P55 1156 GD65, Won't restart propertly after manual DDR3 OC (1333 to 1600).

Problem:
When I  OC the rams from 1333 to1600 in BIOS, I am unable to complete a full restart of the computer when I am in windows.  Once I hit the restart button, the computer would shut down, and then be idle instead of normally booting up.  I would have to then manually push the restart button on my front case in order for the computer to come out of idle to start windows.  (Idle as in the fans are still spinning, computer is still on, black screen.)
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
My computer (First Build):
i5 750 CPU
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus
P55 1156 GD65
Corsair CMX4GX3M2A1600C9 XMS3 4 GB PC3-12800 Core i5 Memory Kit (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145260&Tpk=CMX4GX3M2A1600C9)
MSI GeForce GTX 275 Twin Frozr OC
Antec Earthwatt 650w PSU
Samsung Lightscribe burner
Western Digital Black 750GB
Antec 300 Case
Windows 7 Professional

It is actually not correct, that the BIOS automatically sets the Command Rate to "1T" instead of "2T".  You might wanna report this issue to MSI Technical Support:
http://support.msi.com/
The more people report it, the faster this problem will get fixed in a future BIOS Release.

  • Qosmio g55-q804 won't restart properly after hibernation

my qosmio g55-q804 went into hibernation and now it won't restart properly....it restarts in the safe mode and when going in NORMAL mode, my original desktop appears however, it doesn't respond; my internet connectivity icon has a red X on it, and the programs don't repsond. it works ok in the safe mode with networking but i want to restore my laptop to operate in the normal mode. i've tried system restore while in the safe mode, removing the battery pack, removing the hard drive but to no avail. i'm reluctant at this point to do a full HDD recovery with my recovery CD's....please help! i'm not a computer whiz, and can't afford a new laptop right now

can i create a new account from the safe mode with networking?
I'm not sure. Try it while in Safe Mode and let us know.

Also, let us know how Windows responds when you boot clean (instead of to Safe Mode). You should be able to set this up while in Safe Mode.
       1. Open the System Configuration utility (msconfig.exe).
       2. On the General tab, click Selective startup and clear the Load startup items check box.
       3. On the Services tab, click the Hide all Microsoft services check box and click Disable all.
       4. OK out and restart the computer.

  • Won't restart successfully after Tiger installation --- Help!

    Howdy!
I'm finally updating to OS X from 9.2.2. Everything was humming along smoothly with the installation. My computer restarted after installation, but then hung for quite a while on the grey apple screen with the twirlygig at the bottom of the screen, and then, horror of all horrors, a big circle with a slash replaced the apple... and there it stays. I have to manually reboot the machine to get it to restart to either the old 9.2 partition or from the 10.4.3 installation DVD.
From the Tiger DVD, I've verified and repaired the disk and permission (if didn't come up with any errors, but I repaired it anyway).
I've re-installed the OS with all devices except the keyboard unplugged -- nothing changed.
    Any ideas?
I'm trying to install it onto a 120 GB Maxtor internal drive that has not given me any problems in the past. The hd is partitioned for a 9 and X OS... I also still have the original 20 GB internal hd installed.
Should I try removing RAM that was added years ago? Or installing it onto the original 20 GB hd? Or will I have to try an Erase and Install? Will this option just erase the partition set up for OS X, or will it erase the entire hard disk?
    Thanks for any assistance.

I'm actually unsure if the version of Disk Utility on the Tiger Install disc can do an erase and install on one partition of a partitioned hard drive or if the erase and install wipes the entire HD; I'll have to check into that when I can. There was in the past a known issue where OS X had to be installed on the first partition of a partitioned HD; I believe that's no longer true, but the default at startup for OS X is to look for the OS X System on the first partition (if you hold the 'x' key down at startup to boot into OS X, that's the expected location). If the OS 9 partition is the first partition, that may be throwing the OS X Install restart off. You might check to see if using Startup Manager to select the second partition works. I'd also rename the partition from "OS X" to somethhing else (say "OSTen"), just to be safe.

  • MacBook Pro won't restart properly after restore

I recently needed to do a restore on my MacBook Pro 15" (2008).  My computer indicated that the restore was successful and to restart.  When I did, I get a screen with what looks to be some type of code in the upper left and a box in the middle that tells me that I need to restart and to hold the power button down until the computer shuts down.  I've done this numerous times; removed all external drives, ejected the back-up cd, taken out the battery, did a safe boot, did a boot holding down option, command P & R but nothing.  Any other solutions to get this to restart properly?  Thanks!!

    Those are kernel panics.
Did you do a full restore from Time Machine backups?
If so, see #E8 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting
    If not, please clarify.

