P55-GD65 BIOS bug

Hi! I`m having compatibility problems with my imon remote/reciever! It is supposed to turn the computer ON but the BIOS won`t let it! There`s no option in the BIOS for turning on the computer by USB device! It works by shorting the power button pins, but if the USB cable is connected it doesn`t work.

Songokussm the same issues I reported to support, they responded to me, that my MB is faulty and I should RMA ( did it twice, 4 month without MB ) I prove them otherwise, I had 3MB P55-GD65 with the same issues. Short speaking every MB with ERP=040 is faulty on engineering level Overvoltage like you described, problems with fans on sysfan1 and sysfan2, restore AC on power loss not working correctly and sometimes USB2 stops responding.
My conversation with MSI support ended when they statement that they can`t check if I`m correct because they don`t have MB with ERP=040, so the problem is .... gone I bet that with bios 1.9 in your case issue still occur but is`t less "visible".

Recommended memory settings in P55-GD65 BIOS

Hi All,
I was having all kind of BSOD problems with OCZ (OCZ3G1333LV4GK) memory on the P55-GD65 motherboard.
All problems seems to be solved by manually setting the DRAM voltage to 1.65v in the BIOS.
The rest of the settings is still on auto. Will it be good to manually adjust these also, for performance and a stability?
If so, what settings I have to make?

The BIOS shows the modules are running at 1333.
The Weird thing is I had many BSOD problems before I changed the voltage and on SevenForums I was advised to run Run Memtest86+.
I runned Memtest86+ run a few times for over 8 hours and it showed no errors at all.

P55-GD65 Bios Can't Detect Hard Drives

I can't get my motherboard bios to detect my hard drives (An OCZ Agility SSD and WD Black). My SATA DVD drive is detected properly. I have a Corsair HX850 power supply. My P55-GD65 came with 1.4 Bios.
I had tried default optimised settings and also having AHCI enabled. I tried different SATA cables as well as SATA power cables. I tried plugging the hard drives in different SATA slots including the one that worked with the dvd drive. I cleared CMOS. I'm stumped. Should I look into flashing a new bios?

P55-GD65 BIOS FREEZE

Hi!
Ive been running my P55-GD65 for almost an year no with only the problem of "dual-booting" I turn computer on it turns itself off and then it goes on again and works normally, that has something to do with overclocking and I have the TURBO on with my i5 so I didnt mind that, and the another "problem" was that I couldnt reboot computer normally I had to turn it off and turn on again because I have the memory set to 1T.
But today, the computer freezed on BIOS after detecting hard drives. When I turned the computer off and on again it worked normally, but it dual-booted. (Dual-booting happens like 1/4)
""Press DEL to Bios and F11 to Boot menu 0085 0087 "" was the last text on the screen when it freezed.
Should I start panicking? Or was it just some random freeze, because the temps here are pretty icy, CPU 30C and HDDs vary from 16 to 30C.
Any ideas? Should I set the memory to 2T next time I boot?

Yes, and run it at 9-9-9-24 1.5v.
Disconnect that Seagate hard drive and see if you have any problems still. Looks like that drive could be failing though. A failing hard drive can certainly cause problems on start-up.

P55-GD65 (Bios 1.6) Need help with RAID-1 and SATA DVD-RW

Sorry if this has been already asked; did a search.
Trying to configure 2-Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 750 GB drives in a RAID-1.
I also have a SATA DVD-RW plugged in as well.
I enabled RAID mode = RAID in BIOS, pressed CTRL-I when booting to enter Intel's RAID configure screen, when there set the RAID 1 volume, exited.
Booted into Windows XP, went to load the RAID driver and..... no DVD-RW to read the disk. ?
Back in the BIOS, sure enough, all the SATA devices had disappeared except for SATA 7.
Is this a restriction of Intel RAID - that you have any RAID, all the SATA ports are RAID only?
I couldn't find any settings to choose which SATA ports are RAID and which are not.

But that is a disappointment. Apparently, with these Intel SATA controllers, RAID is an all or nothing proposition - turn on RAID and that will be the only use for SATA1-SATA6. MSI p55-gd65 1.8 bios update issue

Here we go:
So I prompted myself to update my p55-gd65 bios from...either 1.6 or 1.7? to 1.8 I used the LiveUpdate Online feature on MSI's website. Seemed to be fine after until my computer sometimes froze while watching streaming flash videos.
I thought it was caused by an outdate video driver so I updated it, either before or after the video update (can't remember) I shut down and reset the CMOS settings (took out the battery for +30sec), still froze.
Decided to Update the Intel 3/4/5 Chipset v9.1.1 provided by MSI, completely wiped the video driver, reinstalled it, still froze. Wiped adobe flash player and cache from firefox, reinstalled flash...still froze.
I noticed too late that the LiveUpdate requires 32bit Win7. and that the manual DL for the bios update I tried installing popped up with an OS incompatibility error. Does v1.8 not support 64bit? or would it have been better for me to flash the bios update?

P55-GD65 BSOD Issues, Help very much appreciated!

I recently bought a new PC with a P55-GD65 motherboard and Im getting a lot of blue screens.
I started a topic on SevenForums and attached all dump files but it seems the problem is hard to pin down.

Im using the latest BIOS (1.5), Im running Windows 7 x64 Home Premium with latest updates and Im using the latest MSI drivers for the Motherboard.
The only software installed is:
- Eve Online client
- Steam and Modern Warfare 2
- Teamspeak RC2
- MS Security Essentials
- PC Angel (revovery software)
On SevenForums I was advised to check my harddrives, I runned HD Tune and my drives showed no errors.
I was also advised to run memtest, Im running it for over 4.5 hours now without any errors.
I realy dont know what I can do anymore. Do you guys have any advise what else I can try?
I have changed nothing in the BIOS itself and Im not overclocking the system.
Should I manually adjust some settings maybe?

MSI P55 GD65 SLI Problem

Hi I am running 2 x gtx460 in sli mode, looking at the mobo specs the link width should be x8 x8. However using both gpuz and pc wizard 2010, they showed that the cards are running at x8 and x4. Are there any settings to change?

P55 GD65 - Advice

When I first installed new system, everything was running fine. Enabled XMP in bios and memory was running stable at proper timings and voltage.
Unrelated to the memory, I was having problems with the nvlddmkm error, where the screen goes black for a second followed by the message “nvlddmkm.sys has recovered from an error”. Somehow I was able to get rid of that problem but it was replaced by the same symptom, being caused by a services.exe login.
Anyway both of these events cause the video card memory controller load to spike to 100% and stay there until the system is restarted. Video card people said to update bios and see what happens.
So, after updating bios, (from 1.2 to 1.7) system is fine at auto settings (9-9-9-24-2t). If I enable XMP, I get two or three restarts…system stays on, but no video.
I’m just an old guy doing cadd work, looking for a stable system.
Anyone know what version bios for this board allows XMP to work?
If anyone has any suggestions on the nvlddmkm or services.exe login I will take those too.

P55-GD65 OC Genie not functioning

Testing the OC Genie function on my new system
Turned it on, the MSI splash screen appears with the text, "OC Genie Activated!!"
It then goes to a black screen and system restarts, did this about 4 times and then went to a black screen with just the fans running and would not load any further.
Let it sit there a good 5 minutes. Held down power and turned off OC Genie.

Best then is to try it manual, if your confident enough.
But remember, if someone gets his i7 750 to 3.8GHz, that isnt a garantuee that yours will too.
If yours barely skipped QC, say it reached 2.7GHz stable when testing, they still sell it, but you will never reach a decent oc with it.
Since no one of us can tell if thats the case with any cpu, only thing you can do is try it manually and see how far it clocks.
Also be sure that you check in regularly at MSI site for updates, might be just a fluke in bios and MSI will post new one as soon as its resolved ( if there is an issue with oc genie that is ).

