P43-C51 reset issue

So having an issue here. I just put my system together.
P43-C51 board
E7500 cpu
G.Skill DDR-3 1600 memory (their eco 1.35v stuff CL7-8-7-24), 2x2gb
Powercolor 5570 Go-green video card
Corsair 400w power supply
When it boots up and I go in to the bios the first 1-3 times I do this the computer resets itself. In some cases it powers down completely and then turns back on 2-4 seconds later. After those resets it seems to run stabley. I haven't installed an OS or anything else yet, just getting all the settings in.
Ideas? I am clean out. It seems like a main board issue of some type, but I have no idea.
I've tried raising the memory voltage, no luck. Haven't tried much of anything else.
No overclock by the way.
Thanks.
-Matt

Okay, this could potentially be the dumbest cause I have ever seen.
Bad/misconnected reset SW connector on the MoBo. I just decided to yank it, and it hasn't happened since. Considering that I never actually use the reset button, I just use the power button...
Haven't used it enough to see if this was the cause or not. However every single time I booted it would reset at least once within 2 minutes before being 'stable' (at least for 10 minutes or so, never been in the bios for longer). Now I managed a few boots to the bios of several minutes length with no resets and also got to the windows XP install screens after loading the basic drivers the memory (4-5 minutes time).
Of course then I had to deal with the pain in the rear that is creating an XP SP2 boot disk (okay, before getting to the install screen). Yay for not having Vista of 7 and for base XP not to support PCI-E. Windows 7 and 30/60gb SSD shall be my Christmas present this year.
If anyone does have any ideas still let me know in case this is a phantom problem that starts occuring again. Fingers crossed it is an issue with the case reset switch or missconnected reset SW on the MoBo.
Thanks.

  • Black screen on MSI P43-C51, memory incompatible?

    Hi!
I've recently bought a new computer. Everything seems to be in good order, except when I start it I get a black screen. Disks are spinning, I hear it boot up and everything, lights seems to be in the proper places, but the screen remains black.
Searching around, users with similar problems usually seems to have memory problems, therefore I'm suspecting that's my case too. I've triple-checked that they are properly inserted.
    Specs:
    PSU: 400W Corsair
    GFX: Sapphire Radeon HD 5830 1GB DDR5
    Motherboard: MSI P43-C51
    Memory: 2x2GB Kingston 1066 MHz DDR3 CL7
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.93 MHz
Is the memory incompatible as I suspect, or is there any other answer? Would be thankful if you could tell me. Thank you.

it's an Intel C2D with 2.93 GHz freq I think
What is the exact model name of that CPU?

Your problem could be caused by any (or several) of the following things:
    - memory problem (test each stick individually in the first memory slot, test other memory modules)
    - PSU problem (PSU defective or power connectors not hooked up properly (24 Pin ATX, 4 or 8 Pin +12V CPU, 6/8 Pin PCI-Express (video card))
    - shorting issue (test the board outside the case on a non-conducting surface in barebone configuration)
    - defective CPU
    - defective video card
    - defective motherboard (bent or broken CPU socket pins, defective sub-circuits, defective chipset components, defective voltage regulators etc.)

  • How do I create a RAID 0 on a P43-C51 mainboard and Windows 7

I just upgraded my computer with a new MSI P43-C51 mainboard, Intel E8400 Dual Core and Windows 7.  I have two identical Western Digital 250GB SATA drives.  In my previous system, using Windows XP, I had the two drives configured in RAID 0.  I was unable to find the RAID drivers (and still haven't found them) for the RAID configuration so I erased the hard drives and started over new.  I have the system up and running and want to re-install Windows 7 but in RAID 0 format.  How do I do this?
I have downloaded the RAID drivers: Intel_HECI_MB.zip from the MSI download site but I haven't been able to use the software to create a RAID 0 configuration.
With my last board and XP, it was straight forward.  The old BIOS itself allowed the creation of a RAID 0 configuration and the board CD included the drivers for XP.  I am wondering if I overlooked something basic and my new board just doesn't support RAID.
Any advice or help would be appreciated and thank you in advance!

Thanks, that is what I suspected.  Now I have a good excuse to upgrade the hard drives to SATA II  !

  • Windows 7 Pro - 64bit with P43-C51

    Hello there,
I am trying to install Windows 7 Pro - 64bit with my P43-C51. But after clicking: "Install" an error-message occurs saying: "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk CD, DVD, or USB flash drive please insert it now.". I provided the Drivers of my Board / DVD-Rom and selected them within the setup, but the error always occurs. I disconnected all devices and booted from USB to find out which one is causing the error, but after all, I think it is the mainboard. Anyone has some advices on how to setup Win7Pro 64bit with P43-C51?

  • WAD webpage reset issue

    Hi Forum,
I have a requirement wherein a web page selection screen is developed in WAD(with some amount of Javascript involved) for the page transition from the selection screen to the report output. The ideal scenario in this case is once a user selects his selection of specific values in the selection screen and runs the report, it displays the report and the selection screen should remain intact as it is for reselecting different values. The issue occuring here is once the user selects the values and clicks on the Run Report button, the report displays fine but the selection screen resets back to a different kind of a screen(displaying exceptions and few other tabs) wherein the user is not able to reselect other values for rerunning the report. Once the user clicks on the back button then the selection screen displays again wherein the user can enter his selections again. So, ideally we need to prevent the selection screen from resetting itself to the exceptions screen, keeping the screen intact as it was.
If anyone has faced a similar kind of an issue in WAD, any help on this would be extremely appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    SwatsG

    Hi,
    Try the below steps.
open WAD ---> open the Web Template (WT) you want to make changes ---> goto properties of the WT ---> select tab 'web item' ---> try checking or unchecking the below mentioned items in the web item list.
    Forced Variable Screen Display
    Reset variables to Default
    Display same variable only once
    Read Mode for Data
Hope this will help resolve webpage reset issue.

  • MSI P43-C51 hours of anguish, distress and burnt money

Hi there, I got a P43-C51 motherboard, and I wanted to make those 16GB of DDR3 working... but..
I have an Intel E5200 Wolfdale cpu, and wanted to have 16GB of memory in order to make smoother my programming stuff and other actions...
So, I've received the motherboard, took my working CPU and installed it on my new mobo.. inserted some kingston DDR3 1600Mhz RAM, and my ati 4850 graphic card and got what... nothing.. the thing won't boot.
All fans are working, when I connect the lan cable the mobo lan port blinks like it should, but.. only phase 2 and 3 leds lit.. no response from phase 1.
Yesterday I've bought a DIMM of 2GB 1333Mhz Corsair memory.. and the same. Today I've bought Transcend 2x1 DIMMs of 1GB DDR3 1333Mhz.. and got the same negative results.
I've connected the 24 pin PSU connector plus the 4 pin 12v cpu connector. The Motherboard cpu contacts seem to be ok.
When I connect a speaker to their jumper I got no sound feedback for any error that could be happening.
Already cleared CMOS, and even took the batery off and on..
I'm going crazy, what can I do now?

When changing processor it is important to clear CMOS. Settings are not the same with every processor, of course. You pull power cable out first.
Some work, but since it seems to be a processor problem, you should also check the seating. You can do that and above at the same time, good opportunity to do so. You have to clean off old grease and apply some new thermal grease. I do do do recommend having motherboard out of the case when seating a processor.
Off: My work associates did C+ and C++ programming with 15'' screens and Pentium II at 133 MHz. You don't need much!
I am not sure to what extent, but head boss Chief I believe did a lot of programming on the fly with a 33 MHz drag-able computer, big as a suit-case, overclockable to 66 MHz if memory doesn't fail me.

    HY! I've reccently brought this P43-C51 witch was equipped with a 2gb ram (Kingmax cl9 1600 mhz) and a intel c2d e8500.Everything was good and nice until a got a kit of ram(kingston hyperx performance Beast - 8GB Kit* (2x4GB) - DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Intel XMP DIMM Specs: DDR3, 1600MHz, CL9, 1.65V, Unbuffered, Spec Sheet PDF
    Profile 1: 1600MHz, 9-9-9, 1.65V)
I plugged that in an just won't bot.my sistem its continously restarting (turn on 10 sec/turn off 10 sec mode)
i've alredy updated bios to 5.7 version and still nothing...any advice?how i get this ram to work? (excuse my bad english)
    thank you

I meant to check the socket for bent pins but if it works with your C2D problem seems to be related to cpu. Maybe current bios on your board doesn't fully support it. With the E7500 and one stick of ram installed update to the latest bios: http://www.msi.com/product/mb/P43-C51.html#/?div=BIOS

  • Re: P43-C51: How to optimize FSB/RAM bus clock ratio

Hi guys. Does anyone know how to change the multiplier on P43-C51?? i can't see it in cell menu.
I raised fsb to 333 and the multiplier stays at 11, so that makes the cpu work at 3660 mhz. I'd like to raise fsb to 400 and down multiplier to about 8-9.
the cpu is E7500 native 2.93 ghz
    thanks in advance

You don't have the same hardware. Don't hijack someone else's thread. >>Please read and comply with the Forum Rules.<<
    Topic split.
It seems your BIOS does not support setting the multi independently. You can enquire with MSI technical about it. >>How to contact MSI.<<

okay guys i have 1things preventing me from finishing my 1st  build and that is memory (Ram)
i have an msi p43-c51 motherboard and im looking to buy 4 gigs of ram 2 sticks of 2g can anyone recommend a good manufacturer of compatible ram 4 this mother board thats not to expensive
thank you in advanced for all your help

So far I can say you're looking at average price about $100 for a 2x2GB kit at newegg for PC2 6400 DDR2, any decent brand. Some are more, others less but average $100. One of the very best is Crucial and their lower priced black chip on a green stick is priced good for that brand. That's what I'm getting in DDR3 for my i3 rig I'm building

  • S750 - How many people get the power on/off/resetting issue?

