P67A-G65 New build a few questions

It has been a while since I have built my last computer and have a few questions.
First I am using a G65 2600k, coursair vengence ram WD Sata 6gb hard drive ATI 6850 video card.
I have read that there are different settings for the hard drive in the Bios Like IDE and some other settings. what is the optimal setting for the hard drive?
Next, when i first boot up should i only install one stick of ram or can i put in both. I have seen different opinions.
If anyone else has any tips that can help me with the build i would appreciate it. I know there have been many issues with these boards but i am trying to do what i can to prevent any problems.
thanks for the help.

I have my drives set to IDE; but raid is probably the optimal setting. Note that raid does not require that you set up a raid; rather it allows for the most flexible protocol (i.e, raid will also enable ahci which allows for request queueing on sata drives). Why I did not use ahci; well I was daft when I did the install and I don't want to be troubled with reinstalling.
You can certainly install both sticks of ram; but if you have any issues then you will need to back-out to 1 to ease trouble shooting. I.e, the recommendation is that you start with 1 stick. In my build I went with both sticks and have had zero issues 'cept for bsod when the system enters sleep mode under high load (I suspect an eventual bios update will fix this issue though it could also be a windows 7 issue).
If you are going for a crossfire or sli  configuration be sure to install the case cables before the vidoe cards as jfp2 will be blocked (the power led goes there if your case has a 3 pin power led).
It is probably a bit easier to plug in the sata cables earlier than later during the build; though this really depends on your case layout and how much clearance there is between the drive cage and the sata ports. Also video card 1 (if long) will sit over several the of intel sata ports. The ports are 90 degree so they are not blocked; but it is easier to plug them in first.
You should use the intel ports before the marvel ports; also it might not hurt to turn off unused devices in the bios (less wattage and less concern with drivers).
After the build be sure to run something like prime95 configured to use all the memory (torture test; custom set the memory to use) for 5 or 6 hours (some recommend 24 hours). Others recommend memtest but I've always had better luck with prime95. It is not uncommon to encounter a  bad memory stick (can't really give a % but t 2+% would not shock me).
Don't overclock until testing other components (i.e, prime95). Once the system is stable be sure to enable xmp if you are using memory faster than 1333 and test again. Then bump the clock up (but not the multiplier). Monitor heat on first boot up in case the fan is not installed correctly (not sure if you are using stock or after market cooler). These cpu will auto shutdown in most cases before overheating but it is a good thing to fix

  • New T530 a few questions

I have a new T530 and just have a few questions.. (ok its at home as of typing this so some i can't test right away)
Swapping the fn and ctrl keys, from research I can do this from the bios, correct?
Is there a way to use the wireless switch to disable just bluetooth? or is this a bios setting as well? (yes I know i could disable in the device manager)
Is there a way to have the backlight on the keyboard turn on when using the keyboard rather than having to manually turn it on everytime?
also i have 16GB ram in this machine, but it appears some gets taken for the intel graphics, though I do have the nvidia NVS graphics option. is there a way to disable the intel portiion so i gain this ram back? (agreed, this is more of me complaining than a question)
last, I currently have the intel Centrino Wireless-N 2200 (2x2 BGN) card, and was interested in upgrading to the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 AGN, can i just get one from any store? or do i need the "lenovo" model. I would like to get th 6300 but it appears to have just 2 connectors instead of 3.
    Thanks

You can do this with Fn-F5 (user's guide, P23) (English) User Guide
The pop-up menu will give you the option to enable/disable wifi and/or bluetooth.  Is that what you were looking for?

  • Just got a new iMac, a few questions

Hi, hopefully you guys can help me out, I just purchased a G5 iMac to replace my aging dell desktop, and now i'm more or less completely os x dependant (I've had an ibook for a few months now). Anyway, I have a few questions:
    1. Does anyone know of a (free) mail notifier tool, that will alert me when I recieve new pop3 mail? I used to use AIM for this in windows
    2. Anyone know of a good (free, again) IRC client?
    3. I noticed earlier that my screen was flickering, it seems to have subsided for now, but is that normal to encounter in a new display? It wasn't really bad flicker, but I could see it.
    4. I leave my desktops on 24/7x365, will that be a problem with this iMac? Display shuts off of course after 30 mins
    5. Should I get the extended warranty? I'm usually against them, but I am expecting this computer to last me at least 3 years (for $1300 it better!) before I upgrade, as I got that much out of a Dell and from what I understand, Mac's do not age nearly as fast as Windows pc's.
    Thank you for any help,

    iChat works well.

