P45 Platinum zilent useful info for group

Hi
Built my new system (see earlier threads) which comprises P45 Zilent; E8600; Geil 8M DDR800 CL5; Vista Ult 64; 3 SATA hard drive; 2 SATA Optical drives; 8800GTS320 vid; NXET Hush Case; Coolermaster Green 750W PSU; Samsung 245+ monitor.
All went well until I had installed Vista Ult 64 when I started to get random shutdowns with errors like 000000020B9C2B and few others. Lasted between 2-10 mins and was worse on optimesed bios settings.
Having read something similar on here to do with drivers I updated the Bios from 1.3 to 1.5, the intel inf drivers and the audio drivers.
Had no trouble since and now on optimised settings.
Like all my chosen parts although the Hush case is a bit tight for 3 drives and a large vid card. Well made, easy to assemble and very quiet though.
Seeing the P45zilent's got the Zalman cooler I hope to try speeding things up a bit but will leave for a few weeks before trying. Dont know whats achievable with this set up.
May be useful to someone.
Kev
Saving up for a faster vid card for m FSX and my sons racing games like grid etc as well as a NTFS Gigabit NAS drive to replace the 3rd drive in my PC as I dont think having the backup in the same PC's a good idea in case of theft, fires etc

I updated the Bios from 1.3 to 1.5
superkev6969, you said you updated your BIOS to v1.5.  Are you sure about the version?  There is no official or BETA BIOS with that version ID (yet).

  • P45 Platinum/Zilent with 8800GT problem

I was watching this board for a few days now but I haven't had seen any post with a similar problem.  I've already tried bios 1.1, 1.2 and the beta bios 1.22.  What happens is when I run a game, it will close a few minutes later and Vista will show a "nvlddmkm stopped responding" error.  This happens with forceware version 175.19, 177.79 and 177.83.  With forceware 169.25 though, I can play a game normally.  If not for the specific driver version that works, I might have suspected it's a power supply problem.  I was fine with using the older driver, but now that they released the new driver with Physx support, I want to update.
Someone in another forum said that he was able to make his 8800GT Sonic work with beta bios v. 1.24, but had problems with beta 1.23.  I don't have the 1.24 bios to test yet to see if it'll fix the issue.
I'm aware of the 8800Gt having issues with older boards with PCI-E v1 but since this board has PCI-E 2.0, this should not be the case.  I've also tried putting the card into the second PCI-E slot but encountered the same problem.  The 6 pin power connector is properly connected to the video card, and I even tried connecting a 4 pin molex to the connector above the PCI-E slot (which I know is used as extra power for Crossfire configuration).
So.. anybody encountered this problem too?  Any solutions (other than getting an ATI card).

This is more of a driver issue with the OS rather than the board issue.
Normally, that would be my conclusion too, except that I did a few more tests:
    8800GT + another computer on XP + forceware 175.19 = normal
8800GT + another computer on Vista + forceware 174.xx (driver that came with the CD) = normal
    7600GT + P45 Platinum + forceware 175.19 = normal
    8800GT + P45 Platinum + forceware 169.25 = normal
    8800GT + p45 Platinum + forceware 174.xx/175.19/177.79/177.83 = "nvlddmkm stopped responding" error
What I'm asking from other users though is if they managed to use an 8xxx/9xxx series on this board with the latest drivers without encountering error on games, and what bios version they were using.  The just-released official 1.3 bios even included a compatibility fix with the Geforce 9xxx series.   Flashed mine yesterday but didn't solve my problem.

