What is your current UEFI/BIOS Version?
According CPU-Z its V1.8 what seems to be newest "stable" one when i taked a look in MSI site, well there might be some beta version thru forums but i never been that much of an fan of those, mostly those just creates new issues. Also few other questions i have is that is it normal that those 6 leds on the top of the cpu socket kinda flashes randomly, almost acts like hdd led LOL? And then what is that Intel MEI software under downloads and do i need it? Atm i only have chipset, network, sound and gfx drivers installed.

  • P67A-GD65 - Mouse inverted in UEFI bios

I just installed a MSI P67A-GD55 and the mouse is inverted in the bios.  I figured it just needed a bios update but that did not fix it.  I read somewhere that it is a known problem with a Raser mouse (I own a Razer Deathadder). Does anyone have the same problem and/or know of a fix.  Thanks.

I submitted a ticket as instructed by the mod.
If that was directed my way, I am just an MSI product user like you. The Admins & Mods do a great job here, & I doubt I would have the patience they often exhibit, & certainly 'do not' have the overall experience & knowledge necessary. I hope a resolution to the mouse compatibility is found soon.

  • Graphics2D Mouse pointer flickers...Why???

    Hi
I've created a graphical user interface
which overrides the update() method of a JPanel
so that I can draw my own shapes, boxes e.t.c
The repaint() method is beeing called whenever mouse moves around(that means all the time)
Though I've used double buffering and the animation of my drawings is smooth , mouse pointer flickers all the time.
What must I do to avoid it???
    Thanks...

  • Msi p67a-gd65 mouse and keyboard freeze - blinking caps lock.

As the title says, my mouse and keyboard suddenly froze while I was chatting on Skype and I noticed that my system was still running. In fact, my razer mouse light was also blinking. The caps lock had a sort of sequential blink, although I'm not sure.
Anyway, I had to use the power button to shut down the system and everything seems normal again. Does anyone know what would cause this? Is it a software issue or due to my board?
    I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate.

This was the first time this sort of thing has happened. I did have to replace (RMA) my PSU once before due to a random shut down issue but that was resolved. I'm really curious as to why this would happen and I'm hoping it's a software issue and not something related to the USB ports on the board.

  • P67A-GD65 B3 new 1.D bios problem

I updated to the newest BIOS since I was redoing my computer anyways and now my mouse only moves up and down. It works when I'm in windows but not in the BIOS itself. My mouse is a logitech G700. Am I missing something or did this BIOS mess up compatibility with my mouse?
The good thing is, I can still use my keyboard so it's not the end of the world, but it would be nice if my mouse could work in the BIOS area.
Edit: Also, what are those numbers that pop up in the bottom right corner with the blinking line in the top left, when the computer boots up.
Edit #2: I tried the 1.D2 bios as well, everything is fine except the mouse.

They are BIOS 'checkpoint' POST status codes:

Well, go back to the BIOS that worked for you then.

  • Mouse pointer flickers when moved on a pdf viewed in Safari. Any ideas ?

Same thing happens when trying to capture a screen area with Shift-Cmd-4.

I know this a weird issue so I'm not surprised I've had no reply to my question. Never the less, it is a real problem and maybe I need to file a bug report with Adobe. What would be the best way to do that?
Also, looking at this again, could it be anything to do with the fact that the Mac that has this issue with Acrobat XI is running OS X 10.6.8?

I think you failed at disconnect the power while in loop.
Because of was the same as me, infinite loop like 4~5 times and after continued to install.
Here for an explanation look at page 4 > http://event.msi.com/mb/22nm/Bios_ME7_to%20_ME8_update_SOP_EN.pdf
If you didnt seen this part, failed and.... I dont know what can you do at this point.
in fact the problem was after this last update mentioned on page 4 of SOP guide that you linked and that i was read ... all ... but what is strange is that i have no display error during all update .. alla goes fine ...after last reboot  ... dead.
someone can tell us what's happened? i'm not newbie about this procedures of bios update ...without any problem.

  • P67A-GD65 (B3) will not boot with external USB DVD connected.

Damnedest thing... just put the build together last night and this was the biggest issue. If I connect my external Samsung USB DVD RW the system stops booting and only displays (B3) in the bottom right corner of my display. If I remove the USB plug the system boots and operates normally. If I connect it to the USB port after boot the system recognizes it and it works fine. The same issue occurs no matter which USB2/3 port I plug it into. I've banged around the BIOS and cannot see any issues in the boot sequence that would indicate an issue. Anyone else in das same boot?

I just came to the forum for the same reason. I'm glad you had a thread already going. Mine is a Seagate 1.5T USB 2.0 hard drive and the screen reads 98 in the lower right corner. Hopefully MSI will get this fixed soon. Other than that the new system is running great.
They are working on it. They sent me a BETA BIOS to try out. The BIOS v1.10B3 was dated 3-17-2011 and it nearly bricked my system though.  Here is the response I sent to them the other night after a few hours with a massive headache trying to bring my system back up:
    Quote
Tried the new BIOS. While it did indeed fix the USB DVD boot issue and let me boot into windows it created a few new issues. After flashing the new BIOS would not recognize my old overclocking profiles from the v1.8 BIOS.. "hole" error. So I manually adjusted all the settings and saved the new settings. I copied them EXACTLY from my previous settings.. I had screenshots which I had printed out as a fool-proof guide. After rebooting I could no longer get into windows. BSOD. If I tried entering the BIOS by tapping the DEL button while booting the system would freeze at the "entering setup...." screen and never progress into the actual BIOS. I unplugged the power, waited a few minutes and held the clear CMOS button on the back panel down for a few seconds. After rebooting I no longer had video output. After much trial and error I ended up having to also unplug my LCD and cycle power on it as well to get video back. But could still bot get into the BIOS by tapping the DEL key during boot. Luckily I have a laptop with all the files on it and I was able to finally re-flash back to the v1.8 BIOS from a USB drive. I'm not sure what exactly you changed.. but I don't think this new BIOS version should leave BETA status.
To their credit they promptly responded the next AM:
    Quote
There were some changes to the CPU voltage, so your overclock settings may not work properly. We are still working on a 1.A release version. It will be updated to our website soon. http://www.msi.com/product/mb/P67A-GD65--B3-.html#/?div=BIOS
I only wish they had informed me of the changes to the CPU voltage up front or included a change log so I could have made an informed decision as to whether or not I wanted to try the BETA BIOS. I was under the impression (mistakenly) that it simply addressed the USB DVD issue. I'll wait for the new release BIOS. I can live without the external USB DVD being plugged in at boot. Bricking my MOBO and having to RMA would be a far less desirable outcome. :p That said.. I'd still recommend this MOBO. It has relatively few issues and MSI support is responsive so far.

  • Mouse pointer flashing like crazy

Since the last Flash update, Firefox crashes once or twice a day. According to the error reports sent, Flash did cause those crashes. Now there’s a new bug: the mouse pointer flickers like mad. I know it is Flash, because I killed the process in the task manager, and the mouse returned to normal. It’s not likely to be Firefox’s fault, but I thought I should still report it here to get it on record. Maybe Adobe will remedy this latest, highly buggy version of Flash.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox (you need to close and restart Firefox).
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

  • Boot Cooling Issue on MSI P67A-GD65

I luv my MSI P67A-GD65 with the 1.8b10 bios but this one has me baffled - first of all my system is controlled by a wall switch so at night I hit the switch and all power is off the system.  When I turn it on after work I hit the power button and when I go into bios the temps read 97c!.  After a restart the same thing and then on the third try temps are normal.
I have the CPU temp setting at 50c and am suspecting that the Corsair H50 pump does not have enough volts to turn over especially when it is cold.   I've been dealing with it but those high temps are kind of scary.
My Green Power CPU Power setting is APS.  Any Ideas??

Maybe the fact that by shutting off the power like like that you lose the standby power to the MB creating your problem. Do you have the same problem if you don't shut the wall switch off and just shut the PC down the normal way in Windows?
I always shut down windows first then hit the wall switch.  Tonight I'll leave the power on to the computer and will check it tomorrow after work.

  • I7-2600k and P67A-GD65 (B3) OC Vdroop voltage offset?

I'm looking to get a stable 42x OC out of my 2600k, I'm using a P67A-GD65(B3) with the latest BIOS(4.3). I currently have a 40x OC via the turbo multipliers. I want the CPU to underclock and undervolt when idle in the interest of heat and lifespan, so I want to leave the multiplier and vcore on Auto. Currently, auto vcore with this 40x OC results in 1.256V under full load. With a manual OC (multiplier and vcore), I was able to get 40x stable at 1.185V.
I understand this motherboard does not have a voltage offset function, but from my research Vdroop can do a similar thing? If I wanted to offset my vcore by -0.050V what would I set the Vdroop to?

Quote from: Chike on 30-March-15, 04:37:00
Vdroop should never be negative, but why not just vcore to whatever you want?
With EIST and c-state CPU multiplier and voltages should change according to load.
I know but with vcore on auto it uses a lot more voltage than is necessary. I want to use as little voltage as possible to keep temperatures down and have the CPU last a while.
When I manually set vcore, the CPU will underclock when idle, but voltage will stay at whatever value I set. I have all the power saving stuff, EIST, C1E, C-state, etc enabled.
My question is if it is possible to use the Vdroop function to decrease the voltage under load?

Yes, was also a problem in v1.D. MSI are aware...  You can still navigate the BIOS using the keyboard.

  • (P67A-GD65) BIOS update worked but now ACPI dead?

Hi guys, anyone seen this before?
    P67A-GD65(b3) + i5 2500K + G Skill Ripjaws 1600 + MSI GTX560  (all about 1 week old)
Did a successful BIOS update to 1.B (which is what the AU msi site listed as latest BIOS, I now realise that 1.C is out).
Everything seems fine in BIOS but Win7 hangs at "Starting Windows" (regular boot, repair boot, even the install setup boot from disc).
Booting from a Linux cd it hangs at the ACPI part.
System was perfectly stable prior to this (but my mouse didn't work in BIOS and XMP timings didn't seem to be applied, hence the update).
BIOS update was done using forum USB tool. CMOS has definitely been cleared.
Any suggestions? I am probably going to try updating to BIOS 1.C but since I don't have a working PC now (posting this from our iMac) I will have to go use a friend's PC to run the USB tool and create the BIOS update stick.
    Thanks

For a short term test, raise DRAM V. manually to the maximum 1.65v's, set CPU V-Droop to low, phase control from SVID to APS.
I did try a raised DRAM V at one point (to no success), but didn't touch phase control so could try that too.
I have found one single way to make it load windows - by flashing 1.C directly from the "M-flash" page of the BIOS itself
The on the reset directly following the update it will then boot windows correctly.
This first happened this afternoon and I rejoiced and then shutdown to reconnect all the devices that had been unplugged during diagnosis ... then when I went to boot up again ... hung ... again
Tried to get all scientific by trying voltage settings and unplugging case fans, etc ... nothing work so I gave up, did something (theoretically) foolish  and tried the M-flash page in BIOS again. Re-flashed v1.C again and once again it booted into windows
Starting to think along the lines of RMA here  ... this can't be normal.

  • P67A-gd65 boot problem after BIOS update

I'm not optimistic about this, but...
My P67A-GD65 was delivered with BIOS 1.5. (However, the stickers on both chips read 1.4.) I updated the BIOS to 1.7 using a DOS formatted USB flash drive. (The EM was updated as well.) Things seemed to be running OK.
I foolishly experimented with the 1.8A beta BIOS. I flashed from DOS again. After rebooting, I went into the settings to reconfigure the machine as it had been. The EFI screen hung, so I powered the machine down (from the button, not the PSU).
I've been unable to boot since. No display appears on the monitor. If it is powered down, the power comes back on for an instant, goes off again, and comes up again with nothing on the display. The USB keyboard and mouse never become active, as far as I can tell. I tried a PS/2 keyboard; no difference.
If this board has dual BIOS indicator LEDs, neither illuminates, which indicates that all is serene.
I have cleared the CMOS several times, using the jumper or the button at the rear I/O panel.
Any advice? Is there any way to force the use of the second BIOS? (I've read the MSI dual BIOS FAQ posted elsewhere, but didn't spot anything of use.)
    RMA time?

    Hi,
The blue screens started after a clean Bios flash to the 18b10 bios then eventually it stopped working complety (just doing the start up cycle over and over)
I had tried reseting cmos and it doesnt make a difference, the motherboard will not post , boot , start up at all so default settings cant be set (although reseting cmos would set to default anyway)
Each time the board goes through the start up cycle (i.e. upon pressing start button the board will start up with fans spinning for a second then shut down, start up again with fans spinning for a second then shut down, continuasly repeating until main power is removed) I have used a multimeter to measure the voltage read points on the board and they show that there is no vcore being suplied to the cpu but all other points show the voltage is being supplied to those componants, so imo that is where the problem lies and I would sugest that the other ppl who are having this issue to also try  measuring the voltage read points and see if the same thing is happening on thier boards .
If others are getting the same results (no vcore) then the msi techs should be informed of this issue..(imo)
1.8b10 still is a beta bios. I got random bluescreens with that one also at some point a blinking bios led. So I flashed back from secondary bios (using the first option (change disable in enable)in "security" in the EFI shell to allow flashing from secondary bios), blinking bios led now stopped, Then I flashed with 1.7, no issues sofar cpu now running stable at 4.5Ghz (already 2 days).