You could set the iMac to go to sleep after non use. My Macs are
always sleeping when not in use, waking them up takes seconds.
Unlike windoze, never knew if it would be locked up or not.

It is well worth the cost. Never know what might happen. Also
it is good insurance for future upgrades. I traded in my G4 tower
purchased two years ago for 75% of what I paid for it. Apple care
transfers, giving the buyer the remainder of your warranty.

  • Getting new MBP a few questions please

hi guys, new to the forum and soon hopefully new to Mac, looking at getting a Macbook pro 15" 2.4 (the new one)with 4 gig of ram. and I have just a few questions.
I'm hoping you guys can help me with.I'm a pro press photographer but unfortunately our company's required software is PC based so any of you that have used Vm fusion is it going to be fast enough to use on a daily basis with this models of MBP.It's the only thing i would have to run in VM. Any thoughts.
Second is it worth the extra cash to upgrade the hard drive to a 7200prm version , will it make much difference with CS3 and the like or will battery life take two bigger hit. (I cant see my self doing much video or motion)
I have already decided that the 2.5 is not worth the price difference for what i do, but any ones thoughts on that are most welcome.
great forums, cant wait to join the club look forward to all your thoughts.
    cheers Cameron

I was in the same decision conundrum until last night. After a lengthy chat with the folks at the local Level 2 service center, we agreed that:
    # Extra RAM is best purchased separately for the reasons explained elsewhere in this thread.
    # AppleCare is a must on a portable, but is best purchased later, in about 10-11 months.
    # The 7,200 RPM HD does make a substantial difference, especially for CS3.
    # The 2.4 to 2.5 CPU difference is not in the speed but in the L2 cache, which can make a difference with well-written apps that exploit this feature. Hence, a toss-up. Remember that's one thing you can't upgrade.
    # The 2.5 to 2.6 CPU difference is a $300 ripoff. 100 extra MHz are really not worth that!
    # iWorks costs the same preinstalled or purchased separately, except you won't have to spend time installing it. Does your company have a corporate license for Office?
    # I find that the reflections off the glossy screen really tire my eyes. YMMV...
    # Parallels Desktop is considered more usable than VMWare Fusion by most users. BootCamp is too cumbersome since you have to be rebooting all the time. This is, BTW, a good reason to have 4GB RAM...
    # Lastly, my portables last me 4-5 years, so I prefer to invest in something that can stay the course that long.
So, there you have it. I ordered mine last night...

  • K9N6PGM2-V2 - new motherboard & a few questions

Howdy - my MSI replacement MSI K7N2 Delta2 - LSR motherboard finally died, so it's time to retire my Atlhon XP+ 3200 Barton Core CPU.  What a great processor.
I really appreciate all the help you gave me when I had to replace the first K7N2 motherboard.
A few months ago, I was fortunate enough to win a PC system.  It had been sitting in the shipment box until a few days ago.  I was delighted to see an MSI motherboard when I opened the tower.
    Here are the basic components:
Here's a link to the motherboard specs:
    http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=proddesc&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=&cat3_no=&prod_no=1863
I'll be moving the components of the new PC to a new tower with a 480 watt power supply.
Eventually, I'll be building a new PC based around the new AMD 6 core CPU.  This is where your expertise is needed.
Question 1:  I want to purchase a video card to run on the K9N6PGM2-V2 motherboard after it's connected to the 480 watt power supply.  This new video card will be moved to the AMD 6 core CPU PC when that gets built.
What is the most powerful nVidia based video card I can use on the K9N6PGM2-V2 motherboard?
I'll be playing games like Bad Company 2 and Call of Duty Modern Warfare.
    Question 2 - Here's a screenshot of the K9N6PGM2-V2 motherboard:
What peripheral is used in the PCI_E1 slot?
Question 3 - The PCI_E2 slot clearly is for the the video card.  The PCI-1 and PCI-2 slots appear to be standard PCI slots for peripherals such as Network Interface Cards.  Am I correct?
Question 4 - The computer specs say the K9N6PGM2-V2 motherboard has an AM3 socket and the screenshot of the motherboard says it is an AM2 socket.  Which one is correct?
Thanks for any assistance you can offer.
    Joe

