P55M-GD45 win 7 x64 1.99GB useable

I have been looking all over for an answer for this and it all points to Memory Remapping being disabled. I have the updated BIOS (1.4) and I cant see an option to enable Memory Remapping.
From a forum search most topics say that is enabled by default, but if that was the case then what else is the problem? I have my 2x 2GB sticks in DIMM slots 1 and 3 as instructed in the mobo's manual.
Does this board somehow not support it? The BIOS does list both of my RAM sticks and a total of 4GB.
**edit*
Yes i do have windows 7 x64 ultimate

Hi,
There is no memory remapping option in BIOS because this feature is automatically enabled on all MSI boards featuring an Intel Chipset that natively support more than 4GB of address decode space.  Your problem has nothing to do with memory remapping.

It could be a W7 problem (sometimes it helps to reinstall the OS), or, which is also possible, a problem regarding the proper contact between the CPU Socket Pins and the CPU's contact pads.  Remove the CPU from the socket and have a good look at the CPU's contact pads to find out if there are pads that do not show any imprint from CPU Socket pins.  Sometimes reseating CPU & Heatsink properly solves this kind of contact problems.

  • P55M GD45 experience; only 1.1 bios works, forum usb key boot didn't work, Win 7

My experience. Got board w/ 1.1 BIOS installed, installed Win 7 64-bit. Used LiveUpdate to flash BIOS to 1.5.
Then box froze at "Starting Windows" screen. However it would boot ok to Safe Mode, and also Safe Mode with Networking. It wouldn't boot to Knoppix, Ubuntu LiveCD, ... (In Windows 7, I spent hours trying stuff, did boot logging, turned off startup services, piles of stuff, but didn't seem to be getting anywhere...)
Tried using the Forum USB Key boot for BIOS flashing. Couldn't get it to boot, just got black blank screen with cursor. (Could this be because board doesn't support 98/ME?)
Finally figured out the M-Flash option, and tried 1.4, which gave same results as 1.5. Then went back to 1.1 and that got my Win 7 booting again ok. Then tried 1.2 and that gave same result as 1.4/1.5 (screen freezing), so went back to 1.1.
Later tested out HP USB key booter and that worked for me, though I didn't end up using it for anything, since I went with the M-Flash.
I was hoping that this new board would help me have better eSATA (hot-swappable/recognizable), than my previous setup but it's actually worse. With my old setup, I could plug in an eSATA drive, then Add Hardware, and the drive would be recognized by Win (XP). With this new setup, eSATA drives only get recognized if I have them connected and on before I boot up my box. Not good. Also, the BIOS has a tendency to prioritize the eSATA's before the regular SATA's in boot order, which seems weird.
Anyone else have any experiences like this? Any suggestions on moving towards a BIOS upgrade and more eSATA functionality (ideally without spending another 12 hours on it )
Thanks for reading and in advance for any suggestions!!

I have exactly the same problem and a reinstallation won't solve anything !

No problem with the last bios 1.1.
!!!!! Totaly unstable with the last bios 1.5 !!!
I read your solution about reinstalling the OS after a bios update (that's the first
time that I read it and I owned something as 15 motherboards in the last 10 years...but
you have 20k post so I think that you know what you write...)
So I tried to REINSTALL after "upgrade" of the firmware 1.5 of the MSI P55M-GD45.
I did it with a USB KEY....not [email protected] with defaults values !
The only thing to do is downgrade the bios in 1.1 and now no problem @ 3.8 GHz !!!
WHY IS THIS BIOS SO unstable ?
    What will MSI do ?
I have never had a so unstable motherboard after a bios upgrade !

  • How can I print to Officejet 6700 from Win XP x64 computer?

Purchased the 6700 and conencted to network and prints from Win 7 laptops fine.
My desktop workstation in HP Z600 running Win XP X64, but cannot seem to get a driver to suit to print over the network.
I would prefer not to have to trash and replace the OS on the workstation!
Is there a work-around or some sort of interface that I could use?
My home network does have a little HP server, but it runs Win Server 2003, which is also incapable to connecting to the printer.

