P7N Diamond - Constant reboots

Basically the system constantly reboots on me. I am running the 1.1 BIOS downloaded from the MSI website. Any thoughts on why this is happening and how to fix it? Thanks.

I suggest that the problem stems from 8Gig 1066 ram. My setup is similar to yours and I have yet to be able to get it running stable at 1066 ... the store I had it assembled at tried for a week before giving up. I figured I could do it ... no luck.
This isn't the first time I've seen someone not able to run 8G @ 1066 ... but i've yet to see anyone post a solution.

P7n Diamond + Q6600 = Reboots over and over
I have a P7n diamond that has been in my system paired with E6850 for a while now and been running no problem. Well I picked up a Q6600 and put it in and now it reboots everytime when it starts to go into windows. No errors or anything.. Just poof and reboot.. Will sit in the bios all day long and temp in bios is 21 to 23 celcius. Anyone have any suggestions for me. I have put all the bios settings on Auto just trying to get the machine to load windows. does the same thing with Windows Vista and Windows 7. Startup screen comes up and churns and right when screen is supposed to switch to windows it reboots... Thanks for all suggestions...

Ok I can't stand this beating me.. I'm back with the q6600 and rebooting. no changes helps. has there been cases where a cpu just won't work with a motherboard?? I put the e6850 back in and boots fines. I put the q6600 in other system boots fine. just will not boot on my p7n diamond board. I've flashed to latest beta 1.3 bios. I've reset cmos.. i've done everything i know to do and no luck.... -

I've had my board up and running for around a week now and up until Saturday it had given me only a few minor problems, the first of which was a BSOD when trying to install the Jmicron drivers and the driver s for my X-FI (they do not seem to like each other). I eventually uninstalled the Jmicron drivers and disabled the controller in bios which seemed to do the trick.
For a while after that everything seemed fine got my various games installed all of which seemed to play fine ( TF2, HLF2 (EP 1 & 2), Stalker, X3). Then on Saturday I decided to install the Crysis demo and for a short time all was well, then my system just rebooted, no BSOD no error just restarted to windows this happened again and again. I also bought COD4 and the same happens with as well never in the same place just random. It also rebooted once during a norton virus scan when tried to enter My Computer
My system is running cool enough I think I have 1 105CFM 120mm intake fan, 1 side intake fan 80mm and 2 55CFM 80 mm exhaust fans the air is only ever slightly warm and that was after playing HL2 EP2 for 2/3 hours.
I am at the moment running prime 95 and so far after 3hours all is well, I am also running X3 demo (@ max settings 4xaa 16xaf)in a continuous loop in the background as well to try and trip my system up but at the moment no reboot.

You may be one of the ones like me and a few others that can only run this board stable with overclocking the cpu to 3ghz. That should be easy to do even on air, but keep an eye on it. I was unable to get viper, g.skill or patriot memory to run at 1066 with my board, at least so far, so you may have better luck than I. Except for getting your memory to work at 1066, I can almost promise that this will work for you. I also had the problem with the jmicron drivers and do not use them now.
Word of warning, too much playing around with this can lead to OS corruption, so be easy. -
P7N Diamond - Problems with different things
Hi, n0id here.
I have recently bought a computer in parts (from different web shops).
Yesterday I finally got the processor and was able to build the computer, so I started building the computer.
After about an hour of mounting the parts, I decided it was finished, so I powered it on and watched it boot.
The first thing I noticed was that if my USB Keyboard was plugged in, POST would freeze at "Initializing USB Devices".
I figured it was only temporarily, so I switched to a PS/2 Keyboard, which helped.
The next thing that happened was the BIOS was not able to find my Hard Drive (SATA). I was wondering if because the motherboard support SATAII if SATA drives wheren't compatible. I opened the case and saw that the SATA cable wasn't plugged in properly. So after putting it back in properly, I booted the computer again.
So, now that POST was running OK and BIOS found all my components, I decided to install Windows XP.
After about a minute of reading the cd (windows initializes the installation program in DOS) it stopped reading, and the computer freezed. Finally, It got to the point where I can partition the HDD. But the computer would always reboot at this point. I haven't figured out why yet.
So I connected the HD to my old computer and installed windows here. That worked.
I reconnected the HD to the new computer and after windows loaded, I got a blue screen and the computer would reboot again.
So I decided to remove some of the components. I removed one RAM module, the soundcard (Creative XFI Gamer) and unplugged the 120mm back fan. At this point I was able to format the drive and install windows without a problem.
So I decided to insert the components again, but when I then started the computer, I didn't get a picture on the monitor. I tried with a different monitor and with a different graphics card, neither of which made a difference.
At that point I went to bed because I had already spent seven hours trying to figure things out and it had gotten very late.
So now I am here asking for any guidance.
My computer specs are:

I am trying to overclock my Q6600.
Everytime the FSB is over 267mhz (2.4ghz CPU Clock) I get a BSOD: "IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL".
Then it's dumping the memory and restarting.
When Windows starts up again, the FSB is back at 267mhz.
I am using the application MSI Dual Core Center, that followed with my motherboard.
I noticed in this application that memory voltage was set to 1.9v. The memory modules I bought are 1.8v because when I bought the MSI P7N Diamond, it said it only supported 1.8v memory. aww :S
Anyway, my full specs are:

I am going to browse around the forums for similiar problems, though I thought I'd post this now.
After browsing the forums I've learned a few things.
My Q6600 has a VID of 1.3250 and the box it came with said that 1.35v is the max. So I have changed the voltage to +0.0250 and was able to clock the CPU to 2.67Ghz without a problem (temps are 33 - 36 celcius on idle.)
My question this time is: even though the box says 1.35v max will I safely be able to set the voltage higher than that?
I would assume that Intel is setting a maximum that is lower than the actual max, just to keep the processor safe. But I do not know stuff like that :P
My target is 3ghz, and if reaching that clock means I need to apply a greater voltage than 1.35v, and it isn't safe; that would totally suck.

To achieve 3ghz I supplied these settings in the BIOS:
FSB: 1333 Mhz
DRAm: 800 Mhz
EIST: Disabled
Multiplier: x9
Nb voltage: 1.35
FSB Term.: 20
CPU GTL Fef: 5
The cores are currently at 36-38 at idle, compared to 28-32 on stock clock.
I will see if I can buy some extra fans to put in the front to blow cool air into the case, and maybe buy a new cpu cooler.
Btw, the vCore is 1.3v (and it's also set to auto in bios). -
Stability Problems with P7N Diamond Continues
Big bummer. I've had this system since April, took a month to get it working as the first board I ordered was bad, this one seems to be a bum board. I've came here and a few other places, but help has been kind of hard to find.
Here's what I got:
MSI P7N Diamond
Intel QX9650
2x 2GB mushkin DDR2 1066 (XP2-8500) Timings: 5-5-5-15 2T
I have 4 HD's: all are seagate baracudas: 250, 500, 750, 1TB
MSI NX8600GT1GEZ
At this point overclocking is out of the question. All I want is a reliable PC that runs to its specifcations. RMA-ing this board is a last resort as often enough the RMA boards aren't worth a crap anyway, dont know if this is just the case with lower-end boards, but I hate having to wait, and I'm really ticked about the whole thing.
The computer reboots at random, I've found "more stable" configurations, but usually the machine will not stay running for more than 24 hours without a reboot. The most stable configurations are with the official 1.2 BIOS, setting the NB to 1.250 v, CPU Volt: Auto, SB: Auto, DRAM: 2.10, and I have manually set the memory timings: CL: 5, trcd: 5, trp: 5, tras: 15, and Command Rate: 2T. The FSB Speed: 1333, and the DRAM Speed: 1066. Temps are normal, and range from about 100 F at idle, and 120 F load on the CPU.
The voltage on the CPU is on the high side on Auto, the QX9650 can run on as little as .98 v at stock and this board is giving it 1.23 v on auto. The board also tries to set the timings on the memory to 7-7-7-24, which I feel has something to do with it.
I'm not an overclocker, I don't know what all these voltages do, I've only changed settings that have either been reccomended or have a warning setting (ie turn red).
I'll try a beta BIOS if one is available, but I was unaware that this board doesn't fully support the 45-nm CPU's.
There is NOTHING wrong with any of the hardware (except the board perhaps), I've tried other memory, PSU, even RMA the CPU, does the same thing. Everything has been tested, every possibility I can imagine, this problem has been haunting this system for months, and I'm almost to the point of buying a cheap as board that has some credibility that my hardware will work.
This is my most critical computer, I do everything on it, but I didn't buy a $300 motherboard to have these problems, or find that my CPU scores half of what it should when it is running stock, everything on this board is below stock, benchmarks are way below what they should be.
I'm up for some ideas, suggestions, if needed, I'll RMA the board, but it the return board does the same thing, I've lost all my faith in MSI. I have not tried any of my hardware on this board, I have tried other memory on this board, this is the only board I have avialable to me that support LGA775 so I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place on that. The memory I tired, couldn't tell you the exact model, but it was Apacer DDR2 800, and was listed under this board as tested memory, i do remember that much- if that helps any.
As far as overclocking, I was told that overclocking my rig would make it stable, which i feel in this case is a little more than bumping the FSB eitherway. But no this happens under "stock" settings. Orginally with the 1.0 BIOS the machine would sometimes give me a multitude of BSOD, CLOCK_INTERRUPT (A clock inttrupt was not recieved in a timely manner on a secondary processor), DRIVER_IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.
Only way to get the machine to run "stable" is to severely underclock, with the FSB at 1137 and DRAM at 1034.
Other things. Benchmarks (SiSoft Sandra Lite 2007)
CPU: Drystone: 39000 MIPS / Whetstone: 28000 MFLOPS
Memory: 7 GB/sec (1066 with correct timings)
Both appear to be under par, CPU particularly, and in the event of tinkering, only see a jump in performance when adjusting the multiplier from 9 to 10.5, which isn't stable, stable enough to run a benchmark. So I'm not sure where the problem is.

New build; P7N Diamond won't POST
I ran a few searches and couldn't come up with anything conclusive. Yes, I did read the sticky BIOS error codes and it didn't help. I powered on the PC for the first time, and all I get is a constant beep that never stops. Needless to say the PC doesn't POST. Anyone know what the continuous beep error code is exactly?
All connections have been verified and re-plugged to ensure proper contact. I'm questioning the processor, or the power supply. Any assistance or advice is greatly appreciated.

The P7N Diamond uses an 8-pin +12V CPU power connector near the top-rear of the computer. I had to use an extender to get my 8-pin powersupply plug to reach.
All power connectors are indeed plugged in, the 24 pin as well as the 8pin for the CPU. THe board is laying on my desk at the moment in a bare bones config outside the case. The 8pin connector will reach, allbeit barely. I'd just like to see some output before I worry about making the inside of the case neat and tidy.
Keep the suggestions coming please. I'd rather make this work than start RMA-ing various components. -
BIOS Post Error Beeps on P7N Diamond
Hello. I have had this board for a few days now. I was playing a windows game and got a BSOD after a few minutes. The PC rebooted and I noticed the BIOS Post beeps were different. Before this there was just one long beep, which my research tells me that everything is ok. Now when I boot up I get 3 beeps ... 1 long, followed by 2 short. I researched this as well and found the following in my situation. According to AMI BIOS Beep Codes:
1 long, 2 short - Failure in video system An error was encountered in the video BIOS ROM, or a horizontal retrace failure has been encountered.
I'm not sure what this means exactly. It suggests 2 possible errors. Does this mean my video card is bad (8800GTS 512MB)? I have no idea what the second possible error ... retrace failure ... means. I am hoping that you might shed some light on this. Much appreciated.

