P6N Diamond and X-Fi

Hi all,
I have just built a system with new components and I'm having issues with X-Fi both in Vista (64) and XP (32 and 64), the OSs sit on different partitions, Vista is the primary one.
1st problem: Vista 64 recognized hardware and installed latest and greatest drivers. Sound out works, but games do not recognize EAX capabilities.
2nd problem: XP 32 and 64 do not recognize the X-Fi on-board, they both see a PCI device but will not install the X-Fi drivers because the hardware is not recognized as .
3rd problem: I have installed an X-Fi Elite PCI and the card is not recognized by any of the 3 OSs (the slot works as the X-Fi led illuminates).
Any recommendations to get the on-board and the PCI add-on board to be recognized? Any way to reset the BIOS?
Here is the hardware snapshot:
# Intel Q6600 2.4 GHz
# MSI P6N Platinum
# 2x Patriot 2048mb PC6400 (DDR2 800)
# 2x EVGA NVidia 8800 GTS 640Mb PCIe SLI
# 4x WD 150gb 10k SATA300
# AVerTV PCIe TV card
# Creative X-Fi Elite PCI
# Microsoft Windows XP Professional 32 and 64 -bit, Vista Ultimate 64bit
# Antec TruePower Quattro 850w
Thanks in advance,
d. (A Newbie looking for assistance)

you should get the driver from MSI website here : http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1168

  • P6N Diamond and 4x1GB problems

    Hello all,
Well Ive just purchased the P6N Diamond and have transferred everything from my old Asus Commando. The only problem i have is that it wont boot with all 4 sticks of Cruciial Ballistix PC6400. It boots fine with either set in either slots so I have eliminated a damaged DIMM slot as the problem as well as faulty RAM
My question is how likely will a bios update be in fixing this problem. i have the latest bios 1.3. the rest of my specs are
    E8400
    8800GTX
    2 x 74gb raptors
Someone on another forum has also suggested raising the northbridge voltage as a possible solution, can anyone verify this as a method to get 4 x 1Gb working?
    Thank you in advance
    Sacha

    Thanks Mark,
Interesting info there, so did you have problems with 4 sticks initially and then had to raise the VTT or did it accept the 4 sticks right away?
But I seem to be having more issues and have contacted the vendor for a return. Theres cold boot issues with my two raptors on the "hardware raid" sata ports and I have to load optimized defaults (which obviously doesnt help with my overclock) just so it can see my boot drive.
Its quite frustrating for such a high end board and I will go back to my Asus Commando which had no issues whatsoever and overclocks like a demon, until I look to make the jump to DDR3 and the 790i.
    Cheers

  • Aftermarket CPU cooler to fit P6N Diamond and my new build

Hi, after my motherboard finally quit a couple weeks ago, I am starting to build my new system.  I just purchased a P6N Diamond motherboard and I'll be picking up an E6700 Core 2 Duo and I already know that I am going to overclock slightly.
With the heat pipes this board has, I'm wondering if and if so, what aftermarket CPU cooler will fit on this board.  I'm not going for a major overclock, but I would like to see 3GHz per core or slightly higher.
Also, Does anyone know what speed of RAM I should get to bump this processor up to 3GHz?  On my last setup, I used DDR 434 and ran it at speed to get the processor up from 3.0C to 3.24GHz and 3.4E to 3.67GHz (upgraded at one point).  I am still not sure on what RAM I should use yet for compatibility issues, but I guess I need to figure out the speed first.
I also just ordered my video card today as well.  I went with a EVGA eGeforce 8800GTX Superclocked card.  Later on down the road when the price comes down, I'll pick up another to run SLI.  From what I read on MSI's website, SLI (with the P6N Plat) doesn't support SLI in Vista... Is this true with the board, or will it be a driver/BIOS issue that can be fixed later?
The computer this is replacing is my HTPC.  I used and will again use this thing for just about everything.  I regularly watch movies, record/watch TV, listen to music, play games, etc.  I have it hooked up to a 40" flat panel LCD HDTV and have loved running and HTPC since I bought the TV in December.  Hopefully this next system lives up to what I'm hoping it will be.

The GeminII cooler may not fit. But the Tuniq is also too heavy IMO.
I would pick this; it has good clearance and is one of the best coolers on the market. Except for this obviously.
But it's all down to personal preference.
I really like the Thermalright SI-128 SE that you recommended.  My last Thermalright was able to cool my 3.4E @ 3.7GHz processor down when my old Zalman could not.  Do you know if this will fit?  I'm not sure the larger Thermalright will fit in my case...
Another option I was thinking about is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118019

  • MSI P6N Diamond and very slow BIOS menus

I'm having problems with my new setup. My setup is as follows:
MSI P6N Diamond with 1.1 bios update
    2 x OCZ Platinum Revision 2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ2P800R22GK
XION Supernova XON 600W Power Supply
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (not overclocked yet, having problems whenever I change settings)
EVGA  GeForce 8800GTS 640MB Video Card
I'm running Vista 32bit fine as far as I can tell, everything is pretty snappy and other programs are running fine, but the machine is very slow to post and running the bios menus is a painful process as it takes about 2-4 seconds to switch selections. I tried running the board with 1 stick of ram in slot 1, with slots 1 & 3 and all 4 and it made no difference. I had a USB card reader plugged in and then removing it seemed to make a difference for a while, the BIOS menus ran as I expected, very snappy. Also anytime I switch the CPU clock from automatic to manual the computer won't post and i have to reset the bios
Anyone have a clue what could be causing this slowness and my inability to overclock the cpu?

I will be getting the Q6600 in 1 week, :D.  The new G0 stepping as well :D. I'm excited.
Are you using XP or Vista? I have had no distortion or pops with my sound.  Although, from what I hear the drivers for XP or much more polished than those for Vista.  This is a Creative issue, and not an MSI issue.  Lots of people are having problems with Vista with the standalone Creative cards as well.
I overclocked my E6700 to about 3.5Ghz, and hit a temp wall based on my ambient temps.  I probably could have gone higher if it was cooler in the room that houses the computer.  Although, the temps have dropped dramatically after the AS5 has cured, probably could get it pushed up a bit higher.  Hopefully I don't have problems with it when the Q6600 comes in.
If you got the older B3 stepping version, it will run a bit hotter and will be much harder to OC to higher speeds because of this.  I've found the P6N Diamond to be very OC friendly and like all the options it gives.  The only thing I don't like is the adjustment of the Vcore lists the # above stock, instead of the absolute #. Sometimes the Vcore it auto assigns isn't 100% correct I've heard so it'd be nice to know what that auto value is.  The Vcore reading you can read in the monitor section fluctuates a hair in each direction of 1.3 for me when at stock, so I assume it was 1.3 stock.

  • P6N Diamond and Wolfdale E8400 Decision

I recently built a new machine with the Intel Wolfdale E8400 processor, 2 sticks of 2GB (5-5-5-18) OCZ Reaper DDR2800 RAM and the P6N Diamond motherboard. I thought that since the motherboard supported
Core 2 Duo and a 1333 MHz FSB that surely it must support the Wolfdale.
Silly me. Initially my system locked up and rebooted with artifacts whenever I tried to run 3D Mark 05. At first I blamed my new videocard, the MSI NX8800GT and RMA'd it. Since I got back the same card I sent, the problem must not have
    been the graphics card.
Sure enough, it turned out that I hadn't plugged in 8 pin ATX12V connector! I thought that surely the 24 pin 12V connector would be enough, right? How the system even POST-ed on my first attempt I don't know. Once I fixed that, the system was able to run 3DMark 05 without locking up and rebooting. I then played Oblivion for about an hour with all the settings cranked up ( 1920 x 1200 x 32 w/ everything set to high but no AA ).
Then I noticed that under 'System Properties', Windows only listed 2.5 GB of RAM when I had 4GB of RAM.
I was aware of the 32-bit Windows XP RAM limitation and expected to see at least 3 GB.
I then found out that the latest BIOS 1.3 could fix the  problem.  After the BIOS update and loading the fail-safe defaults, I reran 3D Mark 05 and sure enough it hung and reboot (this time with no artifacts.)
I set Windows to not reboot on system error so I could actually see a BSOD if there was one, but the BSOD would flash on the screen too fast before the system rebooted.
I then cleared the BIOS, re-loaded fail-safe defaults in BIOS, and reinstalled Windows.  Windows then reported 3.0 GB of RAM and the machine finally completed a run of 3D Mark 05 without locking up and rebooting.
    I learned 2 lessons there:
    1) Don't update your BIOS unless there's something REAAAALLY wrong
    with your system and
    2) If you do, make sure to clear your BIOS afterward.
Then I decided to try Prime 95.  I selected 'Blended Tests' and a few seconds later the machine would again lock up and reboot. It was at this point that I decided to send the MSI support people a message.
My response was that the P6N Diamond does NOT support the Wolfdale E8400 processor.
Anandtech.com even says that it does!!!
A coworker of mine has his machine working with the EXACT SAME PROC AND MOBO!!!!!
I tried underclocking the FSB to 1066 MHz, which reduced the proc to 2.4GHz and the DDR2-800 memory to 533MHz and Prime 95 ran overnight.
Just when I was about to give up hope and try to sell the 'officially incompatible' P6N Diamond, I stumbled onto a forum thread involving the P6N Platinum.  Apparently, someone with a similar problem with the P6N Diamond
figured out that if he increased the voltages (CPU to +0.0250, Memory to 1.85 V, NB Voltage to 1.35, SB Voltage to 1.55 V and FSB VTT to 4%) then the system would be stable.
On a lark, I tried those settings and now the system is stable at 3.0 GHz and a 1333 MHz FSB and my DDR2-800 running at 667MHz.
Overall it seems as if I am having to overclock my system just to get it to run at STOCK speeds!!!!
This doesn't seem right given that other overclockers are getting at least 3.6 GHz with their Wolfdales.
Should I try the P7N Diamond?

a problem with a power supply with multiple rails and passed on a recommendation
that for the sake of simplicity, a PSU with a single rail was best.
The PSUs with multiple rails seem to involve more care in plugging in components as far making sure that
the parts are getting the right amount of current(?)

  • P6N Diamond and built in X-Fi trouble

Hi i just purchased a spanking new pc setup which included the p6n diamond (for the built in x-fi).
I've cleanly installed windows xp 32bit with sp2 onto the raid 5 array (3x76gb) harddrives. I installed the nvidia nforce motherboard drivers (latest windows signed driver) and the latest windows signed nvidia gfx card driver. also installed direct x 9c and enabled sli on the gfx cards.
I've done nothing else to the system..everything is fine...except... there is a pci device in device manager which i thought was my built in creative x-fi card... however, when running the msi creative x-fi installer, it says "no supported device found"....weird. So i went into my bios to check it was turned on and it was. just to make sure though, i turned it off and low and behold the pci device dissapeared from device manager. I've since turned it back on (which again popped it into the device manager) and tried installing the drivers from the creative website...which also did not find a x-fi card to install onto. i then extracted the creative .exe driver file and tried forcing the install by telling device manager i "have disk" and pointed it to the extracted files.... it installed the card "sound blaster x-fi xtreme audio", but the device "cannot start" and has an exclamation mark next to it (i had also previously tried forcing the msi drivers in the same way, but they didnt even allow me to select a driver that way (after doing the "have disk" thing)).
the bios version is 1.1 (came that way) - although i am contemplating a downgrade to 1.0 (asking you lot first
Im kinda lost as to where to go from here and i really really really really dont want to have to dismantle my newly built pc, sent it back to ebuyer to have them tell me "the x-fi card is fine" or something along those lines... and get into a long drawn out phone battle with their support team (which is normally inevitable).
I work in IT, so give me all the options you think i have no matter how remote and i'll give them ago before losing my pc for weeks on an RMA.
    spec:
    e6600 dual core
    2 x 7900gs using sli
    corsair hx 620w psu
    2 x 1gb ocz vx2 pc2-8000 ram
3 x 10k 76gb raptor  (using nvidia raid 5 built into the mb)

Ok... after installing all the windows updates (i already had sp2 installed mind you) something strange happened... the pci device was detected as an HD audio device (thanks for the tip maesus).
Thing is... after installing as a HD audio device, the pc then detected it as an creative x-fi, then it detected it as a hd audio device again, then an xfi card again...over and over in some weird "found new hardware device" loop.
and again on reboot, i got a non-functioning device in device manager (the exclamation mark again).
sooooo.... I re-installed windows (again!)...but this time i ran ms update until it ran out of updates then tried running the creative installer...... at last... it installed!
    i have sound
So it seems you need to install a particular ms patch before installing this device... (and if you try to install the device before then...you may have to re-install the OS).  It would be very nice to know exactly what patch was needed, but at the moment i am experiencing great relief that i wont have to send this back to the supplier.
phew.   cheers for the help guys... and i hope this helps others in the same predicament.

hi guys my system boots up fine and everything is working but i am using one 4 pin connector from my psu connecting it to my motherboard
the psu also has another 4 pin connector , shall i connect this to the second blocked connector on the motherboard or is one 4 pin enough?
    thanks, please see the image.

  • P6N Diamond problems and questions

OK first here is the set up
    P6N Diamond
    Q6600
    4GB OCZ DDR2 800
    Raptor X 150GB C drive
    Raptor 74GB D drive
    250GB WD SATA
    GF 8800GTS 640MB
Coolermax 850W PS 412 volt rails 28a on two of the rails
    Windows Vista ultimate 64
I loaded windows on the bare Raptor and it installed Reboot after install and loaded drivers from CD for chipset. Reboot and installed other drives. Now the fun begins...
I was able to install the Video driver downloaded from nVidia's website. But the system hangs constantly It doesn't matter what your doing driver install, windows update or just looking into drives. It starts the operation then it sits with just the fan running for about 5 or more min. then it starts working again. I haven't found any posts here with a similar problem so it must be something I did. My local store did advise a windows reinstall.
Second problem the RAM is seen by the board as 677 not 800. The manual is very unclear on how to change that. I did pick up some Corsair XMS RAM to use instead of the OCZ to make sure it's not a RAM problem. I also tried 1 stick of RAM as well.
Is there a BIOS setting guide for this board anywhere? Also do I need to update BIOS?
Thanks for any help in advance.

    Snowfalcon,
You can go to MSI's website, look in "downloads" and download a complete owners manual in PDF format for the P6N Diamond.  It contains a bios guide.  As far as the memory..you will probably have to increase the memory voltage in order for the bios to run it at the rated frequency, on my OCZ Platinum 6400s I run it at 2.1 volts to get the 800mhz rating. You may not be able to run all 4 gigs, I recommend using no more than 2 sticks in slots 1 & 3 until you get the OS loaded and running stable.  Oh, and dont "enable" the onboard audio until after all other drivers are loaded up.  Then you can load the Creative X-Fi drivers and software.  These suggestions work for WinXP..there are other threads in this forum concerning/specific to Vista installs.   Good luck.

  • P6n diamond - error beeps and freezing

Ok so I have had the MSI p6n diamond since july. Since the beginning I couldn't buff the Anti Aliasing to more than 4x or else my game would (whole pc) freeze up with the sound also freezing. So I just didn't buff it. Recently I started getting problems. No matter what I am doing, my PC freezes up. If it is in a game the sound gets freeze choppy, you know what I mean, no matter at what settings I play it. Then the whole PC started freezing up like this. It is working, but not doing anything, just being on. And the image on the monitor is frozen. Is it possible to be the mouse, because I sometimes have to change the usb slot of the mouse when it goes to sleep? So the only way to use the PC after a freeze, is to restart via the button on the case. But then sometimes, an odd thing happens. I get this 5-10 second continuous beep from the start which then has a 1 second pause and again the long beep. I tried searching in the manual and on the intranetz, but all the info was different and the only error thing connected in the manual was the LED codes. And when the beep is on, the led codes are nothing out of the ordinary. Basically it wont go through the intitial beep when the pc is turned on. So i restart it a few times, just getting the beep, or getting a blank screen and nothing happening. Then the same stuff happens, if I go into bios, it will sometimes freeze there, so that leads me to think that It is not the Windows, which i installed over 3 times (fresh installs). I defragmented the hard drive a few times using O&O defrag. Basically I am out of options. Help would be appreciated a lot.
    p6n diamond
    inno3d nvidia 8600GT
    Dual core e6320
PS Maybe it is a voltage issue? It is at auto voltage, but maybe I should change it? Everything is at auto voltage btw. What should the voltages be?
Basically what error beeps mean would be the greatest help you could give me. But only for this mobo specifically. I want to know in which part of my pc the problem is.

"Then the same stuff happens, if I go into bios, it will sometimes freeze there"
It looks like PSU fault..Try with better PSU.. Good suggestions can be found here: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=112039.msg836246#msg836246
Also check CPU cooling system, re-seat CPU and apply new thermal paste(but not too much)

  • P6n Diamond 590mcp?

Just wondering if someone could shed some light on the 590 chip in the p6n diamond?  I thought it was supposed to be a 680i chipset.  Does the 680i chipset use the 590 for the southbridge or something?  I was searching and found one site that listed the 680i southbridge part number and that part number included some letters and 590 so maybe it's normal.  Thanks!
    Jeff

    Hi, welcome to the forum.
Yes, the 590 MCP is the southbridge in 680i chipsets.