  • Win 7 x64 LJ2100tn network install

I could use some new ideas about installing a Laserjet 2100tn through a network with a Linksys wrt54GS router. Printer works fine on network through XP, with 3 desktops, 1 laptop and 1 netbook.  Tried the HP network diagnostic through XP and it can't find the printer - used Ping and telnet to i.p. address and they can't find it either - but printer WORKS fine. Looks like the printer currently runs under IPX.
In Win 7 x64 I tried all the new drivers from HP, and installation for PCL 5, 6 and PS but the printer installation routines can't find the printer. Deleted and re-installed about a billion times (roughly) in the last week. Updated router firmware, and drivers for motherboard and ethernet connection.
I won't switch to Win 7 until I work out some fix for this.
Thanks to all that can send suggestions.

Try accessing the embedded web server by typing the IP address of the printer in a browser on the PCs. Maybe a firewall on the PC is interfering with the HP software finding the printer and with ping. You could also try temporarily turning off any/all firewall software running on the Win 7 PC to see if this might be the problem.
You could also try HP's free Webjet Admin software to see if it helps with finding the printer or diagnosing the problem.
    http://h20338.www2.hp.com/Hpsub/cache/332262-0-0-225-121.html
Also, a few notes for what they are worth:
    1) Window 7 doesn't support IPX (so if you are really trying to use IPX and not using additional software to provide IPX support on the PC, that could be a problem). But the standard TCP port for HP printers is 9100, the software should be trying to send PCL to port 9100 (when it can find the printer). I believe the network implementation in this printer does support IPX and so it could very well be what the XP PCs were set up to use.
    2) This printer uses a JetDirect card for networking. The network diagnostic that I think you are referring to was designed for inkjet printers which use a different networking implementation (mostly the same functionality but different implementation), so this diagnostic might have some troubles working with this printer.
    Hope something here is helpful.

  • Win 7 x64 Driver for a 32bit CF Cardbus Adapter (x61)

Does anyone know where I can get a Win 7 x64 driver for a 32bit CF cardbus adapter mounted in the Lenovo x61 internal multicard reader?
I am running Win 7 x64 on a Lenovo X61 7675-CTO.  I have an Viking 32 Bit High Speed Compact Flash Cardbuss Adapter inserted in the internal multicard reader.  When I insert a CF card in the reader, I get  "Mass Storage Controller" and "drivers for this device are not installed" error indicators from the Windows Device Manager.
This configuration was working fine for me under Win XP x32.  I read the suggestion posted to another thread that one can downgrade to Win 7 x32, but I am hoping for a X64 solution.  I have already installed the "6iio10ww" Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver for Windows 7 (64-bit).  The problem seems to be that Viking has not released a x64 driver for this product.  It seems Microsoft should have installed the proper driver during the OS install since this device was around before the Win 7 was introduced.
Can anyone suggest a source for the proper driver or an alternative CF card cardbus adapter known to work with Win 7 x64 OS?

    Thanks!
Apologies for now double-posting: new thread

  • Memory leak in Skype 7.4.0.102 on Win 7 x64

Ever since upgrading to the latest version of Skype on my Win 7 x64 box, I've had nothing but issues with Skype having a huge memory leak.  It'll start out running fine when I boot up, hovering around 141K of memory usage (even though I think that's still higher than it should be), but after leaving it open for a while, it will just continue to creep up.  Yesterday I had to kill the Skype.exe*32 process from Task Manager because it was up to 1.2 GB of memory usage.
Previously it had not gotten that high, but I have seen it as high as almost half a gig.  I've tried all the usual stuff, removing and reinstalling, making sure I'm running the latest version, etc.  The memory leak is still there.  Has anyone experienced this issue with 7.4.0.102?  If so, has anyone found any resolution?

  • PSE 9 only works with old AIR version on Win 7 x64. Adobe please help.

