P55CD-53 Freezes/crash when a device is plugged at back panel(usb,audio ports)

Hello, I'm a new P55CD-53 user and I have a problem with my board's back-panel ports(usb, audio).
Whenever I plug a device at the back panel, my computer freezes or restarts. :(

Its only an old AVR(from my old p4 computer,previous than the previous one). My UPS's battery that I used with my previous computer(after P4) died, it can not hold any charge now.

Try clearing privacy data in browser to get a bit of ram back. if no good , do hard reset, you'll need to re-set up phone so back up first. Then type *#7370# and use passkey 12345 and phone will re-start and be like'out of the box' your memory card will not be affected.

that's usually due to a plug-in over-riding Safari's built-in pdf support.
Quit any browsers & remove any 'pdf...' plugins from either of these folders

Dreamweaver CC crashes when I click on + sign in Transition panel. It only happens in a document created from template. The panel works seamlessly otherwise in in both original (index) and template documents. If you had any idea why... thanks, yours Peter

Certainly: Its Win7 and DW CC seems to be LS20. I have reinstalled DW CC and the same problem occurs.
In detail:
I create a template from my Index page with editable region.
Then I create a new document from the template.
Now the transitions work, are editable - only adding a new one crashes DW.
Next I will have CS6 and CC both reinstalled, and hope for the best.

Get another good pair of headphones and compare the plugs. Look for damage or differences. Maybe the end had broken off causing your problem. The try the other set in the iPod.

Macbook Pro crashes when External HD is plugged in

Hi,
Was wondering if anyone else had experienced their Mac crashing when attaching an external HD or had any suggestions on how to recover the data?
When I attach the drive, the screen freezes for a second and reboots the whole machine. I then get the grey screen which says "Your computer has been restarted because of a problem. Press a key or wait a few seconds before starting up"
Have tried to attach the hard drive to a different Mac Book but had the same issue. Until this happened I had no other issues with the drive, it had been working perfectly.
Any advice would be very much appreciated!

Step one would be to try another cable or connection type, but since you've provided no info on the HD or enclosure, there's no way to provide a viable answer.

I had an old iPhone SDK, where there is no iPhoneOS and iPhoneOS Simulator yet ,
instead of them, it contains Aspen and Aspen Simulator.
When my iPod is connecting and xcode tries to upload app I get the
error. (i had not signed it from apple yet, it's in progress now, so i
get error during upload)
Some days ago, I download latest iPhone SDK, and after installing it,
i have a problem - when iPod Touch is plugged, xcode crashes, because it can't
get a _AMDevice...USBID symbol. at

I tried to replace this framework, from older sdk, but the problem
does not disappear. then I replaced
developer/platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/developer/library/xcode/plug-ins/iPhoneRem oteDevice.xcodeplugin
by file from oldest sdk, from aspen platform,
developer/platforms/aspen.platform/developer/library/xcode/plug-ins/aspensupport .xcodeplugin
after doing that, xcode does not crash anymore, but when i try to
upload my app to iPod i get an error that "not provisioned iPhone OS
device is connected", and iPod does not react to this, and I noticed
that the time between clicking build'n'go and the appearing of this
error is too short, imho. i think there is no attemt to connect to the
device, but in the organizer iPod is present.
SDK was installed after updating to iTunes 7.7, BTW, iTunes also crashes during upload apps.
I can't understand how i can fix this.
So is it correct to replace new xcodeplugin, by oldest xplugin from other sdk ?

AE CS4 Crashes when I drag media from the project panel to the timeline

Hello,
I have a problem dragging media from the project pannel to the timeline. Several times a day AE will crash when I do this. Currently I'm using the latest MAC Pro with 11 gig of Ram and Duel 27 inch monitors. Everything worked fine in CS3, but when I upgraded to CS4 I started having this issue. I have AE spread over both monitors. Could that be a problem? Are there any know issue with dragging? Any ideas?

Since there are millions of context-specific reasons why this could happen -and also considering it's not happening to the majority of users out there-, it would be really helpful if you could fill out the Adobe Crash Reporter dialog that pops up when AE crashes (it just asks for what you were doing when the app crashed, and your e-mail info). When you send that, it includes a report about the crash that can be very useful to help the engineers figure out why it crashed.
Here's a blog post on what kind of data is sent through the Crash Reporter and why is it so important that you fill it and send it, if at all possible.

