Pack status misleading

Dear All
We have scenario of Pick, Pack Stage and Load where in loose items are picked to temporary reusable pick HU (Totes) and brought to Pack work center.
In the Packing station they are packed as per customer specific packaging , Finally staged and Loaded.
Issue is delivery gets the pack status "completed"immediately after the pick confirmation to Pick HU and not based on actual pack completion.
Is there any way to reflect the packing status after completion of packing in the work center.
I could have activated the flag " Do not put away HUs" in the Pack center storage type but we want to track the pick HU's adn the contents at the pack stations until they are transferred to packing cartons.
An extension to above question>>
Unlike the above scenario where the loose items are picked into the pick HU the scenario here is Picking of cartons to pick HU..
How to handle the requirement of Pick HU being with the resource after pick confirmation and the requirement is to just drop the picked cartons at the pack work center.

You correctly catch
WO creation category makes sense.
For eg..
WO creation category if it's pick path then the pack status not completed after picking
WO creation category if it's pick and Pack then the pack status can have completed status after picking.
This will work for you for you.

Process is just auto WT creation may not happen till it pack. need to check.
only here is first WT is take hu via pick hu from bin to pack bin.
wt 2 >>pack and complete pack step.
wt3 >> create WT for pack to staging and then wt4 load.

Packing Status at Delivery Header

We are in the process of creating a form that will include the details of the all delivery items packed on a handling unit. We want the output to be triggered automatically when the delivery has been completely packed.
We created a requirement to look at the packing status at delivery header level. There is a packing status field (VBUK-PKSTK) at delivery header level and packing status (VBUP-PKSTA) at item level.
We did not expect the delivery header level header to change to "C" until all item were "C". However, the header level field changes to "C" when the first item on the delivery is packed. I
I looked through the SAP Notes to see if there was something there to address this, but could not find anything.
I then searched the forums and found a message from 2007 saying that you must configure item categories with "must be packed" in order for this to work. I know we do not want to configure our system that way. We have many sites and most do not use handling units.
However, before I have my developer add code to check all statuses at item level prior to triggering an output, I want to make sure this is what has to be done. And I have not missed a note to correct this.

HI,
Go to transaction "SE16N" and enter table "VBUK" and give the delivery number in the field sales document number. Now you type "&SAP_EDIT" in the transaction bar and execute. Here you can change the status(Total goods movement). And see If you can actually bill the document. Kindly please let me know If you need any more information on this.

Incorrect packing status

Hi,
In the delivery document when i pack 3 line items out of 5, the status at delivery header shows ' C ' and at the items which are packed ie those 3 as ' C '. indicating completely packed. This is wrong at the header level because another 2 line items are not packed at all. So, it should indicate ' B '- Partially packed at header level.
Also we have applied as OSS Note to rectify the problem but could not resolve it.
Please help in this regard. We are on ECC 5.0.

I'm not sure if this is still an issue for you as the post is from January. Nevertheless, it appears that the behaviour is related to the packing control setting in the item category definition (transaction 0VLP). If you set ' ' (can be packed) then if some items are packed the header status will be 'C'. If you set the packing control to 'A' (must be packed) and then only pack some items then the delivery header packing status will be 'B'.

Incorrect Delivery Header Packing Status

Dear Experts,
We did not expect the delivery header level Packing Status to change to "C" until all item were "C". However, the header level field changes to "C" when the first item on the delivery is packed.
Delivery Header Packing Status VBUK- KOSTK = C when the first item of the delivery is packed while there are many itmes to be still packed
Any valuable input on this will be appreciated.

Please check the customizing for item cat. ZELN for example

> Shipping
> Packing
   > Packing Control By Item Category
    > Item cat.ZELN : ' ' Can be packed        <<<<<
                        A   Must be packed
                        B   Cannot be packed
Please change to 'A' (Must be packed) and try again.

Packing status becomes complete after using Pick HU

Hi Experts,
We use Pick HU for Outbound to pick products from warehouse to packing work center
but as soon as we use pick hu in warehouse order for Out delivery and confirm the WO to pack center
the status of packing becomes complete
which should be ideally complete after we repack the products in to ship hu
is there any thing i m missing to accomplish this?

I hope this is Correct as its belong to task and not activity.
And if you see activity OB02 then its has to complete at work center. This is about task.
Pack status on del for picking and not for packing activity.

Outbound packing status is "Completed" before we pack in work centre

Hi,
Once picking is completed (source and destination HU is same) immediately system says "packing completed" , in fact the next step is packing.
Is it a right behavior in EWM?
If i use outbound without storage process, how the packing status in ODO would be set as completed without any HU.

Hi Ganesan,
I believe that the packing status is just dynamically determined based on the HU data in the delivery. The status does not consider the process oriented storage control. Therefor I think the behaviour is right.

My question is how entry is made in this table VBUP?
Is it when we create any master data or during any config?

Support Pack Status not updated in System Component Information

Hi Experts,
We have installed ECC 6.0 with Ehp3 and AFS 603 on AIX 6.1 and db6 V 9.1. We recently added the Vistex Incentive and Payback Module and Vistex Global Functions Add Ons. After the base install the Support pack 1-4 were applied for both Vistex components. For IRMGLB the status screen (System/Status) shows the SP highest Level = 03, while in SPAM screen it shows that Support Pack for for the Component IRMGLB is imported successfully.Because of this we can not apply the remaining Support Packs. For the other component (IRMIPM) Support Pack level 04 is correctly displayed.
Any idea what are we missing? Any help is greatly appreciated.

