OP : Windows 7 Home Premium 64bits
So here's my problem.
I've bought this Computer about two week ago, assembled it myself, for the first week i had no problem at all. After that the computer would sometimes, pretty often, crash and restart on it's on. When windows would be open again i would get a message telling me that it was a bluescreen, i was never able to go and look at the minidump cause each time my computer would crash again before i could reach it.
I updated all the driver i could, did as much Windows update i could, the problem persist. Seeing as i even formated and reinstalled windows i think i can say that's not the problem.
Now, i'm at the point where i can't even do anything cause the last time it crashed i lost my screen, it's all black. I can see from the MOBO that all the light for the CPU are On and i can hear the fan, but nothing else seems to happen, i tried to plug-in my speaker so that i could hear the Windows Sound when it's done loading, but nothing.
Now i'm wandering about the next step ? How do i confirm which of my component is the problem ?
Thanks for the help.
What i was doing while it crashed ? Nothing, just browsing.

Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately i don't have another Computer to test with, i've got to use a friend's laptop to post here.

When in the OS, uncheck Automatically Restart in the Settings of Startup & Recovery. Then the BSOD will remain visible long enough to get the Stop: error code.
Well i can't reach the OS. If i'm ever able to reach it though i will do it. Is this something that i show Always do, unchecking the Automatic Restart and never checking it again ?

Clear CMOS and test with just 1 piece of RAM. Run it for a week to see if there is any issues.
Will try this.

In that message box, there is a button that allows you to expand the dialog to see the detail. That contains the BSOD code.
Yeah i already knew about this, problem is whenever i would expand the window it seemed to me that the Computer would restart faster, not giving me enough time to save that code.
Thanks again everyone.
Strange that you're suspecting the PSU, my 12v Rail should be strong enough, my first guess would have been the MOBO since i crashed in bios.

A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.

  • 1/3 of the screen shows nothing but black

I searched all over the internet, and I am afraid I am the only person who has encountered this problem.
I was watching a movie through air video, and the video freezes. When I hit the home button, 1/3 of the screen is still showing the frozen frame of the movie. No matter what I do, that section of the screen continues to show the frozen frame.
I turn the iPad off then back on, that section now is completely black. The iPad works fine except for that section showing nothing.
I have gone into general settings and reset, and I have held home and the lock button to reset as well. Nothing has worked.
How can this be? Did the application fry the video connection or the display? It seems quite impossible for an application to affect hardware this way. I am also overseas in a country where the iPad has not been released yet, I feel very helpless. Please help.

Next try is to connect to your computer and do a wipe and restore. First try restoring from you backup (iTunes makes one automatically). If that does not fix it do a wipe and restore to factor new configuration without any apps or dat/files installed to see if it works that way. If that does not work, make an appointment at an Apple store or call Apple Care.

  • Equium A300D-16C turns on but the screen shows nothing/stays black

Hi there, I have a Toshiba Equium A300D-16C laptop.
    It was fine until now...
When I press the power button, my laptop turns on but the screen remains black / off.
HDD indicator doesn't flash or anything ... ( in case this helps )
I've also tried to remove the battery, hold the power button for 30s and plug the power cord back in... Same thing laptop turns on but screen is black.
I tried to connect my laptop to my PC's monitor using HDMI cable but no success... Laptop turned on but my pc's monitor was showing nothing.
I haven't changed anything inside my laptop or unscrewed it.
    PS:
I quite often kept my laptop on the bed/pillow so it may have something to do with overheating or something.
How did I get to this point:
Yesterday my laptop was fine, there was nothing wrong with it... I switched it off at night but when I tried to switch it back on this morning that's where I faced this problem.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Many thanks,
    Rejanu.

    Hello
    > I tried to connect my laptop to my PC's monitor using HDMI cable but no success... Laptop turned on but my pc's monitor was showing nothing.
Its very good that you have this test with an external monitor because so you could make sure its not related to internal monitor and its working properly.
Well, you have tried a lot so my personal opinion is its a serious hardware malfunction It could be related to mainboard or CPU in my opinion
I think such hardware diagnostic can only be done from an authorized service provider. I think you should contact the guys. They can help you to get rid of this problem :)

  • HT1414 I just tried to update to IOS 7 but after it completed, my iphone screen shows nothing but a USB cord and the iTunes Logo even when connected. Help Please!

Today I was updating my phone to the newest IOS 7 and after it finished downloading. An error showed up on my screen telling me it was unable to update. So I decided to just unplug my phone and maybe do it later but on my screen I have a USB cord and the iTunes logo asking me to connect. So I hooked it back up and still at this point my iTunes will not connect and when I unplug the phone the screen stays the same. I have tried turning off the phone and restarting and both times the screen goes back to the connect  screen.. How can I fix this?

I have tried the steps to fix it but no solution! Please someone tell me what to do!

  • I can turn my macbook on, but the screen shows nothing!!!

I closed my laptop yesterday night, without shutting it down, and every thing was OK.
Today, i opened it, and nothing shows up, i thought the battery is empty so i plugged it to the power, also, nothing shows up.
I removed the battery and re plugged it, tried to turn it on, then i heard the CD ROM working as usually, and nothing appears on scree.
Is it a technical problem with no reason, or what!
I have to solve it soon.