Why does my ipod keep freezing up when i try to turn it back on?

every time my ipod dies and i try to turn it back on it freezes up.. why? also every time i try to use an app it goes in and in like 5 seconds the app closes.. i've restored it but that only helps for a few days and then goes back to doing the same.. what can i do to make that stop or should i get a new itouch? it also freezed up when i try to reset it..

If it is still acting up after a restore, you more than likely nave a hardware issue.

System hangs when any device is plugged into usb port

Motherboard: MSI RS480M2

Most of the posts on this site are over my head so keep responses simple.
I upgraded this computer myself about 3 months ago with the above listed new proccessor and motherboard. Everything had been working fine until a couple of days ago the computer hung while surfing the internet. Reboot attempt was unsuccessfull. Windows would hang everytime while loading. My primary hard drive was about 4 years old and wanting to upgrade to a larger drive anyway I installed the above listed Maxtor hard drive yesterday thinking it might solve the problem. It looked like it was solving the problem until I started plugging in USB devices. If I plug in my Epson USB printer or my USB jump drive, the computer hangs immediately. If I plug in my Microsoft Joystick or CH rudder pedals, it gives me a message that an unknown device is plugged in and that the device has failed. It appears the that hard drive replacement actually did nothing to change the problem. I had not thought to unplug USB devices as a solution to the problem initially. Once I plug in my printer or jump drive the computer is doing exactly what it was doing before.
I am pretty convinced there has been a failure on the motherboard. To have everything working fine for 3 months and suddenly without any software changes it stops working. Then, after reloading all the software again to still have the same exact problem. I think that pretty much eliminates software as an issue and it also eliminates the hard drive as a problem.
I did have a problem finding my motherboard's CD but I downloaded the system drivers from the MSI website plus I installed Live Update 3 and installed everything it recommended including a new BIOS. I also loaded the SATA RAID files from the floppy which I did have here (even though I am not using the SATA RAID feature). I feel confident I got everything installed now and still not working. Everything else works perfectly as long as I do not plug anything into USB ports.

Anyway, we can close this out. I took my computer in and had a diagnosis run on it. It turns out the USB portion of the motherboard has failed and they are replacing it now.
To answer the question though. I had removed both the old hard drives when I initially installed the new MAXTOR and still had the problem and I did make sure they were jumpered as slaves before I connected them back up later.

WiFi device that plugs directly into the USB slot on a printer?

My next door neighbor has a MacBook with Airport installed. She wants to use the portable around the house and send documents to a printer located in the basement. She does not need a router to network additional devices, so what is the most reliable, reasonably priced device that plugs directly into the printer's USB port without the use of a cable (e.g. device with receiving antenna)? Well, Badunit, it's more convenient and takes up less room if it plugs directly into the USB port, plus you save the cost of a cable unless one ships with the unit. Here are two I found at Amazon:

Trouble is, they have too many negative reviews. Besides, just how well do they work with the Airport Extreme card since most of these reviews are not Mac related, and those that are are negative?
I'd like a device that is guaranteed to work well with the 2008 MacBook Airport card as the broadcast device. Perhaps she will have to rely on a separate Linksys router with print server.

I ran a disk utility told me that mack HD was found corrupt and nesds to be repaired.
It said to start up my computer using my Mac osx disc then use disk utility to repair. Problem is it keeps spitting the OSX disc out.
Not sure if this is related to my computer freezing when i stream video maybe someone here knows??

You need to hold the "C" key down during the startup process, and you need to be using the correct CD, if you've got the right one it will mention holding the C key on it somewhere (may be in small type).
The Netflix crashes are very likely because of the problem with the hard drive.

Mail application freezing / crashing when sending mail

I've posted about this in other threads too, but decided to post about it as a new thread to see if anyone else has also experienced this.
I upgraded by first gen iPhone to firmware 2.0, and in general everything seems to be working fine with the exception of the minor lag issues that others have also reported when typing messages or selecting items in some scenarios.
The one annoying thing I have noticed though is that the mail application has now crashed twice, seemingly randomly when I've typed an email and then tried to send it. I don't know if the size of the message or length of time actually played into it but they were both on the long side. This happened from my Gmail IMAP account. Basically as soon as I clicked send it showed the sending bar at the bottom and then became unresponsive. It should be noted that the mail app was unresponsive and that the phone and the OS still seemed to be working as I could either force the app to quit or go into standby and then resume, which also seemed to kick it back to the launcher.
These two events were separated by about two days and a restore "as a new phone" (just to eliminate all possibility that the previous crash was caused by any flaw in the backed up settings). Also I'd successfully sent about 15 test emails back and forth in the interim without issue, and later in the same night also sent an email successfully to the same person.
At this point the issue seems random, for all I know it may never happen again, but given that when it does happen I seem to annoyingly lose the email I was typing; I thought I'd bring it up here to see if anyone else has experienced it.
In general the other functions of the phone and the apps all seem to be stable so at this point I would suspect the mail app itself or maybe a fluke with Goolge's servers rather than an issue with the phone.

I think the send receive issues and the issues I'm mentioning may be slightly different. The sending issue (based on another thread on the same subject) may have to do with "incorrect" SMTP server settings for a given account. From the sound of it, this issue will crash the app every time.
The random freezing I'm talking about seems to be general instability in the mail app itself since version 2. It's very possible that these two issues may be related in some ways. While at times the app is totally fine, I've had it freeze randomly a couple of times while simply flicking through an email. While this seemed totally random, I suppose it could have been linked to some of the background syncing operations that mail does. For example, as I was browsing through the mail the app tried to initiate a background sync, froze, and to me it appeared to be a random freeze.
While I could see someone dismiss this as a fault with my specific iPhone. I should mention that I never had this happen before 2.0, that it is the only app in 2.0 that has exhibited this specific behavior, and that every time it has happened it is the app that has crashed and not the phone itself. In other words, I can always do a forced quit back out to the OS and everything is fine. I actually have not experienced any of the random phone resetting issues that some people have noted, so as far as the OS is concerned, things seem stable in my case.

Calendar freezes/crashes when viewing meeting participants (reproducable)

I've got my iPad synched to GMail / Google Calendar using the Exchange protocol. I also use Google Desktop Sync to sync my Outlook events to Google Calendar, so they also appear on my iPad.
Now on my Ipad I open a meeting and view the participants. If I then do something like hiding the on-screen keyboard or pressing Cancel, the Calendar app often freezes or even crashes back to the Welcome screen. This happens every time, so it must be a bug. I tried a full reboot of my iPad, but that didn't help.

I just got my Pre 2 days ago and only now discovered the inability to add attendees to a meeting request....definitely a dealbreaker. They have 28 days to figure this out before the device goes back. I've used PalmOS, GoodLink, and most recently WM for the last few years. As a business user looking for a mix of both the social and business...business basics being a must, I would certainly expected this to be there. I knew I was giving up somethings coming from WM (mature) to WebOS (newborn), but didn't think things like this were missing. Makes me wonder what else I haven't discovered yet. I know they will be making updates, but some of these really shouldn't have been missing. After looking at my co-workers iPhone today, which is not all that superb either for Outlook & Office sync, it makes me wonder if my expectations are wrong and that nothing will every sync better with Office than WM since it's all Microsoft. I'm sure they'll update the device periodically, but this is making me re-think.

Freezes (crashes) when using BFS-patched kernels

I've been trying several BFS-patched kernels since a few months ago and when I'm using them it almost always ends up with a complete freeze of my computer within a few hours: the mouse pointer doesn't move anymore, CTRL-ALT-F1 doesn't do anything, the only thing I can do is keep the power button pressed for 4 seconds to switch my computer off.
The crashes/freezes often happen when clicking a button in Firefox, but it also happened when opening Firefox, or closing a game.
The kernels I have tried are kernel26-pentium-m (kernel 2.6.34 with Zen patchset) and kernel26-bfs (kernel 2.6.35 with BFS patch) from AUR.
I'm running XFCE4 on an Asus A6G laptop (Pentium-M, ATI Radeon 9700 mobility with xf86-video-ati.)
I'm simply not getting this kind of unexpected crashes with non-patched kernels, even those I have configured and built myself.
Anyone having the same symptoms? Any idea about the problem or how to solve it?
Alternatively, any solution to improve video playback and reduce input lag in video games that take 100% cpu time without resorting to BFS is welcome .

Actually I've updated the kernel to the 2.6.35 version, and provided link for the binaries (check the AUR entry :: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=33104 )
I don't have any problems with it, but im using chromium, not firefox.
Still, you should check /var/log/Xorg.0.log
edit: the idea would be to 'diff' the two config files :s

edit2 :: notice that you still need the kernel-headers (kernel sources) for compiling the graphical driver (nvidia or ATI catalyst in your case)
ive put also the kernel26-pentium-m-headers binary package in the same dir as the binary package for the kernel.
