I buy new same motherboard P7N Diamond and work perfect but the old it still have problem...
Why didn't you just RMA the previous board? If I am reading what you're saying correctly.

If you're having trouble making changes to files that are inside your home folder (represented by a house icon in the sidebar of a Finder window), or if you can't get changes to the settings of an application to stick, then please see below.
    Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, they may not work as described.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR..; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_; chmod -R -N ~ $_; } 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take a few minutes to run, or perhaps longer if you have literally millions of files in your home folder. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password dialog will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
In the dialog, select the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if it's not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if it's not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • Users running the P7N Diamond and QX9650 please weigh in. I need help...

OK, I'll start from the beginning.  I had an EVGA 780i mobo, which ran a Q6600 at 3ghz quite easily.  Well, I decided that I had money to burn so I ordered a QX9650.  It would not work on the EVGA, the cpu voltage and cpu fsb voltage would not adjust no matter what I tried.  So, I popped the cpu into my kids rig, which has a DFI X38 mb and the cpu worked perfectly, voltages adjusted, multiplier adjusted, etc.  During the RMA process to EVGA, I got an MSI P7N Diamond to run SLI with.  Stuck the cpu in it and away I went into Vista 64, all happy.  I had to bump the memory voltage up to 1.95 volts, but that was it.  I then decided to raise the multi from 9 to 10.  I set it, warm booted and tested it in Vista.  100% stable.  2 days later, I attempted to turn my computer on.  No post.  I had to power off/on very quickly to get it to post, at which point I got an error message that the cpu vid had failed or there was a mismatch with the cpu to fsb ratio, hit F1 to enter setup or F2 to load defaults.  I e-mailed MSI and received beta P05 and it was just downhill from there.  I couldn't cold boot at all, stock settings, OC settings, voltages adjusted, it didn't matter.  So back to the shipping bios.  I got a new beta this morning, dated 2/18, and it was the exact same.
    Issues with both beta's:
    1.  Cannot cold boot.
    2.  Logitech G15 acts erratically prior to entering Vista.
    Things I have tried:
    1.  Raising Vcore.
    2.  Raising NB/SB voltages.
    2.  Raising FSB Terminator voltage.
Nothing helps.  MSI simply told me not to OC and run at stock and that there was no problem.  Is there anyone else out there that has this cpu and mb?  If so, can you post your experience with it and let me know if there is something I am doing wrong or could try?

Below is the actual transcript that I had with MSI on this issue.  As far as they are concerned, I don't need to change the multiplier on my QX9650.  (Start reading from the bottom up for the actual order of the conversation)
    Quote
MSI Tech. 02/19/2008 Then, there is no problem with the mb.
End User 02/19/2008 There doesn't seem to be any issues with usb while on using the shipping bios, I only see it when I flash to the beta bios'.
MSI Tech. 02/19/2008 If the stock bios also has the usb issue then try: Have all USB device connected to the rear USB ports that are build onto the mb and retest with all USB header on the mb be removed from any front USB connections or adapter connections and retest. If all steps have been tried and problem still persists then please kindly refer to our website for manufacturer warranty RMA info/request: http://www.msicomputer.com/support/CustomerS.asp
End User 02/19/2008 No change. I cannot even cold-boot at stock settings with this. Also, it still kills my Logitech G15 keyboard randomly. i have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to power up, and that is only after I boot into Vista. Back on the shipping bios for now at stock settings. Please, if you would, keep me informed of changes or progress. Thanks.
End User 02/19/2008 Thanks! I will poat back if it helps or not.
MSI Tech. 02/19/2008 Beta bios v111 attached to this form.
End User 02/19/2008 Is there any other beta bios' that you have that could help? The P05 didn't work out so well, maybe you have a newer one that I could try? It seems odd that it is only on a cold boot that I have issues and not on warm boots. I am willing to try anything you got at this point!
MSI Tech. 02/19/2008 Sorry, but MSI did not see any issue with using QX9650 processor.
End User 02/19/2008 So are you saying that as far as MSI is concerned, there is no issue with the QX9650 and the P7N Diamond motherboard? I am not asking you for advice on hot to OC it, I am asking you if you know of the issue and are looking into it to try and correct it. If you do not think there is an issue and are not going to investigate it, then I will be very disappointed.
MSI Tech. 02/19/2008 If there is no problem with standard bios and no OC then you can refer to other website/forum for OC suggestions or settings. MSI does not provide these setting/suggestions since it can cause damage to the components.
End User 02/19/2008 Also, I am unable to use the Dual Core center, as I am running Vista 64. It does not load properly when using this OS.
End User 02/19/2008 As of now, it boots and runs fine with the shipping bios and no OC. But, why would I have paid such a high premium to get a QX9650, that has an unlocked multiplier, if I cannot use it? Is this strictly an issue with the newer 45nm Intel processors or is it something else? If not being able to use my cpu's unlocked multiplier is "ok", then I may return the board for a refund.
MSI Tech. 02/18/2008 What is the problem when system uses the standard bios and not OC?
End User 02/18/2008 Is there a fix on the way or is it just a problem with my hardware? I have it back on the shipping bios and it is at least cold-booting now, as well as my G15 is working. I upped the NB voltage a hair above auto, maybe this has somethinng to do with it?
MSI Tech. 02/18/2008 Use the standard bios and use software to OC: http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=utility&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1372
End User 02/18/2008 I was way too quick to say everything is OK. I now have cold boot issues aplenty. 9 times out of 10 it will not post on a cold boot, but will warm boot. I have to power off then on real quickly to get it to post at stock speeds. Also, my Logitech G15 started to act erratic with the P05 beta. I am back on the shipping bios until I hear from you.
End User 02/18/2008 Thanks you for the beta. I flashed to it, cleared the cmos and set everything back up and now I have a new problem. Even though I have disabled the EIST function in the bios, it still seems to be on. i am using cpu-z version 1.44.1 to monitor the multiplier and it randomly shifts between whatever I set it to and 6. It is even doing it when the system is loaded, ie playing games. Please, help!
MSI Tech. 02/18/2008 Beta bios attached to this form.
End User 02/18/2008 Everything is stable 100%. But, on my QX9650, I set the multiplier to 10X to run at 10x333=3.33ghz. It was fine until this morning. I turned the computer on and it would not post. I powered down and repowered it up and it siad the cpu vid had failed or errored, hit F1 to enter setup or F2 to load defaults. I entered setup and the multiplier was set back to 9x. I left it there and am ok now. Is there a beta bios that helps out operations with the newest Intel 45nm processors, such as the QX9650?
I have absolutely no issues in Vista itself, it is 100% stable.  It is only on a cold boot that I have serious issues.  And yes, I got 3 in a row, went to work for a few hours, then came home and bam!  No cold boot.  Also, I don't know how comfortable I am raising the vcore that much, as 1.21-1.25 is the normal operating range.  1.3625 is aweful high.  Now, with the 65nm quads, that is more in the range of what would be needed, but no way should it be necessary to pushh this QX9650 to a meeger 3.33ghz.  As far as temps go, I have the processor watercooled, so no worries there.  I am away from home now until Saturday morning, so I can't test anything until the weekend.
    Thanks alot for the responses!

  • HT201317 My iPhoto keeps telling me that it is unable to connect with photo stream and when I click on Photo Stream in iCloud settings, a few minutes later, it is un checked. Please help. Photo Stream works on my iPad and iPhones, just no longer on my mac

Hi. When icloud first came out it worked well on all of my mac devices (macbook pro, ipad, iphones). However now it no longer works on my computer. When I go to system preferences it is unchecked and when I check to enable it, it tells me it can't. I also go to iCloud settings and when I check the photo stream box a few minutes later it is unchecked (which I never do). Please help.

Mmmm, I was hoping there might be a few more clues.
With little confidence you might try the following.
    Reset photostream at iCloud.com.
Log out/in of iCloud on your Mac.
    Trash your system preferences plist.

  • CQ60 Optical drive check. Please help.

I have a Compaq CQ60-422DX laptop. I did an optical drive check through the HP Support assistant software. My DVD-RW drive is working fine (plays, rips, and burns CDs and DVDs as it should). I even checked the device manager for good measure. But when I used the optical drive check on the HP support assistant software, the result came on as "Action Needed," in terms of the reading check but it doesn't tell me exaclty what the reason is and it just directs me to the general Windows Help application. What seems to be the problem? please help.

Buy Disk Warrior and use it to repair your OS X volume (if it's repairable.) If DW cannot repair the volume then use Disk Utility to reformat the volume using the Zero Data (one pass) Security option.
Do you have a backup of your OS X volume? Since you have tried using TDM to access the drive without success it's reasonable to assume your data may be lost. If you have an external hard drive you can use, then you could attempt to use file recovery software to see if your data are recoverable.
At this point it is premature to assume the drive is bad since your Windows volume is functional. If you have Windows software for reading Mac drives you may try accessing the OS X volume from Windows.
    Basics of File Recovery
    General File Recovery
If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten with recovery software such as Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro. Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive.
The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.

