P2p streaming in PXIe cards from development pc

Dear community,
Is it possible to perform a p2p streaming communication between two PXIe FlexRIO cards executing from the development computer (and not from the PXIe controller)?
Both cards are placed in a 1082 chassis with a 8108 RT controller. The problem is that one of the adapter modules has some issues with RT OS, so we need to use it under Windows.
The proposed solution is to add both FPGA targets to "My Computer" (development pc, windows) in the LabVIEW project, and execute the host which configures the p2p stream there.
At this point, -63193 error saying that "The requested feature is not supported" are displayed in the "P2PReader.Get Peer To Peer Reader" and "P2PWriter.Get Peer To Peer Writer" blocks.
Thank you in advance.
P.S. executing the same code under the RT controller there is no p2p error (but the FPGA target does not work properly)

All picture enhancement modes are off. I do not use them.
55WL768G does not offer local dimming.
After some additional months of testing I can tell you that the picture black outs of my 55WL768G only happen when connected to a PC (always HDMI connection NOT VGA).
I tried different picture modes: "Games", "PC", "Hollywood 2" - no change.
I tried different HDMI ports - no change. I tried a Nvidia 9500GT and also a AMD 4350 as VGA Card - no success. Picture still going away as if signal was lost.
Happens most often if big white areas appear on screen. Example: change from Windows 7 desktop to an empty browser window with only the toolbar and a big white blank page.
No drop-outs using LG BDP, DVB-S2 receiver or my Dune HD 301 media player.
This is more than annoying. It virtually makes use of this TV with a computer impossible.
As far as I can see there is also no firmware update available beyond the version I already use.

  • How to access PXI 5152 from a Laptop via ethernet cable?

Hi,  I have the following setup.
       PXI 1002 chasis
             PXI 8175 controller
             PXI 6025E DAQ card
             PXI 5152 scope
              PXI 6602 counter timer.
I have written a program that uses the counter timer for triggering an external circuit board and the scope for data acquisition. I need to run the vi on my laptop and get access to the PXI devices.
I have connected the Laptop to the PXI using a cross over LAN cable and configured manual IP addresses and identical subnet masks on both systems. If i run the Remote Device Access Server(RDA) on the PXI chasis, I can access the 6025E card and a portion of the 6602 card also. I can see them from MAX directly. But how can I access the scope, as the RDA server works only with DAQ devices.
What I want is a method to configure the PXI system as a remote device on my Laptop.so that I can see the PXI cards in NI MAX on my laptop.
I would like to see if I can do this without having to get a new express card.
Please help!! I am newbie with remote systems.
    Thanks in advance!!

    Hi JJ,
Sorry for the delay. You are correct that using remote
front panels will still require the VI to run on your PXI system, and you will
not be able to do any configuration other than that allowed with the front
panel. If your controller is slow, is there a reason why the development can’t
be done on another computer and then transferred to the PXI system only to
test? To help speed things up on your PXI system, you could create an exe on
your development machine (if you have the application builder or LabVIEW Professional)
and then run this on the PXI system. This only requires the LabVIEW runtime engine
(which is already installed since LabVIEW is on the system), but will not
require LabVIEW to open. If you do this, please read this knowledgebase: How Do I Enable The Web Server Or Use Remote Panels With an
    Application (EXE) Built in LabVIEW?
As far as the RT vs. Win 2000 – this can
change things very juristically. If you boot using RT, then this will require
you to develop on your host computer, and then deploy it to the RT system. If
you use Win 2000, then my above comments apply.
    Hope this helps you out.

  • Why are my PXI cards not recognized by Windows or MAX?

I have a PXI-1045 chassis connected to a PC through MXI-4.  When I turn the chassis and PC on with a PXI card in slot 2, the message "Windows could not load the installer for DAQDevice.  Contact your hardware vendor for assistance." appears, and the PXI card is not recognized (it is scene by Windows as an unidentifiable PCI Devices, though I have a DAQmx installed).
    More details:
    Windows XP
    LabVIEW 8.0 installed
    TestStand 4.0 installed
    Latest DAQmx 8.XX installed
    NI Scope installed
    NI CAN installed
MXI-4 PCI card installed in PC and recognized by Windows (as PCI-PCI bridge, and MXI-4 Device)
I identified PXI chassis 1045 in MAX and on subsequent boot up saw that MAX complained about pxisys or some other ini file (in the chassis status area of the screen) so I configured it as 'other' then put in the PXI-resorce CD and selected the ini file for PXI-1045, MAX no longer complains about pxisys and instead says the chassis is configured properly
If I have nothing but the PXI MXI-4 card installed in the PXI system and boot up the chassis then the PC, I get no errors
If I have a card in slot two (I've tried PXI-6509 Industrial Digital IO, PXI-2569 Relay Module, and PXI-5102 Digital Oscilliscope) and boot the chassis then PC, the message "Windows could not load the installer for DAQDevice.  Contact your hardware vendor for assistance." shows up when Windows boots and Windows sees a PCI Device but can't identify any drivers for it.