1 - Just about any you can afford to buy providing you have adequate PSU. Did you have any particular model in mind? I suggest you start with a good Corsair PSU right from the beginning. Due to good pricing at newegg most of the time, I would say a Corsair TX650W would do just fine.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=104805.0
2 - Any kind of PCIe cards made for use in PCIe x1 slot such as sound cards, NIC cards. In other words the same type of cards used in PCI slots but made to fit PCIe x1 slot.
3 - Yes to what you said.
4 - It is AM2+ but can use AM3 CPU's (Phenom ll/Athlon ll, up to but not including X6) that are in the support list such as the Regor it came with.

  • New Apple TV - Few questions!

    Hi,
I ordered a 40gig Apple TV the other day after finally deciding to take the plunge into the world of streaming videos. My Apple TV should be at home when I get back from work today, so I have a couple of questions before I get up and running with it:
    1) What is the best PC software for converting DIVX/XVID files for viewing on the Apple TV. I've tried Videora, but it seemed to crop the edges off one of my Avi files.
    2) I want to try and get all my Music and DVDs onto my PC so I can stream everything, but what is the best PC software for ripping a DVD? Where do I stand from a legal POV copying DVDs that I own onto my PC if they are only for my personal viewing?
Thanks for your help in advance.

Wondershare products are the best out there. I have been using the DVD to AppleTv program and it has been working fawless. There are other programs they sell that will convert any video format into something playable on your appletv. Handbrake, Videora, and Streamclip all are free but will have you going crazy trying to figure things out. Wondershare is user friendly and only takes a few clicks. It also mergers vob folders together correctly. Do not buy Imtoo products, they do not work as promise. And remember to stream your videos not synching them because your video library will become too enormous and time consuming to sych all the videos each time you add a new video. About QT PRO, it will only adjust your videos if it is the quicktime fortmat to the appletv format. So if you have a divx clip, forget about it. It will not work.

  • 890GXM-G65 New Build

    Hello
I am building a new machine but having blue screen crashes during OS installation. The machine spec is as follows:
Motherboard: MSI 890GXM-G65, with latest 1B BIOS. BOIS is set to default settings.
    Memory: 2 x 4GB Corsair 1333 DDR3 Non-ECC (9-9-9-24) 1.50V, dual channel.
    Power Supply: Arctic 700W.
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Socket AM3 3.2 GHz.
    HDD: Seagate 500GB 3.5" Barracuda SATA-III 6Gb/s
    Optical Drive: LG BH10LS30 10x BD-RE with DVD±RW & LightScribe SATA Blu-Ray
First I tried loading my old Windows XP OS but this was was crashing at random points in the installation process. Sometimes I would get all the way through but it would crash during updating from the Windows Update website. I gave this up and decided to bit the bullet and put Windows 7 on it. This began blue screening almost immediately, but my most successful attempt has got to 66% in the expanding files phase of the install (several times it has stopped here). I had a 550W PSU installed at this time, so I decided to put the PSU shown above in, but this has made no difference. The blue screen message is almost always "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL", which does not tell me to much. It might be indicating a CPU or Motheboard issue, but I cannot decide which.
I now have a pretty big investment in hardware and software, and not a lot to show for it. I would be most grateful for any pointers that anyone has to offer on how to proceed further with determining where the problem lies. Thanks very much for reading this.