    Bomberh,
My bad...was thinking of the P6N Diamond..the P7N Diamond does NOT have the VTT option in Cell Menu.  Just for info, I had .500 volts on my e6750 on stock air cooling and it posted 3600mhz and the CPU temp in bios never exceeded 32 deg C.  So, what you have to do is raise the voltage to the CPU to give it a little "oomphh" to get into post and the OS.  Your Arctic cooler should be able to handle it..try 1333, increase voltage in cell menu to .375 and see what happens?  Up to .500 volts with a good air cooler w/adequate heat paste should be quite safe.  You should always stop in bios to check the Hardware Monitor and record what the CPU and System temps are when O/Cing...if you see a steadily increasing temperature you will have plenty of time to pull the plug..lol.  Keep us posted.  Like Aaron said..it's all about trial and error.

  • Availability check issue Please help

    Hey Gurus,
We created a bunch of sales order with material 8000379 with the availabilty check in the material master as "02".  We decided the change this to "KP" to no check and now we are not seeing a confirmation line for delivery in the sales order unless we delete the line item in the sales order and recreate.  This is causing us a massive problem.  We have almost 1000 sales order with this material that we woudl need to change.  Is there anyway to reread the master data for this material?
Thing to note, this material is a subcontracted material and it has a PO against it so we can't just delete the line item and recreate it on the sales order.  Is there a better solution than deleting the line item?  We are desparate for a solution.
    Sincerely,
    Nina

  • New K8N diamond plus questions please help.

Hi all well i am new to this msi site and am thinking of buying the new MSI K8N Diamond plus motherboard, the problem i have is that i have been a fan of ASUS and have had there last 3 SLI motherboards of which i have not been happy with.
Well i am totaly into overclocking and have an Opteron 165, balistix ram, 600w Enermax PSU, 2x Gainward 6800gt's,
what i am looking for is a motherboard that does what i says it will do, yes the asus a8n32 was a great motherboard but has a limitation on the voltage if useing the new E4-E6 stepping cores of which would only give a max voltage of 1.58v of which the asus spec said 1.76v.
What i am asking you chaps is is this a great motherboard, can you play with all the coms settings without any limitation, or do you think that the DFI motherboard is better.
If you can let me have some info on this motherboard that would be great, as i can not seam to get any reply from MSI about some information.
what i am looking for is what is the max CPU voltage and is there any limitation on it for some chips.
what is the max voltage for the ram
what is the max voltage for the chipset.
any help on this would be great.

Quote from: Stick on 23-February-06, 17:46:08
there is no mobo that alows 4V for the memory. i think the DFI goes up to 3.4V and you can use a DDR Booster to get to 3.8V. the only mobo that is capable to pass 3.3V is the DFI since you can have the choice to select from which rail the memory will be powered (the 3.3V or the 5V). you don't have that option in any other mobo.
Hi thanks for the mail but i have just copied this from msi about this motherboard, see below.
    1.Adjust CPU FSB Frequency:
You can adjust the desired "CPU FSB Frequency" by using "+,-" key. The default value of AMD Athlon™64 is 200MHz. The maximum value is 450MHz.
    2.AMD Overclocking Configuration (CPU Ratio):
If the CPU is Athlon™64 FX series, the ratio range is from 4 to 25.
If the CPU is Athlon™64 series, the ratio should be set according to its model number. For example, the ratio range of 3000+ is from 4 to 9, and the 3200+ is from 4 to 10.
    3.Adjust Extra CPU Voltage:
This is for adjusting CPU voltage while overclocking. Following the CPU default value, the maximum is 1.8V. The interval is 0.05V.
    4.Adjust DDR Memory frequency:
The Memclock is the major part which has four different frequencies to match many kinds overclocking memory modules. The memory frequency settings includes DRAM/FSB=1/2, 2/3, 5/6, 1/1.
    5.DDR Memory Voltage:
This is for adjusting memory voltage while overclocking. K8N Diamond Plus has a special design. We use jump to distinguish two level arrangement of voltage. In this way it can get maximum 4.1V for overclocking modules. As you can see the below pictures, the left one is the standard mode when jump hat is located at the top postion. The default value is 2.5V, and the maximum is 3.2V. The interval is 0.05V. As the right one, it is overclocking mode when jump hat is located at the under postion. The default value is 3.2V, and the maximum is 4.1V. The interval is 0.05V.
What i am asking is there any limitation on the cpu voltage like the asus a8n32 as this had a max voltage of 1.58v due to it having a limit put on it by recomendation of amd.

  • P7N Diamond 1333/1066 - Please confirm??