  • P45 Platinum (Zilent) and 1066MHz DDR2

Hi, I am getting a new PC and as I always do I will be assembling it myself. I ordered the P45 Zilent board and it will arrive in less than a week, along with a 2GB A-DATA Vitesta+ 1066+ DDR2 memory kit. I love the MSI brand, I know it is good stuff, and the P45 Platinum is just a beast... but i read some reviews that say that the BIOS version it comes with it has some flaws. Mostly about raising the FSB and other overclocking, and when I went to the product page on the MSI site and read the BIOS versions change logs i saw that in the v1.3 there is a fix to an inaccurate reading of the CPU temperature in the BIOS.
I need to state that I have no intention of doing major overclocking on it, at least not for a few years, but I want to set the RAM clocks, frequency and voltages as specified on the Vitesta package:
    # Timings: 5-5-5-15-2T
    # Voltage: 2.2V~2.3V
    # Frequency: 1066MHz
So what I want to know is:
    1. Will I have problems with the stock BIOS setting my DDR2 kit on the above settings?
    2. Will the stock BIOS read the CPU temperature right, and does it have any serious flaws?
    3. Will it support an E8400 or E8300 CPU, and will the CPU work on 1333MHz (stock) FSB without problems?
Mostly I do not want to flash the BIOS if it can do what I need it to do, so I just want to know if I will have to flash it to achieve the above. I hope someone has tested the stock BIOS for DRR2 on the settings above, and also tested it for other flaws and may be able to help me with answers. A few pointers on how to overclock the RAM voltage, timings and frequency on this board, and also how to set up the BIOS (if it doesn't need to be flashed) for good system performance and stability are welcome as well.

    Confirming PERFECT stability work with:
BIOS version 1.4 Update Date     2008-09-11
    CPU: E8400@3GHz
    RAM 2x2GB Vitesta 1066+ [email protected]@1066MHz
That costs me a lot of wasted time to set all working well.
    Good luck!
P.S.: You may have problem with right recognition of the cpu because of BIOS version (mine was 1.0 at the beginning and with CPU-Z Mobo didn't recognize SSE4.1 and VT technology). Just update your BIOS with 1.4 and everything must be fine

  • Use of the 'Back' link in Catalog/Portal - Useful info for Catalog Admins

Some info for anyone out there who may have noticed the small 'issue' with catalog items being duplicated when exiting a catalog using the Portal 'Back' link rather than the 'Return to Application/SRM' link.
A problem has been identified there where portal navigation causes duplication of catalog data even where no item is selected in the catalog.
    The process might be:
    1. User accesses a catalog (any, SAP or External) and selects/adds to cart an item.
    2. User selects the 'Add Item' button in the 2nd step of the SC GAF, returning to the same catalog.
    3. User clicks on the Portal 'Back' link and is returned to the 2nd step of the Shopping Cart Guided Application Framework
    4. The initial shopped item is duplicated in the shopping cart even though no items were selected by the user.
To ensure that this does not happen SAP have created note [1445078|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1445078] which provides the means to remove the 'Back' link thus negating the possibility of this issue occuring in the case of any catalog access.
Please follow the steps provided in the note to modify the Portal Content and remove the back link entirely.

    Dear monique,
The catalog no longer opens in a new window from SRM 7.0 as we now use Portal as UI or NWBC, in order to maintain session reliability the catalog frame is launched from within the Shopping Cart Guided Application Framework, this SC 'session' is then placed in ACTION SUSPEND, until the return from catalog is generated where the session is triggered to reopen with a RESUME command.
If you wish to remove the portal navigation 'back' link, I believe you already have a note for doing so, if this has not worked, re-trace all the steps in case something was missed. It should work. By adding the bypassinb/outb_handler parameters into the call structure you should then have available the Return to SRM link instead in the catalog.
You are also correct, use of teh integrated call structure in SPRO is no longer recommended, it is relevant for older UI technology like ITS.
    Regards,
    Jason

  • Useful info for people who are stuck with the Portege 3490CT

can you guys try and leave a feedback?
BIOS SETTINGS so usb floppy and external cd/dvd player work
Boot the laptop while holding down the ESC key. It'll beep at you and display 'Check system. Then press [F1] key'. Press the F1 key. This gets you into bios settings. The keys to navigate through this are shown at the bottom of the screen.
There's four things you want to change from their default settings.
    In the 'Peripheral' section:
Set 'USB-FDD Legacy Emulation' to 'Enabled'
    In the 'Boot Priority' section:
Set 'Boot Priority' to any option where 'FDD' comes before 'HDD'
Use the PgDn key to move to the next screen.
    In the 'Configuration' section:
Set 'Device Config.' to 'All Devices'
    In the 'PC Card' section:
    Set 'Controller Mode' to 'CardBus/16-bit'
The boot priority option is only needed for the install (and you may be able to boot from CD if you set the PC card controller correctly .

    Hi
Well, as far as I know the USB-FDD emulation is needed if you use the WinNT on your notebook. This option has no influence on WinXP or on other Windows OS.
You need a Toshiba Mobile PCMCIA - CD-ROM/DVD compatible drive to boot or to install the OS from CD.
If you want to buy one so I recommend to order this part from the ASP because you will be 100% sure that you can boot from this drive.
    Bye

  • USEFUL INFO FOR SOME 875 problems i had (and solved)

    PROBLEM ONE:
    AGP/PCI NOT LOCKING, fix:
this problem was common amongst us 875 owners. the agp/pci setting would not lock when set to 66/33. some of us used clockgen to patch this. well there is a strange fix. to lock it a t 66/33 ( NO MATTER WHAT SETTINGS YOU USE) here is what you do. go into "IDE configuration" set enable Serial ATA to yes. now go back to your agp/pci setings. you will now only have three choices to choose from, instead of selecting in increments, choose 66/33. this works whether or not your have a sata drive or not and does not effect your HD setup. problem solved.
    PROBLEM TWO:
AGP CARD CRASHES TO DESKTOP mainly with (3dmark 2001 and dx games), fix:
the problem was caused by two factors. the main issue was heat from the core. it didn't matter whether my card was overclocked or not, i would still freeze or kick me to the desktop.  adding two more fans, one laying on the backside of the core, and the other a zalman 90mm pci slot fan positioned over my agp card. if you touch your core (both ati and nvidia, and it is too hot to touch, then you need better cooling for your card, and it will cause this problem. once the cooling was added i havent hade the problem since. note that i already had an iceberq4 fan for my video card. the other factor was my mem volt settings. if my ram voltage is set to 2.7, it would crash eventually, or freeze(even browsing web). once it was set to 2.6 i have not had any problems at all. 2.7 seems to be to high for my ram.
    PROBLEM THREE:
HIGH OVERCLOCK while maintaining decent mem bandwidth, fix:
look at my sig. i didnt like running a 5:4 ratio because my ram frequency gets decreased in the process. i could not overclock high enough for my ram to reach 400mhz @ 333 setting. i could reach  370-380 mhz ram freq and 3.2 ghz at 5:4. my solution is overclock @ 1:1 without PAT enabled. i can overclock to my 2.8 to 3.2 (228 FSB, rock solid) and get sandra mem scores over 5000. at 5:4 i only would get 4700.
conclusion, every problem i have had with my board has seem to slowly fade away. with experimentation and other great post on this board i feel i am running the perfect computer. very happy at this point with my product. i hope this post will help others.

I've never had my agp/pci clock overclocked. Mine has always stayed at 66/33 no matter what I did. I have a Sata Raid 0 on ICH5R and maybe that's what's holding the bus speed in place like Medafor said. I do still have my graphic card overclocked everytime I choose Fast or above. I have a 9700 pro which runs at 325 gpu and 310 Ram and If I choose anything else than slow it overclocks to 344/324 regardless of the same 66/33 agp/pci bus. I checked in more that one utility software. This annoys me a lot because I get artifacts when on some 3d apps (games) if the graphic card is Ovclk, so I have to set things to slow and I loose PAT which is the reason I bought a 875 instead of a 865. I'm getting furious because I payed for something that is denyed to me just because msi decided to "cheat" on benchmarks overclocking other peoples hardware. Do you think there's any way of turning off this "feature"?
Also I understand that a raid 0 setup only works with a given controler. If I change for another Mobo with the same ICH5R will I be able to rebuild the raid without loss of data?
Thanks for your help in advance

  • P45 platinum zilent ed-spdif problem

hello, its my first time to post here.
anyway, im having problem with my motherboard. i have a HTPC set up, i just bought a denon avr, and my problem is the spdif output from the mobo is not detected by the avr, supposed to be it will display on the screen of the avr saying "digital", so i checked the sound config of the pc and it its not detecting/showing the spdif plug also, unlike those in the 3.5mm jack once u plug or unplug the computer will automatically detected it.
im planning to buy a soundcard but i dont want a redundant set up, my avr alone can decode HD format audio. pls help.
    TIA!

