P7800 7.1 speakers on vista

ok well here is a new dumb problem, i could (while configuring and testing the speakers) get 5. at least, which i wouldnt mind til vista or creative comes out with a driver, but even thought 5. worked in testing , it doesnt on the real computer, only 3....... so creative, ya think you could at least solve this one without me buying an expensi've soundcard from another company, i hear creatives dont work on vista?

goat99,
The speaker has nothing to do with Vista OS since there's no software linkage between the hardware and OS. If you're having problem with the sound output, you should seek out the latest driver available for your soundcard. If it's a Creative soundcard, you can check the download pages and see if there's any Vista compatible driver for it.

  • P7800 Not all speakers working

My P7800 7.1 speakers work except for the side speakers, 2 of them. The rest work fine. I have gone to the control panel and adjusted for 7.1 speakers and downloaded the latest update for my onboard sound card which is on my EVGA 590 SLI AMD motherboard, I have also checked to see if that motherbaord is compatible with 7.1 or 8 channels and it does in fact say it is compatible with 8 channels, so... I have tried everything. Any help would be great
    Thanks in advance.

  • No Audio - External Speakers - Running VISTA x64 Ultimate

I have seen numerous references to this problem in the forum archives... but no solutions yet.
I run Vista x64 Ultimate natively on the Mac Pro - no VMware or other emulation software.
Everything works great EXCEPT audio: I have searched and searched and need an expert.
All OSX, Firmware, and Bootcamp drivers are up to date.
Realtek Audio doesn't not recognize the rear external audio port. I plugged in / out / in etc., nothing. All audio comes from the internal tower speaker.
My speakers use the standard analog jack, they are new Bose MusicMonitor speakers.
    Things I have done:
Vista Audio Settings - all ok, all set to max, double checked - nothing.
New Realtek Audio Drivers - tried installing newer version - nothing.
    Reinstalled Bootcamp Drivers - nothing.
Reinstalled Bootcamp Drivers (original disk) + Bootcamp Vista Drivers (new release) - nothing.
BTW - the speakers work just great under OSX - they produce awesome sound - so it's not a hardware issue.
Thanks - I hoping someone has discovered a solution!

    P.S. I have the X-Fi Platinum.
I left that out in my original post.

My question is shoul I only?need to connect the each speaker audio cable to the three Line-Out(green-Lineout6, black-Lineout3, orange-Lineout4) on the soundcard and my speaker system will?work fine? or?should I need to buy 4 new rca cables for this to get my speaker system working fine?.

Looks like Creative has managed to screw up Windows 7 along with Windows 8. Maybe if I go back to Win95 things will work.
If you are playing from a stereo source(only two channels, right and left) then you aren't going to have playback on all of your speakers, to have that you need to tell the console launcher to replicate the stereo signal to the rest of your speakers.

Same problem here as well i have everything set to 00% volume and never had this problem until windows 7 now i have no volume at all period enless i go 5% or higher with volume control and alot of things are too loud even at 5% and i wish i could just put it at -4%.
Worked fine on XP , It seems to be the x-fi cards are just a cluster fk when it comes to windows 7 i have had nothing but trouble with my card since i installed windows 7 and enless creative gets o nthe ball and fixes these issue i won't be buying anymore of there cards i have always stuck with creative thru the years but it seems ALOT of the threads on this forum are issue related to windows 7 and x-fi cards with issue dating back to oct 09 and still no fixes released or even a reply from creative team at all as to whats goin on. Everyone is just being left in the dark from what i been reading and getting no answers and i think for how much the cards cost especially when they were new and more expensi've people should be able to use there cards and not wait 6 mnths for a fix or even a fix at all for that matter.
I am just glad i only have a 4. system right now because reading the forums it seems anything?5. or higher?isn't working right either on windows 7 and hasn't been working right since last year and still no fix for it yet and alot of people are getting very angry they are stuck using 2. with there 6. sound systems.

  • Low sound in vista

hi guys i have just reinstalled vista, and now i installed all the stuff of mr. daniel_k for audigy 2 zs but the sound is too low, much lower than before - 50% or more ( i had my zs unrecognized once by vista but before reinstalling vista), now i must put everything (vol in my speaker and in windows) in maximum to have the normal vol. I replug the card but still can't solve it.help me plz - i have never got this problem b4

