P67A-GD65 BIOS Recovery/Reflash...is it even possible?

Had a weird issue take out my P67A-GD65 last week so I replaced it with a Z77A-GD65. However, I'd like to see if it's possible to recover/reflash the corrupted BIOS on the dead board before I break the board up and make keychain fobs from the shiny bits.
Background:
BIOS flash process went fine. Seemingly so, anyway. After rebooting, however, it's stuck in a loop and never makes it to the POST/BIOS screen. It powers on for about 4-5 seconds, then off, then back on, then off again, repeat Ad nauseam

In the BIOS Section of the forum, you will find Beta's along with some full releases for some mainboards in the Beta threads.
If you do not intend to install an Ivy CPU, it is strongly recommended to only install Sandy UEFI/BIOS's.
If lucky, remove the PSU power cord, remove all but one RAM stick that is placed in the primary DIMM slot, remove the battery for awhile, clear CMOS, hope it will POST and/or boot. If it won't, a pc shop with an SPI flash programming device can restore it for you. Otherwise, an MSI Service Center can do it.

Hi,
i just finished overclocking my system and it's working great all but for one thing. I can't enable turbo-boost anywhere in bios. I have to do it in the settingsmenu in Realtemp every time i restart the computer, its getting annoying. Any tips?

Hi, I have a trouble with a P67a-GD65(BIOS 1.7)

Maybe this is normally signals, but:
When I turn off my pc at night, windows dont loading with the first time
After POST I have black screen with blinking underscore - after reboot, windows loading is good. The same way is good loading, when I reboot PC from Windows, or turn off my pc for 10 minutes and turn on.

Hi everyone,
I've decided to post this little message after looking for a solution over the web and over the MSI forum because I've got a problem since the BIOS update of my P67A-GD65 MB.
I've followed the update process for the 4.32 BIOS using an USB key, the update started but did not continue after reboot, and since My PC is out of order
The "BIOS ME update....file not found " message is displayed after lots of booting tries, using plenty of methods.
I've looked and tried all the techniques I could find over the web, I've tried :
-PC with and without SATA drives connected
-the last 4 versions of the bios found on-line, even the original version of my MB before updating (1.19)
-4 different usb keys (from 128 Mb to 4 GB)
-all front and back usb ports
Each time, on each usb key, there were several bios versions, even one renamed to AMIBOOT.ROM for testing the recovery method.
I've also tried to make the keys bootable by using the “MSIHQ USB Bootable” tool with the 1.19 bios (after the boot fix), the usb key appears in the F11 boot menu but when I select it, the PC boots but still shows me the "BIOS ME update....file not found " message.
I've also tried a clear CMOS with several power off.
I've also tried to burn a CD containing only a AMIBOOT.ROM file, and to boot on it, but same problem occurs.
In brief, it seems that my PC does not recognize my Key's content, whatever it is.
I've you got an idea to help me ?
Last precision, the update process that failed was using the 4.3 bios version, but my CPU is a not an IvyBridge .

I've tried with your file , that's better but not solved
the "BIOS ME update....file not found" has gone but my bios is still inacessible.
I put the usb key (with the decompressed file) and the PC starts, displays the MSI boot logo, and then shows a message for hitting F1 or F2 bla bla bla...
Whatever the key that has been hit (F1 or F2, and only the first time), the pc boots again and again after displaying the boot logo, followed by a 30 seconds black screen.
If I remove the key, I've got a message that says I have to put a key on an usb port, and when I put back the usb key , the PC starts to boot again and again.
Once again , I'm stuck.

i bought a pre overclocked bundle with the below spec....with default settings i can install windows with a raid config...no sweat.
If i try OC genie(at 4.2ghz) i can get into windows fine...but 10 minutes into black ops and it blue screens.
with the OC profile provided by overclockers(4.6ghz) i can even boot into windows...it seems to struggle to recognize my raid config. i just get "machine check error" or a blinking cursor...sometimes it goes to shell command prompt.
each time i change the OC settings....i make sure raid is reselected and my boot options are reselected.....1/ HD 2/dvd.
ive been chatting with overclockers for a week now...and they seem to keep recommending the same things....then suggest trying a different drive setup. Which im confused by...i dont see the point in trying with IDE or AHCI....if ultimatly im aiming for raid 0 config??