    Hello,
Can you post a screenshot of the problem? Are you switching on the chassis first or the PC? Please make sure that you switch ON chassis and then boot the PC. This typically happens when you have a corrupted installation.  I would suggest downloading the latest version of driver from here and re-installing it.
Please uninstall all the driver software from computer before installing the new software.

  • Document "Is my PXI card hybrid slot compatible?"

Hi, I would like to ask for some clarification and make a suggestion for Document 4S3F9Q9G, "Is my PXI Card Hybrid Slot Compatible (PXIe-Ready)". In this document, there is a series of statements about the compatibility of various card types with various slot types.
    Link: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/50C189CF7BF8884B86257515007184F4
I know that the document only intends to say whether any type of card is compatible with a PXI Hybrid Slot, it almost answers the question of what all cards are compatible with what all slots, which is the more general question I am trying to answer as I try to juggle devices and chassises.
Knowing basically nothing about the PXI standards, I attempted to produce a compatibility matrix from these statements alone, and I'd like to see if I arrived at the correct conclusions. I'm not sure if I used the conventional nomenclature, but it should be clear from the statements why I used those terms. See the attached PDF.
There are the pictures at the bottom where you can play a game of hocus focus to figure out which cards fit in which slots, but I think it would be much clearer with a matrix.
So my suggestions for the document are:
add/edit the statements provide information about "blank" cells
add a completed compatibility matrix for quick reference.
Indicate on the matrix, or reference, the standard symbols indicating slot types, used below the slots of a PXI chassis
    Thanks,

Great to hear that it looks correct.  I assume that you mean that I have not introduced any erroneous information.
But the reason that I submitted this message here, rather than directly on the page, is because I believe that my matrix is incomplete, and so I was hoping for some expert feedback on that and a quick commentary about why.
    For example:
    - Will the PXI system timing slot accept standard connector PXI cards, 32-bit compactpci cards, or hybrid compatible cards?
    - Is it possible to plug a PXI standard connector module into a PXI hybrid slot?
Just for completeness, the text and matrix don't answer these questions, but I don't actually care about them.
    - Is it possible to plug a PXI system timing module into a PXI hybrid slot?
    - Will a standard PXI slot accept system timing cards, 32-bit compact pci cards, or hybrid compatible cards?

  • How to alternate data storage into 2 arrays with an analog square wave input? (seems that the retriggerable function is not supported by my PXI card)

    Hi!
I'm trying to have an analog square wave input determine where data gathered from a second analog input channel is stored.  I want data to be stored to one array during the high signal period of the square wave and data to be store to another array during the low signal period of the square wave.  The square wave I'm using is of constant frequency (8.3 Hz).  I believe I need to use an analog input wave as opposed to a onboard clock or other timing mechanism because my square wave is also being used to modify the input going into my experimental setup.  Thus the data storage needs to be correlated to the timing of the data modification in the experiment.  I tried to use the retriggerable property node function, but receive error 200452, which I think means that my PXI card (6115) can't support this retriggerable function.  So I'm looking for other ways to accomplish alternating data storage in response to an incoming analog square wave.  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated... Thanks!  (I'm also quite new with LabView so toddler-type explanations would probably be most useful  )

    Hello Shari,
I am looking at your situation and it seems very intriguing.  after downloading your file I have a couple questions to ask if you don't mind answering.
Currently in your program you are only taking one sample of data at a time,  this could lead to uneven sampling.  Would you like to sample at a consistent rate  (say 10 Kilosamples of data a second?)  if so what type of card are you using?
Also,  Do you want your data to be in a 2-D array of data?
    Best Wishes,

  • Installation of third party PXI Card supplied by Chroma

The problem is that I get the initialization error while I install the PXI-52911
The installation process done during installation is as follows.
1 I have installed LAB View 6.1 in the PXI Controller without the PXI 52911card
The NI Daq version is NI DAQ 6.9.2f4,
    The NI VISA 2.6.0
    IVI Engine 1.83 version.
2 After installing the Lab view software I have installed the Latest driver software downloaded from FTP site.
3 Then I have installed the PXI Card and it got detected in the system.
    4. When I checked in the NI VISA the details were as shown below.
    5. After checking this I tried in the software Given by the supplier . I get an error as displayed below.
    In this regard pl
ease let me know what as to how this problem can be solved.

    Hi Suresh,
Thank you for contacting National Instruments. It sounds to me like there are three possible problems.
First, it is possible that there is a configuration problem with VISA. According to Chroma's webpage, this device does use NI-VISA. If this is true, the device should be listed in Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) under PXI System when it is properly installed and configured. If this device is not listed in MAX, then we need to make sure VISA is configured to recognize your device. In MAX, select the Tools menu, and select NI-VISA, VISA Options. Select VISA Passports, and make sure there is a checkmark next to "nivipxi.dll - VISA library passport for PXI." Now, select VISA settings and make sure the option to "Show all PXI/PCI Devices
    accessible to VISA" is enabled.
Second, it is possible that NI-VISA or the software for your PXI card is corrupt. I suggest you uninstall your PXI device, NI-VISA, and the software for your PXI device. Once your system is clean, I recommend you reinstall NI-VISA, NI-IVI, and the instrument drivers for your PXI device. Once all of the software is installed, then you can reinstall the hardware.
I hope that helps. If that does not solve your problem, I will try to help you as much as I can, but it may be necessary to contact Chroma.

  • I've got a GPIB card from hewlett Packard to use with a HP4263A LCR meter

I've got a GPIB card from hewlett Packard to use with a HP4263A LCR meter, I am trying to use NIDAQ to get the data in labview, but the card is not detected, what can I do? I am using an AT-MIO-16E card and a PC-DIO 32 card, installed by another developer, I just would like to get the device working again, but I do not have any experience with labview.

    Hello;
It's not clear from what exact device you are willing to get data. By what I understood from your e-mail, you are intending to get data from the HP GPIB board. If that is the case, you don't need NI-DAQ. You will probably be better of by contacting HP and ask then for the Labview driver for that GPIB board.

  • What is delivery quality for data frames in p2p stream?

    Hi,
I am planning to replace some shared object solution by sending data frames over p2p stream. Since this runs over UDP I can imagine there is risk involved of partial deliver, non-delivery, or delivery out of sync? (admittedly out-of-sync is probably also possible with shared objects?)
Can you give an indication what I may expect?
    - Frans

in Flash Player 10.0, data sent P2P with NetStream.send() is fully reliable.  we disclosed at MAX that Flash Player 10.1 will allow you to explicitly and individually set (from ActionScript) whether or not video, audio, or data is sent fully reliably or with partial reliability over direct connection P2P NetStreams.  NetStream.send()s are delivered in the order they were sent.

    Hi Jeffmg,
This seems to be a known issue. There is an internal knowledgebase documenting this problem and a potential solution.
The solution according to the KB article:
"This problem can occur when a previous board was mapped to the host machine. The NIMtnSvr.exe is based on Board ID's and sometimes gets stuck. To fix this, close any NI software running and then open the task manager and end the NIMtnSvr.exe process. This will shutdown the server and allow it to start from scratch the next time it runs. When you open MAX, the boards will appear on the local host correctly mapped."

  • Is there a 10GigE PXI card?

    Hi,
I want to transfer quite a lot of data over ethernet and GigE does not provide enough bandwidth.
The controller I'm considering is a PXIe-8135 (only GigE) together with a PXIe-1085 chassis. I haven't found any 10 GigE card at NI.com and I have also googled quite a bit looking for such a card from other vendors as well with no luck. I have also searched for Compact PCI cards but found none.
If you google you might find this card and think the problem is solved (like I did), unfortunately that's for cPCI-S
Does anyone know if there exists a 10 GigE PXI(e) or Compact PCI(e) card?
    Best regards
    Anders

    Hi Anders,
Unfortunately NI does not offer any 10 GigE cards at the moment, you are most welcome to contact us by phone for additional guidance on our products.

  • Host pc thinks all PXI cards are in slot 0

    Hello,
I have a RT system which I am trying to drive remotely. It is a PXI-1000B with two 6070Es, a 6602, a 5401 and a 1409. The host PC is running windows XP. I have checked and updated all the software on the RT machine. I can also download VIs to the RT machine and run them from there.
When I add a new RDA/ethernet device in MAX on the host PC, I can see the devices and their numbers fine, but I get the slot 0 error that a lot of other people seem to have had, and I can't use the cards from the host PC.
One instruction I couldn't find for XP is which directory PXISYS.ini is meant to be in for the host PC. Does anyone know any other reasons for this problem?
    Thanks,
    TomH.

    Tom,
Make sure you have the correct PXISYS.ini file. See the link:
    http://www.ni.com/support/vxi/vxi_perph.htm#pxisys
The PXISYS.ini file needs to be copied/ftp the PXI RT controller in the folder NI-RT/SYSTEM/.

  • Pxi cards on 1000b cahssis not detected under windows 98

my mxi-3 card is being detected on windows startup (mxi-3 optimization software is running correctly) but all other pxi cards on my 1000b pxi chassis are not detected.

    Anis,
Well, I always prefer to try the simplest things first. In this case, that would be fully powering down the chassis and the computer. Then powering on the chassis first, and a few seconds later, powering on the computer. If this doesn't help, then you would probably want to try any or all of the following troubleshooting steps to try and isolate the problem:
    - Try removing all but the mxi-3 and one other card from chassis and then try booting up.
    - Try placing the pci mxi-3 card in a different slot in the computer.
    - Try uninstalling and reinstalling all the NI software on your computer. (better yet, format and reinstall).
    - Try the pci mxi-3 card in a different computer.
    - Try a different set of mxi-3 cards (if available)
    - Check
device manager to see if there are any errors or warnings.
So those are the things that I would try. If after all that you still have no luck connecting you may have a hardware problem and need to RMA (Return Materials Authorization) your hardware.
Please post back with what you find.

  • Why and how does Adobe Store's policy deliberately impede Least Developed Countries from developing?

    Hi there,
My name is Dr Eric Mousset. I currently reside in Cambodia, having the privilege to serve as (international) Technical Assistant to support a Government project that is co-funded by the Royal Government of Cambodia and the World Bank, and purposed to Higher Education Capacity and Quality Improvement.
My mission implies conducting a survey on skills demand by employers and skills supply by Higher Education Institutions, in order to better inform further policy development.
Among the expected policy outcomes: a more effective alignment between skills supply and job market needs.
Among the desired policy impacts: providing the Cambodian economy with the HR skills that are required for its growth and diversification.
I am impressed by the combined capabilities of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and Adobe Forms Central. And until this morning it was on top of my shortlist of surveying tools.
Unfortunatley, while attempting to upgrade to FormsCentral's "Plus" plan, I have received the following reply from Adobe:
    Unsupported Country
    Thus here is my question:
Why and how does Adobe Store's policy deliberately impede Least Developed Countries from developing?
    Yours sincerely,
    Dr Eric Mousset

    Hi;
I can't speak to the business decisions that lead to which countries we enable purchasing subscriptions in the store, but I can guarantee you that it is not to impede anyones development.
A credit card with an address in any of the supported countries can be used for purchasing the subscription, this has enabled many to get around the issue, but that is the only way to subscribe.
    Thanks,

If you're connecting to a portal instance with the Portal Server API (as it appears you are), then you should probably be selecting the Portal component in PTSpy. You can tell from the startup which component to select, as it will say something like:
    OpenLog: verposity level = 2
OpenLog: Registered application name: ConfigInitialization (local machine only)
OpenLog: Registered application name: portal.[machinename].Administrator (local machine only)
The last application name is what you'd use. Make sure you are recording on the machine running the custom app.
Since you can see it in both browse and edit mode, we know that the search index and the database both know of the card, so it can't be that it thinks the card is missing. At this point, you'd have to go through the PTSpy recorded when you run your app. You should start it right before you initiate the delete, and shut it off after the PTSpy stops recording new lines. You might be able to search for the error code, otherwise you'd have to go line by line to find something related to permissions, though other types of errors (not found, network access problems) might return the access denied message.
