P67A-GD53 (B3) Board Control Centre Software

Hello,
I have the above motherboard and am using MSI control centre. The board has blue phase LEDs which light up automatically when booting up.
Within MSI control Centre it is possible to turn these LEDs off. Unfortunately, putting the CPU in sleep mode resets the LEDs to on.
Is it possible to turn the LEDs permamently off even when going into sleep mode.
Thanks,
Nevica

I got a few complaints on this subject and my first thought was pirated mainboards.
Not this case.

    Hi,
where can I download the software?
as you might already see, there's a duplication...I think there's some conflict going on so I thought i'll be good to unistall and reinstall it again to fix it...

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I took another look at the picture and now i understand what you mean. I missed that part at the bottom right. This is not a conflict or duplication though and work the way it should work. You see the ATI radeon twice because one is for the internal LCD monitor and one is for an external monitor. Even if you have no external monitor connected it will still be shown twice like shown in your picture. The same goes for the "Mobile Intel....etc" which is listed twice as well since you have switchable graphics enabled. If you righclick your desktop, choose "Personalize" and then "Display Settings" you will see four monitors there as well and this is correct.
As you already might be aware of some T500 and T400 have switchable graphics which means there are two graphics adapters in your computer (The ATI/discrete and the Intel/integrated). You can switch between them to use the Intel when you need long battery life and use the ATI when you need more performance. So that is why you see the Intel and ATI and as explained above they are both listed twice because one for each adapter is for the internal LCD and one for each adapter is for an external monitor (shown even if no external monitor is connected). If you disable switchable graphics and enable the ATI/discrete you should see two for the ATI only and the same goes for Intel if you disable switchable graphics and enable the Intel/integrated.

  • P67A-GD53\GD65 BIOS compatibility

Hi, the question is: do P67A-GD53\GD65 boards use the same bios, so it is safe to flash, for example gd65 bios to gd53 board?
    Thanx in advance.

Any specific reason you want to flash at all?
BIOS is NOT a driver, if the system is fine it should be left alone.

  • P67A-GD53 (B3) Missing Front Panel Connectors

I've received a brand new P67A-GD53 (B3) board this morning and it appears to have no front panel connectors for power switch, LEDs, speaker etc.
In place of the connectors there are two black components wired into the position where the front panel pins ought to be, according to the manual.
The manual shows the correct connectors JFP1 and JFP2 and the box contained the usiual MSI 'M-Connectors' which are designed to fit on the front panel connector pins, but my board just has these odd components instead. The only way I can switch the PC on or reset it is by using the green buttons on the main board itself.
Have I got myself a non-standard version of the board? It was purchased from a trade distributor in the UK.

  • P67a-GD53 (B3) 2550K support?

    Hi guys,
I've been trying to decide between a 2500k/2550k and 3750k upgrade for my P67a-GD53 (B3) board and think i'm edging towards the older Sandy Bridge option (SLI/Crossfire problems with P67 and Ivy Bridge?). Anyway i'm trying to find out if my board will support a 2550K as it isn't on the CPU supported list on the website, if so which BIOS Rev. do I need to have? Would like to avoid any flashing bios (problems) if possible.
    Many thanks!

That 2550K is a brand new release. It offers a 0,1 GHz increase over the 2500K. I don't what the price difference is, but the other specs of the two CPUs are identical. You can do exactly the same with a 2500K by inceasing the core clocks by 0,1. Actually I am running my 2500K at 4,5 turbo boost.
So yes, you wil have to wait for a supported BIOS, but my belief is that due to the architecture being the same, it should probably work, but there is no guarantee.
Furthermore there are indication that MSI will only update the P67 Ivy BIOS versions henceforth. That still needs comfirmation.
If I were you, I would go with the 2500K and clock it slightly to get the same performance.

  • P67A-GD53 RAID Question

    Hi All
Very quick question re RAID set-up on a P67A-GD53. Sorry if this analogy is lost on everyone, but do these boards handle arrays like, say, a Dell PERC card does? Essentially, is the array handled entirely by the hardware and transparent to any Operating System/Hypervisor that may be installed on the volumes presented to it by the controller.
I'm sure the answer, whatever it may be, is common to all MSI boards with RAID controllers and possibly to all consumer boards-I've just never had any experience of them!
    Many thanks
    Rob

Onboard RAIDs are mainly software controlled unlike hardware RAIDs by add-on cards.

  • Control Centre - doesn't retain settings

The version of Control Centre (2.5.060) on my mother board (P67a-c43,  bios v1.19, 20120801) doesn't retain settings.  In fact what would appear to be the "apply" button is showing as blank.
Recently I reverted to an older version of the bios because of other problems.  I seem to remember that when I was using the very latest bios before I reverted to an older one at least the green power settings seemed to be working.
I notice on other posts that this problem of not being able to "apply" settings or retaining settings seems to be a bug that has never been fixed.
I wonder, is this still the case.  Is there any solution?

