P965 Neo-F JMicron IDE concerns

I've always been a big MSI fan and I'd like to build a sytem with a core 2 duo and the P965 Neo-F.  However, I've really been scared away by all of the reported difficulties with the JMicron controller.  I will have one SATA hard drive and IDE opticals.  My question is, have issues with the controller been resolved?  Is it possible to get fast DVD read/write speeds with IDE opticals?  Is there a method to get things to work properly?  Thank you.

Hello,
I to have an MSI P965 Neo-F, from the day I had it and put my rig together I have had NOT one single problem with it at all, my dvdrw was set as master and plugged into the ide connector, my sata hard drive was plugged directly into the purple sata port. I DID NOT install any raid or scsi drivers whilst installing winxp, it installed with no input bar the product code and keyboard setup. I then installed all the drivers that came with the setup cd, which includes the Jmicron drivers. Both xp & drivers took about 25 mins. Once done everything was working fine NO problems or issues, no nothing, even after I updated the drivers using liveupdate still no issues at all.
I'v read that people have had trouble burning cds/dvds, low read speeds, etc... I didn't fiddle with anything in the bios prior to installing xp and I'v had no trouble whatso ever.
I think that this motherboard is tidy, it runs smoothly with no glitches, the overclocking I think is sweet enough without making major changes to your internal cooling. Reading all the bad reviews is enough to put anyone off, but not many people write reviews about how good this motherboard is, so here i am.
MSI P965 Neo-F is a dam fine motherboard. It works solidly and is one of the most stable MB's on the market. If people try not to fiddle too much with bios settings, that includes bets bios flashing, and everything before they set it up, then I think they would be more good reviews.

  • MSI P965 Neo-F Sata & IDE presentation (& boot options)

    hi,
    I have purchased a MSI P965 Neo F motherboard.
    http://www.msicomputer.co.uk/Product...3735&cat_id=77
I have flashed the bios to the lastest 1.18 revision.
If you look at this board, you'll find it has 5 SATA ports.
    - 1 SATAII port by JMicron JMB361.
    - 4 SATAII ports by ICH8.
    Questions:
1.) The machine only appears to be able to boot from the 1 jmicron sata port.
2.) within the bios any disks plugged into the board on the other 4 ports show up as "ide" disks, this could be wording or this could be some cheap bus trick

    Hi, thanks for responding,
    Quote
no wrong with "ide", as SATA ports on ICH8 are detected as IDE devices, (as opposed to detected as SCSI device).
could you clarify this, I think its just the "no wrong" line, what do you mean by this.
    Quote
No, the machine is able to boot from any JMicron port, including PATA port.
there is only 1 jmicron sata port, so my initial comment was aimed at you can only boot from this 1 sata port - not the other 4 ich8 ports, I assume thats correct from your comment.

  • P965-Neo and jMicron issue

    Hi,
I have a strange problem with MSI P965-Neo related to jMicron PATA-IDE (a DVD-RW is connected there).
The system is working just fine:
    1) the SATA HDD is recognized in the first BOOT phase and the DVD-RW is recognized in the 2nd boot phase (the jMicron boot phase).
    2) WinXP-SP2 has no problems at all with both drives (HDD & DVD)
    But ...
In case of DVDs (read) I get no more than 1X speed (approx. 1200KB/sec)
In case of CDs (read) I get no more than 8X (approx. 1200KB/sec).
So the max speed for my optical drive is 1200KB/sec.
At this speed it's obviously that I cannot burn CDs or DVDs ...
There're no reading/writing issues with my optical drive (LG H10N) on other systems.
Is someone able to help me ?
    thanks

Set the Jmicron in the BIOS to RAID mode. That worked for me.
    Didn't work (but thanks anyway).
The problem is solved now (I had to waste enough time for that ...).

It's a beta driver, but this is the answer to all "jMicron on MSI"  bugs.
With that driver I was able to write a full CD at 48X and a full DVD at 8X without any error.

The current v1.5 BIOS and jMicron driver are buggy (talking about MSI P965-Neo) !

  • MSI P965 Neo-F JMicron 361

is there any way to run SATA RAID on this motherboard the controller only support PATA 1x and 1x SATA witch is pretty silly for a RAID function?

    http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_detail.php?UID=744
    no RAID ever mentioned ...

