P67A-GD55 Rev B3, When a new bios including Intel Raid Oprtion Rom 10.6.0.1091

P67A-GD55 Rev B3, When a new bios including Intel Raid Oprtion Rom 10.6.0.1091 ?
Hello,
I am the owner of a MSI motherboard P67A-GD55 (Rev B3).
The operating system Windows 7 Pro 64 bit is installed on a disk in AHCI OCZ Vertex 3120 Go SATA0 mounted on the port (version 3).
I get many bugs and blue screens.
This would be resolved with the latest driver Intel Rapid Storage Technology 10.6.0.1022.
It must been associated with a bios with the Intel RAID Option ROM 10.6.0.1091.
The latest bios for my motherboard is 1.E (or 1.14) version which includes Intel RAID Option ROM 10.5.0.1034.
Are there plans to release a new bios with the new ROM?
If not, is there a way to include the last Intel Option Rom in the bios 1.E?
Thank you in advance for your reply.
SM

What bugs and blue screens?
If this was a major issue as such, then everyone would be complaining about this.

  • P67A GD55 Rev B - Upgrade Bios Question

To be honest, this post supposed to be a private message to Svet, but turned out a newbie like me who just joining the forum is not allowed to send PM...so apology if this questions are being asked so many times already:
    Dear svet,
Really need your help in clarifying something, to make it short here are my questions:
First here are my PC Specifications:
    MSI P67A-GD55 rev B
    Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB XMP Enabled
    PSU Corsair X750W
    Intel Sandy Bridge i5 2500k
    OS Windows 7 x64
    1. I have upgraded my GD55 rev B bios to the latest bios available here: msi.com/product/mb/P67A-GD55--B3-.html#/?div=BIOS
which foolishy I didn't read the warn that it will not work proeperly for Sandy Bridge
    2. The bios update/flash was a success, now I have the ver II click bios, completely different with the first version. With this bios I managed to OC to my previous OC speed (4.2GHz in OC Setting by changing it into 42 multiplier and set the Vcore to 1.35)
    3. The reason that I updated my bios in the first time was I often experience 0x50 error while gaming certain games, and I thought upgrading bios is one of the solutions for it (after trying to change my RAM, changing my GPU, and my PSU to no avail)
    4. Then I stumble to this post of yours: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=164135.0
with some fix in the 434 version states like this: "05.Fix system reset on 0x55 issue when use Sandy Bridge G440 CPU and install two 4G memory."
I am completely not sure whether this is related to my 0x50 BSOD or not, but really hoping that it is.
So my question is, should I upgrade/downgrade to your first post BIOS? (E7681IMS.434) or should I upgrade/downgrade to the latest beta 439 Bios (E7681IMSv439.rar) as the fix in 434 are included in 439?)
Thank you so much in advance for any help...
    Regards,

While waiting for Svet to respond, I will tell you that BSOD 050 is not enough DRAM V. being applied. It's rather a shame you didn't open a thread in the regular part of the forum, or the OC section of the forum asking for assistance 'before' flashing an Ivy support UEFI/BIOS.
That CPU is most likely capable of OC'ing to 42X easily on Auto CPU voltage while maintaining all the power saving features. VDroop set to Low or 100% depending on the available settings.
What is X.M.P. setting the DRAM V. at? If 1.50v's, to solve your BSOD, probably would have just required raising the DRAM V. to about 1.575v's or maybe even less manually. Rather than using X.M.P., the DRAM Frequency setting could have been changed manually to 1600.
Yes, all newer final or Beta versions will have previous release improvements incorporated.
Thank you for the reply...forget to delete the "dear Svet" part as it was copied from once private message intended
To be honest, I see myself rather as a silent reader than an active poster...so I would really try to avoid posting due to English isn't my first language....if that even make sense...
I think I have read quite a lot of 0x50 BSOD (CTD errors to be exact) in other forums to...have tried what people had posted as solutions for them...and still to no avail, hence my foolish and rushed attempt in flashing the bios...please do mind that the current bios is quite stable in my opinion, despite the same BSOD (CTD) in the certain game I have mentioned in my first post...
I have followed OC guide and benchmark in other forum which show each of its poster their OC settings and result (specifically i5 2500k series), and I have tried around 1 week to safely say that my unfortunate chip can only handly a stable 24/7 4.2GHz in that volt...i'm so lucky
and for XMP volt, I have no idea to be honest, I just enable it in the bios, will really look at it later on...
tl'dr thank you so much for the new insight of how to solve the 0x50! really appreciate it....If i can remember correctly, I have tried to use the default DRAM setting (without using XMP enabled) and still got the 0x50 CTD....but trying your suggestion is still a worth a try...will try this when I get home...thank you!