The Corsair is for sure far more powerful then both others.
As you have to look at the 12V rail, it output 34A BUT that is continues power.
Those other PSU's will not do that, not even close.
You can simply not buy a powersupply that outputs 500W continues for a lower price then the Corsair.
But the entire game isn't about watts, it's about 12V amperes that can be delivered continues, the Corsair does that.
Those "brands" you name for sure won't deliver anything near and probably explode when you try.
Please do some reading at http://www.jonnyguru.com/ you will quickly find out that watts are not the game to be played, the amps that the 12V regulators can handle are.
BTW, he has some reviews about el-cheapo PSU's that blow to pieces big time not even reaching anything near the Wattage on the label.
Please don't fall for the Watt trap as it's abused by many cheap crap PSU's, even if they do look fancy.
Just read this test about the CX-430 and you know enough: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=214

  • New owner, a few questions

I have enjoyed my new Iphone for 2 months and purchased a unit for my son as a Christmas present.
Initially we will be sharing the same desk top till he can get laptop.
My plan is 2 seperate Itunes accounts. Only one calendar (outlook) on this desktop, mine. When he syncs up is he not gonna get my calendar and contacts on his unit is he? Is that info gonna unique to my unit?
2nd question- I don't wanna sound dumb, but any music I buy stored on my hard drive or on Itunes?
Next question. When he buys a laptop, how does he get his Itunes to his new computer? What will be the procedure to get him off my desktop and on his laptop? Meaning can the phone talk to 2 computers?
    Thanks.

The only way to stop that is to set his iPhone not to sync calendar and contacts. There isn't a way to set 2 different phones to sync 2 different sets of contacts. Unless one of you opens a MobileMe account, and syncs to that without syncing to a desktop. A workaround is that one of you uses Gmail calendar and contacts, and accesses that direct from the browser on the phone, but there's no syncing. Ig he's like most youngsters, her won't care about syncing his contacts to the desktop, so set his phone up not to sync Calendar and Contacts at all.
2nd question- I don't wanna sound dumb, but any music I buy stored on my hard drive or on Itunes?
It's stored on your hard drive, in wherever your iTunes library is set in iTunes options. Long time since I used iTunes under Windows, so I can't remember the exact place to look, but open iTunes options and look for an advanced tab. That should show where your iTunes library is. Usually somewhere within the My Music folder, I think.
Next question. When he buys a laptop, how does he get his Itunes to his new computer? What will be the procedure to get him off my desktop and on his laptop? Meaning can the phone talk to 2 computers?
2 ways (there may be others). (a) connect laptop and desktop, open iTunes on the laptop, and import into iTunes the tracks he wants from the desktop, or (b) copy the tracks to where he wants them on the laptop, open iTunes options, point to the new location for his library, and the use the Consolidate option to get iTunes to move and organise the tracks
    Thanks.

  • New iMovie - A few questions (fav/reject, timeline)

Have some questions on the new iMovie v 10:
    1.  Is the "new" clip wrapping "vertical" timeline view gone?  I actually liked this as opposed the the traditional horizontal timeline.  Now all I see is the traditional horizontal timeline.
    2.  The Favorite and Reject buttons appear to be gone.  I have to right-click and then select "favorite" or "reject" .  This has gone from one click to two...And I don't feel that I have gained this space in the UI.   Can I get fav and reject buttons back?

    1- View>Wrapping Timeline
2- Fav/Reject specific buttons are gone but can be accessed with a control click. Which will also show you the Keyboard Shortcuts for those options.

  • New laptop-a few questions

I just bought a new laptop and have downloaded iTunes. If I plug in my iPhone, will iTunes on my new laptop pick up the applications, etc. from my iPhone? I'm a little afraid that I may wipe out the stuff on the iPhone. I have been syncing my phone with iTunes on my desktop computer previously. I want to be able to sync my iPhone with either computer. My goal is to get my contacts from the phone into the Outlook contacts folder on my new laptop.

You need to transfer or copy your iTunes library from your desktop to your new laptop - especially if your iTunes library on your desktop includes content that was acquired elsewhere besides from the iTunes store - such as music imported into your iTunes library from a music CD.
In regards to iTunes content, an iPhone can be synced with a single computer only. Even after transferring or placing a copy of your entire iTunes library from your desktop to your laptop, your iPhone will be erased of all iTunes content first when syncing iTunes content with your laptop since you are syncing your iPhone with a different computer. If you plan on transferring photos from your laptop to your iPhone, the same applies to photos transferred to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process.
You can sync contact info, calendar events, and bookmarks with the supported applications on multiple computers.

  • New iTunes - a few questions

When I'm under Artists, it has one album split into three. I've checked and renamed the album thinking it would group together, but it doesn't. For another artist, it has him named under "3" which isn't that at all. Even in the files it's correct. This won't change either after a few tries.
I like my things to be very organized so this is really bothering me. Any help is much appreciated!!

Select all of the tracks that should be on the same album together. Verify that the key variables of album artist and album name are the same. If they are not, the field will be blank when all are selected. If they are the same, then I can offer only one suggestion. I've had this inexplicably happen a few times. In desperation I changed the compilation setting to ues. This reunited the tracks as an album, but also moves the files, together in an abum name folder, into the compilations folder. A bit annoying, but a small price to pay to get them to display as a single complete album.

  • New build older game question

I had a k7n420 pro with onboard video. I put together a msi p6n sli fi with a e6400,2gb 533 ram and msi 7300gt. I'm not a gamer but I had max payne. Installed the game it goes thru the intro but when I want to actually load the game it crashes with xpsp2 message about error report. I also tried mad onion 2001 but it did the same thing. I installed hitman code 47 and that works ok. Are they just too old? Do i need some kind of driver? I did a movie backup and was blown away by the speed. I thank all of You in advance for any replies.

My power supply is a soly tech sl-400tf +3.3v-30 amps..+5v-28amps..+12v1-14amps..+12v2-15amps..-12v-0.8amps..+5vsb-2amps. The card is a MSI nx7300gt-td256eh. I missed the directx 9 under utilities. I realized this after wiping the drive and installing xpsp1, max payne crashed upon clicking it and said needs directx 8.0 compatible vga adapter. I wiped the drive again loaded xp pro sp2 mainboard drivers and vga drivers along with directx 9 under the utilities tab. This is the point where I tried the old mad onion 2001 test and it crashed to the desktop after double clicking it so I uninstalled it and downloaded 3dmark 03. The test went without a problem score 7254. Device manager is fine too. I bought this board for the two ide ports with my 120gb hard drive on primary and dvd burner on secondary. I'm going to try Max Payne again and will post back.

  • Switching Sides - A few questions about this build

Well, here I am... A Final Cut Pro user building a new box for Premier CS5. Would you believe it? I'm mostly working with AVCHD / H.264 hopefully natively depending on how the system performs. Mostly just editing in Premier and converting to MPEG, and H.264 for the web and blu ray.
Here is build that I have came up with. I love the case, it looks huge.
Antec Twelve Hundred Black Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case
    GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R
    Intel Core i7-930 Bloomfield 2.8GHz
    Mushkin Enhanced Redline 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
    EVGA 012-P3-1470-AR GeForce GTX 470 (Fermi) 1280MB
    CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-650HX 650W ATX12V v2.2
I have a few questions if you guys don't mind:
    1) The RAM i listed is speed 6. But it's only 6gb. I could spend more and get 12GB but it would be much slower (speed 9). I'm really only using premier, encoder, and encore. Little if no AE, etc. Will the performance gain be worth it to invest in slower 12GB ram?
    2) Any experience with the Matrox card? Everything I make gets exported to blu ray and some of it online (h.264). Seems like the $500 would be well spent.
    3) What is the cheapest version of Windows 7 that has the features someone like me would need?
    4) Is the PSU enough @ 650w? I plan on it powering 6+ HDDs.
I greatly apprechiate any help! Thank you so much!