MSI P55-GD65 freeze

Hi,
I recently set up a system with:
MSI P55 GD65 BIOS ver 1.20
Intel i5-750 Lynnfield 2.66 GHz
Corsair TW3X4G1333C9 DDR3 1333 4GB (2x2)
Corsair TX-750 PSU
I'm having random freezes even booting "Winki" from the DVD I found with the motherboard (I also have Win7 64bit but has not fresh installed from prior configuration (Asus socket AM2 board) so instability could be due to many causes, but not with Winki).
I tryed only the standard settings in BIOS ("Optimized and Failsafe") because I don't know what changes are safe in CPU or Memory settings.
I didn't try to update the BIOS yet because this is my second P55 GD65 Motherboard sent me after RMAed the first (that had the same issues) because after the BIOS update made with M-Flash, it died. After death of first motherboard, I read MSI forum and discovered (too late) that M-Flash is not safe for BIOS update (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=119375.0). I also read (again, too late) that to update BIOS is recommended a stable system (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=103441.0).
I read also that with Corsair RAMs, the voltage and/or timings have to be changed, but I don't know neither where (I see the menu in BIOS but I don't know which particular settings have to be changed) nor how much I can change settings without risk of damages.
I hope to have written all the necessary info and I apologize for my english, I'm italian

I will reinstall Win7 but I would like to have a stable machine first. At this moment I'm booting with Winki but sometimes and randomly it freezes, so I think it's not a software problem but an hardware/bios one.

MSI P55-GD65 soft reset issue

I have an issue with soft reset, and restart from Win7 x64 or Ubuntu. After I made these restarts or soft reset, the PC is not responding only for a hard reset or for the power button hold to power off the PC.
I have:
MB: MSI p55-gd65, BIOS is 1.A
RAM: Mushkin 996659es 2x2GB ES3-12800
CPU: Intel Core i7-860 (stock clockspeed)
CPU cooler: Scythe Kama Angle with 3 Scythe 12cm Fans
GPU: MSI GTX260 TwinFrozr OC 896MB
HDD: 500GB Samsung HD502HJ and 1000GB WDC WD10EADS-00L5B1
DVD: NEC/Optiarc DVD RW AD-7240S
PSU: Cougar GX-600
Chassis: Lancool K58 with 2x140cm fans front, 2x140cm fans top, 1x140cm fan side, 1x120cm fan back (all fans are Fractal Design)
And other issue I have is the Turbo Boost not working correctly after I updated the BIOS. It only can 3.34 GHz oc, before 1.A it can do more than 3.5, 3.6 GHz.
All issues came out after a successful BIOS update with LiveUpdate. After I have found the issues I tried BIOS's M-Flash from a pendrive, issues came out again after a time.

I found that the BIOS has a faulty High/Low VDrop usage, because Low VDrop gets the error, but when I change it to High VDrop this error is gone. I haven't tried with OC-ing the CPU yet.

The system runs OK as it is, although I haven't really beat on it yet.
It just takes a really long time in the BIOS before it gets around
to booting the system.
Power up to initial BIOS screen 14 sec
Shows "USB Device(s)..." for about 45 seconds, then shows the
ATA and SATA devices for an instant, then blank screen.
35 seconds after that to Windows boot
Is there any setting I can tweak to speed this up?
I had hoped this rig would be faster than the GA-7DXR+Athlon
XP 1.9 it is hopefully going to replace.
I read another post about memory timimg, but BIOS shows 1333.

BIOS doesn't change CPU Voltage P55-GD65

I have a P55-GD65 with BIOS Ver 1.7
No matter what setting I put the the CPU voltage it seems to run in auto only. I have tried many combination's of settings that I have read on the forums but nothing seems to be working.
Has anybody had this problem?

Yes even when I have Intel C-STATE and Intel EIST disabled.
The voltage is much lower. I can't over clock because I cannot up the CPU voltage. I have the CPU multiplier at 21 and the clock at 155. If I go even up to 156 on the clock my system will blue screen.
When I put the voltage in Auto and monitor it and then put it in manual and crank it up to 1.45 and monitor it the voltage behaves as it is in auto. I have XMS 1600 memory and the Mugen B rev 2 cooler so I know that is not an issue. I might have a defective MB. I've been building PC's for years so I'm not a newbe. I've usually used Supermicro boards and this is my first MSI board. The board is very nice and if it worked it would be great. I was going to build another system with that board but am a little gun shy now.