  • MSI P67A-GD55 : when a new bios ?

    About MSI P67A-GD55 :
When will we have a new bios with a new OROM and improved compatibility with other DDR3 and SSD.
I have issues (BSODs) with 2 kinds of SSD : OCZ Vertex 3 and CRUCIAL M4.

What is your current UEFI/BIOS Version?
What memory modules are you using?
Latest UEFI/BIOS Release can be found here:

It already includes a new Option ROM Version.

  • P67A-GD55, long reboot when overclocking

Hi, I have the P67A-GD55 with an i5 2500k and the problem arises when I overclock: changing the vcore or the multiplier (with or without turbo, it doesn't matter) makes the system unable to reboot (in windows or save and reboot in the bios). It sits there doing nothing and the monitor off and the only way to "continue" is to press the power button for a few seconds. It's very annoying. What causes that?
    Rest of the system:
    Intel i5 2500k @ 4.3 (1.22v) done in bios
    MSI P67A-GD55 BIOS 1.E, 7/SP1 64 bit
    Corsair AX750 +12v@62A, +5v@25A, +3.3v@25A
    G.SKILL Ripjaws X F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL
    Powercolor Radeon HD 5850
    SB Audigy 2ZS
    Vertex 2 60Gb
    WD 1Tb Blue
    Seagate 320Gb
    Samsung SH-B123L
    Corsair 650D

I don't want and won't let it on auto; the voltage was 1.3 and the temps rose also which I don't want.
In that case, is 1.22v's enough to make the system 100% stable at 43X under 'all' load requirements? There is a tradeoff here. CPU V. on Auto will preserve some power saving features & throttling. Setting manual will lock & fix the CPU V. & might not supply enough in a high CPU demand spike if not set high enough. What unsatisfactory CPU temp are we talking about at 1.3v's? Using the same CPU regardless of the mainboard it is on, will most likely net the same results. To run at a given speed, a CPU needs '?' amount of voltage.

  • Satellite A60-173 Trouble when install new bios

I have a A60-173 notebook and it doesnt run well. I tried to upgrade my bios to the latest version( which i downloaded from Toshiba's home site). But it took too long to write a new bios(about 1 hour), then i thought the program is not responding and i did a silly thing that i turned the power off. Now, my notebook 's dead, no light, no thing happends when i turn it on. What should i do? I wonder if PCservice(from the store i bought my laptop) can help me to fix it.
    Im so worried bout it

Thanks a lot for ur fast feedback. My notebook hasnot run well since i bought it. A lot of programs are often "not responding". Sometimes, I just cant do things like copy or moving files, even they are not in use.My Graphic driver couldnt run properly, sometimes, it stopped working and appeared a message on the screen that the graphic driver has stopped working normally. I tried to uninstall the driver then reinstall it, but no use.
I got in Toshiba.co.uk to search for solution and they recommmended me to update my bios..then i downloaded bios version 1.9 and run it...then my computer could never start again
I sent my notebook to Pcservicecall( a service of PC world store to fix their products) to get repaired. My friend told me that its no use, cuz my laptop's bios has been damaged and no one can fix it...im so worried cuz i just have it for 4 months, i dont wanna pay for another laptop

When will you guys be releasing a new bios for the K8N Neo Platinum that fixes the issues with false CPU temperature readings? As far as I know, none of the beta bioses that are out right now fix that particular issue. I have an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (Clawhammer). My temperatures have ranged anywhere from 60C to 184C, it's obvious that these temperatures are wrong because the computer would should itself down somwhere around 75C. I am also sure the the CPU heatsink is seated correctly as I have reseated it many times. I took a look around on your forums and also noticed that I am not the only one having these problems as tons of people with Clawhammer and Newcastle cores are having the same problem. Is there an estimated release date for a fix on this?
    Thanks, Alex
And this is what I got back:

    Dear Alex,
Thank you for contacting MSI Technical Support.
The CPU temperature is different and there is tolerance difference between the data showed and the real temperature according to the CPU model and type and even produce date and manufactory . And this MB supports thermal protection function, it will prevent the MB and CPU from overheating. So please don't worry about the temperature.
We have tested various CPU with newcastle core in our lab but we can't find the same problem. We'll keep checking with AMD and contact them to get more different CPU to analyse it futher together with them. New BIOS will released right now if we have some findings and figure out the sloution. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Thanks for your supporting MSI product.  Please feel free to let us know if you still have any further issues or inquires.
    Best regards,

  • Dv9000 overheats when on new bios (f.40 or f.42)

    Hi,
I have a Pavilion dv9000 (ew680av)  I have had numerous issues with it around overheating and of course 'the hinge'  I have had the cpu complex replaced as well as the bluetooth 'stuff'  My current issue is that I am on f.3e bios right now.  when I upgrade to f.40 or the current f.42 bios, the i notice right away that the cpu starts running hot (to hot).  I do not use the laptop for anything heavy (no gaming or anything) and in anycase, f.3e seems ok.  I was running windows xp on it but I am now running SUSE Linux and it seems to make no difference, I don't think this has anything to do with the OS.  i have now backed down to f.3e but why should I have to????
Has anyone else experienced this?  Is there anything I can do to make the current bios behave?

    hi,
I wanted to let you know that i talked to many hp engineers(so called).  most knew nothing...some were very frustrating.  But i did get one to tell me that the issue might be that f40 and f42were ment ONLY for Vista.  if you try to use those with xp, the unit will overheat.  i have resolved to just leave a pre f40 bios on it and live with it
    hope this helps.

  • Airport Express is shutting off when running newer firmwares including the latest 7.6.1

    Hi All,
My Airport Express has started shutting off in the past month or so after upgrading to the newer firmwares 7.6 & 7.6.1
When the Airport Express shuts off, the status light goes dark and the only way to reset it is to unplug it, wait a few seconds and then plug it back in.
After I plug the unit back in, it works for maybe 15 to 20 minutes and shuts off again.
I googled the problem and I have noticed that others are having similar problem. Some people say that the hardware is failing or has failed. Others have mentioned resetting the unit to defaults and or downgrading the firmware.
So I reset my unit to factory, but it didnt seem to help and the unit still kept turning off.
Next I tried downgrading the firmware.
I tried looking for a way to downgrade using the new Airport Utility on my Mac thats running Lion. However i could not find such and option. So i found the older version (AirPort Utility 5.6) on Apples website that would allow me to do the fimware downgrade.
After installing the older version I managed to find the firmware downgrade function in Manual Setup. I downgraded the firmware to Version 7.3 (the oldest one I could choose). Once the unit has flashed itself it rebooted and came up in the Airport Utility. However It wouldnt allow me to configure the airport. The configuration options wouldnt load at all. This was fixed by resetting the unit to default. After it came back up I managed to set it up to how I had it before.
And since then its been running problem free without any hiccups for the past two days!!
My question is, has anyone seen this before? What could this be? Did Apple release the wrong firmware for my Airport Express Hardware? Did my Airport Express Flash the newer firmware imporperly? Were the settings from the old firmware incompatible with the newer firmware? Is the newer firmware causing the Aiport Express to oveheat or run out of spec? Or does Apple simply not put much effort into testing the firmware updates that it releases?
It would be nice if the Airport Express would flash a colored light instead of shutting down completely if something firmware/software related is causing the unit to crash or overheat.
I would like to know if anyone else has dealt with this problem.

