P67A-C45 (B3) CPU and Memmory Compatibility Question

(sorry to my english)
Hi all i hawe 2  queestions i have CPU G630 and memorry (RAM) work to 1333MHZ if i activated in bios XMP to work on 1600 i have some problems stop working on windows, My friends tell g630 dont suport 1600ram
i dont have more money but i wont to give my cpu to friend and buy G860 becose my friend have it and i see he work with 1600MHZ but he have Z77 MB not as mine (,
1 will work my  RAM on 1600MHz  if i put G860 CPU to my MB?
2 i see to Global site have update  bios 22nm to this mb is really posible this ? if i wont a 22nm cpu need to upgrade or bios in not for my MB ? becose on start this mb is for 32 nm?
MSI P67A-C45(B3)
Intel G630 2x2,7
Kingston Blue 2x4gb ram 1600MHZ
.....

if my P67A-C45(B3) work with Intel Core i3 2130 tray or CPU Intel Pentium G860 on Ram X.M.P. 1600MHZ i will buy some this but not wont to risk
if upgrade  i sell  mb+cpu and buy next
if Z77A-G43 or G45 i buy Intel® Core™ i3 3240 i dont like SLI or owerclocking and mabby is G43 low cost
if Z87-G43 i buy Intel Core i5-4570 Haswell but is to hight costs mb and cpu and have some problems with money.
i ask  you all becose to my country Moldova we dont have more money on job to buy extrime somfing and i wont last tehnologis to me ))) i like Z87-G43 is good but not have some low cost cpu (
I'm afraid that MSI will go strictly by 1150 socket, and will only continue to develop them, and forget about 1155

  • CS5: CUDA, CPU and other hardware questions

CS5 can gain much speed with CUDA technology by Nvidia; I assume everybody who researched a bit knows this.
However, I like very exact information to get the best decision for a new investment.
I need to get two identical new CS5 systems, that are much faster and not as buggy as my last CS4 system.
I have about 30.000 euro for 2 machines.
Our studio demands SDI connections, so I got a Matrox Axio.
Currently my system has lots of problems with Premiere and After Effects:
    - Field swaps
    - Inconsistent effect parameters
    - Very slow rendering
    - Very slow app startups
    - Multi task slowdowns
    - Crashes of apps
    - Very slow interface operations
    1. Does CS5 only use the CUDA of supported CUDA Cards?
    2. Does SLI or multi graphic card tech, help CS5 speed at all?
    3. Is it useful to get a Tesla next to a Quadro 5800 or is it not seen by CS5?
    4. What Intel processor is best suited for After Effects rendering: iX or Xeon architecture?
    5. Does Adobe really use only 3 Gb per core, meaning you should not buy more than 3Gb per CPU core? Or is it per THREAD and should I get more RAM?
    6. Speed or number: Is it better to focus on very high total core speed, or to optimal RAM distribution by getting as many cores as possible?
    7. Can a Matrox MXO2 Rack unit, cooperate with the Nvidia CUDA power or could both accelerations/technologies hinder eachother?
    8. Is it best to get Nvidia SDI connectivity or is there a save alternative?
    9. Can iX CPU's be dual or is that a Xeon option only?
    10. What is the fastest 6 core Xeon that can be dual?
    11. Does CS5 need a good scratch disk: is it wise to get a SSD just for scratch or is it overkill?
    12. Some say the Nvidia 5800 is not the fastest card around; it has 240 cuda cores and some gtx cards have far more than that. What is the story?
I probably forgot about 324 other questions, but for now these will do.
If any of you can give objective and confirmed information, please do!

"I have about 30.000 euro for 2 machines."  That's about  $38,772.00 USD!!  Oh what I could build with that money!  I.M.O, I would seriously look for a way around using Matrox video products.  We began using the Matrox RT.X100 back in 2003 with Premiere 6.5.  On a good day, we could edit all day with only one crash.  The RT.X100 introduced serious problems to our workflow like corrupted project files and timelines that would export finished "show master" videos that contained errors like areas that freeze frame for 10 seconds.
Here is a link in the Adobe Hardware Forum to the two systems I recently built for the company I work for.  Both systems cost roughly the equivalent of  2,725 EUR. That's not each, but for both systems:
    Our Two Rock-Solid Editing Systems
The X-58 motherboards will accept the new 6 core intel i7 980x processors, you could go with 4GB sticks of RAM for a total per system of 24 and pop in a couple of Nvidia 285 GTX's for MPE acceleration.  You should go with Harm's recommendation for Raid setup.  For input and output connections, I'm thinking that someone makes a non-invasive solution.  Take a look at products like the DeckLink HD Extreme 3D.  I really don't know if this product is compatible with CS5 and the Mercury Playback Engine.  I would do a little research on that.

  • Strange problems and processer compatibility questions

i have the K7N2 DELTA - ILSR and i have had some problems, ive replaced the borad twice be cause it just died for no apperant reason. One day i was usng it and my webcam was in the second slot on the top of my mainboard and sumthing happend and i couldnt get a picture thru my cam so i switched ports, worked fine no biggie. well i just got an mp3 player, its a nextech, i plug it in my pc and it lagged alto and when it did show up in my computer it would regester it as not there even tho it shows it, i know the mp3 player is fine cause it works fine on my laptop. is my board fuzzeled again or am i just having compatability issues? If so i will exchange it for a gigabyte board i thing cause there reliable and ive had exprence using them.
My other question is i have the amd athlon 2500+xp and i was wondering of the 3200 would work fine on tm K7N2 DELTA - ILSR with the nforce 2 chipset
other than thoes problems the board is great and plays all my games very smoothly.
i also have another question is my Geforce fx 5600 worth keeping or should i upgrade to the 9800 pro or wait for the x 800xt to come down in price?
    thx.

a delta can take up to xp3200
but you would be better of with an xp2500 and overclock it instead.
k7n2 has noise sensitive usb ports.
do you have an usb2 hub you can connect to the motherboard and then connect the usb devices to that one and try ?
seen many cases where this worked.
did you read the moan guide ?
its very hard to do something without a complete picture of what you got.
i have seen people having trouble with usb devices for many different reasons.
how strong is the psu ?
i want the amps not the watt as they can show VERY wrong.
is written on a label on the psu. 3.3v 5v and 12v.
have you tried http://www.memtest86.com to check memory ?
    k7n2 is memory sensitive.
is usb2 enabled in bios or only 1.1 ?
k7n2 is a very sensitive motherboard but when you get it to work it works like a dream.
mine has been up and running 24/7 since i bought it last year and most crashes i have is when i try to run 10 year old dos games which xp dont like.

    Cheers all. Keith.

Check what card you have and then go to the manufacturer's website and check there if your graphics card is OpenGl enabled.
If it is, download the corresponding driver from the manufacturer's website and install it on your system.
Some downloads are compresses (zipped), so you have to unzip and then install.

  • K8N Diamond plus HSF and memory compatability question

I am considering this board since I need a good onboard sound chip to utilize my front breakout box.    At this time I have an opteron 180, a Zalman 7700 and 2 gb kit of Corsair XMS TWINX2048-3500LLPRO on the way from ZZF.  I had planned on using this on an Asus A8N SLI deluxe but if the hardware is compatible I would rather have the SB onboard than the Realtek on the Asus.
Does anyone know if the Zalman will fit on this board and clear the northbridge heatsink and fan?  I had seen in another post the the MSI boards might not care for Corsair to well,  any validation on this?
    Thanks!

    Tricker61,
As you can see by my signature I am using the Diamond Plus with a full two pair of TWINX2048-3500LLPRO’s.
It was not plug them in a go, but it just requires setting the memory up manually, which is really set forward.
The only problem is that the current BIOS do not the memory to SPD values and here is a list of setting you will have to set manually.
    (1)   FSB/Memory Ratio is set by default to 1:2, which needs to be changed to 1:1.
    (2)   Memory Module Voltage Corsair spec is 2.7 – 2.9, default BIOS setting is 6.5V.  I am running mine at 2,75V.
    (3)   Corsair spec timing 2,3,2,6, BIOS Default is 2,3,2,5 so you need to set that.
As far as memory set for your Corsair memory you have they are working fine and system is stable.
You wanted 2.6 GHz; I am currently run FSB of 225 MHZ and with default multiplier of x12, which is one BIOS defaults that is correct.  My system running solid at 2.7 GHz and the memory is running DDR450, which better the Corsair spec.
Therefore, with the memory modules you should get the performance you said you wanted.  I feel with all the memory setting corrected I could running it up more, first 225 MHz is the speed I could not make with default BIOS setting and I am not and Over-clocker like you, if want a good solid fast system.
If you have not purchased a case yet, make it a big one with lots of fans.  I am using the Cooler Master CM Stacker 810 and have just moded the case to add two extra right side 120mm input fans in place of the stock 80mm fan and I am just starting to get the system temperatures under control.  With to two new fans that makes 4 120mm input fans and 120mm, 85mm and the power supplies 135mm fan for exhaust.  I have been using 120mm fan with 35 to 40 CFM each, to try and keep the noise down, but it looks like an a few more CFM to input fans and put up with the added.  But it is a nice system now, you the noise of the air flow , but no actual fan sounds, except for the Graphics Card when is cycles it fan to high speed, which much less with two add right side 120mm fans.
Hope this information helps you selecting components for your new system.
    Roger
When submitting a problem, include a complete list of your system components; include part numbers, all Power Supply Voltages, and their output ratings.  It is almost impossible to estimate what your problem is without knowing something about it.

  • MSI P67A-C45 (B3) high temp. issue

Hello ,this is my first post here.
Just upgraded from giga h61 to MSI P67A C45 (B3).Hwmonitor and aida64 shows temp1 as high as 110C while gaming,(I think other temps are fine:temp0 cpu:55C max. and temp2 system 40C max.)I never had this issue before with my old mobo, any ideas-solutions greatly welcomed.
    My system:
    i5 2500k
    MSI P67A C45 (B3) bios 1.9
    corsair 2*2gb 1333

I don't know what "temp1" stands for though, might be vrm temp.or something else
To the best of my knowledge, it is the PCH (SB) temperature reading if using CPUID's H/W Monitor. Please review this thread; https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=148704.0

  • P67A-C45 B3 with 2133Mhz

    Hello my friends,
I want to buy the P67A-C45 B3 Mainboards and use with 2133Mhz memory on it, on the specification it tells me:
Supports four unbuffered DIMM of 1.5 Volt DDR3 1066/1333/1600*/2133*(OC) DRAM, 32GB Max
What that * on the side? can't find anything on the manual about it. Can you guys help me?

The star (*) means that it is an overclocked condition and not guaranteed to work.
All Sandy Bridge processors have an integrated memory controller at default 1333. Any higher memory speed is achieved by overclocking only and there are numerous factors that may prevent achieving that, not least of which is the memory controller itself.
Overclocking memory on Sandy Bridge platforms results in minimal gain in overall performance and can cause more frustrations to get it running than is worth the effort and time.

  • MSI P67A-C45 - C-State, Turbo Boost, RAM and UEFI questions

I received my MSI P67A-C45 B3 a few days ago. After having installed the OS and the rest, I tried to enable C-State (no limit) and surprisingly it works (with the B2 it caused a freeze). After some time I noticed a sort of high pitched noise and I knew it was the C-State because I had read it here. So I just disabled it, later I'll tray to see if the other C-States (C3, C6, etc.) work without any noise. I'll also try different combinations of the phase mode, currently I'm using Intel SVID because it has a slightly lower idle voltage.
    1) First thing, why do I hear a noise only when C-State is enabled? I'm curious.
    2) I've also read that disabling the C-State affects how Turbo Boost works, is it true? If yes, what is the difference? Honestly I don't see any relation, one is a power saving feature and the other gives temporary extra performance when needed.
    3) About the B3, I noticed that my RAM (G.Skill Ripjaws 1333MHz) haven't the correct timings, they are one value higher (more loose, for example 10 instead of 9).
This didn't happen with the B2 and UEFI 1.8, all the timings were exactly those in the JEDEC #4 profile. I see that in version 1.9 and 1.A they've improved memory compatibility, perhaps it's related?
Anyway since it doesn't matter to me I just left them on auto.
    4) I'm not planning to update my UEFI (B3 came with v1.9) for a few months since it works fine (except that small RAM problem) and I don't overclock.
I noticed that the latest version is 1.A, so it's normal to use 1.A after 1.9? I've never seen it before.

This might shed some light on question #1. Reply #17; https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=147219.0
    Thanks!
Does someone know anything about question #2?
    @krkrkr
I'm currently using APS mode with C-State enabled and the noise isn't there. The strange thing is that the Vcore is the same both with C-State enabled or disabled. Anyway I think I'll continue using APS mode with C-State enabled, thanks.
Now I have a problem, I'm trying to update the UEFI but it doesn't work. I downloaded UEFI v1.A for the B3, then I used method I of the MSI HQ Tool but during the UEFI update it blocks at "Preparing to take a new BIOS backup". It just stays like that all the time...
    How can I resolve?
Now I still have v1.9 and if I go in the CPU features I get "Error invalid input method" (or something similar, I can't remember properly). Before trying to update it didn't happen.

  • P67A-C45 SUPPORT Ivy Bridge CPU

P67A-C45 B3 SUPPORT Ivy Bridge CPU

I tried to flash the 5.1 bios via the DOS method but it killed the board. It looked as if it had gone well. It rebooted and flashed the secondary flash and all. But when it came to the final reboot the board was totally dead. The CPU and PSU fans just moved a bit and nothing happened. I tried resetting CMOS by holding the switch to empty the caps, removing battery for 10 minutes and pushing the CMOS button at the back. I even shorted the reset jumper on the board.
I tried the control + home start with both amiboot.rom on USB stick and then burnt to a cd.
I pulled out the board and stripped it trying to see if I could get a beep or blink from the diodes while putting CPU and memory back on. Nothing.
I then bought a new Z77A-S01 IvyBridge board and now I´m happy again.
There´s a bit more in this thread https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=159446.0
I probably did something wrong OR the board was faulty but I just didn´t feel like fighting with it anymore. It’s a bit over a year since I got it and perhaps I could have gotten the shop to fix it but by now I am so tired of the problems (boot errors) with this board that it feels like a relief to put it in the garbage.

  • MSI P67A-C45 Cpu temperature 127°c

Hi guys, i've bought new P67A-C45 with Intel i7 2600 box.
My machine measuring 127°C of cpu temperature during Intel burn test 2.5 at maximum:
    Uploaded with ImageShack.us
But the system is stable and never blocked...Does mainboard have temperature's alert in bios' option? I'm not overclocking nothing and i've not activated oc genie 2... Any suggestion?

Realistically if you are stress testing and the gap between the core temps and the CPU temp is 50C + as in your case, then I would suspect a defective sensor for the CPU. Under full load with the standard Intel fan it is quite possible that the temps may end up in the mid 70s for the cores. But I think Mark is correct re the seating of the heatsink.  DDR memory speed of 800 means its running at 1600, which would be correct if you have XMP enabled. With XMP disabled, it should probably be 667 or 533, depending what the SPD profile of the mem modules and if your mem modules are supported by your BIOS and correctly auto set.
The 127 reading as far as I know is the absolute max of the sensor. The sensor seems to be working as your minimum shows 105, so it may be the Fintek chip or whatever chip this board uses that may not apply the correct calibration. If your cores were also approaching the 100 mark then your MB BIOS would be throttling the CPU.
Seeing that your core temps are not "running away" my opinion remains a defective sensor. A BIOS update may solve this though. You will need to check.

  • P67A-C45 hangs with Core i5-2300 and Win7 sees only 8 Gb RAM (of 16 total)

Hi guys, I have a problem.
    My config is:
    OS: Windows 7 Pro х64
    MoBo: Socket1155 MSI "P67A-C45"
    CPU: Intel "Core i5-2300"
    Ram 4 dimms * 4Gb DDR3 SDRAM Kingston "ValueRAM" KVR1333D3N9/4G (PC10600, 1333МГц, CL9)
Video: PCI-E 1024МБ Sapphire "Radeon HD 5670" 11168-05 (Radeon HD 5670, DDR5, DVI, HDMI, DP)
    Problem #1:
Windows shows only 8 Gb RAM in system properties. CPU-Z shows all 16 GB.
    Problem #2:
Computer hangs several times per day (no blue screen, everithing just becomes frozen).
After flashing BIOS to 1,7 both problem disappeared for 2 days, but after todays hang both problems have returned.
No overclocking, Turbo boost disabled, EIST disabled, RAM voltage 1,5V.
Any ideas? Maybe new BIOS version?..

I have Carsair 650W PSU, it works fine (worked in my previous computer).
Also 3 SATA HDD installed (Segate 1 Tb and 2*Seagate 1,5 Tb).
I've raisen DIMM voltage to 1,65 V and system doesn't freeze anymore.
But windows still sees 8 GB memory (of 16 installed).
I think this is BIOS bug....

  • A simple question... re. Intel CPU and Heasink

this is probably really simple, but i need to be sure so i'll ask anyway
    My question is:
Do you remove the thin black sheet of what i pressume is aluminium on the heatsink before installing it onto the CPU?
I applied some Artic Silver on the CPU and left the black aluminium sheet on when installing my Intel Heatsink and CPU.... is this the correct way?
    Cheers

Stock heatsink and fan dont remove, dont use thermal paste
After marketheatsink and fan, apply thermal paste
If you must apply thermal paste remove black strip as best u can and then apply rubbing alcohol to remove last traces then apply thermal paste.
If you ever remove heatsink you will probably need to remove black strip and reapply thermal paste

  • P67A-C45 (B3) and USB 3.0 internal connector

    Hello to all!!
I'm here because I'm not able to find a solution, here is the situation:
    - Internal memory 3,5" card reader USB 2.0
    - Front case USB 2.0 ports.
This motherboard is equipped with one only USB 2.0 connector and one USB 3.0.
    Here the problem:
I must connect OR the front case USB ports OR the card reader, and it is not acceptable
    What I checked:
    - PCI card for USB 2.0 ports with at least an internal one: does not apply due to the internal connector, it's exactly the same as the external ones (checked many manufacters and models, all the same)
    - Looking for a 3.5" card reader USB 3.0 only seems doesn't exist, I can find some model with USB 3.0, eSATA, USB 2.0 all together, and I want only memories slots.
    - Looking for an adapter that convert the USB port to an internal one: no success.
Anyone can help me to find a solution? This is a very stupid problem, and I'm surprise to don't be able to find a stupid solution!!
    Tks in advance

Quote from: Henry on 18-May-11, 03:17:45
Keep in mind that with MSI mb P67A-C45 the number in red is indicative of the feature level, lower # = fewer features, higher number = more features. For P67: 43 = lowest level, 80 = highest level
Tks for the info, very useful!
Now I found and bought a NZXT product (http://www.nzxt.com/new/products/case_accessories/iu01_usb_expansion), installed on any computer with non MSI motherboard it works, on this motherboard not at all.
If I connect an external USB HDD it switch on for one second and then OFF, if I connect a pendrive it is not detected by the OS and its led is steady ON.
So, it is impossible in any way to have more than one USB 2.0 connector managed by this motherboard???

  • Need help ASAP, have a tough question about CPU and BIOS...

Alrighty guys... I'm not super smart when it comes to BIOS and the nitty gritty computer stuff, but I know my way around. Here's the thing...
This is the desktop I have:
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=120&prodSeriesId=...
It's sorta old, but it gets the job done quickly. I had an issue with it some time ago and I thought it was the power supply, so I replaced it. While I was waiting for the power supply to arrive, I took the CPU out, just to be nosey. I accidentally bent a couple of the prongs, so I had to get a new one.
First, I bought a Black Edition AMD quad core, but the 125W was too high for my 95W chip. I had to sell it. I sold that and I just bought a new one:
    http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K10/AMD-Phenom%20X4%209850%20-%20HD9850XAJ4BGH%20(HD9850XAGHBOX).html
I put it in the computer, boot it up and it goes to the HP boot screen and then goes to a black screen stating that the CPU is not compatible and that it's going to shut down. When I reset it and try to press F10 or any of the keys it states that it's going to go to that screen, but then just goes to the black CPU shutdown screen again. There is one thing that the computer will do though. When I press F2 when it's in the black shutdown screen, it will SOMETIMES load the two HDD's that I have. It's just really weird. One time I got it to go to a HP diagnosis page. It showed the CPU and had a big green check next to it. It checked the memory too, and it got a check. Then it just froze and I had to shut it down. I can't seem to get it to that screen again.
My real question is why won't it recognize that my CPU is compatible? Do I need to update my BIOS? Can I do that without a CPU and a running OS? I really don't feel like selling this processor. I know that I should have just gotten the exact same processor model that came out of it.
Any info will be nice! Thanks so much!!

    Here are the specs for your HP Pavilion a6720y Desktop Computer and it's M2N78-LA (Violet) motherboard. According to the specs, your computer supports the following CPUs;
    Socket type: AM2/AM2+
    TDP: 95 watts
    AMD Athlon X2 (Bt)
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 up to 6000+ (W)
AMD Phenom Triple-Core up to 8xxx (AM2+) (Toliman)
AMD Phenom Quad-Core 9xxx series (AM2+) up to 9850 (Agena)
Based on the CPU part number supplied, you purchased another 125 watt CPU. The AMD Phenom X4 9850 (HD9850XAGHBOX) isn't going to work because it is rated at 125 watts and therefore is not compatible with your motherboard. Please consider returning (as Dave suggests) or selling your current CPU and getting one of these 95 watt AMD Phenom X4 CPUs.
    Please send KUDOs

  • Too much Vdroop on P67A-C45 (B3)

Hi, I have seen Vcore on another P67A-C45 B3 and it manages as my previous B2 (+0.008 on full) but mine is drooping more than 0.03v
CPU-Z shows 1.272 on idle and 1.24 on full (Prime95, can be higher using LinX).
Otherwise, it needs a reboot to detect a Seagate 7200.11 500GB wich works perfectly in othre motherboards and I was having BSOD 124 on idle, I'm testing now last BIOS 1.I turbo ON, no crashes yet...
¿Any idea to fix the HDD detection? It look like an insurmountable compatibility problem :(
¿Can I do a RMA process to fix the Vdroop problem? I have never seen an Vdroop like this, even in most cheap motherboards.
I'm setting in manual, dynamic is too high and MSI motherboards can adjust offset as other brands
¿How about othre P67A-C45 B3, is normal this Vcore?
    Thanks guys.

Heh, I use your avatar in other forums
Thanks for reply HU16E, I'll follow your tips.
    My system:
    Hyper 212+ (+2 Gentle Typhoon 1150, max. under 60º @4,4-4,7)
    2x2GB Kingston Value RAM 1333 CL9 1.5v @ 1600 (1333 when testing)
    7200.11 500GB 32MB (last firmware SD1A)
    OCZ Z-Series 550W
    i5 2500K
    HD 6850
    Marian Trace Alpha (sound card)
    Conceptronic C54Ri (wireless controller)
I have read about similar problems with MSI motherboards, its not as simple as raise Vcore because I can pass 2h of Prime95 Custom (1792 min & max FFT, all the RAM & 1min per test. I dont know a better stability test, works better than LinX + AVX). If it can pass 2h torture test with 1.24, something is wrong crashing with 1.27 (IDLE). I have tested 1.27-1.24 for 4,2 (use to be @4,5) and a bit less Vcore for stock with older BIOS, still having problems. It looks like turbo works better, in fact I have read that here (this forum is much better than latin). I hope turbo + last BIOS will be fine
I don't want to set APS/Intel, it manages Vcore without Vdroop but using for stock (33+T, 1 volt in manual works fine) the voltaje needed for my actual frequencies, higher with OC & without adjustment (just a poor ON/OFF LLC wich isn't working with manual Vcore)
    Thanks again, I'll pray