For future referers, Vistex says its a known issue.

Packing in WS_DELIVERY_UPDATE

I am updating the packing for an existing delivery using WS_DELIVERY_UPDATE.
The HU's are being updated with no problem, but the the Packing Status is not being updated (VBUK-PKSTK).

Sorry I forgot a very imortant thing in the earlier post which might be your problem.
Comment and executable statements prior to the FM call:
*-- WARNING - Save the no_commit and restore after FM run.
dg_no_commit = v50agl-no_commit.
If you execute the FM within the userexit with commit = ' ' then the userexit's no_commit value is 'X' and it will not complete the changes like status updating etc. After the FM run I have the statement:
v50agl-no_commit = dg_no_commit.
That restores the value the original userexit had.

Packing Problem in Sales order - AFS

Hi Gurus,
I have maintained the Packing Determination records at the Grid level (POF1) and the record is getting determined in the sales order.
The material to be packed is appearing in the 'Material to Packed' section in the packing proposal screen of the sales order.
But the Automatic Packing function is not working and system is throwing as error - 'No items to be packed' .
Please tell me how to overcome this.

2. I have maintained the Packing instruction in POP1. Only after this I maintained the determination record at the grid level in POF1.
3. I am trying the Automatic packing function in sales order. The profile for sales order(0012) is having the "Start Automatically" ticked and the Determination Procedure for Instruction is also there.

In Sales order- Extras- packing proposal screen ,HU Sorting problem.

In VA01/Va02/VA03 sales order screen-> Extras->packing proposal screen, handling units were shown on the basis of alphabetical sorting of packaging material field. (Handling units are getting sorted on the basis of packaging material field)
As per our requirement, we have to sort on the basis of handling unit number -EXIDV field(First field of table control ).
As it is SAP Standard screen, we have checked it in debugging and it is getting sorted on the basis of alphabetical sorting of packaging material field. Please refer the below mentioned snapshot.
In SAP Standard source code -LV51PU15,
they have written sort on VHILM(Packaging material field)
sort LT_VEKP BY SORTF VHILM VENUM EXIDV

Problem in multilevel automatic packing

Dear All,
I am facing problem in Multilevel Automatic Packing of materials. I have done settings of the packing transaction profile; define check profile for packing status and of packing instruction determination in customizing. I am able to packing material upto 1 level only.
I have already created packing instruction using T-code POP1 and also created subordinate packing instruction for packing handling units in next level, assigned this to packing determination record using T-code POF1. I have used 1st packing material as main material in next packing instruction and the larger size material as next handling unit. The settings are:
POP1
PI 1
P 214 Target Qty 1
M 22   Target Qty 1
I 5     Target Qty 2
PI 5
P 215 Target Qty 1
M 214 Target QTY 2
POF1
Determination record ABCD
Material 22 PI 1
I also tried different condition type for this process but didnt succeed
I am not getting any error, just receive a message Handling units were created. But when I try to pack handling units using automatic packing option then system prompts me msg that there are no items to be packed.

I want to pack 1 medicine box in 1 small carton and then 10 small cartons in 1 Large Carton. I am able to pack 1 medicine box in 1 small carton thru automatic packing but not able to pack 10 small cartons in 1 Large carton. For this I have maintained packing instructions which are:

Decentralized Warehouse Management in combination with packing

Hello all, we are configurating DWM. We use an external application as a decentralized warehouse. However, we now face the fact that outbound deliveries are not distributed when the item of that outbound delivery (in the SAP ERP configuration) is marked as "must be packed".
Is there a kind of list available about prerequisites of working with DWM? Or has anyone also faced this?

Hello Frank,
The delivery cannot be distributed if the packing status is A. In this case the systems expects the delivery to be packed before distribution. If you want to make the packing mandatory in the decentral system, you must configure the item category in the decentral system - if it is also an SAP system.

Problem with multiple delivery items status

Hi Experts,
Printing of the packing list is trigered when the header packing status is "C" of the Outbound delivery.
But when the OBD has multiple line items, the status of the header packing status is "C" when
One line item is compleately packed and packing of other line items is not started.When the second line item
packing is started (partial packing) the header status changes to "B",this will be "B" till completion of the
secon line item once the second line item packing is completed again the Header status is changing to "C"
because of which we are getting multiple printouts of the packing.
Can anyone help us how to get one print out packing list after packing all line items of the deliver.

At first, when I would 'Find Devices' under my connected target, I would get a prompt asking to name the FieldPoint item (default being something like [email protected]). This occured for the first three or four seperate cFP-2010's : I would end up with a unique 'FieldPoint' Items folder for each individual target. However in some instances, when I would 'Find Devices', it would immediately bring cursor focus back to a previously linked 'FieldPoint Item', from another/previous cFP-2010.
I use the verbage 'linked', because when I do a 'Go To Comm Resources Configuration' or 'Go to Items Configuration', it would go to/from DataNeighborhood/Remote Systems.
How does MAX link the Item Configuration to a Comm Resource? Is it a unique ID within the target?
