P7000 Current reduction is disabled.

Hello!
I have a third-party stepper motor. I have connected it to P70530 Device. And I have NI PXI-7340 and UMI-7774 in Stepper motor control system:
NI PXI-7340 <---> UMI-7774 <---> P70530 ----> third-party stepper motor
All of this devices are working, stepper motor is driving, but I have a problem with Current reduction - I need to turn off step motor when it is not driving.
When I connect only P70530 ----> third-party stepper motor (without PXI and UMI), and make connection with PC (via RS-232 Serial connector), I have Current reduction is working - there are no current in step motor wires. But when I connect all system:
NI PXI-7340 <---> UMI-7774 <---> P70530 ----> third-party stepper motor
Current reduction is disabled - motor stay without control pulses but there are current in step motor wires, and shaft is holding.
Where can be a problem?

In the first step - Let speak about MAX.
1. I am setting inhibit output as it said in: (http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/373359b.pdf)
National Instruments Universal Motion Interface (UMI)-7774/7772 User Manual pg. 3-12:
"You must configure the National Instruments motion controller Inhibit Out signals
as active-low for proper operation of the inhibit logic on the UMI-7774/7772."
So here is screenshoot of my Inhibit Out signals in atachment.
2. And the Switch settins of UMI board I have made as in:

Getting Started with the P7000 Series Stepper Drives pg. 22:
Fault - Active low, Enable - Active high, (And LIMIT LED - Active high).
3. And I have Active Open - Enable Polarity setting in P7000 Software.
With these settings, there are not any lighting LEDs on UMI and motor is driving (starting, stoping, accelerating, decelerating...), but when I am pressing Kill axis, Disable LED on UMI board become light, but (and it is defferent with my last post, why I have got "Amplifier is disabled" - blinking green LED - yesterday I can't understand) LED on P7000 is not blinking - it is mean that Amplifier is Enable.
With help DMM I have measured voltage on wire and it is not changes with working axis or killed axis.
After it, I have check P70530. I have connect J4-6 (Enable-) and J4-25 (5 V Return I/O Power Source), and switcher connect: J4-5 (Enable+) and J4-19 (+5V I/O Power Source). When switcher On - I have a "Amplifier is disabled" - it mean - P70530 is working.
After I start interesting - what kind of signal I have on UMI Enable Output. (The best way is to investigate signals on HDB26M-DB15M NI-cabel But because it is unassemble, I decide to investigate signals on free Control connector of UMI-7774). And I have got almost square pulses - see atachment. (It is between Control conector Pin 15 - Iso Common and - Pin 6 - Enable) . And there is no depend axis killed or not... Is it normal or maybe I have made something wrong (I have connected V with Viso and C with Ciso - I have not separate power)? I have thought that it must be constant level, and when press Kill axis it must change.
So I think, I need to check HDB26M-DB15M NI-cabel, and I will try to do it on Monday.

Regarding your keyboard problem, it seems to be a very low-level problem. The driver cannot access the Control Registers on the Keyboard. By going down from your error message to the lowest level, one can see that it's probably a simple "outb" operation (write data on a specified address, shouldn't fail if the address is correct...) that doesn't succeed.
So I think you defintely need to look in your BIOS if you didn't deactivate something when upgrading, or messed with some address space, or many things I cannot think of right now.

Current line option disabled in the ForEach block

I am having a scenario where i m using block step with Mode as "ForEach". I could select Multiline variable in "Multiline Element" but when I try to select "Current Line" it is not allowing to select the variable of type Abstract interface (in the pop-up the interface variable option is disabled).
Has anybody faced this problem? Thanks in advance.

This is an old thread, but I thought I'd post a response for anyone else encountering this.
You will need to create a container element of the same type specified in the "Multiline" property of your block. The new element should not be multiline and should have the scope of your block.

Web Fonts (WOFF) are only blurry in Firefox v32.0 (Current) with ClearType Disabled

I see this question has been asked in different ways but perhaps not in such a direct manner. I'm on a fresh load of Windows 8.1 with a default setting of ClearType Disabled. Web Fonts render perfectly fine in all browsers except for Firefox. In Firefox, they appear blurred or pixelated. When I enable ClearType they suddenly are fine in Firefox. Oddly if I then disable ClearType and logout and then login, they are still fine. I see that Google Chrome previously had a similar issue but understand they fixed the issue in Chrome. Is this an issue that needs to be addressed by Firefox? Are antialias properties going to be advanced in CSS to possibly force fonts to render properly? (Fonts are stored locally on the same domain as the website.)

I understand that you are asking about why when ClearType is disabled Firefox has blurry font.
If you take a look at the about:config entries on the page and search for cleartype, you will see that gfx font rendering is set to false. However for downloadable fonts it is true. It may be that you were on a site that had a downloadable font, or hosted on the web server host. There is also a force use for certain type in gdi classing family and max size. These can be changed by the user, however those are the default values currently.
You can leave feedback for the developers about this in input.mozilla.org as well.

USB Current Draw message & disabling

Hi,
I've begun to get a new 'USB Current Over Draw' error message on my MacBook Pro when I connect my Panasonic DMC-FX8 digital camera via its USB cable. I've seen some references to this error message when connected to a USB hub. However, my camera is directly connected to the USB port on my MBP. (yup tried both ports, get same error message).
Only way to regain use of USB ports seems to be via reboot, but message persists when I connect the camera again.
Is there an easy remedy for this? annoyances like this are what is making a long time windows user, recent switcher and mac enthusiast somewhat disillusioned by the 'ease of use' perception of Macs (the new TV ads showing Macs working better with Japanese & other cameras seems somewhat ironic).

Not all USB ports are equal,and its quite possible that the USB headers for your front USB ports don't supply enough Amps for the drive. I have a portable HDD that came with a USB cable with 2 USB connectors on the PC side. I need to use both when I use it on my laptop or on my P45 front USB headers. One is however sufficient when using the PC's own USB ports.
It is for this reason that WD actually sells such a cable aftermarket, as many users experience the same problem.

How to enable only current row and disable others?

when i click this "Add Row" button a new row should be created with editable text boxes for all 3 columns. and the existing row should become display only row.

NI Stepper Motor not putting out enough torque

So I have a motion control system with a P70360, UMI 7772, PXI 7332, and a NEMA 23 stepper motor with 380 oz-in. The purpose of the set up is to rotate horizontally a testing fixture and hold it in position (slowly). Previously the set up was using a motor with 180 oz-in but it was decided that it wasn't enough torque seeing as it wasn't able to fully rotate the fixture, also using a step resolution of 18000, current reduction is disabled, multistepping is enabled, dynamic smoothing is minimal, and load-inertia ratio is set to 0-1.
When the 380oz-in motor was plugged in it was still unable to rotate the platform completely but it wasn't even able to rotate it as far as the 180 oz-in which leads me to believe it was outputting less torque than it should have been. The only reasoning I could think of for this was that there was an issue with the settings somehow where it was limiting the power being fed into the motor for whatever reason. So I walked through the manual (http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/372324d.pdf) and it still wasn't giving enough torque.
I also read that decreasing the step size would increase the torque so I reduced it to 200 and it started making a grinding noise, which made everyone in the lab stare at me and start laughing... I immediately hit the kill motor button (I've been controlling it using NI MAX).
So far I can't seem to find anything that mentions the motor making a grinding noise or not pulling enough torque while using the P70360 so here I am asking the community. Why is the motor making the grinding noise (which also seems to become less the higher the step resolution is) and why isn't the motor putting out more torque?
Also of note, I'm an electrical engineer, meaning my understanding of mechanical terms is limited to the basics.

I can't get too specific about the dimensions but it's a rectangular platform about 8 inches wide and 25 inches long (axis of rotation goes through the long way). There are also the UUT seating on one side which is what's causing the imbalance but by placing my lab notebook on the other side it balances out. I would estimate my book to weigh around 2 pounds.
The exact weight I'm not sure, the platform is attached to two stands through some type of bearings and the motor is turning a part of the shaft that is sticking out slightly.
On another note though, I decided to attach a oscilloscope to the motor to verify the signals were correct. I had made all the connections, double checked them to make sure all my connections were correct and weren't shorting then turned on the power. As soon as I did there was a white flash from the driver, I turned off the power, and I could smell something was burning. I took the lid off but couldn't see any immediate burn marks anywhere nor was there any visible smoke, just the odor. I decided not to try it again and my principal engineer has been trying to convince me to use another companies motion system. So sadly this may be the last well funded venture into NI motion control I take.
I'm still going to try to get in touch with a rep and see what I can do about it including taking into consideration the possibility of a gearbox but it's going to have to be on my spare time :'(

I'm deploying FF13 in my organization, how can i disable FF from disabling all plugins/extensions by default?