UPDATE: Ram MEMTEST86+ for 8 hours - no errors.
Replaced the USB keyboard connector with normal keyboard - and using a single tethered USB mouse - get 1 beep on startup.
Put in USB keyboard - get two beeps on startup.
Put in USB remote wireless mouse and get 3 beeps on startup....
Conclusion: Beeps seem to be USB related not error related.
Sierra2 below- the office deskietop being refurbished...
Added USB extension cable to link to the Dell Screen; and then connected a other couple of UBS devices to the three open ports on the board and one to the Screen [Screen is not USD2 - other ports are USB2]

All was fine until I added the 5th USB device - and then thought it was just missing the mouse driver - but on reboot - heard a few more beeps [didnt listen that closely post midnight] and got various stops eventually getting through to WIN. Then it went bellyup unstable and kept rebooting - unpredictably and intermittently but within 5 to 10 min of each windows adventure.
Removed all but the wireless keboard and the tethered mouse - and it has settled down - but am now getting three short beeps at the start. In setting this up yesterday - no beeps at all with a USB mouse and standard keyboard connector. Sound at start is maybe one beep and two short ones or three short ones - neither of us listening can tell. I guess I need to hook up the case speaker as the board speaker is pretty small.
AMI BIOS beeps diagnostix says it is likely a faulty RAM error on 2 or 3 beeps
But now, seeing this about the P7N Diamond, I am beginning to wonder if it is a USB related issue. Maybe too many USB devices. P4M900 has 2 x 2ports. Just wondering if adding more than 4 USD devices really cause unstability?? Will run MEMTEST86+ on the RAM this evening to check. Totally wierd- especially for a supposedly stable and simple board... Another P7N Diamond that cannot install XP
Current setup:
- MSI P7N Diamond motherboard
- OCZ P6400 2 X 2gb Dimms (4gb total)
- PNY nVidia GeForce 9600 GT Verto (512mb) video card
- brand new "green" 650 watt power supply
- 2 X 750gb SATA IDE Seagate drives
- Core 2 Quad Q6700 2.66 processor
XP installation starts off normally by creating partition and copying files to it. Then comes the first reboot and the XP screen with the floating line appears. As soon as it hits the first graphical screen, the mouse cursor appears and functions (moving the mouse moves the cursor), about 2 seconds into that, system reboots. After the reboot, it comes back to the first graphical screen after the windows floating line and says "Setup is being restarted......" and the reboot is continual.
- I've tried testing the RAM without issues.
- I've tried using both 1 stick of RAM and both sticks of RAM
- I tried using another known good 1gb stick of RAM
- I have tried with and without the RAID configuration
- I've tried using standard IDE as well as SATA IDE drives
- I've tried installing XP Home and XP Pro (both legit versions)
- I've tried using V.1.0, V1.1 and V.1.2.1 BETA bios
I've currently got a trouble ticket open with MSI tech support, but they tell me to swap RAM and do memory tests (both previously done!).
Nothing that I have done can get XP installed on this seutp and I am just plain frustrated. I'd *REALLY* appreciate any help or suggestions to get this running.

The symptom:
Windows XP install CD, boots properly, installs files properly... on first reboot to graphical screen it reboots after saying "Setup is restarting......" It will do this continually.
What have I done to date:
- Reduced setup to 1 2GB memory stick... no change
- Done extensive memory checks with 1 and 2 sticks of OCZ RAM and Platinum 1GB RAM all without errors... no change
- Changed to known good RAM (1 GB of Platinum DDR2 @ 533mhz)... no change
- Tried installs with and without the RAID configuration (RAID 1)... no change
- Tried using 250gb standard IDE as well as 750gb SATA IDE drives (all known good or 100% new drives)... no change
- Tried installing XP Home and XP Pro (both legit versions)... no change
- Tried using V.1.0, V1.1 and V.1.2.1 BETA bios... no change
- Tried install using Windows XP Pro with SP3 slipstreamed into the disk image... no change
- Tried using both the Bios Failsafe settings and Optimized Default settings... no change
- Tried the SPREAD SPECTRUM settings both enabled and disabled... no change
Question, could it be a bios setting that could unlock this mystery from hell for me somehow?

I'm doing my 3rd build over the years (haven't done one for the last 2 years). I have done so far everything with extreme caution as don't want to mess up anything (I have had the case together already for the last 2 weeks and haven't even had chance to fire up even one game ). So far I have stayed away from trying over clock anything since my rig is not even stable with stock settings (plus I'm newb so I'm not ready to over clock yet). Haven't adjusted anything in Bios except DRAM voltage to 2.10 (recommended factory settings) and the timings 4-4-4-15 (again recommended factory settings). Everything fired up with first go but when I started to intstall drivers then I started to run into problems. I'm running XP Pro 64 and these are the drivers that I have used used so far:
Mobo: 9.64_nforce_winxp64_english_whql
GPU: 169.21_forceware_winxp_64bit_english_wh ql
X-Fi drivers: the ones that came with CD as cant find any from the internet that would go for XP64
I did not install Media Shield and I didn't install any software with X-Fi.
My main problem is that whenever I'm trying to install some software or drivers, the system keeps crashing by just rebooting from the middle of the install. It also kept crashing when I had that that software installed (volume control etc) that came with X-Fi, when ever I had mp3 playing and wanted to increase volume. I'm not sure if its any important but I have run Prime95 Small FFT Torture Test for 2 hours and everything was OK. But my my computer still keeps crashing randomly when I'm trying to install anything. Sometimes it takes like three attempts before I manage to install something. My own theory is that it has something to do with the X-Fi drivers.
All ideas are welcome, as I have no idea what do try next.

Tried few different slots. Same old story, computer keeps crashing when trying to install some software. As a side note its quite random. Sometimes it crashes with first software I try to install, sometimes with second or third. It doesent have any preference which program it likes more or less. Sometimes if it doesn't install some certain software with first run I may be able to install it with second or third run. Quite random thing. There isn't any specific pattern that I have discovered (well except the fact it only becomes unstable after I install those drivers. Everything is so random.

Tried those Youp_Pax_XFIAudio&XFIXpressAudioV1.01 drivers and it produces following message:
"Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system. Please ensure that your product is properly installed before running this Setup program. Setup will exit." (and it only gives me an option to press "OK")
I also did a fresh Windows XP 64 install and tried again. No luck as it still prompts me with the same message. As a side note, I am able to install those drivers that come with the CD. So therefore I believe my product is properly installed. But that could be just me still doing something wrong (but it doubt).
I'm also going through these issues with MSI online support. They are very helpful, but so far there isn't much breakthrough. This is their last advice:

Using that driver results with the same error message when I try to install it:
"Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system. Please ensure that your product is properly installed before running this Setup program. Setup will exit."
But that is kinda obvious as those are drivers for Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio but I have PCI Express Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio . The soundcard that is shipped with MSI P7N Diamond motherboard is not true X-Fi so therefore those X-Fi Xtreme Audio drivers should not work anyway.
I know it was long shot but it was worth to try.
I have notified them about my results, will see what other ideas they might have.
All ideas or suggestions are very welcome

P7N Diamond 8 hrs and counting still can't install xp
I just got a brand new system:
Intel core duo e8500
p7n Platimum board
2 x 1 gb corsair value mem at 667mhz
2 x msi 9600GT in sli
2 wd raptors 74g
3 seagate 80 gb
have been trying for 8 hours to get through an install here. I've striped the 2 WDs and am trying to install to them. I've set 3 seagates in raid 5
contantly get bsod referring to nvgts.sys
the only way I've been able to get windows installed is removing all raid settings from bios and loading to one wd raptor. after updating all the nvidia driveers and what not from the live update my system starts to crash within 5 minutes of booting and refers to the same nvgts.sys 90% of the time and other times nv4_disp.dll or no file mentioned the other 10%
the msi live update flashed my bios to current already.
am i just wasting my time here looking for this board to do what it supposed to do?
any input would be greatly appreciatedok msi support gave me new bios to load and i managed to get the os loaded, now i'm in the same situation as i was after installing it on a single drive that one time... the machine reboots almost every 5 minutes... here are some of the errors:

Ok managed to load windows on raid after updating bios u pointed me to. I updated all drivers from msi website.
Now i am getting constant reboots every 3-5 minutes:

When I put the comp together I installed only one 8800GTS at first to make sure that wouldn't cause any trouble.
So what did I do,
- Got my all new shiny machine, put it all together etc. Downloaded XP x64 off my MSDNAA account and installed it.
- Found out MSI didn't put the XP x64 drivers on the CD? so I downloaded the 570i and 780i drivers off the nvidia site and Installed them.
- Everything seemed to work, Windows installed LAN etc perfectly fine.
- Downloaded the newest Nvidia GFX drivers 196.21 and installed them, found the 8800GTS fine and worked.
- Update XP x64 with the latest updates and reboot the machine.
- Install 3dmark06 and make sure everything worked as it should and it worked fine so time to add the second 8800GTS.
- Put the 8800GTS in the second blue PCI-E 16x slot and install the SLI Bridge and power on the machine again, booted into windows and notified that the system was SLI capable, then went to the control panel and wanted to enable SLI and it gave me this message.
So I decided it was time to check of the cards where running at 4x speed or higher.
Apparently they are, I also checked GPU-Z to make sure and both gave the same results, now maybe I missed an option or something? Or could this just be because they are PCI-E 2.0 and this is just new? I know the cards work in SLI they did on my old machine.

I had a problem enabling SLI on my P7N also. Dont forget to reload the video drivers when you install and bridge the second card..just to make sure. Also, download the Nvida Performance Monitor version 6.10 from Nvidia's website. It has 3 parts..networking, monitor and performance, you can install all three, but I just loaded the "Performance" software and then enabled SLI from there. You can OC your vid card with it, but the mainboard screens aren't 100% active yet. Sum it up..reload the vid drivers, download and install the Nvidia Performance Monitor, open the control panel and enable SLI and apply. That should do it.

Oh yeah..I would not use the Dual Core center...nothing but problems, set values in bios and check with CPU-Z and GPU-Z, Hardware Monitor 107/etc.

P7N Diamond - Memory Problem ???

I have recently purchased a new computer and have been having trouble with it since day 1.
My current RAM (see specs bellow) is showing incorrect readings. My tech friend is thinking that I have gotten ripped off...
I downloaded Nvidia's nTune and
nTune seems to be reading the Memory Modules as:
2 part numbers as KTC1G-UDIMM
the other 2 Part numbers as KHX8500D2/1GN
In this order:
0 dimm - KTC1G-UDIMM
1 dimm - KHX8500D2/1GN
2 dimm - KTC1G-UDIMM

P7N Diamond: Q6600 to 4.05ghz!! But stability at 3.6ghz?
Hi all,
I believe I've obtained the first successful non-extreme Kentsfield Quad bench above 4.0ghz on the P7N Diamond. It can be done.
The processor is a watercooled Q6600 G0 Batch L737B277 with a VID of 1.2375. The chipset is using the standard circupipe cooling, but I did buy an Antec Spot Cool to blow air over the NB. It seems to be doing a reasonable job.
Here are my OC settings and voltages:
Beta BIOS 1.1B4
Proc: 4.05ghz (450 x 9)
FSB: 1800 (450 x 4)
RAM: 900 (450 x 2)
RAM Timings: 5-5-5-15-2T (sub-timings on auto)
vCore: Max set in BIOS (haven't benched lower, but it may be possible.)
vDimm: 2.1
NB: 1.55
SB: 1.65
Gtl REF: 65
FSB Term: 35
all other voltages on auto.
Unfortunately, I'm still having a bit of trouble stabilizing at 3.6ghz. I've cornered it down to the same thing every time. The computer will eventually freeze (not blue screen or reboot, but freeze) at around 10 minutes of Prime 95 or between 2 and 5 minutes of OCCT (RAM stress.)
My current settings for 3.6ghz stable are as follows:
Beta BIOS 1.1B4
Proc: 3.6ghz (400 x 9)
FSB: 1600 (400 x 4)
RAM: 800 (400 x 2)
RAM Timings: 5-4-4-13-2T (default EPP timings)
vCore: 1.4375 (+2.000v set in BIOS)

My guess is that the issue lies with the NB or SB, with RAM being the third option. I don't think it's the processor, based upon VID, batch, and the type of errors I'm getting (freezes, nothing else.)
I'm learning more about how NB and SB voltages effect the system, as well as how all of the reference, gtl, and terminator voltages interact (MSI's odd BIOS settings make this all the more difficult.) However, I'm still guessing at places, and without the ability to pinpoint a single voltage that's causing the freezing, it's becoming a bit tiresome. I've tried upping NB to 1.45 and SB 1.6 but can't seem to prevent the freezing. Perhaps its a combination of the two, or perhaps my FSB Terminator voltage is off. If anyone has any ideas on what could be causing this freezing, that would be great going forward.
Seeing that I can bench at 4.05ghz, I should be able to find stability at 3.6ghz. It's just a matter of time, and as always, further explanation of MSI's unique voltage settings always helps.
Thanks everyone!Here's a brief overview of my 3.6 settings. Cpu is a G0 batch L737A702 with a VID of 1.2875, bios A7510NMS.116, C1E and EIST disabled.
The first screen in cell menu just shows mode to manual, fsb to 1600, and multi at 9. The pci-e freq=107 is just to give me a little help for oc my vid cards so disregard that setting.
Next you see my voltages. One might assume that cpu VID 1.2875v+.225v increase in bios will mean a vcore of 1.5125 but this isn't the case at all as you will see from H/W Monitor in a moment.
The H/W Monitor screen is showing me vcore 1.464v and while I'm sure part of this is vdrop, it also leads me to believe that bios may not be setting the initial voltage correctly or that there is some amount of vdroop before the OS is even loaded. Of course that's purely speculation without actual digital multi-meter measurements.
I can show prime 25.6 stability if need be, I have run it 6hr with similar settings on bios 114 but honestly I'm not really big on hours of stress testing. It cuts into my WCG time too much and I have taken kind of a personal interest in that since my cancer diagnosis 7 weeks ago. 4 cores crunching 24/7 without error and the occasional game of Witcher or Silent Hunter 4 is my idea of stable. You can see the CPU-Z Core Voltage 1.424v 100% load so vdroop is around .04v. You might also note ram timings are tight and CL1. The OCZ Reaper HPC's don't oc worth a damn but they run mighty tight stock.
The temps are really something I'm not going to discuss too much. The common question seems to be "which app should I trust?". I'll leave this argument to people who know a lot more about intel thermal specs than I do. The author of Real Temp (unclewebb) said something in a post that stuck with me: If you are Prime stable and have left some head room before TjMax, which you have plenty of, then absolute temperatures don't matter one bit. 50C, 55C, 60C, 65C and even 70C doesn't matter while running Prime as long as you are stable. You are within the Intel spec and you aren't going to hurt anything. With no documentation of TjMax by Intel and no user testing of TjMax for your new processor, absolute temperature is no more than just an interesting number no matter what software you are using to report it.

P7n diamond does not accept nvidia display drivers

Recently assembled a machine on p7ndiamond and loaded with windows xp pro 32 bit,zotac 8800gt 512mb ddr3 graphic card.
My problem is whenever I try to install the nvidia display driver for windows xp..the installation starts fine but just after a few moments the screen blacks out and cursor begins to blink in the top left corner.Thereafter nothing happens...does not accept any commands and stay as it is.
Ultimately I have to reboot.
Any kindly soul out there may please help me out from this woe.

P7N Diamond New Install Failure
Hi,
Just got all my new hardware and I can't get vista 32 to install. I can do whatever I need in BIOS, but as soon as I go to install Vista Home Premium(OEM) It does the loading files thing, then it has the Green bar you get before the gui comes up, and then the computer restarts. So I never make it to the GUI.
Things I've tried:
matching my Mem to manufacturer specs of 4-4-4-12 at 2.1V.
Tried on 3 diff Brand new drives - one at a time and w/ all 3.
Going to one stick of mem and trying diff slots.
Tried the other stick the same way.
I've also tried RAID 5 which was my original plan w/ these 3 drives. When I do that it gets just as far as before, but then I get a Blue screen, STOP, the Error is IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. And at the bottom it says nvraid.sys.
Any suggestions? Please help! I'm still using original BIOS 1.0

Installed two diff IDE DVD drives to install from there instead of my Sata drive.

Cleared the CMOS - but I didn't immediately do what Loonym suggested. Will try that next.
Tried loading Optimized Defaults, and Failsafe results - the Green bar lasts longer (8 times through) but still ends up going into continuous loop of reboot etc.