I'm hoping that Adobe can jump in and help here as there are some real versioning issues with the components that PSE 9 uses.  I've made a number of posts in the Adobe AIR forum (while I was figuring this out) and have exchanged with Adobe resources regarding my problems with Adobe AIR on Win 7 x64. They are still looking into it.
    PSE 9.0 comes with
         Adobe AIR 1.5.3.9130,
Adobe Community Help 3.2.1.650 (an AIR app), and
Adobe Photoshop.com Inspiration Browser 3.07 (an AIR app)
That  Adobe AIR 1.5.3.9130 is an old version of AIR.  Since then there have been production releases 2.0.2, 2.0.3, and the latest 2.0.4.  If you upgrade to ANY of those Adobe AIR 2.x versions on your Win 7 x64 system, ALL your Adobe AIR apps will stop working.
Adobe Community Help 3.2.1.650 is an out-of-date version and it continually nags you to update to the newer version.  If you do that, the install will first upgrade Adobe AIR to 2.0.4 and then upgrade Help.  Help will no longer work and all Adobe AIR apps will not work.
I have installed and uninstalled PSE 9 about 25 times, I have installed and ununinstalled different versions of AIR over 50 times, etc. etc. to come to these conclusions.  I have tested Adobe AIR 2.0.2, 2.0.3 and 2.0.4 and NONE of them work on Win 7 x64.
I'd really like someone from the Adobe PSE team to look into this.  I don't have time to spend hours on the phone with support.  I have described the problem and can offer more details as necessary.
    Thanks . . . . Brian

    Ankush,
Thank for your two responses.  I have also received some more emails from Chris Campbell around AIR in particular so I'll try to work with him first.
Thanks you for confirming that you do not see any errors after installing the updates.  Also that Adobe Help and Inspiration Browser both work after updating AIR to 2.0.4.
I will answer your questions for now though:
    1. You asked:
    Have you tried this:
Uninstall PSE 9, PRE 9 and any other CS5 Adobe application.
    Uninstall Adobe AIR.
Install PSE 9 and run the updates of Adobe AIR and now use the applications?
If it still gives error, uninstall Adobe AIR and then install the 2.0.4 version directly which is available on Adobe.com.
    What happends now?
Yes, I have done all of these combinations a few times without success.
    2. The directories for Adobe Help and PIB look fine.  They are
        C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Help
        C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\PhotoshopdotcomInspirationBrowser
As I said, Chris Campbell has asked me for info and to run some tests.  I'll let you know how it works out.
    Thanks . . . . Brian

  • Win 7 x64 Itunes and Quicktime Running in Task Manager nothing seen! Help

Ok I'm running out of ideas- I' I have uninstalled multiple time various version of itunes. It upgraded to 10 automatically then a few days ago it wouldn't run. Looking in task manager itunes and intones helper are running. Thought a simple wipe and reinstall would solve it alas no. Been trying all week various reinstalls of different versions, all the same thing occurs, It appears to be a system wide fault. Disabled Bonjour enabled- no difference. Disabled all windows services aside form the apple ones - no difference. Started in safe mode- itunes refused to start. Gave up and reinstalled 7 and it worked until a reboot (and also it itunes store and ipod drivers for Win 7 x64 are not there) where the same probelm occured. Installed airport seeing if it would update the relevant dodgy files in Bonjour.
Getting sick of finding why this is happening and I can't;t find where this bug is, and I've spent far too long trailing through the web trying to solve this and not one single one has worked so far!
    Please Help!!

Sorry, Itunes+Quicktime the intaller neither of them will open (they appear to be running in task manager however). Downlaoding the sperate intaller for Quicktime, the installer on its own, then quicktime runs and opens.

  • Macbook Pro Win 7 x64

Hi, I have recently bought a MacBook Pro 2009 from a mate who sold it as faulty. The Apple store said it was a faulty Logic Board but couldn't say for certain what the problem was. Having experience with PCs I tried putting an old HDD in to test if it
would work and it did. So I bought an SSD and installed Win 7 via Bootcamp.
Last night I upgraded OSX to 10.9.4 Mavericks which installed okay, then I installed the upgrade to 10.9.5 and left it running when I went to work. When I got home I found the Mac had frozen at the login screen with a spinning multi-coloured wheel in the
top left corner but the machine was unresponsive so I had to hold the power button down for 4 seconds to turn it off. After I restarted the update installed (again) successfully.

could somebody point me in the right direction as to how to resolve these issues? My Machine has been upgraded to 8gb ddr3 1333mhz and a 240gb Kingston SSD 6Gbps. I think this version of the Mac only supports 1.5Gbps sata bus, I have downloaded a driver

could somebody point me in the right direction as to how to resolve these issues? My Machine has been upgraded to 8gb ddr3 1333mhz and a 240gb Kingston SSD 6Gbps. I think this version of the Mac only supports 1.5Gbps sata bus, I have downloaded a driver from apple to upgrade the EFI to install faster storage to the 3.0Gbps but they do not support it so I am unsure if installing it will be a good idea.
    Thanks for reading.

