P67A-GD55 (B3) 3TB Support - What BIOS is Required?

Hi Guys,
Can someone from staff please confirm what version of the BIOS is required for 3TB support for the P67A-GD55 B3?
I currently have the latest stable BIOS installed from the link below:

2.2+TB support is a standard feature of the UEFI framework. So, basically, you do not need any special UEFI Version for that. Note that the 2.2TB barrier is first and foremost a limitation of the common MBR partition tables:

The solution (GUID Partition Table (GPT) support) is a part of the (U)EFI framework.
If you want to work with a disk partition larger than 2.2TB, it needs to be a GPT partition.
In case you run into any problems to mark a 3TB GPT as bootable, you may want to consider an UEFI Update to the latest version (E7681IMS.1E0):

I am owner of MSI P67A-GD55 (B3) motherboard. My system configuration is:
Intel Core i5-2500K (not overclocked, turbo mode is off) (water cooled)
Gigabyte GV-R695OC-1GD 1.0 graphics card
4 x 4 GB Corsair Memory (Part Number: CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9)
Corsair 90GB SDD Force III HDD + 1TB Samsung HDD

I was using latest 1.14 (1.E0) BIOS version. I have Microsoft Sidewinder mouse and sometimes I had problems with my mouse. Yesterday I saw that you released new version of BIOS 1.15 which improves compatibility with gaming mouse. Without wasting time – I’ve download new 1.15 BIOS version – copy it to my booted Pen Drive. After restart system, I’ve booted form USB drive and uploaded new version of BIOS. Everything was fine till restart. System turned on for about 1,5 second, after that computer turned off. It happened every time. I’ve tried to clear CMOS by clicking on the „clear CMOS Button” on Back Panel. But it didn’t help. My computer turned on for 1,4 s and turned off. I’ve tried to “Clear CMOS Jumper” with JBAT1 jumper. But it also didn’t help. I was really pissed off. I have been uploaded BIOS for long time and I never had problems like this. I thought that I would have to return motherboard to my store. But I tried something else. I’ve put out one of my memory module (form DIMM4), suddenly my computer turned off. So I’ve enter into BIOS and set everything to default. Everything was fine. I’ve restart system, booted up. After that I’ve turned off and put in my memory module and …………. my system turned on for 1,5 s after that turned off. I was really pissed. I’ve tried with others memory slots. DIMM1, 2, 3 – and it worked OK – but with DIMM4 for was error. So I’ve download 1.E (1.14) BIOS version and upload it. Now everything is working fine (with 4 memory modules loaded) but I have still problems with my mouse. There is some problem with this 1.15 BIOS version with 4 modules loaded – or just with Corsair memory. Does anybody had the same problem?

P67a-c43 upgrade to support IVY BIOS

I use a p67a-c43 with i7-2600k.
but now CPU is Broken and it‘s not covered under warranty period.
so i want upgrade to an ivy CPU.
But now the bios is an old version,may be is 1.J?.Should not be supported IVY CPU
SNB CPU has been difficult to buy.
I read the ME8 Upgrade Instructions,it’s seems to be necessary can into the system.but now I can not enter the BIOS
how should I do?

P67A GD55 Rev B - Upgrade Bios Question

To be honest, this post supposed to be a private message to Svet, but turned out a newbie like me who just joining the forum is not allowed to send PM...so apology if this questions are being asked so many times already:
Dear svet,
Really need your help in clarifying something, to make it short here are my questions:
First here are my PC Specifications:
MSI P67A-GD55 rev B
Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB XMP Enabled
PSU Corsair X750W
Intel Sandy Bridge i5 2500k
OS Windows 7 x64
1. I have upgraded my GD55 rev B bios to the latest bios available here: msi.com/product/mb/P67A-GD55--B3-.html#/?div=BIOS
which foolishy I didn't read the warn that it will not work proeperly for Sandy Bridge
2. The bios update/flash was a success, now I have the ver II click bios, completely different with the first version. With this bios I managed to OC to my previous OC speed (4.2GHz in OC Setting by changing it into 42 multiplier and set the Vcore to 1.35)
3. The reason that I updated my bios in the first time was I often experience 0x50 error while gaming certain games, and I thought upgrading bios is one of the solutions for it (after trying to change my RAM, changing my GPU, and my PSU to no avail)

with some fix in the 434 version states like this: "05.Fix system reset on 0x55 issue when use Sandy Bridge G440 CPU and install two 4G memory."
I am completely not sure whether this is related to my 0x50 BSOD or not, but really hoping that it is.
So my question is, should I upgrade/downgrade to your first post BIOS? (E7681IMS.434) or should I upgrade/downgrade to the latest beta 439 Bios (E7681IMSv439.rar) as the fix in 434 are included in 439?)