Thanks for the suggestion.  My bios version shows "auto" and a also atarget cpu temperature.  When I tried it at a target of 60C and ran the cpu flat out the cpu temp was nearly 70c.  So, knowing that the actual is overshooting the target temp, one way forward is to set the target quite a bit lower than than the actual desired temp.
I think this is simple if inelegant way of solving the problem and I'll probably adopt this mainly because it is so simple.
But surely to have to do this because Control Centre doesn't work and because the alternative  bios method of temperature control is inaccurate does not do MSI any great credit.

  • P67A-GD53 - B3 a few questions regarding a 2500K

Just came from a P45 Platinum and Q9550 (which I love and it's now in my secondary PC) to a P67A-GD53 - B3 and 2500K. Wow these chips fly!
I've updated to the latest bios (1.19, should put those Ivy Bridge bios 4.xx files in a separate section, confusing as I nearly updated to one by accident) which has solved a number of issues (mouse not working in BIOS, better fan control.) Great!
However, have a few more niggling problems.
    1) I had to place 2x8GB sticks in dimm 2 and 4 due to my heatsink. In the manual it says populate dimm 1 and 3 first for dual channel.
Common sense tells me dimm 2 and 4 should still work fine, however nowhere in the bios does it tell me I'm running in dual channel mode. I tried disabling the boot pic, but the darn thing boots so fast I can't for the life of me read what it says on post - even pause/break won't register it's so fast. Sooo...
Does anyone know how to check if it's running in dual channel mode? CPU-Z says dual, but doesn't mention symmetrical / asymmetrical etc, the box is greyed out. Or is there no such thing as symmetrical / asymmetrical on a 2500K?
    2) The bios does one long beep followed by two short beeps on post. I have only a USB mouse attached. P45 used to beep for USB devices, but this is different. It works 100% fine, but what's with the annoying beeps on post? Do I have to unplug the case speaker to avoid that racket each boot? No options to turn off in bios. Also why is it doing it? Makes it seem like something is wrong on post, but can't identify any issues.
    3) P45 Platinum used to still downclock voltage when you manually set it - it would simply add a + or - offset to all speedstep default voltages depending on what you manually selected.  The P67A-GD53 - B3 doesn't have this option - is this for Z68 boards only, or am I limited to sticking with AUTO only. AUTO actually seems to set it really well for turbo 4.2Ghz settings using around 1.30v (which the board seems optimised for a standard 2500K overclock), however it's strange this option was taken away when other P67 boards seem to have it.
    4) Active Phase Switching (APS) vs Intel CPU Power Phase control. Why have both? I'd imagine APS is now redundant now Intel have phase control logic as part of their specification.
    5) C1E is disabled by default. This is a bios controlled improved HALT status, switching off clocks and voltages. Did some checks and it seems 99% of power savings come from Windows controlled C-States and EIST (speedstep) on the 2500K and C1E actually isn't really needed anymore - in fact it can cause issues with SSD performance, latency and can prevent Windows having complete control of C-States in power management. Decided to leave this disabled as saw some power meter tests and it really did nothing vs other modern C-States once Windows boots up.

1.) With the pxx series 1 & 3 or 2&4 are both fine.
2.) The first beep is probably ok "ok" post beep , then mouse and keyboard.
3.) You should be able to get around a 4.5 ghz turbo oc with your set-up. See screen shots here of sample settings: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=162043.0
The vdroop options are your platform aren't very good and I believe are opposite. So set your to "low". (Test each way I don't have that board)
4.) I enabled both and was stable on a previous computer.
5.) C1E supports has been replace by Intel C State.

  • PCI-E slot possibly not working (P67A-GD53)

    Hello all,
New guy here. New MSI customer and everything.
I just built a new PC today with a MSI P67A-GD53. I first plugged in the VGA (a MSI GeForce GTX 560Ti OC Twin FrozR II) to the top PCI-E slot.
On boot, I get what I think is a VGA problem beep code (1 long - 3 short beeps). This happened with 2 different VGAs. I also tried my old XFX 8800 GT.
The computer boots fine when I plug in the MSI VGA to the second (bottom) PCI-E slot.
Does this mean that the top slot is broken? I guess I could try the 8800 at the same time to see if it works when 2 VGAs are plugged in, but I suspect it wont. Should I get the motherboard replaced? I am considering not getting it replaced now since I ordered it from the UK and I live in Cyprus and replacement could take a month to complete (posting overseas). Would that be a bad idea? I fear that if one part of the motherboard is faulty, it could potentially have other problems as well.

    Thx in advance

Ok, do you see the Realtek HD Audio correctly installed in your Device Manager?
When you plug speakers into MoBo, do you get a auto pop-up dialog from Audio Manager?
If not, you have to click yellow folder (in the upper right corner on the picture below) and to enable that dialog.
Does Realtek Audio Manager see anything connected to your board?
On my picture you can see 5 jacks faded,  but one ( green) in which I have speakers connected is in full colour.
When you right-click you mouse on that jack , it has to be dedicated to 'front speaker out'.

  • OWB11gr2 Control Centre Agent

    Hi,
Can i run a control centre agent(CCA) on a box other than the place where owb11gr2 is installed ?
We have a windows box A having MYSQL database but the database is not global, its local. We cannot connect to MYSQL outside that box.
Currently a batch script runs every night on that box A and dumps the data to csv files which are FTP to the OWB box B which transforms and load the data into target database on box B.
We are migrating to OWB11gr2 and want to know whether we can run a CCA on box A to read data directly from MYSQL and load data into box b target database.
We want to avoid , dumping and ftp of csv files which can save us time.
Is this possible ? If yes , how can it be achieved.
    Thanks,
    Samurai

    Hi
This is the general approach for creating a CCA remotely, I have created a small zip below which should get you up and running quicker. The steps include installing an OC4J install, then applying a small zip with the agent preconfigured on to the installed OC4J image, you have to copy the jrt.ear from an OWB install to this agent install.
    1. install OC4J 10g on the remote machine of your choice. Download OC4J 10.1.3.5 from here
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/utilsoft.html
    2. Download j2eehomeconfig.zippy (here http://blogs.oracle.com/warehousebuilder/cca/j2eehomeconfig.zippy) and unzip to the newly installed OC4J install directory j2ee/home/config directory overwriting files. By default it has the same port numbers as the default CCA installed by OWB so if you are on the same machine ensure you shut one down, or change numbers. This zip is just a quick start way to get CCA up and running on an OC4J specifically for this purpose.
    3. Copy the jrt.ear file from your OWB install to the machine where OC4J was installed and copy to j2ee/home/applications
    4. Before starting the OC4J following the readme for OC4J, set the variable OC4J_JVM_ARGS with:
    set OC4J_JVM_ARGS=-Dpython.path=%ORACLE_HOME%\j2ee\home\applications\jrt\jython_lib.zip;%ORACLE_HOME%\j2ee\home\applications\jrt\jython_owblib.jar -Dkm_security_needed=true -XX:MaxPermSize=128M
    5. Copy the required JDBC driver files into directory j2ee/home/applib. And start/restart OC4J.
Now, start the OC4J container (you will be prompted to create the oc4jadmin user's password), you now have a functioning CCA. You can now create a new Agent in the OWB client with the credentials and deploy/execute etc. There are other capabilities of CCA but this is enough to get off the ground with some basics. A mapping is executed on a single agent, bits of code may run remotely (ie via JDBC). So for you, you can run the code on the MySQL box, and remotely connect to the target where the data is being pushed for example. The data sources used by the mapping will need deployed to that agent along with the mapping and code templates.
    Cheers
    David

  • Fingerprint reader not working at log on - "Start Control Centre" greyed out

    Hi
I've been using a T61p last week. Overall, I'm very impressed with the laptop.
Initially when booting, I had the option to either enter my password or swipe fingerprints. Everything worked fine.
The fingerprint option at log on has now disappeared.
To try to fix this, I've started the thinkvantage fingerprint control centre, but on the general tab, the option to "Start Control Centre on Windows Start Up" is greyed out.
I am an administrator on the machine.
    Any help appreciated. Thanks

    Hello,
Have you tried downloading the latest version of the fingerprint software, uninstalling the current version and installing the freshly-download one?

  • How to enable Sound option in VAIO control centre?

After I reinstalled windows, the xloud function is missing in my lap. I googled and found out that it has to be enabled through Control Centre. But that option is missing in control centre. I reinstalled Audio Drivers and Control Centre from the Support Page. My laptop model is SVE11115EN
Nothing worked, Control Centre still doesn't show option called Sound. What can I do?

    Hi janmohammad,
Thank you for considering Sony Community!
If you did clean install of Windows 10/8.1 then probably, you wont have XLoud and ClearPhase options. There are drivers and software that are not available on Sony's support page. You need to use a set of recovery disc for your unit. Same resolution with u4icmusic.
Your Vaio SVF15318SN is an Asia Pacific model and we do not have the drivers and software / recovery discs.