    My CS5/AVCHD 1st Impressions http://forums.adobe.com/thread/652694?tstart=0 includes a link to what I built
According to other messages, 12Gig gives about a 30% performance boost over 6Gig
Win7 64bit Pro is what I have, and what I would use again if I was building
    What Matrox card?
The GTX 470 is the current "sort'a budget" card, with the Hack http://forums.adobe.com/thread/629557?tstart=0
A 650w power supply is not enough... get 850w as a minimum... not only for the drives, but the GTX 470 uses a LOT of power... for you, 1000w may be better for that many drives (plus, of course, your burner)
Get any optional case fans for your model... I do not overclock, and I bought an after market CPU cooler to replace the stock Intel model, as well as two 120mm case fans to blow directly on the CPU cooler and GTX 285
Buy http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-linux.htm and use it to make full boot drive image backups after every step of your build, when you are sure everything is working well, so you may easily restore to a known good state if you install some piece of software and it screws up your system

  • P67A-GD65 (B3) new build

I have a question about a new build using the following hardware:
    Motherboard: MSI P67A-GD65 (B3)
    Memory: OCZ 3G1333LV8GK DDR3-1333 (2x4GB)
    CPU: i7-2600k
    GPU: EVGA GTX 580
Hard drives: 2 1TB Western Digital SATA (no RAID)
After Windows 7 is installed...should I install all of the software under the Driver download section on the MSI site?  Is all of it needed?  Is there an order to the install?
    Thanks or any info...

Why not simply install the drivers that are on the disc that came with the MB? Most of do not install the utility software or Live Update, just the drivers after OS is installed. 1st would be chipset/INF drivers and such and then the latest graphics drivers from NVIDIA website.

  • A few questions before I buy a new iMac/Mac mini and sign up for Creative Cloud.

    Hello Everyone,
I am looking to purchase a new Apple computer and sign up for Creative Cloud within the next week and I have a few questions that should be answered before I proceed.
My wife and I own a business and we will be using the CS6 apps to create brochures, Constant Contact mailings, product package inserts, edit product photography for print and web use, and short HD how-to videos. We are not graphics professionals or power users and wont be doing anything too complicated.
Any help and answers will be greatly appreciated.
I will start with the hardware questions first:
I am trying to decide between the iMac and the Mac mini.
The iMac is a 2.7Ghz Quad-core Intel core i5 and comes with 4GB of memory that is expandable to 16GB, which I will do for sure. It comes with a Radeon HD 6770M graphics card with 512MB of GDDR5 memory(not upgradable), and a 1TB HDD that runs at 7200RPM. This unit meets the specs required.
The 2.5Ghz Mac Mini comes with 4GB of memory that is expandable to 8GB, I will also do this. It has a Radeon HD 6630M graphics card with 256MB of GDDR5 memory(not upgradable), and a 500GB HDD that runs at 5400RPM. This unit meets all the spec(I think) except for the speed of the HDD.
Question: Will the mini run the software without too much of an issue considering the speed of the HDD?
Question: Will the iMac run the software significantly better to justify the price difference?
I already have 1 mini(purchased 4 months ago, with the same specs listed above) and will be purchasing a second computer for my wifes desk. If the mini will run CS6 fine, that is great and we can save a few bucks. If my mini will not run CS6 well, I will get the iMac for her desk as she will be doing the bulk of the work in that regard anyway.
Now a couple of software questions.
After reading hundreds of reviews and forum posts over the last few days I have seen many people having this or that issue. It seems to me that most of the issues are because of upgrades from Lion to Mountian Lion after installing CS6 first or trying to open CS3,4,5 files in CS6.
If you want to know what issues have me concerned take a look at just this one forum:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2012/07/adobe-cs-apps-mountain-lion-no-known-issues.html
Similar issues are discussed in the Apple forums as well as many other places around the web.
I am not a computer professional but I know enough to maintain my systems and keep them running smoothly.
We do not have any Adobe software installed on my mini and will not be opening any files from previous versions of Adobe product in the new CS6 software. These will be a clean installs on pristine systems running fully updated Mountian Lion OS's on both machines and creating new files from scratch.
Question: Should I be expecting any issues like the ones I have read in the forums and blogs or are these just the normal things that happen when upgrading to new software with multiple hardware configurations?
My feeling is that we will not be having too much of a problem due to the clean installs and no files from previous versions.
Next up, the Creative Cloud(CC) FAQ states that you can install on 2 machines but can't open stuff at the same time.
Question: Does this mean we can't be using any CS6 apps at the same time or just not using the same app at the same time?
Example: PS and PS on both machines at same time = No, PS on one and Dreamweaver on the other at the same time=Yes?
The CC FAQ page says Adobe will add Lightroom 4 later in 2012 while the main CC page lists it as available now.
    Question: Which is true?
My mini is registered to me, with my name, iTunes account, Apple ID etc.
Question: Do I need to do the initial set-up of the new machine with all my information to ensure the CS6 suite works on both machines? Do the computers need to be registered(as far as Apple configuration is concerned) to same person for them to work on one CC account or can I install CS6 on any 2 machines regardless of how they were initially set-up?
This may seem like a silly question but I want to avoid any problems before they happen.
Well, those are all of my questions at the moment. To anyone who made it this far in my looooong post, Thank You so much for your time. I appreciate your expertise and knowledge and hope that you can help me make this decision.
    Cheers,
    Alex Bogdan

    Alex,
I'll try and answer your questions as best I can.
    Qn 1 Which Mac.
Ans:- As I understand it both units will run Adobe CS6.
Which one really depends on what you wand from CS6. If you are looking for high end demand and performance, then I would go for the IMac
Your Specs for the Imac are right. However if you buy your IMac straight from Apple there are even higher specs.
              You can get:-
3.4 GHz i7 processor rather than the i5
2GB video card as opposed to a 1Gb video card.
Of course such a model will cost you more.
In the end it is needs compared with money to spend. That is only a decision you cam make.
Q2:- Will the higher cost for the Imac justify copst.
Ans:- Again it depends on what demands you intend to make on the hardware and software.
But I note you have a business and if that businees expects to high demand and high speedy performance then I suspect the Imac would be more able to provide your needs.
Again only you will know the answer to that.
    Q3:- Questions about CS6 reliability
Ans:- I have been with Adobe for way over 10 years.
Speaking, only for myself, it is the most reliable software on the market.
It is true that if you look down this form, like any other and I am thinking about the Apple discussions forum, you will find numerous instances of problems.
Again this is only my opinion, but although all these problems are real for the individuals:-
First it is not clear why they have the problem e.g. what have they done or not done.
Second, they are in the minority of the total users using the hardware / software.
The only problem I am aware of with CS6 is Acrobat X. I understand it has been sorted Adobe, however it cost me so much work I have removed it from my system and reverted to Acrobat 9
So what I am saying is that there are only two comapnies I rely 100% on: They are Adobe and Apple.
So if you are happy with my opinion I would not worry about Adobe CS6
    Qn 4:- CS6 0n 2 machines.
Ans:- Yes you will not be able to run the same program similtaneosly.
I believe, if it is important that you do run the same program together, that you can acquire a further licience from Adobe to do that.
You would need to contact Adobe about that.
    Qn 5:- Lightroom 4
Ans:- Lightroom is now available as part of Creative Cloud.
Qn 6:- Set up for individual machines
Ans:- I do not believe you do. Once you have set up your Creative Cloud account you go to the apps site and download the apps for each machine.
Each machine downloads the apps and your machine and the apps are registered by Adobe.
Here is something that you may want to know:-
Because I was so unhappy loosing all the Acrobat data with Acrobat X I ended up deleting Acrobat X
However as far as Creative Cloud is concered Acrobat X is still on my machine.
It is not a problem for me because I am happy with Acrobat 9, it fullfils my needs and has not crashed and lost me all my bookmarks.
              However here is the point:-
Adobe, when there was a problem with Acrobat X requested that no-one deletes the application.
Though I do not know for certain I believe registration of the apps you have with Creative Cloud are registered with Creative Cloud in their database. Therefore were you to delete an app, it will still be registered with Creative Cloud and you will not be able to download a further copy even though the app is no longer on your    machine.
Therefore it maybe not a good idea to delete an app when you no longer have a use for it. If you want it back I suspect you will have to contact Adobe Support
    Personal Comment:-
It is true many unfortunately have had all sorts of problems, including me with Acrobat X.
That said, Creative Cloud in my view has been a major advance in how Adobe delivers software. I have no regrets with signing up to Creative Cloud and I expect to remain with it.
Hope all of that goes some way to answering your questions.