    Hi everyone,
    I think i know my problem now;
    I have a QX9650 that runs at 1333
a Motherboard that only supports up to 1066
RAM at 1066 (regardless of 2 gig or 4 gig)
First of all, I never wanted to overclock anything at all and now I read more forum posts it seems like the 1333 was set for people who don't mind overclocking their RAM modules - Am I correct here?
Also, I have a friend who is in the computer business that keep insisting that this configuration should work - regardless of the RAM and CPU not being 1:1 with each other. Yet I get constant problems with reboots and sytem hang ups... etc...
Would I be better off getting the P7N2 Diamond since it actually has support for 1333 RAM - meaning i'll have to buy that 1333 RAM also, which i am happy to do.  I just don't want anything overclocked.
Thanks for hearing me out - Please reply even if it sounds like i'm on the right track - or wrong lol.

FSB=1333 MHz is an effective rating and means 333 MHz real clock speed.
DDR2-1066 is also an effective rating and means 533 MHz real clock speed.
With an FSB clock speed of 333 MHz (1333 MHz effective) your memory would by operating synchronously @333 MHz real clock speed (1:1) which equals DDR2-667 MHz.

  • P7N Diamond & OCZ SLI Ready Help Needed

Hey all been a lurker here for a bit and now that I am getting my machine finally setup I need some desperate help.
I can not get my system to post with 8gb (4x 2GB DDR2 PC2 6400 SLI Ready 5-4-4 @2.10v) memory installed. I can get it to boot with a single stick but nothing else, I've shuffled them all around tried booting with just 4gb and I always get a BSOD with a stop 0x0000007E or at the very least the machine wouldn't even install vista x64. Finally in desperation I stuck in a pair of OCZ 2gb x 2 DDR2 800 Gold and the machine boots and runs fine.
Prior to all this though being that this board was a Newegg open box I had it installed in a test rig to ensure everything worked but I only had it running with 4GB of the SLI Ready instead of the full 8GB and it was working fine and would overclock my x3350 just fine. When I switched the motherboard to my main machine (which is watercooled) I put in my SLIed pair of 8800GTS 512's along with the 8GB of Ram. This watercooled machine has a 1010Watt OCZ GamerXstream PSU (previous setup was a 680i LT with a Q6600 and 4GB of ram versus the 8GB all other parts are the same). So to say the least I'm rather puzzled by what's going on here, I should have sufficient wattage for everything, all help and suggestions, aside from get bent, will be greatly appreciated, and if you solve my problems you can have my sister! Only other change that happened was that I had to remove the back 2 120mm x 38mm Silenx fans due to their bearings being toasted.

Welcome to the forum. You may want to make a hardware sig people can refer to while trying to assist. What vdimm and timings are you setting? What bios are you on. The more details you can provide about everything the better people will understand and may offer better suggestions.
edit: BTW what does your sister look like?

  • P7N Diamond Voltage info please

Sorry about the dumb question, i new to this tweaking lark.
I'm trying to have a little tinker in the bios and i can't seem to gain access to the voltages, they are currently on auto but
i am unable to change them to manual, i know i'm missing something very simple but i don't want to start trying random options to unlock the voltages.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Kebamo, this threw me off as well.  The rest of the world uses "greyed out" to mean you can't change the values, but MSI uses "greyed out" to mean it is the default value.  Like Aaron said, the numeric + and - keys work fine.

  • P7N Diamond Problem or VGAs Problem, Please help!!!

I have just purchased a P7N DIAMOND Mainboard. I hope it can support me to run 2 Giga 9800 GX2. Unfortunately, there was a problem, and I am not sure whether problem comes from mainboard or the VGAs. The problem was that I pressed the power button to start up the mainboard, but my LCD did not show anything except darkness. I wonder that my mainboard is not ready to support for 2 9800 GX2 at the moment. Therefore, I took one out and left one installed on the motherboard but the problem still occurred. The list below is my specification.
    OS: Windows Vista Ultimate
    Mainboard: MSI P7N DIAMOND
PSU: Cooler Master Real Pro 1000W
    Processor: Dual Quad Q9300
RAM: 2GH OCZ, bus 1066 (Nvidia SLI)
    VGA: 2x9800 GX2 1GH (Gigabyte)
Please help me to solve the problem. Thank in advance.

Sorry for my English. Yes, there were some led lights which indicate that my mainboard was successfully started. The lights in single 9800 GX2 also turned to green. I am pretty sure that I have connected all of the power supply to the mainboard and the VGA. But the mainboard did not show the boot screen or anything else but darkness. Too bad...