  • [SOLVED!] DVDRW can't burn on JMicron IDE (MSI P965 Neo)

    -----------------------------
edit: i have solved it! i changed my IDE cable (i originally used the IDE cable that came with my dvd-drive, which was a 40pin IDE cable) with the 80pin IDE cable that came with the motherboard. installed jmicron driver, and i can burn now. no more errors from nero
I have an LG GSA-H10N DVD writer.
it's connected on the only IDE slot in MSI P965 Neo motherboard.
    Nero Express log file says:
    === Scsi-Device-Map ===
DiskPeripheral       : ST380811AS                       atapi Port 0 ID 0  DMA: On
    CdRomPeripheral      : HL-DT-STDVDRAM GSA-H10N JL10     JRAID Port 4 ID 0  DMA: Off
i asked around, DMA should be turned on, says all other forums.
Jmicron RAID controller is installed. all jmicron drivers installed.
    how to turn on DMA?
bios is set to IDE (and not RAID/Disabled).
please help. this is giving me headaches. i have lost money thinking i bought defective dvds to burn on, only to find out DMA is not ON (and i can't turn it on anywhere).

I wouldn't call this "solved" would you? Mabe patched...
Yes I am having the same problem:
If I use the Intel IDE drivers, you *can* burn, but it takes literally at least an hour MIN per DVD. Also it maxes out @ 6X for ripping audio CDs. Yes, and this cripples your entire system, everything is super slow, even the mouse is choppy. One of your CPU's will also be maxed out @ 100%. Sound may be also affected while using any DVD drive.
If I use the "latest" 1.14 JMicron Drivers, I can't burn at all. Windows "says" it's a DVDRW, but there is no burn tab under properties, and Nero or other applications say there is no burner (but the "virtual" ISO burner).   However, I can rip at full speed again, no choppy, so sound issues.
Here is a picture of what Device Manager looks like BEFORE you install JMicron Drivers and AFTER:
    http://www.hificomputers.net/hifi/Images/before_after.jpg
I Have tried messing with PIO modes and DMA in bios and windows. Nothing.
I have tried messing with DVD burner's firmware, nothing.
I have tried editing the registry and "forcing" windows to see the DVD Burner as a burner to FORCE the "burning" tab to come back, but still this doesn't affect anything. Still can't burn.
MSI do NOT use JCrapon again! Just search for jmicron in this forum and see all the problems with them! I've had at least 6 MSI boards and this is the first one I've not been satisfied with just because of JMicron.  I don't know if this is a Bios fixable issue, but it seems like it should be a JMicron Drivers issue.

  • P965 NEO & SATA2 HDD detected as IDE

I can't run my IDE DVD-RW drive in DMA mode, it seems to be a common problem with P965 NEO mainboard. At the moment I can live with it, I've tried different JMicron drivers without success. I use BIOS v1.5, maybe I should try the new v1.6.
Recently I changed the HDD (Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320Gb SATA2) to one of the Intel ICH8 SATA ports. It used to be connected to the JMicron SATA port and detected as a SCSI drive. Now it is detected as a IDE drive by both the BIOS and Windows xp device manager. There are 3 x Primary IDE Channel and 3 x Secondary IDE Channel in the device manager even though there's only 1 SATA2 HDD and 1 optical IDE drive connected. The HDD runs in UDMA5 mode but the DVD is still in PIO mode. Now the HDD S.M.A.R.T function works (it didn't work before when connected to JMicron SATA) so I would like to keep it this way.
My question is how should the SATA2 drive be detected? I get around 135 Mb/s burst speed in HD Tach, does the "IDE mode" slow the disk down?

  • P965 Neo JMicron ?buggy? in PATA-mode and cannot install newest driver

I have a MSI P965 Neo and a PATA HDD (alone on the IDE-cable)
if I copy some big files over network (via onboard realtek) from 2 other computers in my network:
    PATA:
    a) files are ok (correct md5), without the JMicron-driver 1.06.01.00 from MSI website, but very slow speed and laggy mouse.
    b) files are NOT ok, with JMicron-driver 1.06.01.00, speed is fast, mouse are ok.
if I use a PATA-2-SATA adapter from a friend and the HDD is
    a) hooked on JMicron-SATA-Port, with JMicron-driver 1.06.01.00, files are ok.
    b) hooked on intel-port, files are ok.
I did some tests with a dlink-NIC on msi mobo, but in PATA-mode on JMicron still errors.
so for the JMicron in PATA-mode there is a bug, in SATA-mode not.
I have hope with with the new driver from MSI site vesion 1.14.00.00 but this one won´t install - got a dialog with "updatedriverforplugandplaydevices: error".
any help ? coz I cannot use the PATA-2-SATA adapter from my friend forever and buying one isn´t a big deal but I paid already for not 100% bugfree msi p965 neo.
    update:
filecopy from internal hdd to external usb-hdd, is not a problem, only over network. so JMicron in PATA-mode produces errors if realtek-onboard-chip is under load or an other NIC.
OS was WinXP SP2 32bit, but WinXP x64 has the same problem.
I tried also older realtek drivers but no success.
but Vista RC1 has no errors with filecopy over network with jmicron in pata-mode, with Vista´s default drivers for JMicron and realtek-nic

I got the same problem with "HANGING"... the whole system freezes (mouse and sound for example) when I access my DVD burner, e.g. wenn I insert a new DVD, and/or copy a file like VTS_04_1.VOB to my system (just for testing). I never experienced this behaviour in any PC system before... This isn't acceptable on a 2 gig, 6600 core 2 duo system.
I played World of Warcraft recently, and burned a video DVD from a hdd image file at the same time - which should be blindfoldly managed on a core 2 duo 6600.
on my old system (an amd, single core) the same action would have no effect on the game. But on my new MSI board system, there were major hangs to the game... Just when the system accessed the DVD burner.
More strange appears to me, that accessing the second DVD device, the DVD-R (just reading) doesn't cause any hangs to my system.
I never had any of this occurences in any PC before ... This must have something to do with the Jmicron IDE to SATA2 "bridge".
I got the JMB36X 1.14.01.exe and the latest BIOS
My system specifications read as follows:
1x 3R Systems DCase R202, silver be quiet
    1x SilentMaxx 480Watts, 19dB extra silent
    1x MSI P965 Neo-F Socket775, FSB800/1066 ATX PCI-E16x
    2x CSX1024MB DDR2 DIMM, 800MHz, original Value
    1x Core 2 Duo E6600 (2,4GHz 4MB), Box S775
    1x GeForce 7900 GTX 512 MB Gigabyte, TV-Out/DVI Retail
    2x SATA2 250GB Samsung SP2504C
    1x LG GSA-H20L Black Lightscribe, Retail Nero+Kabel
    1x Lite-ON DVD-ROM SHD-16H5S-05C, 16X
Hoping there will be a fix soon... I noticed this strange behaviour at once, when I installed Heroes of Might and Magic V (just after I bought my new system) and wondered, why the installation routine takes SOOOO long and consumes one core cpu completely....

  • P965 Neo and IDE options.

    Hi people,
My current setup is C2D E6600 and P965 Neo overclocked at 312FSB, (wouldn't go any further), 2*1 GB Corsair PC2-5300 and Win XP pro SP2. I've got a Benq DW1670 DVD writer and i've tried every way to enable the DMA for it so i can write a DVD in less than 1:30 hours ( i know thats a lot of time). I've tried to uninstall the drivers for my Secondary IDE Channel where my writer is found so that windows would reinstall it and fix that without success, i' ve tried uninstalling the writers drivers and still nothing, i even hacked the registry and still nothing, so i thought that it could be the BIOS. Unfortunatelly in the BIOS (version 1.5) i cannot locate any options for my writer nor my writer mentioned anywhere except the boot sequence.
Any ideas where these options can be found?
Also another thing that got me confused, is about RAID. Some people here complain that there is no RAID for this mobo and some others are trying to create RAID. Is it possible to create a strip RAID with this mobo? In the instructions manual it even explains about the different kind of RAIDs. (i am a newbie on RAIDs. Never done one before). Also what the hell is the Jmicron?
    Antonis

JMicron IDE/SATA RAID Driver allows raid
Intel ICH8 not support for Raid........... Platinum version supports ICH8R
XP with SP2 will not show DMA mode
You could also try a 40 pin cable rather than the 80 pin..........

  • P965 NEO Slow IDE DVD/CD drive

    Ok,
I've read some of the articles on problems with CD readers/writers not working or working very slow using this MOBO.
    Here is my problem
I have a SATA hd that has my windows xp OS and it works fine. I installed it from the CD rom no problem.
The only problem I have is the CD/DVD rom appears to work very slowly in Windows.
****I am not running any raid devices.****
Should I have to install a JMICRO driver just to get my CD/DVD writer to function properly? I looked for a driver using the links I found in this forum but didn't find any. Im not sure if I even need one.
Has anyone solved this problem that isn't using Raid? I'd rather not install a driver if I do not need it.
    Thanks,
    JIm

  • SATA and PATA port Selection on P965 Neo - Advice please!

    Hello,
I am just waiting for my parts to arrive, including the P965 Neo. I was wondering about the JMicron controller and the ICH8 Intel SATA ports and how to best use them.
My setup will be one SATA 320gb HD and one PATA DVD writer.
My question is where best to connect these? I don't want or need NCQ or RAID, so can I connect the HD to one of the serial port of the ICH8 and just have the DVD drive connected to the JMicron?
Do I need to install the JMicron driver at all?
    Thanks for any advice.

    Thanks for the reply.
If I want to use only the IDE channel for my DVD drive (HDD will be on ICH8 SATA port), can I install the JMicron driver after I have installed Windows XP?
I don't have a floppy for this build, so I want to avoid having to 'F6' at install time.
    Thanks once again.

  • Would the P965 Neo-F make a good board in a student PC?

These are the components I had in mind for my sister's new PC:
    Core 2 Duo E6300
    MSI P965 Neo-F
    2x1GB Kingston HyperX KHX6000D2K2 DDR2-750
    Asus 7600GS passively cooled
    430W Seasonic S12-430
    Samsung 80GB HDD SATA
    Samsung DVD Burner SATA
    BenQ FP93VW
    MS-Tech Midi Tower
She does game a little (Caesar 4 too, so the gfx must have a little juice), but mostly DVD watching, surfing the net, work stuff, encoding to MP3 and so on. Would the Neo-F be worth the extra money compared to the 50€ AsRock solutions?
Edit: Important question: Does the Neo have any other significant problems then with IDE optical drives? Since both the HDD and DVD Burner are SATA I dont expect any problems on this side.

Quote from: Streifenkarl on 28-December-06, 14:47:38
Thanks for your input guys. I think I'll stay with the Neo then!  Which BIOS version should I use then? 1.5 or an earlier one for highest stability?
Use 1.5 if it works right. Seems BIOS has some issues as beta's are released quite often. That Asrock board wouln't be bad, if you get piece that isn't defect. My Asrock's AGP port was faulty which resulted burned GFX. If you are not using external (PCI/PCIe) hdd controllers you should not hit any problems with this board. I would not suggest flashing beta biosses if you dont have problems.
Jmicron controller might cause some problems, but they are fixable trought newest drivers I have heard. I am currently running some old beta driver with my 965 neo, as I have been too lazy to update to newest as they seem to work enought. I dont use much IDE drives anyway, only my raid1 backup set is IDE, other stuff is SCSI, which are bit problematic with this board.
2x 12v lines aren't good If you are using some heavy gfx card, if the rails aren't real powerfull. There was some nice postings on these forums about them. I would prefer PSU with really heavyduty one 12v rail. But if it works, dont do anything ofc.
Your set is almost like mine, tho I have e6400 and kingston valueram. Im not sure if the mobo keeps RAM at specified speed as I havent found any software that could see the ram clock. Well I can run 325 fsb stable with default voltage, so if the ram clock is not fixed to 333 my KVRs are just good pieces
Nice to see atlast powerfull cpu that can be cooled even with stock cooler when overclocked, tho I already installed my watercooling as all parts of my computer seems to work.

  • MSI p965 NEO boot problems

    Hello everyone.
My DVD-rom is installed in IDE, and i have sata HD. My boot device is CD-rom.
OK, so my problem is that i puit windows XP cd in my dvdrom, because i want to install XP. Ok, so firstly my dvd doesnt show up on the IDE listing, they are all 'None', i press F1 to continue, my other option is DELITE to enter bios. Ok, so i get to a screen where my HD shows up, and also my DVD, then i get the option to enter the realtek setup hablahabla shift+f10, and this i dont need. Then i get to another screen it shows all these different things but ends with "Verifying DMI pool data ....." and then i get the msg ITLDR is missing, and i get the option to press CTRL alt delete to reboot.
So plz, how do i fix so that i can fornmate my hd and install windows XP?
    thanks //eric karlsson

fendic thanks for your input, its given me some progress i hope.
I did connect it to one of the four ones, not the 1 in other color. Now, this made my HD show up as IDE Secondary Master. Instead of the previous "none", the rest of the IDE on start are still "None". As for my "DVD-ROM", after ive pressed F1 during the first screen, i get on the second one saying 0DD0: Optiarc DVD RW AD-5170A, in green text, which is my DVD-ROM. Now, i think the issue for some reason is that even though i have CDROM as first boot device it still trys to boot it from HD. because when i unplug my HD i can boot XP using my windows XP CD in my DVD ROM. Also, my BiOS is 1.5, im not sure how to flash bios using a floppy or whatever, but i will look into it and ill post if i ever succsed to make my bios 1.6. Oh, and yes im using a SATA HD.
    Thanks
    Eric Karlsson
EDIT; I flashed bios to 1.6 now, but the problem still remains im affraid.  Iv bin doing some lurking about and i cant let go off 1 thing, and its "enable JMicron as IDE". Since my DVD-rom shows in green text druing the JMicron screen.
EDIT2; This is how i flashed, its from a post on tgis forum. I had to unplug my HD to make it boot from the CD-ROM. But after puting the HD back on, it still does not work.
"Hello, welcome to forum. if you are planing to update BIOS:
get P965 Neo BIOS ver. 1.6 CD Image (have modded boot record and integrate JMB361 Dos drivers.)
    How do i flash it?
Extract image file from archive, and burn it to CD.(example: open it with nero burning rom and burn image file to CD)
Make and ensure PC is stable, then reboot PC and boot from CD. you will need to confirm twice BIOS update when asked.
after BIOS update is complete successfully, power down your PC, remove power cord from the PSU, hit few time power button to drain electrify from capacitors, touch some metal with hands to discharge any ES which you may have, then open the case and Clear CMOS then pull back power cord, and turn on your PC, will be notice CMOS CHEKSUM MISMATCH/ERROR, hit F1 to continue to rebuild DMI Pool Data, then reboot your PC, and enter in BIOS and LOAD BIOS DEFAULT, SAVE AND EXIT, go back to BIOS and apply your customs settings."
Check the bold part in the qotation, thats the drivers for JMicron i think, still there is no succses for me.

    Hell all

    Ok Intel D 920 3.2GHz 800MHz FSB
2GB Crucial DDRII 800Hz Kit not balisix
    x1 WD Sata HDD
x2 Lite-on DVD Wtrs same model.
    BIOS v1.5
    Bios version is W7235IMS Broadwater
The thing I am trying to avoid is on pre-post boot (if this is the correct word to use) it does a memory count which delays the boot of the machine considerably and is so annoying.
I have in the BIOS the option for fast boot Enabled and it still does a memory count.  Is their any way to stop the memory count.
Other thing I have noticed in BIOS where Drives are listed under the main section, the Drives attached to machine are not listed.
also after getting past the memory count the next screen pauses with the WD HDD and underneath the x2 optical drives again slowing boot down.
Is this becuase of my DDRII 800MHz and BIOS being v1.5 ?
Thanks in advance for any help please.

That doesn't matter.  Don't worry about the -F.  It is still the same (the right) board.

MS-7235 is the model number and v1.1 is the PCB Version.  The Info means that you have a P965 Neo(-F).

Clear CMOS with man A/C power cable removed from PSU and load "Optimized Defaults" in BIOS.  See what happens after that.

Only drives hooked up to the ports hosted by the primary Intel ICH8 Controller are listed in BIOS.  Drives connected to the ports of the secondary JMicron Chipset (IDE Port and one SATA port (the one that has a different color), do not appear in BIOS because the JMicron Chip has its own firmware.

That is the BIOS/Firmware of the JMicron Chipset checking and listing the drives that are connected to its ports.  Nothing to worry about.

  • P965 neo-f hdd detection problem

Hello, I'm facing a very strange problem. I'm using a p965 neo-f board, with a dual pentium 2.80GHz, a 250gb sata wd disk, 2x512mb corsair ram, ati radeon x1300, psu tagan 480w, ide dvdrw bios w7235ims v1.5. I build the system myself and installed windows xp x64 pro. Everything went ok and the system was stable. Some day there was a current breakdown and when i powered on the pc during the post it hanged at ide detecting disks. I've entered bios setup, save and exit rebooted and went back to windows. At the past 2 years i suffered a couple current breakdowns leading to the above problem that i'm solving it as i said before. I must say that the computer belongs to my sister and i'm her technician . During last week my sister decided to move the pc to another room. They connected the computer, powered it on and the same thing. During post it hangs on detecting disks. I took the computer at home changed the sata to the jmicron slot, and booted to windows. The problem is that the ethernet controller doesn't work. So i reinstalled all the mobo drivers, no luck. I did a bios update to version 1.90. The result was with sata connected to the jmicron, the ethernet controller is not working. I changed the sata to sata 6 and everything worked ok. Today I've opened the pc again to check it out and the same thing, post hangs at ide detection. I don't know what to do anymore. maybe the intel controller is messing up with the jmicron? or the bios is not suitable? should i downgrade to other bios versions? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the reply, I thought about those things myself and I'll try them. Here is another weird one. Connecting the hard drive to sata2 slot everything worked well for a day.
Today I powered the pc in the morning and it recognized the disk. I Did some work and I checked the shutdown and the rebooting. Everything looked as It should be. So  I went to the beach, and when I came back, I started the pc--->> the same thing happened!!!
Should I try another bios version? or It is just a waste of time?

  • P965 Neo temp issues

Hi I'm really happy with my board, no problems yet Thankfully, also had a great installation, of windows vista RTM, and windows xp. But the rare issue i have is that my e6400 at stock, speed and with stock hsf, makes like 41c temp. this have been happening with the new 1.6 Bios release. any one have an idea why, and also my is always at low rpm, like 1300 or so, thanks.
and also, why Vcore voltage is so unstable, it move from 1.18 to 132v any ideas.??

I did some thermal throttling tests.
    E6400 @ 2.130mhz (stock)
    MSI P965 Neo-f (bios 1.6b13)
    Speedfan 4.32 Beta 8
Stresstest & Rightmark CPU clock utility from www.rightmark.com i think. if not that try google
At first I tried to set fan running at minimum speed. Well it was cooling too much and I could not hit over 67C.
So I obviously had to disconnect the CPU fan.
After that temperatures started to rise. At 83C thermal throttle started up. I dunno why the hell the threshold is so high, and I dunno if it can be changed with some program, didn't find any settings from rightmark cpu clock utility.

Picture 2 shows that temp readings are lost while cpu is throttling and stresstest is running. I guess this is because most CPU cycles are used for cooling CPU, not doing much work.

Well I continued this for a while, what a heck this box has still warranty left
Picture 3 shows that thermal throttle is able to keep Core temps about 82C without fan running. Obviously stresstest + thermal throttle was reason for losing CPU temp readings, as seen in picture 3 temp readings came back after stopping stresstest.

I killed the stresstest, but left CPU fan disconnected. I can again see the temperatures. Its 82C.
At this point my computer still works without any problems.
Well I connect my CPU fan back. And temps starts to decrease fast, after going below 80C thermal throttle was disabled. It "saved" my CPU. BUT!
Now I get report from windows that my RAID1 device is broken, one of the HDD's goes missing.  HMMMM?. (to note im running temporarily software RAID1 on Jmicron connected IDE hdds).
Well I decide to reboot my computer, Windows shutdowns normally. At post first everything seems ok, my SCSI card finds both my HDDs etc etc. Then comes Jmicron's turn to find HDDs, it just freezes there. Hmm interesting, did I broke my mobo??
I try reset button, again same thing.. $hit !!!.
I shutdown the computer, and turn on again and everything works again. OMG
So before someone tells how to set different threshold for cpu throttling it might work, but at least my p965 neo-f doesnt like it. My guess is that the North Bridge is overheating as there is almost no airflow there, without cpu fan running. (There would be airflow from my computer case coolers, but I did it case open, and my fans are attached to the opening side panel, so the werent blowing in the case atm).
But atleast 70-80C should be safe temps for the cpu.