  • Allow auto-restart option after manual initiating Windows updates

When doing manual windows updates please provide a 'auto-restart' check box at the beginning of the process.  It would make the process much cleaner if after begging the download/install process, (then walking off for coffee) if on return, the process
was finished rather the stopped at a  'Restart your PC to finish installing updates' request

    1. This is Windows 10 TP forum. Are you sure you have posted in the right forum ?
    2. Microsoft intentionally makes Windows Update automatic in Windows 10 TP. Manual update option is not even available.
    3. If one wants Manual Update, one will have to do some registry editing.
Which brings me back to the first point..... are you sure you have posted in the right forum ?

  • Mac won't restart after updating to OS X Mountain Lion

Mac won't restart after updating to OS X Mountain Lion. Please help?

Like what happens?  Is it just spinning?
If you've waited sufficiently long (say 10 minutes) you could just hit the power button which will do the trick.  A little more gentle would be to open a terminal window (if you can) and type 'sudo reboot' (without the quotes) and enter your password when it asks.  That will do it too.

  • IMac won't restart after installing OS X 10.6

All I get after installing Mac OSX 10.6 Lion, is a spinning wheel of death. What is going on that it won't restart properly?

Nevermind, I have found a work around. Have to start in "safe mode" then the Setup Assistant will launch properly and the Software Update also works properly.
    On to Lion & 10.8!

My MacBook Air (v Fall 2011) won't restart after installing Mavericks.  I have done the instal several times, done the disk repair, I have had 2 visits to the local Apple store where they installed Mavericks with their software only to return home and have it fail again.  Does anyone know of issues with the SSD or memory?
Next visit to the Apple store is Tuesday morning 12-17-13.  Anywthing that can help us would be appreciated.  Tks David

  • I just tried to wake up my 4 year-old MacBook Pro after perhaps an hour of inactivity, and it just 'pinwheels' and won't restart. HELP!!!!!!!!!

I just tried to wake up my 4 year-old MacBook Pro after perhaps an hour of inactivity, and it just 'pinwheels' and won't restart. HELP!!!!!!!!!
Semi-experienced user - Western New York.
System was operating nominally until I opened it from 'sleep' mode after ~1 hour of inactivity.
No idea what's going on. I had just installed a Flash Player update [not an atypical occurrence] at ~6:00 PM this evening, but used the system without incident after that. Re-Start attempt does not appear to succeed, the circular pre-OS icon never clears and displays the authorization screen.
Anyone with an idea how to help would be greatly appreciated. We have so much personal and business data on this machine!!!
    Thanks!
    Jim F.

Press and hold the power button for a few seconds until the power shuts off, then release, wait a few more seconds, and press it again briefly to restart.
The fact that you're worried about the data implies that you have no backups, or that you don't have confidence in your backups. Your first priority must be to back up all the data you intend to keep. Ask if you need guidance.

  • Macbook won't restart after Safari 3.1 upgrade

I followed the prompts to install the Safari 3.1 update yesterday. Now my MacBook won't restart ... the spinning gear spins forever, even when I try to start in safe mode. (I was really patient, but after 7 hours it's probably not just checking directories.) Single-user mode boot also fails. How screwed am I? And I don't even use Safari!

It sounds like there is directory corruption. Might have been present before the Safari 3.1 upgrade. However, the upgrade, which updates the WebKit files, may have triggered the corruption.
Logical next step would be to Archive and Install the Operating System. If you have Disk Warrior, then I'd try that first - it's quite the marvel for fixing directory problems not recognized by Apple's Disk Utility. If you are not familiar with the Archive process, another suggestion would be to bring your machine to an Apple Store>Genius Bar, if there is one in your area, or to a certified Apple Tech.

Acrobat Pro for Mac won't start, even after restarting the machine.  Any suggestions?

    Hi Patrick,
Can you please mention the version of Adobe Acrobat that you are using and on what OS version. Also mention whether this problem has started recently and was running fine earlier or is it a fresh install and has never worked for you.
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the product after you started facing this issue.

  • My Iphone still won't charge even after I had tried plugging it in and waiting then restarting it, it still showed up on the screen that it has to be charged, even when it was in the USB port. Help please

My Iphone still won't charge even after I had tried plugging it in and waiting then restarting it, it still showed up on the screen that it has to be charged, even when it was in the USB port. I tried plugging it into the wall, a computer, I even switched out the USB cables but it still wouldn't charge. Help me please

    Hello Isabellap,
It sounds like your iPhone 4S is not charging when plugged in.  I found an article with some steps that might help with this.  I recommend reviewing the steps in the sections titled "Battery does not charge from the USB power adapter" and "Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off" in the following article:
