P67A-G43 (B3) BIOS+error codes?

I have the P67A-G43 (B3) motherboard and POSTs, but I'm unable to find out what the error codes mean. I am receiving two beeps, and then a shorter, higher-pitched beep. The manual has nothing about what these error codes mean and I am not getting live video from my GPU.

I am not sure what BIOS my mobo has
No need for Windows based utilities to see what BIOS is installed. The 'as shipped' can be read right off the mainboards BIOS chip, but it can be found in BIOS 'Settings', 'System Information'.

    3rd letter lowercase L.
    4th letter lowercase O.
    9th is number 1.
Use that code to go into the BIOS.
Disable all passwords that are enabled.
If asked for the CURRENT password use that code.
If asked for NEW password just hit enter.
If asked to VERIFY password just hit enter.
    Save and exit.

  • P67a-g43(b) bios

hello.  maybe someone can help me out.  my son got a p67a-g43 motherboard from a classmate in his high school pc class several months ago.  the classmate removed the old processor from it before my son got it and my son wants to put a i5-3570k processor on it, but the bios was still at version 1.b, which from what i read is way too old for this processor.  i was able to make an interface to talk to the bios eprom with my parallel port and upgrade the bios to 1j, but of course that is not what the processor needs either but i was able to confirm my interface worked because the file i wrote and read back was the same as the original v1.j file.
i dont have an older processor to bring this board up to be able to do a windows bios upgrade to v 5.1 and the kid who my son got the board from sold the processor, and i cant afford to send it off to be upgraded, especially where i can do it myself.  what can i do to get a bin/rom version of the v5.1 file so i can write it myself in dos to the eprom????  my son saved up $800 over 8 months  to be able to outfit this board to run and i hate to have him wait longer to buy another board.  i sent a msg off to msi asking for a non exe version of the bios update, but so far no response.  if the exe was extractable on a machine other than the one i am trying to fix it would be no problem, but its not...... i dont have and cant afford an older processor just to fix this board.  can anyone help or suggest anything before my son goes and buys another board from a diff manufacturer?

my son is in the only computer class in the area but they dont teach the hardware repair/flashing part in the class.  they focus more on what to buy and networking, its really a sham.  anyway i can program it, i just need the file.  as i said the v5.1 file on the msi site is in exe self extracting format.  it asks to be on a usb drive.  so when i put it on a usb drive in another pc it then says it cant extract cause its the wrong machine.  so i cant get the file out of it i need to be able to flash it.  if i had the file in would be golden cause i could flash it in no time.  i dont understand why msi released it only in a format that will only extract on the machine its meant for?  i do understand some people will be careless and run a file not meant for their pc but it sucks for those of us who can do this themselves and cant get to the bin/rom file needed to solve a simple problem.  if someone had a copy of the extracted file or had read thier eprom after flashing it with v5.1, my problem would be solved easily.

  • P67A-G43 Incompatible BIOS

I have a P67A-G43B3(MS-7673) Motherboard currently running BIOS version 1.E0(V1.14) from 2011-11-09. I want to start overclocking now that I have a decent amount of knowledge on the subject and so my first step was to update my BIOS. There have been two newer releases: Version 1.H0(2012-01-13), and Version 1.I0(2012-02-22). Initially I tried updating using Live Update 5. It didn't take long for me to realize that this software simply does not work, even after updating to the latest version of LU5 directly from my motherboard's support page. So I decided to just get the newer versions of my BIOS from my support page and download and install them manually. I started with Version 1.H0, and downloaded the ZIP file. I extracted it to my Program Files (x86)/MSI subfolder and ran the .exe (AFUDE238.exe). Upon doing so I receive the following error:
If I try to install Version 1.I0 I also get the same error. Is this a known bug, or am I just doing something wrong? Does the location where I extract the ZIP file matter? Or do I need to do something first, like flash my BIOS? I am running Windows 7 64-bit.

Alright. I was trying to avoid this method because I didn't want to risk screwing anything up, but the instructions seem pretty straightforward. I just had one question remaining then: If I go ahead and use the USB Flasher, would it be safe to just jump right to the latest version of the BIOS (1.I0)? Or should I first install 1.H0?

  • P67a-g43 (b3) bios issues

I built this pc about 4 months ago and everything works fine except the bios. Windows boots fine once windows is up and running everything else works great. The problem is the bios hangs and never loads if I press DEL at the MSI logo during boot up. Also there are no button prompts telling me which keys to press to enter bios so I am just going on what the manual says.
Sometimes I can see Entering setup.... in the corner but it still never moves off the logo screen. Ive given it about 5-10 minutes and it never seems to load the bios. What could be the cause? I am using Wintec ram if that has anything to do with it.
According to some MSI utilities, the bios version is 1.9.

I downloaded msi control center and it seems to have every setting that I was looking to tweak in bios. It is allowing me to oc my cpu and for some reason it is even letting me change the clock setting, but I thought the non k series had locked clocks? Cpu is now running at 3.5 ghz on all 4 cores and higher on less cores. Only downside using the control center is having to oc every time windows boots.
Since I'm now able to oc my cpu, I am looking into getting the cooler master hyper 212 plus. Will this cooler sit nicely into my mobo? Also, if anyone else has any other thoughts on my bios problem please share some ideas.

  • (Solved) P67A-G43 Won't OC After BIOS 5.4 (BIOS Shows OC, but CPU-Z Does Not)

    After upgrading a P67A-G43 with BIOS 5.4 in preparation for a 3770k, the existing 2600k doesn't OC.
Setting the CPU ratio in BIOS shows the correct ratio in top right stats and in the ratio setting and, after disabling graphic splash, the correct multiplier is even shown on the POST. However, CPU-Z in the OS and benchmark results show only the stock 3.4.
In normal mode I tried 35, 37, 40, 44. OCG mode has the same problem. Although it show 42, CPU-Z shows only stock.
I can down-clock fine (and CPU-Z shows the correct down-clock ratio), but going above 3.4 is a non-starter.
    [SOLVED]
If you disable Turbo, the core limits are not shown in the CPU settings. You have to enable Turbo, set the core limits, and then disable Turbo.

You can play COD2 in single player mode? If so, then I would think that you have a game set-up problem with the mutli player mode.
Just do a search on the net for that error message and you will see you are not alone. Go to the game manufacturers site and check for game updates. It could also be related to direct X installation.
Hi, i think could be a drivers problem, i just replaced my motherboard and processor only and i never had any problem before...

    Hi, Klinge.
You are one of the more-experienced members of HP's Forums — but most folks here aren't as tech-savvy; if you had searched for any of the following :
Tablet won't boot, startup problem, ElitePad 900, startup error ...
You would have found several useful suggestions in each of those corresponding search results.
As it turns out, you stumbled upon one of the solutions to startup issues caused by allowing the battery to become completely drained; I'm pleased that you've recovered use of your ElitePad — without having to restore any software.

Was using a USB for bios flash through the uefi bios. I chose ME flash, and it flashed ME then rebooted and then flashed the bios and then it finally rebooted but to a black screen. • HP Pavilion A6528 P Error Code: Bio HD - 3 "No bootable drives detected."

    Hi,
I initially had a Bio HD - 2 error message, the computer would not boot.  So after unplugging and replugging the Sata cables and  running the diagnostic test I concluded that the hard drive may be shot and since I do not have another computer with a sata interface to test the hard drive, I purchased a new HD (Western Digital with the exact same specs) and installed it. After the installation the computer still would not boot ,so I ran the diagnostic again and apparently the HD was recognized and passed but now I have a new error message stating that while testing: boot path,   the error states  Error code: Bio HD - 3  "No bootable drives detected."I searched the board and could not find the definition for this error code.
    Please advise.
    Thanks

    Try this procedure:
Unplug the PC and open it up. Clean out all the dust. Carefully remove and replace all the cables going to the motherboard one at a time. Do the same for the memory dimms and the video and sound cards if you have any. Then clear the CMOS. Plug your PC back in a give it a go.  You might consider trying to use a different motherboard sata port for your hard drive.
Unplug all external devices other than the mouse, keyboard and monitor.

  • T431s - Can't update BIOS - WINUPTP.exe "Error code = 183"

Tried to update the BIOS on a new T431s. Downloaded the latest BIOS flash utility from Lenovo's support site, everything extracts fine, but once the flash utility starts and attempts to flash the BIOS it gets an error and re-attempts it (3 times), before giving me an error message: "Failed to Microcode update. The utility process has not completed.".
Looking at the log file shows an "Error code = 183" after each attempt.
The existing BIOS is ver. 1.04, and version I'm trying to update to is 1.06.
The ISO image for the BIOS update seems like a nogo since this machine doesn't have an optical disc drive. Unless there's some way to copy the [BOOT] partition on the iso to a USB drive.
    Solved!

    hi all
thanks for posting. Was reading through this thread and to be honest I'm not sure why you're receiving the error message when updating the BIOS. I will have to consult the team first to see if anything went wrong. In the mean time could you try updating the BIOS downloading the BIOS from the link below to see if you still face the same error message.