How many people get the power on/off/resetting issue?
I've had my S750s for about 6 months, with X-Fi Elite Pro, and has been doing it since.
Any idea on what's the cause? Something to do with the control pod?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
What do you mean exactly? On my side I have power on/off/resetting issue when the speaker are in standby mode (thus red light on the control pod) and when I switch them on via the remote control or the control pod. It makes a strange noise in the subwoofer ("clic"), the red light disappear, then a new noise and the speakers are switched on. The problem is that all volume levels (rear / side / center / sub and main) are reinitialized! I have to configure them each time this problem appears...
I have a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS connected to this speaker system. For me it is related to an electrical problem in the subwoofer like if the voltage was not stable (variations).

  • NF725GM-P43 No-Video Issue

Just got a fresh NF725GM-P43 (911-7595-027) build, but I'm not having much success getting it to start up :-(  Hoping someone may have some suggestions to check, maybe hit up some things that I neglected to think about. The build is with an AMD Athlon II X4 (640/AM3) CPU and 2x2GB G.Skill Ripjaws (DDR3-1600, 4GB total).  Or, for more detailed specs:
    Motherboard:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130594
    CPU:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103871
    Memory:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277
Symptomatology: The PS comes online, CPU fan spins up OK, HDDs... well, they sound like they're kicking in like a normal boot, but I'm getting no video whatsoever.
Troubleshooting: I've scaled the hardware down to just CPU, Memory and Power Supply (obviously) and a display connected to the onboard VGA slot to see if I could get any response out of it, and still reports negative.  I also tried adding in an old but known-good nVidia 7300GT PCIe card to see if I could get any video output through that, but came up with nothing.  For good measure, I've tried resetting the CMOS via the jumper short on the board (JBAT1), just to ensure I've got some defaults going on, but as I've never been able to get into the BIOS to modify any settings, I'm highly confident everything is where it should be in there. ;o) The last thing I've done is re-seat the CPU in the utter hopes of getting something... anything... to come up on that screen.  To cover the display-side of things, I've tried the monitor I'm using on the system I'm using now, as well as another old 15" dell monitor that I had sitting in the basement.  For a sanity check, I made sure it was working prior to trying with this new build.
Initially thought it could be a power supply issue (using a couple that I had in storage; both tested OK on a different system prior to me adding it to this build, so I consider them known-good) - the first PS I tried was an Antec Blue 350W power supply (Model: SL350), the second, a HiPro 350W (Model: HP-D3537F3R - as you can guess, it came out of an HP system).  The only major difference I can note about the two is that the Antec has a 20-Pin connector, whereas the HiPro has a 24-Pin connector, but I've never had a problem between the two and other boards in the past.
The one bit I've noted is that the board and CPU only supports up to a max of 1333 on the memory; the ones I happened to purchase are 1600 - but reading the sticky up front on these forums, wouldn't the memory just top itself out at 1333? Shouldn't prevent a standard boot, from the reading and research I've done online...
... On that point, just for giggles, I tried baring the system down to just Mobo & CPU without the memory just to see if I could generate some beep codes, but got none of those either.  Then again, the documentation for the system board doesn't really make note of any onboard speakers, so that may have just been invalid troubleshooting there.
Unfortunately, at this point, I've been at it for hours, and I'm at a total loss.
    Thanks all!

For those interested, I have some updates on this subject and someone out there sent me a mail asking if I ever found anything out.
Basically, when I encountered this issue the first time, I was working on a SP2 Portal. We were having numerous small bugs like this one with SP2 that centered around the back button or refresh button. BEA gave us a "super patch" back in July or so that when applied to our SP2 project, fixed our issue. I have sense moved onto SP3, and I did not see the compression issue (so I think SP3 must have the patches correctly setup...like I would assume it would).

  • Password Reset Issue in Portal

    Hi All,
Please help me to resolve this issue.
Issue : We have resetted a password for one srm user in Portal. The User when he tried to login after the password reset initially it was asked to change the password. User changed the password. He is succesfully logged into the portal. Now the problem is when he tries to access a srm work item in worklist it is opening a new window and asking to reset the password again with the error message "No switch to HTTPS occurred, so it is not secure to send a password & This is an initial password that must be changed". It is not asking to change when he tries to login to portal and this error is promting only when he tries to open a work item. Because of this the user could not proceed to work further.
Can any please let me know if faced with the same error.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Viswes

    Hi Viswes,
There are two solutions for this issue,
    1. Create a custom application which will change PWD in all the systems once you change your Portal PWD.
    2. Change the backend PWD before accessing UWL. (Login to backend system directly, it will ask for change of PWD).
    Thanks.