  • Printing from Adobe Reader X with HP UPD PCL6 ver 61.107.4.8232 and Win 7 x64

    Hello,
I have a Windows 2003 32-bit server with HP UPD PCL6 driver, version 61.107.4.8232 installed for several HP P4014dn printers.  I'm running into an issue printing from Adobe X on Win 7 x64 machines.  There is a delay of about 5-10 minutes, per page, before the job is spooled and printed.
Any thoughts on why this only affects Win 7 x64 machines?  Printing works without any issues on Win XP and Win 7 32-bit machines.
    Thanks in advance.

This is true when printing a .pdf file opened thru IE and a saved .pdf file.

  • Acrobat 9.2 & Win 7 x64 Very Slow Printing to Xerox network Printer

I have Win 7 Ultimate x64 and Acrobat 9.2, opening the print dialogue box and trying to print is either exceptionally slow or does not work at all.  I have looked through the forums but cannot find any help, does anybody have any ideas.
    Lenovo T61p
    Xerox 8650MFP
    Win 7 x64 Ultimate

    I feel your pain:
    Windows 7 64-bit
    Xerox 8560MFP - network connected
Acrobat 8 Pro or Acrobat 9 Extended
Problem:  When printing portrait, one blank page is form fed, then on second page prints portrait but in landscape mode, and only on 1/2 page on right side (as if in book mode).
Any other application prints fine,  including Word, Excel, Explorer.  Multiple Xerox drivers have been tried.
Have tried many posted solutions - including changing advanced printer options,  selecting different adobe *.inf installations.
Suffering for over 1 1/2 months.
    Adobe - please resolve!

  • P55M-GD45: VCore cannot be decreased

Having this strange issue: vcore can only be increased.
Also strangely when increasing, the next value after "auto" is not the vcore but just the increment amount itself, eg. 0,006 -> 0,012 ...
So for example under default settings (FSB 133), CPU Specifications says vcore is 1.224V. Then moving down to vcore setting and looking to the right, there is a list with actual, min and max vcore and it says 0.000, 0.000 and the normal value for max respectively. And as mentioned, no way to lower the vcore value.
At higher FSB, vcore is raised automatically and again no chance to lower it by myself.
All other voltages are adjustable and shown (on the right side) correctly.
Any suggestions!? - driving me crazy!
    Thank you!
    P55M-GD45 Bios 1.4

My i7 rig is with a socket 1156 board, an Asus P7P55D mobo, and an 860 CPU. I know the Corsair DDR3 memory @ its stock 1.65v simply doesn't run at 1600mhz like it says on its box - 1333mhz seems to be its stability wall.
I upgraded my Q6600 and Asus P5B deluxe rig because so many people said to never consider overclocking on an editing rig. Was that over-cautious advice?

  • Premiere Pro CS4 crashes on startup after installation (Win XP x64)

    Hello,
I've had no such luck getting PP working on Win XP x64, I've installed everything else and checked to make sure its working correctly from the master collection, but PP is giving me a hard time.  After reading much of the other discussion on this problem, I have yet to find a solution that works for me, things I've tried thus far:
    - Re-installing
    - Re-installed fonts etc.
    - Switched user accounts
    - Removed Quicktime
None of these have worked, Adobe's error reporting tool is garbage I cant even read the crash report data, so I'm stuck......anyone have any good ideas throw them up here, otherwise its time to get angry with tech support....