Just to make it clear my pic/screenshot was from the PDF manual which is in fact the same as what my P35 manual has. I also can not find the setting for digital out on mine using W7.
OK i just found it. Go to Control Panel and click on Hardware & Sound and then Sound and you will get the window in pics below. I never used this section for S/PDIF so it took a while for me to figure it out.
Right click on the section with the speaker icon and then in the pop up menu left click Show Disabled Devices
Next right click on the Realtek Digital Output section to get the menu and then enable digital out.

  • P45 Platinum NEED HELP FAST PLEASE!

As you may have read previously, I was going to and I got a P45 Zilent board along with other parts. Now I have a few problems. Firstly here are the system specs:
MSI P45 Platinum (Zilent) BIOS v1.0
    Intel Core 2 Duo E8300
    A-DATA Vitesta 1066+ 2x1GB
    MSI R4850
    1XWD RAPTOR 74GB
    1XWD CAVIAR 200GB
    1XWD CAVIAR 500GB
    1XSAMSUNG SATA DVDRW 22x
PSU: Cooler Master Real Power M520
HANNS-G HI221DP (22" Widescreen connected with DVI-D Single Link Cable)
So, when I installed everything, and turned on the PC the DOS looking environment that shows up before the OS is loaded is filled with exclamation marks on the background, and in the BIOS has dots on the background. I thought at first OMG my VGA is faulty, but then in Windows it shows perfectly good image quality and no problems what so ever...
Second problem: My PC won't reboot. When it goes to reboot, it goes through the shutdown sequence properly, but after that when it needs to restart it just hangs and the 4 indicator lights are all red. Now when it starts normally there is no hang, all the lights are green and system is working fine. But every time it restarts it hangs there and nothing happens... :S
And third on CPU Z my the PC multiplier varies and also the bus speed is too low... here is a screenshot:
Now, even though the multiplier changes when PC under load, and I read it is some kind of power saving option, the BUS remains that low :S
    Please help me fast, please.

    Quote
Now the multiplier problem remains, but I read somewhere it is a power saving feature, but still I want to disable it and make my multiplier at 8.5 all the time and my CPU speed at 2.83GHz (stock speed for the E8300). How can I do that, without messing up the settings in the BIOS that fixed the problems above?
There is no real need to disable that function.  After all, it is a feature of your processor, you paid for it and the Multiplier should switch back to default as soon as you CPU gets something to do.  It will only drop to x6 when the system is IDLE to save power and keep the temperatures low.  There should not be any performance sacrifices. Keep in mind that the Core Voltage is reduced as well.  This is all intended to for the benefit of your Processor and therefore for you, after all.
However, if you really think that you want to disable these functions, you may want a little info on what functions are actually involved:
    1) EIST = Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology -> The option is located in the Cell Menu.  You can actually disable EIST on the OS level (and keep in enabled in BIOS).  All you need to do is to turn off the Windows Power Saving Features and set everything to max. Performance.  This disables SpeedStep/EIST, even when the support is still enabled in BIOS.
    2) C1E Support (C1E = Enhanced Halt State) -> This feature can only be disabled in BIOS.  Even if EIST is disabled (OS and/or BIOS), the C1E Feature will still be doing its job.  To disable it, look in the CPU Features Section of the BIOS.  You should find an option there.
In any case, my suggestion would be to keep both functions enabled.  These features are actually rather good.
    Quote
Also how do I set my memory to run at the preferred settings prescribed by the manufacturer, which are:
    CL: 5-5-5-15 2T
    2.2-2.3V
    1066MHz
The standard DDR2 supply voltage is 1.8V +/-0.1V.  The fact that your memory modules need to be overvolted to have a chance to run at DDR2-1066 MHz shows that they are not "real" DDR2-1066 memory modules but actually just DDR2-800 sticks with a manufacturer's permission to overclock them.  Also, keep in mind that the P45 Chipset does not natively support DDR2-1066 memory modules, but DDR2-667 & DDR2-800 only.
This said, you actually need to overclock both the memory controller and the modules, which is not necessarely stable.
To increase the memory voltage, you need to manually adjust the FSB/DRAM Ratio in BIOS to 1:1.6 and manually increase the DRAM Voltage using the +/- keys of your numpad.  Spread Spectrum should be disabled at all times.