  • Which means when the iphone is working and doing normal noises but the screen shows nothing?

my phone is making normal noises, such as vibrate to connect with the charger, the noise of Blocking and unlock, but the screen is all black

    Hi https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6267396,
If you are having an issue with your iPhone giving you a black screen, I would suggest that you follow the steps in this article -
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
    Specifically -
Display has no backlight or dark screen
Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
If the low-battery screen appears, charge the iPhone.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Brett L

  • PXI 8184 system boots up - shows nothing on screen

    Hi All,
I recently found our NI PXI-8184 in our company and I wanted to test if we can use the device for our testing purposes.
The first time, I got to its BIOS. I saw the system date was resetted to 1988. I did make some changes on boot options, saved and exited bios. I was able to loging WindowsXP and run LabView.
After turning off the unit, unplug power cable. I removed the PXI-8184 to check on its battery. I found its bios battery voltage is 0 (technically no charge). I got a new battery (3V) and plugged into the system.
Once the power is turned on, there is nothing showing on screen, only black screen. The power LED is ON, LED lights for ethernet cable are ON (one is solid, one is blinking), the Drive LED is off (the hard drive is not even accessed). I checked the hard drive with my external encloser, it seems everything is ok. I can read files from hard drive from my laptop through an external encloser.
I suspect there is something wrong with BIOS. I did reset BIOS by moving jumper to a new location and setting it back to its original place.
The screen shows nothing on bootup, I think the bios is not even loaded.
Any help/inputs to help me to solve this problem would be helpful. Thanks for your replies and inputs.
PS: The Switch Configuration at the moment is Switch1 is ON position (Boot LabView RT) and other switches are in OFF positions

Yes. That was the only change. With the old battery (zero charge voltage), same behavior with black screen.
I am not sure whether or not the last bios save did have affect on bios firmware (may some corrected parts of firmware ? )
    Thanks for your reply.

  • Blank Screen and flashing cursor on new build-P67A GD65 (B3). Help needed.

As per the title, a computer was built for me with the following specs:
    CPU: Intel Core i5 2500k
Cpu Cooler: Arctic Freezer xtreme Rev 2.0,
    Motherboard: MSI P67A – GD65 (B3)
    PSU: Super-Flower Amazon 550W
    RAM: 4GB G.Skill RipJaws-X, DDR3, 1600
    HDD: 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 7200rpm
Graphics Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 Xtreme - 1 GB GDDR5
    Disc Drive: Samsung SH-223C DVD+RW
Case: Cooler Master 690 II LITE Midi-Tower
    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
Everything went ok with the build and installation of the OS. Computer was booting ok. When I took the computer home that evening, powered it on and a blank screen with a flashing cursor on top left hand corner appeared. Tried several times but failed to boot up properly. Just to note that I can enter into the BIOS and it recognizes HDD, processor, Disk Drive and RAM. What I have done so far (of course with advice from computer experts as compared to me) are the following:
    1. I removed all the parts except cpu and cooler then put them back. When I restarted a message appeared that win7 need to do a repair. It went thro the process and then it stated it can’t do repair. Did this twice. When I restarted the third time, a blank screen with the blinking cursor appeared again.
    2. Cleared the BIOS using the button on the outside of the motherboard and also once using the jumpers inside the motherboard. After doing this, I pressed on the “”ON” button several times (with no power on to the computer) to dissipate any current that was left there.
    3. Interchanged the RAM on different slots. Also tried using only 1 stick of Ram at a time.
    4. Checked the HDD on another machine and it was ok. Formatted the HDD on the other machine, plugged onto new machine and tried to install OS again but no joy.
At this point, I’m now stuck after almost a month when the machine was built. Would it be the motherboard? RAM? etc. Just wondering if I should RMA the motherboard since it is just over a month when it was delivered.
A point to note, there is a message that comes up when it is booting stating no HDD is detected. I googled this but found out it was to do with a marvel adapter that needs to be disabled or something like that. However, it was mentioned that this wasn’t going to affect the performance of the pc as the BIOS can detect all the components.
I also noticed that when I switch on the pc, there is a small pause before it kicks on then there is a long beep followed by 2 small beeps. I presume this is normal.
Any help on this will be highly appreciated?

Disable EuP 2013 & that should take care of the pause. The beeps are normal at startup. Only time I have observed a blank screen & blinking cursor is if the system wasn't getting enough juice to initialize, or their was insufficient power in an OC attempt. What kind of +12V amps does that PSU you have provide?

  • Since itunes 2.0.4 has been downloaded. My ipod doesn't synchronize properly/ at all.The LED screen shows  "copy 1 or 2 from 101" and it will remain like that. It looks like sync but there's nothing to happen. It doesn't stop by it self. How to solve?

It looks like sync but nothing is happening. The sync doesn't stop by itself. Is there anybody to solve this problem? In previous versions never a problem.

I have exactly the same issues with my new 80G iPOD. I have found that when connecting to my PC, the iPOD does not start iTUNES 7. This can be resolved by stopping the iPOD Service in Computer Management, connecting the iPOD and then starting it again. Then when you start iTUNES it finds the iPOD. - http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93716
Seems like a stupid long-winded way to do things, but at least you can get some stuff on to your iPOD.
As far as using Restore goes - I just get the restoring iPOD message you described, which it blatantly isn't :((

    Hi DaVince Vince,
I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with your iPhone. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear what issues you were having that led up to the attempted Erase All, and/or exactly what behavior you are seeing now (restarting, not responding at all, etc). If you are seeing an Apple Logo screen and your iPhone does not appear to be starting correctly, you may find the following articles helpful:

Sounds like your iPod is in restore mode. Connect it to iTunes. iTunes will pop a little message up saying that your iPod is in restore mode and asking you if you want to restore it, click yes. Your iPod will restore to factory settings and you will be given the chance to restore from a backup. You can do this or set it up as a new iPod.
Here is Apple's page on restoring your iPod.

    Hope that helps.