It's a good idea to upgrade your BIOS with the latest avaliable from your motherboard vendor. Then you should optimize your BIOS for improved audio quality:
-Increase VGA Shared Memory Size if you are using an onboard graphics card.
-Set AGP Aperture Size (MB) to half of the system's RAM or lower.
    -Toggle Peer Concurrency.
    -Toggle Spread Spectrum Control
    -Toggle Memory Hole
-Enable AGP Fast Writes if your graphics card supports it.
-Change PCI Latency Timer ( starting with 32).
-Invoke dual-channel memory mode on the motherboard. Systems that are not configured in dual-channel mode can experience crackling during games. For more information about invoking dual-channel mode, please refer to your motherboard manufacturer.
-Ensure that the SATA hard dri've is not conflicting with PCI memory resources. Changing to a different controller may help.
    To fix your problem:
Try to disable onboard audio in your computer's BIOS, then unplug your card from the PCI slot1. After then, uninstall your onboard audio drivers, and do a cleansweep for your audigy drivers too.
Follow these steps for driver uninstallation:
    1. Open Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager - browse Sound, video and game controllers - right click on Creative SB Audigy 2 - Uninstall - in the new window, select "Delete driver software for this device" then click OK
    2. In Control Panel - Add or Remove Programs also uninstall all Creative software (including Audio Console)
    3. Browse to the C:\Temp and C:\Windows\TEMP (if it exists) folders. All files and folders in the temp folder need to be either deleted or moved to a new folder.
    4. Browse to Program Files, Creative and delete the Sound Blaster Folder. If a file won't delete, right click on the file, click Properties and clear all the Attributes. The file should then be able to be deleted.5. Restart your computer in safe mode, and delete the remaining files and clean your registry with Driver Sweeper.
    5. Empty the Recycle Bin and shut down your PC.After this, choose an other PCI slot for the card. If it's possible, put your card to the farthest slot relati've to your graphics card. After you turn on your computer, cancel the Windows hardware recognition, and install?either driver you want (I recommend you to use the officially avaliable?2.2.0002 driver to fix your volume?problems?till the 2.8.0000. It will come in late July or early August.) After the driver installation, set Full Range speakers in Vista's speaker configuration, and do the speaker test. Then set 2.0 settings, and you're done.
Good luck, and don't hesitate to post any questions if you need further assistance.

  • Vista Ultimate 64-bit OEM edition & USB Audigy 2

Need help, please. Im so confused now (after reading thru these forums all day) as to what exactly I need to do to get my brand new USB Creative Audigy2 NX working with my Vista Ultimate 64bit OEM edition. Every other thing I have on my pc works just fine, except this stupid USB audigy2 NX. I just got rid of my XtremeMusic pci card as Im lacking space inside the PC, and spent big $$$ on this USB unit. But it doesnt work
!!! I can get all the control panels working (such as bass settings, eax etc) but I simply get NO sound whatsoever. Whereas the sound works fine thru the motherboard ports (asus P5N32-sli deluxe with lga775 3.80ghz chip + 4gig 667mhz OCZ ram)? Can someone please tell stupid old me how to get the USB Creative Audigy2 NX working in 5. speakers in Vista 64bit Ultimate ? I dont understand what I need to do. I believe the latest July drivers dont work (well, they dont give me any sound), the february drivers dont seem to be working for me, do I use the XP64bit drivers? What do I need to do? Got print out upon print out from these forums here in front of me, spent 5hrs last night trying to get it working to no avail, and now I think Ive read to many different things and have no idea of where to start. Suggesstions plz? Whats the basic & easy answer ?cheers in advance.

9hours later and Ive given up. I cant get the Vista 64 Ultimate to work with the Audigy 2Nx usb sound card. Im very angry and very frustrated (not to mention very tired from the 2 late nights Ive spent trying to work it out). Im not a PC-noob, but am only 4days into my Vista ownership................... Im guessing now, after much research, that there will never be a driver that gets these units to work with Vista 64bit. thats pretty weak Creative. However, I dont want to use crappy onboard sound for my gaming. What is the suggestion?Should I be looking at returning this unit, and buying either the X-Fi Xtremegamer?Fatality Pro as?a highend device, or the X-Fi Xtremegamer for $00 less? Or should I be looking at another manufacturer. Would either of these x-fi gamers work with Vista 64bit Ultimate?suggestions please?

  • Sound - No Front/Center Speakers (5.1) with Realtek HD Sound on m9500z in Win7-64 bit

Just upgraded my new HP Pavilion quad core m9500z PC from Vista Home Premium-64 to Win7 Ultimate-64.  It has this built in Realtek HD sound card that supports 2.1, 5.1 and 7.1.  My Creative Inspire 5.1 speaker system will not play the front/center speakers (the green plug) on this PC.  The HP and MS sites quote a conflict with the HDMI video usage as the problem.  Uploaded the latest driver recommended by HP from MS, but no fix.  I am using the white rectangular plug that came with the Acer P221w monitor, not the smaller USB-like HDMI plug as the Acer monitor does not give that option.  I would hate to go back to a serial video interface to get the sound right.  Any suggestions?  (Never tested the speakers in Vista before upgrading since I upgraded out of the box.  They worked great on my old XP box.)