  • Q6600 + p45 Platinum

Can you pls give me the Overclock settings for my specs..
    Here's my Specs
    Q6600 (G0 Stepping)
    MSI P45 Platinum Zilent Edition
    Sapphire 4870
    DDR2 1066 4GB KITS (2*2GB) CL: 5-5-5-15 (2.2V - 2.3V)
    Corsair HX620watts

    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=121654.0
Here is a post with a few numbers and screen shots of my bios settings.  Just remember no two setups are just a like.  It takes trial and error, and sometimes several OS reinstalls to get it right.  With a True EX 120, I set my TjMax to 90C, thats 10C below most temperature monitoring programs stock settings.  That gets me 64C on my hottest core with an ambient temperature of 20C while running Prime 95 or OCCT.  That means my quad is doing 74C at stock Coretemp settings.  I am taking a leap of faith the Intel was telling the truth about TjMax being 90C on a Q6600.  If you value your processor, leave that setting on a temperature monitoring program alone and overclock accordingly stay under 70C just to be cautious.
What is the vid of your processor?

  • Calculation of Depreciation for Group Asset

    Hi Experts,
I am getting a problem while doing depreciation for group asset
    Ex:  80,000;  Rate 10%
total depreiaiton p.a is Rs 8000/-
as per the Indian standards if it is below 180 days it should take Rs 4000/-, but in my system it is showing Rs 3333.33
my depreciation start date & capitlization date is 01.11.2007.
    Regards,
    Satya Vani.

    Dear,
    Reshma.
Looking at your Questions let us take explanation for Group Assets :-
1 ) We need to create new different asset class for Group Class in OAOA. Then permit the depreciation area for only Group Asset in OAYM as it is in your current scenario India  is Depreciation Area 15 Just select your company code in OAYM and check the Grp Asset field for respective area 15. Then go to OAAX here we have to maintain the assets classes particularly for Group Assets. So check your Group Asset classes for Group Assets. Cerate different Group asset classes for your said requirement.
In these depreciation areas, it is then possible to make an assignment to a group asset.  You make this assignment in the specifications for the depreciation area in the asset master record.  When you post an acquisition to this kind of asset, the system duplicates the line items from this depreciation area on the given group asset.
2 ) According to me you have to create different depreciation keys for Group Asset classes. Assign the Depreciation keys to your newly created Group Asset Classes in OAYZ and make sure you are deactivating 01 area which is Book Depreciation area.
3 ) As far as I know this is the only functionality available to handle Group Assets. How ever SAP does not have any standard Group Assets functionality. SAP does not supply asset classes to be used solely for group assets. It is we have to determine as per varying Business Process.
I hope this will clear your doubt makes you to understand. Please revert back for further clarification. Welcome you.

  • Differentiating the asset class for group assets

    Hi,
I want to create group assets in AS21. For creating group assets I want to create a seperate asset class. I could not find any option of differentiating the asset class for group assets in transaction OAOA (i.e., Define Asset Class)
How we can identify that an asset class can be used only for group assets and not for individual assets.

    HI
A group asset is represented in the system by a separate master record. The structure of this master record corresponds to the structure of the normal asset master record. You can determine the structure of this master record using screen layout control, just as you do for normal master records. Just the same as a normal asset, a group asset can have any number of sub-numbers. In this way it is possible, for example, to collect all the acquisitions for one year in a single sub-number master record at the level of the group asset.
There is a separate master data transaction for creating group assets (Asset ® Create ® Group asset). This transaction corresponds to the transaction for creating normal assets. However, there are certain special considerations to keep in mind for master data maintenance of group assets:
Group assets can only be deleted when all the assets belonging to them have been marked for deletion.
Group assets can only manage depreciation areas that have been specially marked. You mark them using an indicator in the company code specific specifications for the depreciation area (FI-AA Customizing: Specify depreciation areas for group assets).
Group assets have to be assigned to an asset class, just as normal assets do. You use an indicator in the asset class to specify that the class can be used only for group assets.
Assignment of an Asset to a Group Asset
You can assign an asset to a group asset by specific depreciation areas. For this purpose, there is a special field in the asset master record (in the detail display of each depreciation area). You enter the number of the group asset in this field. Once this entry is made, the system calculates and posts the depreciation for this depreciation area only at the level of the group asset. In this way, you can also assign one asset to different group assets in different depreciation areas.

  • TO for Group (VL06O)

    Hello,
I am facing an issue while creating 'TO for group' using VL06O. Many deliveries are bundled in WM-group.
Sometimes I found that deliveries are skiped while TO creation, but when I again try to create the TO (using TO for group) it giving error that "Group xxxxx already processed".
This way I can not attach the TO with that particular group...
Is there any smooth way to create the "TOs (outbound delievries) bundle to a particular group"
    Please suggest....
    Regards,
    JPS

    Hi JPS,
In our WM environment we group together deliveries and then create transfer orders for the group for the purposes of picking and then allocate picked stock back to deliveries before post goods issue.  We have a slightly different process which works well, which may/may not be applicable to your situation.
    1. Group deliveries by VL06O
    Select deliveries to be grouped
Subsequent fuctions > Group > Wave Pick
    Enter wave description
Then you are given a group number.
    2. Create TOs via transaction LT0E (product will be picked into 996 storage type) for the group number.
    3. Once picked, product is allocated back to deliveries (storage type 916) via LT42.
    Thanks
    Colin

  • P45 Platinum and CPU cooler

Hi all,is Zalman cnps9700nt compatible with MSI P45 Platinum??thanks for the replies

Depending on your case configuration, you can mount it to exhaust to the rear of the case or the top. The other thing I like, is it is a four pin CPU fan connection rather than just a three pin.
Here's a link so you can see what it looks like installed; http://s326.photobucket.com/albums/k432/HU16E/P45/

  • P45 platinum bios/oc issues / Click bios info

damn board is annoying me, it's currently running bios 1.7b9 but it's being a twit, firstly getting it to run the memory at 1066 (I've got 2*2gb kingston hyperX pc8500) is proving really difficult yet it was easy on my previous gigabyte p35 board. The only success I have had so far is to knock the multi down to 11 from 12.5 and thats got me fairly close, cpu is an E5200 btw and currently at fsb of 341 with the ram at 511 , ram voltage doesn't have any effect though I haven't messed with the finer voltages which are on auto
more annoying is the fact that it will do the power up / power straight back off thing 2 or more times when switching on before staying on yet is completly stable when it's on, also it seems to have trouble with the time which keeps changing when powered off, bios battery is fine and I've cleared the bios several times including with the battery removed
I'm putting the time and possibly the power up issues down to the bios version as it was fine on the old 1.6, but is there any other bios between 1.6 and 1.7b9 that would be better to use or shall I just go back to 1.6?
also this Uefi "click" bios which seems rather secretive and mysterious, noticed that there is one available for the P45 platinum but there is absolutly no info on it, has anyone tried it and is it worth me trying it?

    Try:
    - DRAM Voltage = 2.1V
    - DDR_Reference Voltage Settings (Both): 0.9550V
    - Spread Spectrum = Disabled

If you expect it to solve system and memory overclocking issues:  No.
If you have no special needs for an UEFI Implementation (Software Wise): No.
If you simply want to look at it and see how it works:  Well, go ahead.