    Two likely possibilities:
    1) An internal electronic component is on the verge of failure. It works until it gets hot, at which point it changes value and causes a shut down of the device.
    2) An internal connector is right on the verge of losing contact. When the device heats up, heat expansion causes a loss of physical contact.
I assume that the Express is out of warranty. It is a real longshot, but you might try to carefully saw open the AirPort Express along the center seam to split the case in half to expose the internal electronics. There might be something obvious.....but unfortunately, more likely not.
Chances are, you will need to replace the device.

  • P67A-GD55 (B3) new 1.15 BIOS ERROR

    Hi
I am owner of MSI P67A-GD55 (B3) motherboard. My system configuration is:
Intel Core i5-2500K (not overclocked, turbo mode is off) (water cooled)
    Gigabyte GV-R695OC-1GD 1.0 graphics card
    4 x 4 GB Corsair Memory (Part Number: CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9)
Corsair 90GB SDD Force III HDD + 1TB Samsung HDD
    Sound blaster X-Fi gamer
I was using latest 1.14 (1.E0) BIOS version. I have Microsoft Sidewinder mouse and sometimes I had problems with my mouse. Yesterday I saw that you released new version of BIOS 1.15 which improves compatibility with gaming mouse. Without wasting time – I’ve download new 1.15 BIOS version – copy it to my booted Pen Drive. After restart system, I’ve booted form USB drive and uploaded new version of BIOS. Everything was fine till restart. System turned on for about 1,5 second, after that computer turned off. It happened every time. I’ve tried to clear CMOS by clicking on the „clear CMOS Button” on Back Panel. But it didn’t help. My computer turned on for 1,4 s and turned off. I’ve tried to “Clear CMOS Jumper”  with JBAT1 jumper. But it also didn’t help. I was really pissed off. I have been uploaded BIOS for long time and I never had problems like this. I thought that I would have to return motherboard to my store. But I tried something else. I’ve put out one of my memory module (form DIMM4), suddenly my computer turned off. So I’ve enter into BIOS and set everything to default. Everything was fine. I’ve restart system, booted up. After that I’ve turned off and put in my memory module and …………. my system turned on for 1,5 s after that turned off. I was really pissed. I’ve tried with others memory slots. DIMM1, 2, 3 – and it worked OK – but with DIMM4 for was error. So I’ve download 1.E (1.14) BIOS version and upload it. Now everything is working fine (with 4 memory modules loaded) but I have still problems with my mouse. There is some problem with this 1.15 BIOS version with 4 modules loaded – or just with Corsair memory. Does anybody had the same problem?

  • P67A-GD55 (B3) bios update to Ivy Bridge, question regarding PCIe-3

    Hi,
Ive just updated my P67A-GD55 (B3) to the 4.0 BIOS for Ivy Bridge and I am a little confused as to whether of not I will be able to benfit from PCIe-3 support on a Ivy Bridge CPU?
I intend to run 2 x GTX 680 in SLI, will I still be limited to PCIe-2 of can my board now take advantage of PCI-e 3?
    Many thanks in advance.

For PCI-E 3.0, a Z68 G3 series mainboard with an Ivy CPU would be needed at the minimum. So far, you are not really missing anything anyway. PCI-E 3.0 doesn't seem to be reported as providing all that much of a performance benefit with current apps, programs, and games.
Having tested GTX 680 on the P67, I must say it is in itself running PCI-E 2.0 very impressive.

  • When will a new BIOS for K7N2G-LISR be released

Anyone have any idea when a new BIOS for the K7N2G-LISR will be released or if a new beta bios is available :D

I have a BIOS bug for MSI.
I can't disable the tv-out function.  Therefore I can't watch any DVD's.  I have to take out my G3 to enable me to adjust the onboard GFX settings and there is no option to disable tv-out as described in the manual.
I have emailed MSI and their tech support are either extremely busy or completely useless like their software.
This is completely driving me up the fecking wall!!!
I love MSI hardware but I have to avoid any MSI software like the plague... unfortunately the BIOS is unavoidable.
MSI, please sort this or I will be forced to return my hardware and look for another brand.  I'm considering ABIT so be warned.
Could we draw up a list of bugs to give to MSI so we can try and get them sorted?
Sorry for the ranting, but theres not much I can do.  :(
