting it start again solves the problem.

  • IPhone 6+ Muffled/Distorted audio cycles with a Bluetooth headset

    While using Apps like Facetime, Skype and Viber there are moments or Cycles of Muffled audio from the Bluetooth headset ( tested on LG Tone Infinim HBS900)
    The other party does not hear the muffling.
    It seems like there is a cycle or may be some sort of sleep or battery saving mechanism which triggers on and causes this muffled audio.
    Has anyone else experience this issue?

    It seems like 8.2 has fixed it but created a new problem "Facetime incoming calls default to Speakerphone while connected to Bluetooth".

  • BlackBerry 9300 smartphone does not route audio to a stereo Bluetooth headset

    hi,
    trying to listen music thru my Jabra BT2010 headset from my bb 9300, but not able to hear.
    though calls are ok, music is not.
    pls help

    Yah,
    I finally gave up on my old blue-tooth headset and got myself an LG HBS-700 (A2DP) stereo headset.
    It mostly solves my issue, though it seems to switch from hi-fi mode to a low-fi mono mode when a phone call comes in during TomTom navigation (and TomTom currently has some issues about playing the full audio messages from time to time and sometimes reverts unexpectedly to iPhone speakers -- I expect they'll sort that out eventually).

  • 8900 Echo Callers hear themselves so loud they are afraid to talk at times...

    After about 2 days of use callers complain about an echo, if I hard reboot device [ remove battery ] callers do not complain for 2-3 days.  I am on my second phone, ATT used the warranty to replace the phone after my numerous complaints about this echo problem.
    If I turn the volume down very low, callers do not hear it as bad, or if I use the bluetooth, they do not report this echo.
    I can sometimes hear a faint one when I speak as well, WI-FI is enabled, BlueTooth is enabled, Facebook and Google Maps app loaded, Bolt Browser installed...  Phone is just a couple months old, this refurb is a couple months newer than my previous model...  Latest software loaded on PC, phone fully updated...
    I have searched the web and found numerous reports, some with OtterBox, which I use, some without.
    Problem exists with or without OtterBox on phone...
    Tried to reach RIM over this matter as I doubt ATT has much knowledge of another companies products, found this was only method to report problems since no support available to end users like other companies...  ??

    Me too, I hear it from my friends all the time that I echo. This really sucks. I wiped the phone and it worked until I restored all my contacts from the backup. They say it's the phone so $10.00 more for a new phone to have it happen again. It really sucks. I don't understand that if I have my headset on its fixed but without it does not.  Puzzling. None of the other phones in the house do it at all. Only the Blackberry. So any help is greatly appreciated.