To be honest, I see myself rather as a silent reader than an active poster...so I would really try to avoid posting due to English isn't my first language....if that even make sense...
I think I have read quite a lot of 0x50 BSOD (CTD errors to be exact) in other forums to...have tried what people had posted as solutions for them...and still to no avail, hence my foolish and rushed attempt in flashing the bios...please do mind that the current bios is quite stable in my opinion, despite the same BSOD (CTD) in the certain game I have mentioned in my first post...
I have followed OC guide and benchmark in other forum which show each of its poster their OC settings and result (specifically i5 2500k series), and I have tried around 1 week to safely say that my unfortunate chip can only handly a stable 24/7 4.2GHz in that volt...i'm so lucky
and for XMP volt, I have no idea to be honest, I just enable it in the bios, will really look at it later on...
tl'dr thank you so much for the new insight of how to solve the 0x50! really appreciate it....If i can remember correctly, I have tried to use the default DRAM setting (without using XMP enabled) and still got the 0x50 CTD....but trying your suggestion is still a worth a try...will try this when I get home...thank you!

P67A-GD55 BIOS Update Fail

I have updated my P67A-GD55 from J0 to 4.10. It was ok and from 4.10 to 4.20. Now, my pc does not work. What I did was;
1. Downloaded bios from the MSI website
2. Put onto a USB drive
3. Flashed the BIOS via the menu in the BIOS
4. PC rebooted and continued to install some things
5. PC now, after reboot only nothing on screen, dvd drive makes a sound then reboots and keeps doing this.
I have tried to clear CMOS by pin...Also tried by removing the battery for at least 10 minutes...And also tried by removing RAMs...No joy at all...Please help me.

Try a full cmos clear, to make sure this occurs:
1.) Unplug the machine
2.) Remove the cmos battery
3.) Hold the power button in for about 10 secs
4.) Short the cmos clear pins
Then try to boot the machine with 1 stick of memory installed.
If you are unable to get the machine to post, you will need to:
1.) Send the board to msi for reflashing. (If it is underwarranty, you would only need to pay for shipping to msi)

2.) Take the board to a computer shop that has an spi programmer for reflashing. (Cost varies)
3.) Possibly borrow an support ivy cpu (no gaurantee this will work, but free if it does) then flash back to me7 with a file we give you and reinstall your 2500k

8GB of RAM Installed, only 4GB detected/used by BIOS/Windows 7 (with P67A-GD55)

Let me start off by saying that I'm not very good with computers. At all. I know a little bit about them, but I am by no means an expert. That said, I have 8GB of RAM installed on my motherboard, spread out across 4 sticks. However, upon looking at my BIOS and my Windows Resource Monitor, it declares that I only have 4GB of RAM installed and usable. This is what I know so far:
- This issue has been prevalent as long as I've had my computer, and by extension my motherboard and my RAM sticks, so this issue isn't recent.
- I do have a 64bit version of Windows 7. I've checked and double-checked, and I'm 99.5% positive that it is.
- Speccy, a 3rd party program designed for checking system specs, declares that I do, in fact, have 8GB installed.
- I don't think that the RAM is bad because the BIOS still does pick up on different statistics of the RAM that are in the slots; it just fails to register the actual fact that they're there.
System Specs:
OS: Windows 7 64bit SP1
CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K @ 3.30GHz
RAM: Patriot PSD32G133K 4x2GB DDR3 @ 498MHz
Motherboard: MSI P67A-GD55 P67 LGA 1155
HDD: 977GB SAMSUNG SAMSUNG HD103SJ ATA Device (SATA)
Optical Drive: LG DVDRAM GH24NS50 ATA Device
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6870 1GB VRAM
PSU: Cooler Master 750 Watt
BIOS Version: E7681IMS V1.5
Now this is where it gets interesting: My motherboard has 4 DIMM slots for the RAM, and the motherboard (I assume by default) works in dual-channel mode. This means that DIMM 1 and 3 work together and so do DIMM 2 and 4, which most of you probably understand. However, filling up all 4 slots only gives me half the RAM. So I remove the RAM from slots 2 and 4, and it results in all 4GB of RAM being detected. Then, I add in each other RAM stick one at a time, and it fails to register both. So I remove the RAM from slots 1 and 3, and keep the RAM from slots 2 and 4, and it ends up in all 4GB being registered.
I feel like the answer should be directly in front of me, but from endless Google searches and posts on other forums, I have ended up at a dead end. I'm completely clueless, so I could really use some help.
Any and all help would be appreciated.

P67A-GD55 can't access bios.

Had problem earlier to access bios using an msi p67a gd43, today i changed in to a p67a gd55 and i have the same problem. When i start it counts "98","99","A3" and then i press ALT and it just locks saying "starting setup".
I'm able to boot in to windows 7 64bit without any problem.
My setup is:
CPU: i5 2500k
GFX: Palit Geforce GTX460 768mb
RAM: 2x UMAX DDR3 1600 oc 2gb
PSU: Zumax 630W
I've unplugged all HDD and DVD.
So far I've tried to Clear Cmos with button and also jumper/battery method. Bios was 1.8 stock but flashed it anyway to 1.8.
Switch slots for RAM.
Removed the moderboard from chassi so it had no metal contact.
Changed PSU.
Only things i havent been able to change is ram and gfx so i suppose one of them is causing this problem, as for the memory im not able to get any information from it in sisoft sandra, in cpu-z it cant identify the brand.
Anyone had this or similare problem, and what did you do?

I am the owner of a MSI motherboard P67A-GD55 (Rev B3).
The operating system Windows 7 Pro 64 bit is installed on a disk in AHCI OCZ Vertex 3120 Go SATA0 mounted on the port (version 3).
I get many bugs and blue screens.
This would be resolved with the latest driver Intel Rapid Storage Technology 10.6.0.1022.
It must been associated with a bios with the Intel RAID Option ROM 10.6.0.1091.
The latest bios for my motherboard is 1.E (or 1.14) version which includes Intel RAID Option ROM 10.5.0.1034.
Are there plans to release a new bios with the new ROM?
If not, is there a way to include the last Intel Option Rom in the bios 1.E?

P67A-GD55 (B3) bios update to Ivy Bridge, question regarding PCIe-3

Hi,
Ive just updated my P67A-GD55 (B3) to the 4.0 BIOS for Ivy Bridge and I am a little confused as to whether of not I will be able to benfit from PCIe-3 support on a Ivy Bridge CPU?
I intend to run 2 x GTX 680 in SLI, will I still be limited to PCIe-2 of can my board now take advantage of PCI-e 3?

For PCI-E 3.0, a Z68 G3 series mainboard with an Ivy CPU would be needed at the minimum. So far, you are not really missing anything anyway. PCI-E 3.0 doesn't seem to be reported as providing all that much of a performance benefit with current apps, programs, and games.
Having tested GTX 680 on the P67, I must say it is in itself running PCI-E 2.0 very impressive.

Updating bios failed p67a-gd55

hello there, I tried to flash my bios on my p67a-gd55 (B2) from bios version 1.19 to version 4.3
i downloaded 4.3 from the msi website, put the exe on my fat32 memory stick and ran it. then my pc rebooted, and now when it boots, it gets to the msi logo for the bios then it reboots again and just keeps happening. i cant enter the bios either. and if i take out the memory stick it says please insert memory stick and reboot.
i have also tried putting my old bios files on my memory stick and then it says bios updating, me files missing.
i have tried everything i know, cleared cmos, taken out bios battery for a few hours, taken all my hardware out that i don't need. but i cant fix it
i don't know what to do if anyone can help would be good

This will not works, because he[topic starter] already started BIOS update using MSI's All in one archive file
So he stuck to endless MSI update process, MSI .exe updater is not good designed,
because it starts flashing and if there is a problem writing to ME region it will stuck with no chance to flash back, leave the board in half flashed bricked state.
If we assumed that he didn't started this update via MSI .exe updater,
and trying to flash via MSIHQ Tool instead, this will not works either, because B2 boards can't be flashed to ME9,
and it will print and error and nothing will hapends,
BUT it will not brick the board, like the MSI's all in one update method..

BIOS 4.1 - P67A-GD55

I recently upgraded my BIOS to version 4.1. Bad decision, if it ain't broke don't fix it right?
The previous BIOS versions have not given me overclocking issues. In 4.1, if I set the clock multiplier 45, the BIOS reports the O/C is in affect (4.5GHz). However CPU-Z shows my clock speed as 3.3GHz if I boot into Win 7 (64-bit). I'm in "standard mode" for the bios setup. Any suggestions? I don't get why my configuration settings are not being utilized. Is CPU-Z not reading things correctly?
I also tried O/C Genie and CPU-Z still reads 3.3GHz as the clock speed. Is the BIOS too new for these programs so they default to the stock clock speed as a reading?
Is there any way I could downgrade my BIOS? I tried to flash it and the older versions are not recognized.
Tried clearing the CMOS by pressing and holding the button on the back of the mobo with the PSU unplugged. Still same results.
Also, I have screen shots, but how do I attach them with the img tags?

It's actually a good thing it didn't flash. Once you update to the Ivy UEFI/BIOS and ME8, you are stuck with it unless a method is developed to be able to restore ME7, the old Sandy line of BIOS's, and both chips for boards with have dual.

My guess is the settings in CPU Features are all wrong and the root of the problem.

Does the P67A-GD55 support Wake-On-Lan?

i would like to by an MSI mainboard (specially the P67A-GD55 one) but i don't know if it Wake-On-Lan support. This feature is very important for me because i want to wake my pc from the internet. I founded nothing on the specifications. Do you have any idea? Is there an option in the UEFI to activate/deactivate Wake-On-Lan?

No display at all. Its like a PC run for like 0.5-1 seconds with fans starting and its stop and again and again in a loop. Also there are only 1st led on mb.
What bios has to be flash with spi programator if i want r9 280x + i5 2500k with oc ? Official 4.3 is fine or better beta 4.43 or something else ? I was using msi official update from support page, i guess thats why it breaks my mobo. But it all went sucessfull, i guess when i put ivy then its gonna work ?