(P67A-GD65) BIOS update worked but now ACPI dead?

Hi guys, anyone seen this before?
P67A-GD65(b3) + i5 2500K + G Skill Ripjaws 1600 + MSI GTX560 (all about 1 week old)
Did a successful BIOS update to 1.B (which is what the AU msi site listed as latest BIOS, I now realise that 1.C is out).
Everything seems fine in BIOS but Win7 hangs at "Starting Windows" (regular boot, repair boot, even the install setup boot from disc).
Booting from a Linux cd it hangs at the ACPI part.
System was perfectly stable prior to this (but my mouse didn't work in BIOS and XMP timings didn't seem to be applied, hence the update).
BIOS update was done using forum USB tool. CMOS has definitely been cleared.
Any suggestions? I am probably going to try updating to BIOS 1.C but since I don't have a working PC now (posting this from our iMac) I will have to go use a friend's PC to run the USB tool and create the BIOS update stick.

basically, as the title says.
if I flash the BIOS on my MSI P67A-GD65, will it delete all of the OC profiles? or will all of the previous settings be kept?
also, what is the best, stable BIOS to date?
I'm tired of the irritating RAM issues with the older BIOS I'm using so I've decided enough is enough and I'm going to update it, provided my OC profiles and settings won't be deleted.

Previous settings are maintained, but only guaranteed to work with your previous BIOS so use on a new version at your own risk as may cause unexpected results.
I do find this useful though as you can refer back to previous settings when duplicating for the new BIOS settings.
Don't forget to clear the CMOS whenever updating the BIOS too before applying new settings.
Best stable BIOS is the subject of much discussion. 1C was the last one that allowed O/C over 4.9GHz, 1FB5 was the last one that supported my config with an OCZ Revo as boot device (at less than 4.9GHz). 1E was the first one that supported my RAM @2133MHz out of the box....

P67A-GD65 bios update

My P67A-GD65 came with bios 1.4. I'm having some problems with memory, and am hoping that 1.7 fixes it.
When I update to 1.7, I can't save any changes to the bios, it just hangs. Fortunately, I was able to downgrade back to 1.4 (thankfully I saved it first).
Anyone else have this issue? No a way to fix it?
I'm thinking about returning this MOBO because of all the issues I'm having with it.

Z77A-GD65 BIOS recovery

I attempted to update the BIOS to rev A8 (previous version was A6) using M-Flash.
The update failed and the board no longer boots from BIOS A
Switching to BIOS B lets the board boot properly.
How can I repair the A BIOS ?
System Config is :
MB: Z77A-GD65 (MS-7751)
CPU: QuadCore Intel Core i7-3770K, 3700 MHz (37 x 100) at stock frequency
RAM: 4 x G Skill F3-1600C9-8GAR (32451 Mo (DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM) for system memory (32 GB minus HD4000 video memory))
Graphic card: None

P67a-GD65 BIOS v4.1

What is the correct way to flash this BIOS. I followed the included instructions and it bricked my board, I had to RMA it. I just got the replacement and it's at BIOS v1.19\v1.J so what is the correct way to upgrade. Thanks.

Upgrade to what? Yes, it will give you Click BIOS II, but what else with a P67? How much time does one spend in the BIOS? The Z68 G3's can benefit a little bit with PCI-E 3.0, but not much. You want an upgrade? Put a 2700k in it and keep the v1.19 UEFI/BIOS.