  • 5.1 sound not working

I have a X-Fi fatalty titanium champion series sound card with logitech z5500 5. speakers running vista x64 sp. I cannot fully utilize the 5. speakers for some reason. I have updated to the latest drivers, selected 5. speakers from both windows and the creative console launcher but then i get some butchered sound from only the front left and right speakers. I know the other speakers work bc if i only use 2. then i get the sound but it lacks the entire 5. stereo effects. Please [email protected]

Ive tried all those options but nothing. Device manager also says it is Creative SB X-fi. whats also suspicious is that if i use the sound card built into the motherboard, i get the same problem.
When testing the speakers i only have sound from the front left and right speakers. the others are silent. thats through both the vista tester and Creative tester
If that's the case I strongly suggest you test the speaker's connections out, probably on a separate PC if possible!

  • No sound from new computer

I purchased a HP Pavillion a6700f  with Vista last month and tried to hook up my four year old self powered Boston Acoustic 735 digital speakers to it.  It uses a single analog line that I plugged into the green jack on the back of the computer as indicated in the instructions.  No joy.  I updated the Realtek driver and still no success.  I took the speakers into work and plugged them into the HP there (using xp) and they work fine.  After three hours of the India tech guys taking control of my system, I was informed that Vista does not support speakers that worked on the XP operating system and I would have to buy a new set (which he was only too happy to sell to me at that time).  Supposedly there is a tech report that speaks to this issue, but the tech guy could not provide me with a number or web address for it.  I have had no success finding it.  Does anyone know if this is true?  If not, any clues on what other options I have?

OK. First make sure you those the kind of speakers that need to be powered via the power adapter and that you have a green audio plug. The orange connector used in older models don't have that port needed on any new pc anymore.
I call bullcrap (excuse my language, but can't keep quite to a such a Tech's comments, being a technician myself) that you need to get "vista" speakers. There's no such thing as XP speakers or Vista speakers. Speakers don't need drivers and are not related to the Operating System any way way, shape or form. All you do is power them and plug them in depending on your configuration.
Make sure they're plugged in the back of the computer via the greem front audio output color coated port and make sure they are turned on and that the volume isn't muted.
Then in Vista, login the pc, look on the bottom right of the comuter screen next to your clock, there's a white speaker icon. Just go with the mouse over it and it should say this:
    Volume xxx
    Speakers
    Realtek Digital xxxxxxxxx
If instead of speakers it says HDMI Output or Realtek Digital Output then it's set to the wrong playback device. So rightclick on that white speaker icon, choose Playback Devices and when the new windows comes up look in the middle. It should say Speakers, Enabled, Working. Also make sure it has the green check mark on it.
If it doesn't rightclick on the grey speakers picture and choose Set as Default Device and then Apply or OK and restart the pc.
Also on the top choose the Sounds tab and make sure it says Windows Default sound scheme and also check the voume and make sure it's not muted or low.
    Best of luck.

  • 5.1 Sound in Vi

I would just like to confirm this, as I found it popping up a lot while trying to troubleshoot my speakers. Right now I have an X-Fi card and cannot get my rear/center speakers to work without enabling the CMSS-3D. The 5. speakers work when I test it in the Vista control panel, but not once I start listening to music/gaming with CMSS-3D disabled. I'd just like to know if there is or isn't a way to fix this so that I don't waste a lot of time trying to find a solution.
If 5. just doesn't work properly on Vista, is it a Creative only problem? Are there any other sound cards out there that I could purchase in the meantime in order to get my 5. working properly? Thanks!

Even if you select more than 2 speakers in Vista, the original source of sound will need to support the extra speakers in order to be mapped to those speakers. So playing say a MP3 on a 5. system with no processing features of the card enabled (such as CMSS-3D) will only result in sound from the front 2 speakers because that is all that are contained in the file. If you are just referring to testing the speakers in the surround sound config panel in Vista, I don't know what to suggest as it seems to work fine for me. As far as DVD's, you'll need DVD playback software that supports Dolby Digital or DTS decoding in order to get 5. sound. As far as sounds coming from the wrong speakers... I have no clue. I lost count of how many times I installed and uninstalled the Creative drivers/software in XP because of that problem. I never did figure out what it was causing it, but it hasn't happend to me yet in Vista. While researching the issue it did seem that a lot of the people with the problem were using Logitech webcams.Message Edited by jasonamd on 06-0-200706:28 PM

  • No sound through speak

Hey all this is my first time on these boards. I purchased a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 nx a couple days ago and love it. I plugged in some headphones and the sound was amazing. My problem is when I plug in my speakers I get nothing. They are Boston Acoustics model BA5700G. They are pretty old but still work great with my other card. Its a 4 speaker setup with a sub. I already tried plugging in a crappy 2 speaker setup and it worked just fine. Any ideas or help would really be great.

    Mascorona,
I suspect that your Boston Acoustics are digital speakers. Unfortunately the Audigy 2 NX does not have a digital DIN connector that these speakers can use. Your best solution would probably be to use this as an opportunity to upgrade your speakers to 5. or 7..
I would highly recommend one of these sets of speakers:
