P6N Platinum: audio problem! [SOOOOLVED! YES!]

Hello.
I've recently got a P6N Platinum, Q6600, 4GB Corsair 800MHz DDR2 and a GT8800. I started out with XP64, but for various reasons I'm switching to good ol' XP32 now. Formatted and installed it today. Everything worked smoothly in XP64, but now that I've installed XP32 the audio won't work. I've tried all sorts of different versions of the Realtek HD Audio drivers, but nothing seems to work. I read somewhere that some guy had success installing (in this exact order, with reboots inbetween) the Chipset driver, S-ATA raider driver then the Audio driver straight from the original MSI CD that came with the MB, so I even formatted again, reinstalled XP32 and tried installing the drivers in this order with reboots between each one; nothing. What worries me is that nothing even shows up in Device Manager, the only thing I got there with a "question mark" is a PCI Device. I have no idea what device this is though since the only "PCI Device" I got connected is my PCI-E graphic card which already has drivers. I've tried the CNet drivers from the "Popular Issues and Solutions" thread too, didn't work at all. I've tried pretty much everything I can think of, nothing. Even tried forcefeeding a new device through Add Hardware.. then using the Realtek drivers, but I got "Device can't start". BIOS is reset, tried both Default Settings and Optimized Defaults. Tried disabling and re-enabling the HD Audio Controller in BIOS Intergrated Peripherals. Any suggestions would be LOVED, because this is getting frustrating.
Edit: Could also be worth nothing I am using XP SP3, and I got no Microsoft HD Audio-driver under my Sound devices in Device Manager.
Thanks in advance.

OH MY GOD, I finally found out what the hell was up. The PCI Device that was showing up yellow was the actual Windows HD Audio thing. Or, the "UUA Fix". I think what happens is that this won't install properly on XP SP3, so I somehow, somewhere, found a UAA fix for SP3, did a "Reinstall drivers" on the PCI Device and picked the path for it and suddenly the Realtek drivers just popped right into track without any problems. Instantly.

Try this if you are having problems installing any HD Audio drivers in XP SP3. Woho.

My motherboards is connected to my home audio receiver via optical audio cable, and only sends the front left and right channels when using the ac97 codec. How do I set the spdif connection to send all signals in a 5.1 surround system.
Also to note there is nothing wrong with the connection because videos using the ac3 codec use full dolby digital and all signals work.
Also the other channels work fine using ac97 when I attach speakers to the rear speaker analog port on the motherboard, so that channel exists.
Please help, much appreciated.

I didn't even know there was a way to turn off decoding to get a passthrough. I've found that there is a lack of options that make a difference when I need them. I don't think it's necessarily a driver problem, because I can watch movies just fine off my hard drive in 5.1 providing they support the ac3 filter. I emailed msi and they said:
"You will need to install an AC3 Decoder in order to process and SPDIF output
to the receiver."
Problem is that I couldn't find an interactive decoder that would process multichannel output in a game. I emailed realtek as well to get their take on it, and they said:
"I'm sorry !!
The AC'97 Audio codec didn't support AC-3 Encoder for SPDIF-Out . You can try to play sound with PowerDVD or WinDVD"
So I have no idea what to do. It's starting to look to me that we're getting ripped off here. My problem is that I don't own any speaker systems other than my surround sound, which I cannot connect through analog, so I guess I'm gonna be deprived or digital surround in my games. Unless I buy an audigy 2 zs platinum which costs a fortune, and that might not even support multichannel spdif output.
If anyone finds a way around this, I'm sure it would help me and a lot of users.

• K8N SLI Platinum audio problem

I have some problems with on-board audio, I can't find any solution on this Forum:
1. I hear loud noise from my speakers MT 323 5.1 after booting in Windows, same speakers connected to my second PC (Abit NF7S +Soundstorm) are noiseless. If I use headphones connected to MB AUD1 from case front panel, there is no such noise. So this is not speakers fault.
2. Channel separation is almost OK, but I hear right rear channel in central speaker during test from Speaker Settings panel.
Overall quality of sound is very good, only above problems
This situation not depends on SB Live! 24 bit drivers - 5.12.1.353 and ...356 - same problem. Of course my PSU has -5V rail.
Maybe somebody had such kind of problem?

Thanks Richard for your reply,
I had done what you had suggested, with software volume level controls set from 100% to 0% there is no difference in noise level, with speakers controls I'm reducing noise level but it is still in background. If I am in SuSE Linux mode I don't hear noise with 100% volume level (both software and hardware controls).
regards

• K8N Neo4 Platinum Audio Problem

I'm having a problem with getting surround sound to work at all on this system. There are a number of problems.
Here is my main problem I'm currently dealing with. At one point I was able to have my surround speakers work on this PC. It's a standard setup, 2 front speakers, 2 rear speakers, and a single subwoofer. The color coding on the back of the PC indicates green for front, black for rear. That's fine and dandy, however only the black rear output seems to work.
If I plug the green into the green, nothing comes out the front speakers. If I plug the green into the black, sound will come out of the front speakers, but off the rear channel. I guess basically my problem is that my onboard sound will not put sound out of the front output as well as the rear.
I've tried installing sound cards, but the system basically rejects them. It won't even detect any sound cards I install. Windows will give me critical errors if I install drivers for any sort of third party soundcard.
It's as if this system REALLY doesn't want me to get my surround sound. Any ideas? I have all the newest drivers for my board, bios, etc. Thanks.

I'm glad you followed my advice...

Try taking out the card, uninstalling the original onboard sound drivers, disable the onboard sound, plug the card back in. Boot up, and now hopefully it will work?
Great news that you're sorted!

• P6N Platinum Bios Resetting on Boot

Hi all,
I've got a P6N Platinum that the bios resets on almost every day.
-I turn the PC off each night (start - shutdown - from windows)
-When I turn it on in the morning (pressing the power button) it lights up, but I get no video.
-All four lights are green on the D bracket.
-If I press and hold the power button until it turns off, the turn it back on, the same thing happens.
-If I just press the reset button, it boots with the bios reset. I have to go in and set the time and disable the onboard audio (since I have an X-Fi). And any other settings I've tweaked are gone (I've only changed memory timings - but it runs ok on auto).
-Once I reset the bios it works fine the rest of the day - even if I reboot it or power it off and back on.
-I'm not overclocking or doing SLI
Sounds like a battery problem, but it's connected to AC all of the time.
System Specs:
Core2Duo E6600
EVGA 8800 GTX KO

If the system locks up or crashes once fully booted into the O/S, and will not re-boot on subsequent attempts, it should reset BIOS to "Optimized Defaults", telling you, "Warning!!! The previous performance of overclocking has failed... Please press any key to continue...". Afterwhich, it will boot with the default settings.
If, instead, it successfully re-boots within three attempts of the three-finger-salute boot after the lock-up, it should maintain the user selected BIOS settings.
That's normal.
I am beginning to think MSI has come up with a "learning" or "self-healing" BIOS. What few little annoying problems I've had are slowly disappearing, one boot at a time.
When you are playing Lord of the Rings do you get physical; shaking or striking your desk or computer? Could be loose wires. I know my truck acts like that at times.
I see that message in the manual, but I have never received it. It's never taken three attempts - just one. And, the problem occurs after a normal shutdown. (but so far only after the game has crashed).
I've been known to turn my keyboard into popcorn before, but not with this system!! - YET!

• New P6N Platinum acting wierd...

What's up guys. My dad's computer at his office has been giving him problems like locking up, sluggish performance even after a reformat, etc so he gave me $1200 to build him a new machine that will last him "a long time". hahah
So I've put together a pretty decent Core2Duo machine. Here are the specs
E6400
P6N Platinum
1 gig of Gskill DDR2 800
This stick
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231085
A corsair 520 watt PSU
Generic PCIE video card
75 gig Raptor HDD (I'm going to use his existing HDD as supplimental storage)
Samsung DVD writer
I put it together, the system loaded windows XP fine, I installed the motherboard's monitoring software that Dual Core center thing, video drivers, Ntune software (which I now know is useless) and then proceeded to install office, some anti spyware apps, antivirus software, etc...
That's all well and good but here's where trouble started up.
During the software install, the Dual core center that was monitoring the fan speeds and cpu temp flashed at me saying one of the case fans wasn't spinning. I opened the side panel and both case fans were spinning fine. (X_<)
I disabled that montior and continue installing stuff. A minute or two later, the other one goes red saying the 2nd case fan wasn't spinning. I still had the side off and could clearly see all connected fans still spinning. I disabled that one thinking it was the last I'd hear.
I have an E6600 and another P6N platinum and 2 gigs of patriot DDR2 1066 ram coming today for my own system upgrade and I had already bought an EVGA 7600GT video card to use temporarily until the DX10 cards start dropping in price.
Anyways, I wanted to see what sort of benchmarks the unclocked system could spit out so I shutdown, popped the 7600 in, rebooted, re-installed the latest Nvidia drivers and installed FEAR.
I ran fear and it froze up during one of the pregame splash screens. I held down the power button to reboot it and when I turned it back on, the system physically came on but there was no post and the monitor stayed in standby mode. No beeps or anything. All 4 little LED's on the Dbracket thing were lit up green.
Thinking mabey something was up with the video card I shutdown and put the old card back in. Same thing with this one now. No power to the monitor, no beep, no post, nothing.
So at this point, I start going through the usual suspects. I tried booting with the ram in a different slot each time and still nothing, I unplugged the floppy and cdrom ide cables, nothing. I unplugged the hard drive, pulled the Cmos battery, pressed the little clear CMOS button, etc... nothing. I even went so far as to pull the video card itself and still no warning beeps or anything.
At this point, I was thinking it could be the ram stick was bad or the CPU was bad or even the motherboard itself. I was thinking mabey the mobo due to the previous warnings about the fan speed.
In one last desparate attempt, I put the generic video card back in, hooked up everything but the floppy and put the memory back in the original green slot 1 and took it into the kitchen to my work space and plugged it in and turned it on and lo and behold, it beeped at me and the Dbracket LED's indicated that the floppy wasn't attached. I hooked up a monitor using the VGA (rather than the DVI which was in my computer room) and the windows loading screen was up.
I shutdown, hooked the floppy back up and watched the led's on the Dbracket as it started up and they appeared to go through a sequence of checking everything as they all were flashing green to red and then all green and windows was up and running as normal. At this point, I'm still holding my breath just waiting for it to lock back up and give me grief again but it never does.
right now, I'm at work and it's sitting next to me and has been running stress tests for the last hour and a half without a hitch. CPU temp is peaking at around 53*C.
When I get back from lunch, I'm going to run memtest and spinrite 6 to make sure the HDD is good to go and after that image the hdd for backup purposes.
I'm hesitant whether or not I should tell my dad that his machine is finished becuase I don't know what in the world went wrong last night. In my experience, when something fails, it's not going to work again. I haven't tried running fear again. I actually uninstalled it as he'll never use that but I was wondering if you guys could offer any ideas on what went wrong?
I'm going to image both this machine and his old machine before I wipe his old HDD and put it in this new one just in case something does go wrong again, I can just pop the old HDD in his old machine, load the image and minimize down time while whatever parts need to be replaced are out.
Thanks for any suggestions or ideas!

I had already planned on that. I don't know if it was one of those that caused the problem or what but I'd rather it not be there at all than lurking in the background.
Memtest came up with no errors, stress tests passed fine (for now) and spinrite is about finished with zero hdd errors.

• Premier Elements 8 Audio Problem

I just got a new Dell laptop last week that came with the Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and Premier Elements 8 bundle pre-installed. I’ve never worked with Premier Elements before and thought I’d try my luck with it yesterday. I edited several movie clips that were taken with my Sony camera in MP4 format, joined the clips into one movie with transitions between them, and rendered the finished product in .mpg format.
The video plays fine in all programs, but the audio is a different story. It is silent in Windows Media Player and Real Player, yet plays well in Windows Media Center and Windows Movie Maker. It also plays on my Dell PC in Windows Media Player (the same program that silences it on my Dell laptop).
I'm a senior citizen and have worked a little bit with Windows Movie Maker but that is all - nothing more intricate than that program. I’d like to burn my new movie file to DVD but would first like to know what is causing the audio problem. I'm hoping it's something simple and that this aged brain can understand the "fix". Any suggestions?
Thank you for any help you can offer me.
Anne

Hello Hunt, and thank you for helping me.
Yes, you have described the problem correctly. In PrElements, all was
well with video and audio - and still is OK in two of the video players I have
on this new laptop. However, there is no audio in the other two programs
- but only on this Dell laptop in Windows Media Player. There IS audio in
Windows Media Player on my Dell PC. That's what really confuses me.
Yes, the original file from the camera was mp4 and was exported as mpg
(MPEG). I don't remember the settings I used; I think the only thing I
changed was a quality setting. Is there a way of going back and looking at the
original settings to jot down what they were?
I think that the free version of Real Player has improved over the years
and has a few more "goodies" now than it did in previous editions. For one,
I was able to capture an internet video in its entirety last year, and
very easily. I wanted this video (a show trailer) for a slideshow I was
creating and couldn't figure out how to get it with any other application.
That's the main reason I installed Real Player last week on this new laptop -
"just in case" I want to do this again.
I will take your advice and look into the two free players...
And, in response to your second post, WMM has given me a good start but,
unless I'm missing something, it does not have the capability of burning a
DVD. I will check out the resources link and the Training Series that you
describe, and thank you so much for your help!
Cordially,
Anne

Anne,
Welcome to the forum.
Just to make sure that I am following you, I will restate what I think you
are experiencing, and then please correct me. Along the way will be a few
questions too.
You have created a Project in PrElements, and have Imported Video (with
Audio) into the PrE Project. The files from your Sony are in MP4 format.
In PrE you have your Audio, correct?
You have then Exported/Shared that Project to an AV file as an MPEG. Do
you recall the settings chosen for that MPEG?
That Exported/Shared file plays with Audio in some players, but in others
it only plays the Video, but not the Audio. Is that correct?
Knowing the settings used to create that MPEG file might explain why some
player software does a good job, where other players have an issue.
This is an aside comment - I find that WMP, especially the later versions,
is not a good choice for a player. It seems that MicroSooft has done as
much as possible to strip it of most capabilities. Instead, I recommend two
free players,
http://gofree.com/download/Video/Media-Players/vlcmediaplayer.php?gclid=CLW6soS44KkCFQoBbA odO3L2Xg and
http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/. Both are excellent, and will play files, that some other players struggle
with. Again, both are free. Because all players are not created equal, I
just go with what works. If you were distributing these files to a client,
that was locked into WMP, especially the newer versions, then addressing the
issue would be worth the detective work. If that was the case, then I
would explore Exporting/Sharing to WMV format, rather than the MPEG.
I have not used RealPlayer in about a decade. I found it to be nearly
useless then, and rather ill-behaved. I will not let it near my computers,
though it has possibly been improved over the years. If you have any RealMedia,
MediaPlayer Classic HC, can be modified with a free plug-in, to allow
that. If you do not have RealMedia files (usually designated by .RM), then I
would not worry about taht. Only install what you need, when you need it. I
would just ignore RealPlayer, since it is installed.
Good luck, and hope that this was helpful. Let us know a bit more about
the MPEG settings, please.
Hunt

• I have Audio problems after 6.1.2 update. What do I do?

Is anybody else having audio problems after updating to 6.1.2? How do I Fix it?

No problems here.
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

• Audio problems after exporting out of iMovie

Aloha!
I have a 48 minute movie created in imovie with lots of audio, clips and transitions. It works perfectly when I preview or play it in iMovie. When I try to share it to iDvd, export to iDvd, or to save it as a Quicktime movie, it looks great for several minutes, then the audio tracks get messed up. The correct audio is there, but overlayed on it is snippets from farther into the project, or whole tracks from later in the project, or places where the audio drops out completely. I spent about 70 hours creating this movie and really want to burn it to DVD so I can play it on the big screen. I did burn one version to dvd, and it looked and sounded great - until the audio problems began... any help would be greatly appreciated.
In Garage Band there is a feature where you can consolidate your bits into one track - should I be doing something in iMovie after I finish it before I export it?

what kind of speed changes do you mean? If you mean using some clips in slo-mo (with the sound dropped out) then yes I used a LOT of them... but they are also working fine for the first several minutes...

• Jmf voip audio problems (loops, delay)

Hi,
Im here with a lots of audio problems. Im testing a simple voip app.
The system is winxp, sb live , 3 gb ram, celeron 3ghz
with JAVASOUND:
Loops in sound appear randomly and bad sound quality (i give it up javasound)
with DSOUND:
Random delays in conversations(0-7secs) but no loops at all and good sound.
Pleople complain about the 0-2 secs delay in DirectAudioRenderer...here i am having 0-7 secs! is just me?!?
Some interesting things:
I found that the delay is most of the times unidirectional and when the user that DOES NOT HAVE delay makes a mute (stream.stop()) for 5 secs at least, the delay disappears "completely" in the other side!
When the delay is bidirectional, both have to stop the streams (mute) for some time in order to the audio to "synchronize".
Another thing that seams to help minimize variable delay is starting the receiver player about 5 secs after the RealizeCompleteEvent ( the java examples start teh player imediatly)
Could anyone ever confim this behaviour?
If there is any other solution other than messing with the sources i would be preciated!
Thanks

>
> Yes...i see some "?"
I see you making a bunch of declarative statements based on your observations on a system you've not given much technical detail about, and then asking questions that border on being rhetorical.
And I can see a request for a possible solution... You asked for a solution to a problem you're having with an application you didn't remotely talk about how you'd implemented ANYTHING. So how you expect anyone in the world to offer you a solution to your vague babble about 5 to 7 second delays in an application they know nothing about is beyond my comprehension.
Do you think its always required a question to get someone to share some information? I actually walk down the street and crazy people offer to hand me their manifesto, religous people shout out my damnation and/or give me copies of their handouts and religeous texts, I go to a football game and people hand me pamphlets for their political candidate, and I'm often handled fliers with information / meeting times for student organizations on campus. And dude, RSS feeds, man...the RSS feeds just push out information all day long, man. It's amazing! All the information being given to me without asking a single question of anyone / anything...
But yeah, if you want help with something on a coding forum, you'd be better of asking a damned question instead of sharing your observations about what your unposted, undescribed code appears to be doing and expecting someone to share information about where 5 seconds may have came from...
Regardless, I'm going to suggest that a normal program travels significantly closer to the speed of light than your implementation does, and as such, you're experiencing a problem with time dilation. I'd recommend you google around for the special theory of relatively, and make appropriate corrections to your inertial frame of reference. With the amount of information you've presented, that's as good a theory as I can offer.
And I'm officially done with this thread.

PSU is a thermaltake toughpower 700w modular, and of course the P6N platinum SLI.
My volts are as follows:
1.400 vcore
1.35 nbridge
4% fsb vtt
2.2 RAM
Everything else I left alone.
At these volts/frequencies I am able to get overnight orthos stable, intel TAT idle temps 33c, load 50-51c
My question is voltage. I should be able to get 3.2 at les than 1.4 vcore, yet even if i drop it one step, the comp freezes after an hour of orthos. I am seeing my voltages drop to 1.376 - 1.384 under 100 load, is that alot of vdroop? If it is, is there a pencil mod for this board, or could it me my psu thats the problem?
Also, if i up the fsb vtt, will that allow me to drop the vcore?
Sorry for the long thread, but I am very confused

Nope, every CPU is different, because some people get it like that doesn't mean you will.

That's normal

• 4s, just updated to ios7, audio problems

I updated to ios7 yesterday and everything was working fine, no problems for approx 24 hours.
Today while watching video on the Netflix app, the audio stopped working.
Now, this is what I have:
-Ringer does not work when i receive calls
-Notification sounds do not work
-there is no audio with youtube, netflix or video files
-no audio with itunes music
-sound toggle (up and down) do nothing.
-the silent/vibrate toggle above the audio toggles causes phone to vibrate but does not effect this audio problem
however;
In Settings; Sounds:
-when I use the volume slider for 'ringer and alerts' it plays the tone,
-when I select a different ringtone, it plays the tone,
-when I select a different text tone (tweet, mail etc/all others), it vibrates but DOES NOT play the tone
Additionally,
-audio works for phone calls on both regular and speakerphone settings
-audio for all apps works when earbuds/headphones are plugged in, through headphones
Troubleshooting attemts so far:
-vibrate toggle attempted, not the issue
-multiple soft and hard resets, no fix
-cleaned charging port, no fix
-cleaned earphone jack, no fix,
This appears to be a software update or app/setting compatibility issue. I've read other threads that suggest turning off 'airplay'... i cannot find airplay anywhere in the settings or on my iphone. I am not excited about going through the hassle of restoring my phone, losing music and saved app data.
I find it difficult to impossible to revert back to ios6.x.x and cannot restore my last backup from that version of ios.
My frustration abounds and makes competitor Android devices seem enticing.
Please Apple, help me

I encountered the same problem lastweek, as much to my surprise after reading all blogs & fixes, here's what i did...
1. I did a "Restore All" using iTunes directly connected to a pc/desktop, the reformat & reprograming only took 1hour to be exact, unlike wifi update, it took me 5hours & 45mins for total completeion of update iOs7 (which later on had problems due to unstable wifi connection)
Still the earpiece didn't work, but the phone performs fine now w/o a glitch, flawless...
2. My last resort before claiming my warranty or having it fixed, i did what others did that made their phone work, believe it or not, neither did i, it yes was a hardware problem, a simple "LOOSE CONTACT" on the earpiece...
So what i did after vacum & cleanning it up thoroughly, applying controlled great pressure directly on the earpiece like cpr, i toggled my phone w/ great force hitting the sides by hand, much like tapping it on my hand w/ great force while on a call switching from loudspeaker to normal earpiece, until such time in less than 5mins, whala, it worked i heard audio again on the earpiece...
I've been so careful w/ my unit w/ outmost premium accessories & care, ignoring the fact that sometimes bcoz of the great protection we ignore some minor mishaps like dropping it on the floor from our lap... As simple as that could be the cause... So, if u think at times u might have unconciously dropped it even w/ case on, it may have caused it...
I hope this helps & also fixes yours... I know what it feels...
But just incase it doesn't, then yes it's time to claim your warranty...

• UT 2004 Hardware audio problems, aswell as some other gam

I have an Audigy 9000 (I bought it OEM so all I know is what it tells me in the control panel) and all my drivers are up to date. When in Unreal Tournament 2004 all the music and sound is perfect if I keep it in 3D audio mode but when I Change it to Hardware 3D or HW 3D+EAX it wont play any music and in the intro movie (and the rest of the game) no music plays and alot of the sounds are really quiet while some are rediculously loud. I can play it fine in 3D sound mode but I did not buy a good audio card to replace my integrated 5. sound card just to use the same settings. Does anyone else have this problem and how can I fix it's Also in World of Warcraft no sound comes out during movies and there is no music in the game but all the other sounds play. But UT 2004 is my primary concern, I even tried re-installing it and yes my UT2004 is the latest vers.

Basically if you're having audio problems in Vista, you should look for latest Vista drivers from your chipset manufacturers website (links can be found in the Download forum here), and if you cannot obtain Vista drivers then you should look to buying a new sound card which does have Vista support
Wait and buy a new sound card. Test this first! Install lets say XP and then after your normal soundcard installation "copy" the installed sounddrivers folder for you specific card. Then you paste that folder on a usb drive/cd or another harddrive that you again c/p inside to Vista when thats installed. Check in the device manager for audio and Update that with the drivers from your copied drivers folder from XP if you dont get an automatic driverinstallation. If you do use that guide. Vista will prolly scream that the drivers where'nt checked etc. Skip that mess and just install anyway (on your own risk ofcourse! ) and then reboot the pc. If all goes well as it did for me the sound will now work flawless even if not a specific software that came with the card might do. If this tip didnt work well then its probably time for a total new soundcard that does support Vista 100%. Good Luck!