Hi Svet, yes - I used the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher.. along with all of the instructions given in the guides, including clearing the CMOS afterwards.
When I go back to 1.4, everything works again. I get the save issue in both 1.6 and 1.7b4 - the mouse freezes and the computer just sits there until hard reset.
I want 1.7b4 for the pll overvolt fix.. at the moment I can't get past 4.2 ghz with i7-2600k and a high perf noctua cooler, fairly sure it is not the cpu/temp/volts holding me back.
I also have a very strange issue in the bios is reporting my CPU as running at 20 GHz (which it clearly isn't) - although windows cpuz reports the correct speed. A very similar issue for my DRAM speeds, they are also reported as being something extremely high in the bios but are correct in cpuz.
There is also an issue with turning off spread spectrum in 1.6/1.7 - when I do this, the bios hangs (same way as it hangs when trying to save in 1.6/1.7, mouse freezes and have to hard reset).
In short quite a number of issues here.

Yes, was also a problem in v1.D. MSI are aware... You can still navigate the BIOS using the keyboard.

Please, could you post your settings. I find OC on 4.0 BIOS much more difficult. With the old one, my i5 2500K was running 4,3 GHz 1.28V.

The difficulty I experienced was mainly with the RAM and the CPU IMC of the Ivy. Since you are using a Sandy, that shouldn't be a problem. The Ivy update does cause a massive drop in CPU V. when an IBT is performed. Was the BSOD 1D, 7E, 050, or 124? I would recommend the Turbo method of OC. Here are the basics;

P67a GD65 restarting on startup.

I've had my p67a GD65 for about two years. Last month it began having problems. Sometimes, when I turn the computer on, the system fans and lights will come on for about 1-2seconds, then the computer will shutoff, and come back on. Usually when this happens, it will successfully start up the second time. Occasionally, it will be stuck in a continuous reboot. I saw on some other forums that a lot of people were having this issue with this motherboard, some people reporting that they had to get it replaced three times. Is it just a cheaply made motherboard?
My BIOS is updated to the latest sandy bridge version (1.19) and I have reflashed it to several versions and it wont help.
I have already tried running memtest, and it shows no memory errors.
I have tried using only one stick of ram instead of two, and swapping them, and the issue still occurs.
I have tried clearing the CMOS with the jumper, does not help.
I have tried removing the CMOS battery for 10 minutes, does not help.
I could send it back to MSI since its still within warranty, but after hearing of people on other forums doing this only to have the issue some time later, I'm wondering if I should just get a better quality motherboard to not have to deal with the hassle.
Can anyone give me some advice?

Your processor (and mainboard) got significant damage due to that 4.5GHz for 2 years.
You need to borrow another (known good) processor and to see if the mainboard is also ok
Replacing the Corsair HX850 PSU (probably damaged too) with Antec NEO Eco 620W helps only if the processor and the mainboard are full functional.

P67A-GD65 does not boot with LSI 9240-8i HBA

Hi All,
When I installed my LSI 9240-8i I was able to boot to the ICH10 Raid as long as the Marvell Raid controller was disabled. Once I updated the LSI card to the latest version of the firmware I cant boot at all. I've cleared the CMOS, I've disabled everything in the BIOS (raid controllers, 1394, NIC, etc). All not no avail.
Thus Far I've tried:
-Booting to OS on the ICH10 RAID gets me into Windows 7 (x64): Resulted in the LSI controller showing, "This device could not start. (Code 10)" under Device Manager.
-Updating Firmware: Resulted in the mobo hanging on POST at code "92".
-Upating BIOS from 1.B to 1.C5 Beta: Resulted in mobo hanging on POST at code "92".
-When I move the card to my Dell Prescision workstation, the LSI RAID controller works like a charm!

Thats just it. It looks like its an MSI BIOS compatability issue all along. Before I upgrade the firmware, the card works in my Dell Precision Workstation, but does not work on the MSI mobo; shows Device could not start (Code 10) error. After I upgrade the Firmware, the MSI mobo will not POST, but the Dell still boots up with the card perfectly.
Its definitely NOT the card. If both the 9240 and 9260 cards work perfectly in other computers then there is something wrong with the MSI mobo or BIOS.