  • Deciding on a new CPU for P6N Diamond

    Hi all,
I'm looking at upgrading my cpu before moving to vista.  I'd like to get a nice extreme edition since this is my dream pc.  I'm pretty sure the QX6850 will work with it, but has anyone tried the QX9650?  I saw some of the other Yorkfield processors are under testing and will most likely work with the latest bios, except the QX9650.  I'd be will to buy the processor and wait for the next bios update, but I'm not sure if the next bios update will add support for that processor.
    Thanks

Sorry for the bad news, but the P6N Diamond will NOT support any Yorkfield processors in the future.  Future bios updates will only support Wolfdale processors...not the new quad core series..:(  If you want to run a 45nm CPU, you will need to stick with a dual core or update to the 780i or 750i board.  Bummer.

  • New PC build w/ P6N Diamond - won't read DVD's?

The P6N Diamond, hard drive, memory, and OS are new.  DVD drive and power supply worked fine in old system (yesterday!).  Clean install of XP MCE on new hard drive.  All MSI drivers installed off CD-ROM.  Ran online updates till all hardware and OS were happy.
I just realized the DVD drive I did all the installs from reads CD's fine but won't read data or video DVD's.  I checked Device Manager and the DVD drive is listed correctly but I noticed the IDE controller is listed as Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller.  It has Microsoft drivers loaded.  Shouldn't the driver be from Nvidia?  It's a stretch but I'm wondering if this could be a driver issue?  I can put the old system back together to verify the optical drive works but it would be a real pain...

I was hoping someone with the same board would look in Device Manager and see what drivers show as installed.  I can find drivers but I believe the P6N has a 680i North bridge with an older South bridge chipset and I'm not sure Nvidia made reference drivers for this combo.  I noticed MSI lists system drivers by North bridge/South bridge combination.
I'll swap drives between a couple of my pc's when I get off work and see if the problem follows the drive or stays with the pc, then I'll probably try reloading drivers.  It's either hardware, drivers, or OS and I really don't look forward hours of updates if I re-install XP.
edit: I got lucky, it was the drive.

  • P6N Diamond New Problem: Second HDD Randomly Starts/Stops Since recent Update

    Howdy All,
Continuing problems with the P5N Diamond.
    This one's new.
Previously I had the same problem as many others with the cold boot issue. Somehow, someway, it just stopped: cold boot or not, one day it just started booting fine....go figure.
However, I recently (about 3 weeks ago) did the MSI live update that included something or other pertaining to the E-SATA....support for it or something to that end. Although I don't use the E-SATA, I installed it thinking I might at some point and since installing it, I have discovered a new problem: my second drives (in RAID 0) just opens/closes randomly. It seems to mostly occur when operating demanding programs: gaming, watching a video, that sort of thing.
Everytime it does this, it takes me to desktop and asks me what program I want to use to open the program......which when I do, is nothing more than my second (D drive) HDDs in RAID 0. I then get the yellow pop up message in the bottom toolbar from Windows saying it's experienced a write failure problem. It hasn't done any damage that I can tell and I've lost nothing, but being taken to desktop perpetually is a major issue. This problem is driving me absolutely up the wall. No sooner than I start to do something and wham.....I'm at desktop being asked what program I want to use to open up the second HDDs. I've also tried just leaving it open but to no avail: it just randomly continues to open and close.
I have my O/S on the C drive and 2 more HDDs in RAID O for back up on ports 6 & 7. Since doing the MSI update that included the E-SATA whatever, this new problem almost prevents the computer from being usable: certainly nothing in gaming is possible along with anything that requires uninterruption.
    Here's my system:
    M/B: P6N Diamond
    CPU: E6850
    RAM: Corsair XMS PC-8500, 2 x 1 gig
    HDD: 1- WD 150 Raptor
    HDD: 2- WD 5000AAKS in Raid 0
    Vid Card: EVGA 8800GTX
PSU: PC Power & Cooling 750 Silencer
    ODD: Sony DRU 830A
    FDD: Sony Floppy
    Misc: Scythe fans x 5
    O/S: XP Pro w/ SP2
    Running BIOS 1.2
So, being fairly certain the MSI update created the problem, my question is, how do I undo the MSI's most recent update to remove it? When I go into Add/Remove Programs, nothing is listed there. I'm not sure this is the source of the problem but I do know I didn't have it beforehand.
I'd greatly appreciate any help with this....even any ideas. While I have some computer knowledge, I'm not as tech savvy as most here, but this problem is, apart from driving me up a wall, making the computer almost unusable. FYI, I haven't done a System Restore because I've installed several things since and don't want to lose them if I can isolate the problem, but I will if that's what you all recommend.
Again, sorry for what may be a noobish question, but I'm not sure where else to go. After dealing with MSI's tech support, I'd rather talk to a wall.
    Thanks greatly.
    Pepper1

    Mark,
Forgive me for asking, but I am a bit confused. Is your "cold boot issue" now solved? If so, do you think that the new drives are the key?

    Sorry for late post.
After setting up the HW RAID (2500YS) for booting the system still cold boots.  strangely this time the reset (Ctrl+Alt+Del) doesn't seem to work.  I must of did it two dozen times and it would never clear.  I then just powered off after the other 2 drives on the nvidia SATA cleared and seen the HD LED light up and stay on for a few seconds(seems stuck on the 4723 checks of the drive) and then powered down and powered right back up with no cold boot issue.  It has worked this way every time for the last week or so and I tested it like 20 or so times(3-4 times a day).  These drives are listed as being compatible after the firmware update (and I did that already) so I guess it is either the MB BIOS needs updating or it's the way the nvidia chipset runs this setup is wacky.  This is assuming the 4723 HD compatibility list is correct.
here's a summary of the drives so far.
36GB Raptors (old revision) - can take forever to boot properly and corrupted my disk in 3 days of testing (scrambled my directory structure)
105GB Raptors - Just reset(Ctrl+Alt+Del) 1-4 times after the HD LED goes solid for a few seconds.  worked for two months no errors.
250GB Caviar RE(2500YS) - have to power off (power button) when HD LED goes solid.  so far no problems for a week.
80 GB SATA II Hitachi Deskstar (HDS728080PLA380 - May 2005) - same as 150 GB Raptors, just a reset or four, only did a days worth of testing with no errors.
well, I was hoping for those 2500YS to work properly.  Now it makes it really hard to track the problems with so many different errors and 3 different places it can go wrong 4723/nvidia/msi/HD Manufacturer.  wait, that's 4.  Oh boy!
Hopefully this gets resolved soon.  I've already had to move this MB to my secondary system, and for other reasons than this.  I didn't mind hitting the reset button to get this to run.  I get the feeling that MSI has abandoned this board on us.  with the new P7N being released it will be even harder to get anyone to mess with this thing.

  • How do I monitor my northbridge temps? - P6N Diamond

That stupid little northbridge fan is stupidly loud so I'm playing with taking the fan out. How can I monitor my northbridge temps? Both my nvidia controls and speedfan give me environment and cpu and gpu, but none give me northbridge temps. Can any tell me how to monitor my northbridge temps?

You will need a thermal sensing device to determine the temperature properly but the P6N Diamond does not run really hot anyways.

Some aftermarket fan controllers have them too.

  • P6n Diamond & GeForce 8800 GTS, No Signal from Video Card

This is my first computer build. It has taken waaay to long and now I'm on my final step - Getting the video card to work.
    I am running the following:
MSI P6N Diamond MoBo - Bios are set to the "optimal settings"
    EVGA 640-p2-N821-AR GeForce 8800GTS 640mb 320-bit GDDR3...
    Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66ghz 4m shared L2 Caeche LGA 775
    OCZ GameXStream ATX12V 700W Power Supply 100-240V
    (2 - not RAID) Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB 7200 RPM 16mb cache Sata 3gb/s Hard Drives
    Philips 20x Dvd/r
In an Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Case
    Dell E207WFP LCD Monitor
    Windows XP Pro
*I've updated windows with all their high priority updates, installed the drivers on the cd from MSI
My problem: When I enable my video card and restart, I can hear the computer starting windows and I see the first load screen but then my monitor says - no signal, turns black and goes into powersaver mode.  The very limited manual from EVGA says: "Quite often this problem is caused by the integrated video card adapter not being disabled prior to installing the new PCI based viedo card"
My question is this: Does the P6N have an intergrated video card that I should be turning off to get my video card to show? I ran a DxDiag and did not see one. Also, I did only saw one video adapter listed in the device manager.