Sorry to bump a dead thread, but I fixed OP's problem on my computer after doing pretty much all he had done. I signed up for anyone else that might be looking for a solution to this problem.
Browse to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS4"
Find "Adobe Premiere Pro.exe" and right click it and click on "Properties".
Go to the "Compatability" tab and check "Run this program in compatability mode for:" and select "Windows XP" in the drop down list. If you arent on an administrative acount, you may have to switch to it and select "Allow non-admins to run this prog". I tried this after reinstalling, changing the path, removing any registry entry I could find with "premiere" in it, and even trying to use a pirated version. Before you go pointing fingers about that, I get the entire adobe production and design suite for free thanks to my school, IUPUI (http://uitsnews.iu.edu/2008/12/10/new-agreement-makes-adobe-software-available-on-iuware/)  and I needed it for an assignment. Protip, adobe: The pirated version actually launched correctly once, but after a system restart, crashed on start up like before. Just something to think about.
Heres a launch shot + system specs for a refrence:

  • OCing won't work - P55M-GD45

Hey, got my new P55M-GD45. Has a bunch of OCing features and has gotten many good reviews. Most every review I have read about it has mentioned that the board overclocked extremely easily and was very stable.
All I want is a very slight to modest OC. The first thing I want to do is at least get my DDR3 1600 to run @ 1600 speed. I know JDEC specs DDR3 up to 1333 and that you have to manually set it for most motherboards. So I try to do it the simple way and try setting the XMP profile. It shows the adjusted speed at 1600 and then I reboot. Doesn't work, have to clear CMOS to get anywhere again.
I have read of people using the EXACT same RAM as me and the EXACT same motherboard and they were able to set the XMP to "enable" and it automatically ran their RAM @ 1600 speed. The stock voltage is 1.5v and it's rated to run 1600 at 1.5v. Everything I read, people are running these stable at 1.5v at the rated 1600 speed.
I have tried messing with the Base Clock. I upped it to 160 (from 133) to have them run @ 1600 (I lowered the CPU multiplier so the CPU would still run at the stock speed of 2.9GHz). Doesn't work. Have to clear CMOS to get back to working condition.
I have disabled "Spread Spectrum" and the "Overdrive Protection" options in the BIOS because it says to in the manual if you plan on OCing. I have also done it with them on.
I don't get why this motherboard won't hold VERY slight and simple overclocks. Overclocks that aren't even really overclocks, just bringing up some RAM to run at the speed it is built to run at, and has run at for many other people on this board.
I am using BIOS v1.5 and Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I have read in a few places that BIOS v1.5 doesn't work well with OCing. But when I try to run BIOS v1.4, it won't boot with both sticks of RAM. It will boot with each stick separately so I know it's not the sticks (They both also passed hours of memtest). Would really like to use 1.4 and see if that let's me OC. Would be even better to get XMP to work with 1.5 though.
Thanks in advance if anyone has any tips. My build is in my signature.

I doubt that.  What is the the model number of your memory?
    1. The memory controller is inside the processor, not part of the board and according to Intel Specifications, it support up to DDR3-1333 memory modules only.
    2.  The Chips used on your modules are built according to JEDEC Specifications but the ratings G.Skill advertises are most probably not.
So basically you are overclocking both the memory controller/bus and the memory chips.  And that causes problems in many cases.
Here is a link to my memory on Newegg --> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277
Going through the reviews, people mention the P55M-GD45 a few times and mention how easy it was to just set the XMP profile to enable for it to work as advertised. Now most of those people have an i5, I'm pretty sure I have seen this work in an i3 system though too. I have even seen people run this RAM at 1700+ with very minor volt increases. But for my purposes, 1.5v @ 1600 is very very possible with these and this board.
Of course, anything over 1333 is technically an overclock. But it's an extremely common and safe one that any board that supports minor OCing should accept with ease.

Anyway, can you post a screenshot of the CPU-Z "SPD" view and the "Memory" view?
The reason my RAM is running @ 642.5 MHz is because I tried OCing the Base Clock one after disabling "C-State" in the BIOS, since I read that helps with OCing somewhere, especially since the memory controller is on the CPU itself. Here's a pic of that...
It shows my Base Clock at 160, and that should have put my RAM to 1600 but it didn't. It's running my CPU OC'd to 3.2 from 2.9 though and every thing is smooth so far. Going to try XMP with the C-State turned off now.
