P6 EPPM configuration wizard won't connect to database server

I have installed P6 8.3 and Weblogic on one server (application server). On another server SQL is installed. When i run the P6 EPPM Configuration Wizard i get as far as the step 'Database Type & Connection' where i can fill in the details of the server and database to connect to. But then when i press 'next' nothing happens. I don't get any error, but the wizard is not going to the next step. I've tried it with all the options 'Create a new database', 'Upgrade an existing database' or simply 'Connect to an existing database'.
I've read in the documentation that to run the P6 Eppm wizard you need to be on an oracle or sql server, but how can i do that when the necessary files are on another server? As far as i was told it's possible to use two separate servers?
I hope someone can help.

Hi,
JRE 1.8.0_40 is not supported. Please check the tested configurations document for your version, client and browser sheet, uninstall JRE 8 U 40, install a supported version, update the JAVA_HOME, run P6 and try again.
Let me know the results.
Regards,
Pablo

  • Won't connect to afp server

We have a 2 x 2 GHz G5 which was recently upgraded to X.4.5 and connected to a Gigabit switch. Everything initially worked fine. The other day the computer crashed while compressing files in Cleaner, and since then it won't connect to our server anymore, and Cleaner won't startup either. Internet acces still works. Our two other macs, with similar configurations, still have acces to the server.
When I try to connect to our server a window appears saying connecting to afp://... then a second window appears which says searching for "name of server" but they just stall there.
When I tried to launch Cleaner, the same second window appears saying searching for server, but Cleaner won't launch. I trashed Cleaner's prefs and it now launchs.
I tried trashing the network prefs, to no avail.
    any ideas ?
    Cheers,
    Damien

    UPDATE
Although the other macs could connect via AFP, this particular G5 couldn't until the password scheme for AFP was set to "Apple Clear Text" on the Windows Small Business 2003 Server.
    - On the server Go "Start'
    - Right Click "My Computer"
    - Choose "Manage" - This will open the Computer Management Window
    - Right click "Shared Folders"
    - Choose "Configure File Server For Macintosh"
    - Under "Enable Authentication" choose "Apple Clear Text" from the menu
    - Click "Apply", then "OK"
If this isn't done, some OSX Macs may receive a -35 error when trying to connect to the server - I still don't know why the other macs we're fine as all Macs were running OS 10.4.6

What is the OS version of the PC you are running  and is it physical machine or virtual machine that is running the HRC client ..
OS Version Windows 7 Home Premium  64 bit and it’s a physical machine.
. The Max DB Connections for Report Client Sessions is set to 5 for each servers (There are two servers). The no of HR Sessions is set to 10.
I wanted to know if there is a way to find the HRC sessions active now and terminate the one or more or all of that sessions from the server end ?

We have had this "PRX5" problem with Exchange 2013 since the RTM version.  We recently applied CU3, and it did not correct the problem.  We have seen this problem on every Exchange 2013 we manage.  They are all installations where all roles
are installed on the same Windows server, and in our case, they are all Windows virtual machines using Windows 2012 Hyper-V.
We have tried all the "this fixed it for me" solutions regarding DNS, network cards, host file entries and so forth.  None of those "solutions" made any difference whatsoever.  The occurrence of the temporary error PRX5 seems totally random.
About 2 out of 20 incoming mail test by Microsoft Connectivity Analyzer fail with this PRX5 error.
Most people don't ever notice the issue because remote mail servers retry the connection later.  However, telephone voice mail systems that forward voice message files to email, or other such applications such as your scanner, often don't retry and
simply fail.  Our phone system actually disables all further attempts to send voice mail to a particular user if the PRX5 error is returned when the email is sent by the phone system.
Is Microsoft totally oblivious to this problem?
PRX5 is a serious issue that needs an Exchange team resolution, or at least an acknowledgement that the problem actually does exist and has negative consequences for proper mail flow.

  • MDM 71 - mdm console and clix - unable to connect to database server

    Hi,
environment, MDM 7.1, AIX 6, Oracle 10.2.0.4 (installed as part of a standalone java AS)
i've an issue. I have installed MDM 71 via sapinst, before that I installed a standalone java application server. During the installation, i gave the 'oracle client', 'oracle home' and 'oracle sqlplus utility' to be those of the oracle database installed for the java AS.
After sapinst completed I tested my connection to the database via
    tnsping <SID> = OK
    sqlplus system/passwd@<SID> = OK
When i start up the mdm console (7.1.02.90) i can mount the MDM server, BUT when I try to configure the database settings i get
error  'unable to connect to database server'
I get the same error when i use clix dblist
Error: 0x84020004, Unable to connect with Database Server
    Has anybody got any ideas.

To see why the MDM is not able to connect to database, do the following:
    % cd /usr/sap/<SID>/MDSxx/log
    % ls -ltr
You will find last updated log file with name like MDS_LogXXUX101224X164953.csv
    % tail -100 MDS_LogXXUX101224X164953.csv
You will see the reason for not being able to connect. If the reason is:
    ",MDSAdminServerXGetAvailableReps,Oracle_DBConnection.cpp,205,,,,server_user,server_global,,,
2011-09-23T06:10:48.933,6       ,24,"Service 'SID', Schema 'system', ERROR CODE=12154 ||| ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified
    OCI Attach, try again ...
Then edit the /oracle/SID/112_64/network/admin/tnsnames.ora with entry like following:
    SID.WORLD =
      (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS_LIST =
          (ADDRESS =
            (COMMUNITY = SAP.WORLD)
            (PROTOCOL = TCP)
            (HOST = hostname)
            (PORT = PORT_NO)
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SID = SID)
          (GLOBAL_NAME = SID.WORLD)
    then issue:
    tnsping SID
    If result is like
    Attempting to contact (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (COMMUNITY = SAP.WORLD) (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = hostname) (PORT = PORT_NO))) (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = SID) (GLOBAL_NAME = SID.WORLD)))
    OK (0 msec)

  • What's wrong with this MySQL connection? "Could not create connection to database server"

I'm able to connect to other MySQL databases but this one particular remote MySQL connection isn't working and I cannot figure it out.  It probably has something to do with the remote server, not CF, but I thought I'd post it here if anyone had an idea.  The MySQL account has full priviledges.
Here is the message when I try to validate the data source:
Connection verification failed for data source: test
com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLNonTransientConnectionException:  Could not create connection to database server. Attempted reconnect 3  times. Giving up.
The root cause was that:  com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLNonTransientConnectionException:  Could not create connection to database server. Attempted reconnect 3  times. Giving up.

This happened on two servers.  One one, the cause was that skip-networking was turned on.  In the other situation, it appears that the database name was case sensitive, so TEST was not the same as test.  Even though I edited the data source in the CF administrator, it still didn't work (very misleading).  When a coworker entered a new data source with the same information (uppercase database name this time from the start), it worked.
Has anyone else seen this problem with the case sensitive database names?  And with the data source in CF not updating the case correctly?  Seems like a bug in CF.

  • OIM 11g Server Configuration Wizard Error - Cannot Connect to Oracle DB

I appreciate any and all suggestions or thoughts on how to best continue troubleshooting this error that I am describing below.
I am attempting to install Oracle Identity and Access Management Suite 11g on a Windows 7 machine…in following the installation guides I have successfully installed the following Oracle Components
    - Oracle Database 11.2.0.1.0
    - Created Schemas using RCU 11.1.1.3.3
    - Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.3.0
    - Oracle SOA 11.1.1.2.0
    - Oracle SOA 11.1.1.3.0 (Patch Set)
    - Oracle IAM SUITE 11.1.1.3.0
Following the above installations, I created a new WebLogic Domain and as the next step am running the OIM Configuration Wizard to configure the OIM Server, however I am unable to setup a connection to the Oracle DB via the OIM Configuration Wizard. I am getting an error message when attempting to setup the connection to the Oracle Database using the OIM 11g Server Configuration Wizard:
    ERROR:*
INST:6102 Unable to connect to the database with the given credentials.
*+[DETAILS] Check the values. Make sure the Database is up and running and connect string, user name, and password are correct.+*
INST:6102 Unable to connect to the database with the given credentials.
*+[DETAILS] Check the values. Make sure the Database is up and running and connect string, user name, and password are correct.+*
When installing the Oracle Database 11gR2 I used the following install configuration:
    Oracle base: C:\MyApps\Oracle
    Software location: C:\MyApps\Oracle\DB_HOME\11.2.0\dbhome_1
    Database file location: C:\MyApps\Oracle\DB_HOME\oradata
Database Edition: Personal Edition (3.27 GB)
    Character Set: Unicode (AL32UTF8)
    Global database name: orcl.dev.com
    Administrative Password: Password1
    Confirm Password: Password1
When creating my Schemas using RCU 11.1.1.3.3 I used the following Database Connection Details
    DB TYPE: Oracle Database
    HOST NAME: localhost
    PORT: 1521
    SERVICE NAME: orcl.dev.com
    USERNAME: sys
    PASSWORD: Password1
    ROLE: SYSDBA
I used a Prefix of “DEV” when creating the schemas so Schema Owners DEV_OIM and DEV_MDS where created. Also, I configured to use the same password for all Schemas: “Password1″. So the password for DEV_OIM and DEV_MDS should be the same, “Password1″.
    REPRODUCING THE ERROR
To reproduce the error, when I launch the Oracle Identity Management 11g Configuration Wizard I am first brought to the “Welcome” Screen. I click the [Next>] button.
Next, I am on the “Components to Configure” screen where I select OIM Server and OIM Design Console and click the [Next>] button. (NOTE I have also tested by simply selecting only the OIM Server)
Next, I am on the “Database” screen where I enter the connection information
    Connection String: localhost:1521:orcl.dev.com
(NOTE I have also tested using localhost:1521:orcl)
    OIM Schema User Name: DEV_OIM
    OIM Schema Password: Password1
    MDS Schema User Name: DEV_MDS
    MDS Schema Password: Password1
When I click the [Next>] button after entering the Database Connection details I encounter the following two errors (1 error for each logon DEV_OIM and DEV_MDS)
INST:6102 Unable to connect to the database with the given credentials.
INST:6102 Unable to connect to the database with the given credentials.
    TROUBLESHOOTING
NOTE: I can successfully start the Oracle DB Services and connect via the Enterprise Console, SQL Plus, and JDBCTest Java Client…I just cannot get past this connection error in the OIM Server Configuration Wizard.

Whenever installing oracle databases, i install the software only first. Then i setup the listener. Then i create a database instance using the dbca tool. This way all the information is added to the pre-existing listener configurations rather than trying to create the listener afterwards. Also, during the dbca database creation, i supply a full service name such as orcl.hostname and use the service name in future configurations where it asked. This usually solves any issues of the listener or database not being found correctly.

  • Sql developer won't connect with SQL server database on cluster

    Hello,
I have a microsoft SQL server database on a windows cluster. Name for this cluster is like XXX/YYY
When I try to connect to this database with SQL developer, I get a failure, mentioning:
"Status : Failure -Cannot connect to Miscrosoft SQL Server on XXX/YYY"
As far as I know, I have installed the correct jtds driver (version 1.2.5), since I can connect to sql server databases on single server hosts.
Does anyone know how to connect to databases on windows clusters?

  • Oracle 9.2 OEM Data Gatherer won't connect to database agent

I'm trying to get an older version of Enterprise Manager (9.2.0.1) Data Gatherer to work with one of our 9.2 databases. The agent is running on the server but when I try to connect to the database instance using Capacity Planner from the OEM Console I receive the error "java.net.ConnectionException: Connection Refused".
We have opened port 1808 from the Windows server running the OEM Management Server to the Database server.
What I need to know is : do we have to have port 1808 opened in both directions (oem server to database server & database server to oem server), for the Data Gatherer to work.
    Systems:
    OEM:
    Windows 2003 server
Oracle Enterprise Manager Management Server 9.2.0.1
    Database:

Vendor code 17002 generally means a major network problem like invalid host or port number. Using ssh tunneling complicates the troubleshooting. It may be best to try to replicate the other machine setup as far as possible, including ssh setup, name resolution and sql developer configuration.
These are the normal troubleshooting steps.
Given a SQL Developer connection definition of DBSERVER, 1521, ORCL...
    Can you ping DBSERVER?
Can you telnet to DBSERVER on port 1521 (telnet DBSERVER 1521). If you don't have windows telnet you can use a putty telnet session.
I assume somewhere in your tunnelling setup you have something like locahost:1521 mapping to DBSERVER:1521. In that case you can replace localhost in the troubleshooting steps.

  • My personal hotspot is showing that it is connected to my other device but when I try to connect to Facebook or anything web related it won't connect to the server. What could be the problem?

I currently had my personal hotspot turned back on. I have it connected to another device ( which is my daughters Htc hero.) I have done this before so she could get onto Facebook ect. So my problem is it is showing we are connected but her hero won't connect to anything that requires Internet. I've tried everything but all I get on her phone is error could not connect to server. Any help would be very grateful!

My WiFi hotspot only works right after rebooting my iPhone 4S. Upon attempting to reconnect after that initial session, I can only tether using a USB cable... Not good enough Apple!
I took my phone to an Apple Store on the weekend and had it completely reset. That has made the phone faster but it hasn't resolved the hotspot issue.
It seems that the issuei is in the OS itself, so I'm holding out hope for a fix soon... I'm holding off on an upgrade to iPhone 5 until I'm completely satisfied that I won't experience these problems again...

  • Mac won't connect to ftp server for iweb

my mac won't connect  to the ftp server. i have been
trying to publish a site on iweb

Well, do you actually have a web host server to be able to connect to in the first place.  You need this before you can publish a website from iWeb in that way.
Also, you don't publish a site on iWeb.  You use iWeb to design your website and then publish from iWeb to your web host/server.
What version of iWeb are you using?
More info generally would be useful.

  • My Apple TV won't connect to the server...nothing has changed and never had problems before

Help...why can't I suddenly connect to itunes thru my Apple TV to rent movies?  It says I can't connect to server

I started having a similar problem late last year. I have just arrived home from LA and I'm still having issues.
    My setup for reference:
    Comcast 50 down 10 up
    AirPort Extreme 5th gen 802.11n version 7.6.4
Connection as seen from AirPort utility data rate 58Mb/s RSSI -70 dBm in 802.11a/n
Apple TV 3rd gen version 6.0.2
Connected to a 47" 1080p Vizio Smart TV over HDMI.
Another Apple TV I have on 6.0.1 is working fine.
I have no issues on any other wireless client connecting to the AirPort Extreme and previously had no issues with my Apple TV.
What I have tried so far:
    Reconnecting to the network
    A reset of the AppleTV
    A restore of the AppleTV
Each time I try any of the above steps the AppleTV will work for a few hours or maybe a day before it will fail to work again and I will need to take any of the above steps to reconnect. I can't even do the network test after it fails as it says it's unable to connect to the server.
Does anyone have any idea what is wrong? I'm about ready to give up on the AppleTV and buy a chrome cast or Roku as I use streaming almost exclusively for content consumption instead of our horrible Dish network TV which I only use for sports I can't stream on the AppleTV.

Probably nothign to do with your iMac or OS X, have you attempted resetting your router? Also you haven't stated what messages you are getting or any other information. If this is at your work then I'd suggest contacting your IT support person, the connection to your network may be on their end.

  • Won't connect: "The proxy server is refusing connections." Why? How do I fix it?

I am not a computer person--the machine is a super typewrrriter and research aid; like an auto, it should just run when you buy it. But. I got a virus; tried my amatuer best to correct or fix things. The computer runs now, but will only access Internet Explorer, and Firefox is my browser of choice. Now when I click on Firefox the opening screen starts, then carries the message: "The Proxy Server is refusing connections."

In Firefox 3.6.4 and later the default connection settings have been changed to "Use the system proxy settings".<br />
See "Firefox connection settings" in [[Server not found]]
You can find the connection settings in Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection<br />
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select No Proxy