Our organization requires web services with many plugins. In order to support the latest browsers, we must deploy FF13 company wide. Currently the installation disables all 3rd party plugins by default, requiring you to enable them manually. Therefore, this makes managing a FF13 deployment very difficult. Is there any way to configure it to deploy without it disabling plugins?

Do you really mean plugins (Tools > Add-ons > Plugins) or do you mean extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions)?
Firefox shouldn't disable plugins unless they are blacklisted, but will display a dialog that shows which (third-party) extensions are found an allow to enable third party extensions.<br />
There is probably no way to avoid such an alert, but you can try to copy extensions to the distribution/extensions folder where also the default theme resides.

How to maintain the hover state of a button while it is in it's current page?

I just made the currently selected button disabled when it is in the current page but I just cant figure out on how to maintain it in its hover state (It keeps on returning to its normal state). Disabling subscreen fields..

hi,
i have a screen with a subscreen that has a tabstrip with 5 tabs.
during one of the operations i need to disable all the fields in all the screen areas of that screen inclduing the subscreen tabstrip fields.
its not working, in my PBO module i write as follows:

only the fields of the current screen are disabled. the fields in the tabstrip in subscreen are still in input mode !! what to do ?

Disable a field in selection screen

     I have a field in the selection screen and currently i am disabling in the code like:

my problem is that if i choose a variant and if it has a value for group then it
overwrites it.
is there any way where i can avoid it?

Yes, I believe that you can check for the variant, then clear it out. Check against sy-slset. This will hold the variant name if one is being used.

Disable Thumbnail Video Preview Scrubbing?

Hi,
I'm trying to oprganize a large library of video files on a new/fast MacBook Pro with plenty of RAM. I notice that as I bring a folder of say 100 video clips into LightRoom, the machine slows down for a very long time. It seems like this is due to LR creating smaller scrub-over previews for the thumbnail (Poster View) grid. Is there current way to disable this? It's a nice feature thought, but holy resource hog, Batman!

There is also a secondary issue if the comptuers have

yeah, I could understand that, but the 2 machines do NOT have the same name, and I've set up different address book entries...one doesn't have ANY accounts active...raw machine that I just want to get the Bonjour chatting to work...
interestingly, it works MUCH better on a computer to computer network than it does with the 2 machines just accessing a Airport express that is NOT connected to the internet.

Disable read mode by default during installation

I am currently trying to disable read mode by default as a part of the software installation.
I have searched the msi file using the customization wizard but have not found any part of it that refers to this setting.
Is there a reg key or a setting in the MSI I can change to disable this setting?

Is it safe to disable simplepass from startup?

it only asks to swipe after a crash.
so if i were to disable it, does that mean i wouldn't be able to log in after a crash, or it would bypass it completely?

Still applies -- If you have disabled the password login and that login method fails, you may be stuck.
How stuck depends on which Operating System you are running - how well you know the system, your skill set, how close you are to help.
You need a viable login method that does not fail or an alternate system on which you can count when one method fails.
This does not mean you must use the fingerprint scanner -- it means you must have a reliable means of getting into the computer and that you do not outsmart yourself if the method you use fails. Bypassing the password and switching off the scanner and not having another account available with a password that you can use in an emergency might be tempting fate. If you know how get into the system on the cmd line, create an account using cmd line, set the account type, then log into the system, fix the login setup, you are OK.
I am not trying to be rude -- I am being realistic. We have seen it. Folks do not want to type in a password, do not want to use the scanner, do not want to use a picture password -- they want it to be easy -- and Poof! It falls apart and the system locks up.
The easier solution might be to create an extra admin privleged account, a local account, that you do not use -- keep it around with a nice password that you keep in a secure place -- and then do whatever you want with your current account. Disable the SimplePass, remove it, don't use a password -- whatever. Just do not leave yourself in a situation where you do not know enough to save yourself if it breaks.
It is not going to break at 3:30 in the afternoon on a Tuesday. It is going to break in the middle of the night when everything else has already gone wrong that day and your stock market is in the toilet.

Put the important stuff on a USB stick -- and keep it close. Don't leave critical data where you cannot get to it if the computer dies.
