Package empty in default host firmware

Hi All
I received this minor error and do not Know what is this

Hi Amr,
The reason you see this message is because you have the "Firmware Auto Sync Server policy" set to "auto Acknowledge" or "User Acknowledge" (see screenshot below) and the default host firmware package policy has some empty values.   To clear this fault you can fill out the empty values in the default host firmware policy or what I would recommend is to set the "Firmware Auto Sync Server policy" to "No Actions".
Let me know if this helps.

  • Pro's and Con's if i run multiple host firmware packages in the single chassis

    hi
i would like to know pro's and Con's if i run multiple host firmware packages in the single chassis.
Like if my UCS is running with firmware of 1.4.1m ( having backup of 1.3.1 and 1.1.1j) with 3 blades in one chassis
can i assign  service-profiles having three different host firmware versions
    Server1 - host firmware 1.1.1j-- win2k8
    server2 -host firmware 1.4.1m -- RHEL 5.6 ( OS)
server -host firmware 1.3.1 -(esxi 4.0)
Thanks in advance ,please replay if can i go ahead with this . ASAP

Yes, you can package them together.
Now Cisco has a better way. Cisco UCS Manager provides two main advantages over past firmware provisioning:
    • The capability to group multiple firmware components together in one package
    • The capability to apply a firmware package to any compatible server in a single operation
Cisco  UCS Manager provides an accurate, easier, faster, more flexible, and  centralized solution for managing firmware across the entire hardware  stack. Service profiles in Cisco UCS Manager abstract the physical  hardware from its software properties. Service profiles allow  administrators to associate any compatible firmware with any component  of the hardware stack. Simply download the firmware versions needed from  Cisco and then, within minutes, totally provision firmware on  components within the server, fabric interconnect, and fabric extender  based on required network, server, and storage policies per application  and operating system.

  • Board Controller not updated with Host Firmware Package

    UCS V2.2.1c.
New B200-M3 Blade inserted, and associated with a SP, that references a Host Firmware Package 2.2.1c
Although the HFP has Version 11 for the Board Controller; the Blade however has a Version of 13 ?
Is this a bug, or a feature ?

    Walter,
What happens is that the downgrade is not supported... if you try yo do it manually through a SSH session, the system will tell you "downgrade is not supported"
Try the commands (for future users, you may know them already ):
    # scope server X/Y (chassis X blade Y)
    # scope boardcontroller
    # show image (this will list all of the firmware versions)
    # activate firmware version.0 force (Select a lower version than the one already running)
    # commit-buffer   <<<<< Here you will see that message I mentioned

  • Host firmware package

    Hi,
I am trying to create a new host firmware pakage for version 2.1.(1a).
I was able to find right hardwares for Aadpter, CIMC, BIOS, and storage but couldn't find right one for board controller.
We are using B200 M3 but not listed under the tab. (see attached imgae).
Do you know what is the best practice?
Choose all available hardware or just choose what actually installed?
I only chose follwing items under their respective tab.
    for adapters - UCSB-MLOM-40G-01, UCS-VIC-M82-8P
for storage - LSI MegaRaid SAS 2004 ROMB
for bios and cimc - UCSB-B200-M3
But couldn't find matchin PID for B200 M3.
    Thanks,
    Harry

    Harry,
The B200's don't have board controller FW.  Not necessary.  You're not missing anything.  Only the platforms listed in the "Board Controller" section of the FW policy tab require them.

    Robert

  • 7.3.2 Default Host and Ports 995 and 587

Firmware 7.3.1 broke default host completely. This problem only seems to have been partially fixed with firmware 7.3.2.
In my limited testing, while ports 22, 80, 443, and 5900 seemed to be routed to the specified default host, ports 587 (SMTP using SSL) and 995 (POP using SSL) weren't. They had to be specified under the NAT setting. (The certs are not self-signed.)
Rather than wonder which of the 65535 ports might not be working as they should under default host I just went back to firmware 7.2.1.
Has anyone had success with default host over ports 587 and 995 in 7.3.2?

    I think you mean 7.2.3!
Anyway, you're right, you need UB versions of your plugins to work on Intel Macs.
I believe that BFD is now UB, you need auto-tune 5 to get a UB version, likewise Guitar Rig 2. Not sure about Analog Factory. Google is your friend here. You might well need to pay for these upgrades, but see them as functional updates as well as a matter of compatability.
I can see that people might get frustrated about this, but there's no way round it. Still, it's all part of the package. And neither is it a matter of keeping your host software current, it's about keeping your host hardware up to date. Any Intel Macs need UB software. Admittedly, you could try running in Rosetta, but I reckon that the reason why your plugins won't load is because if they bothered, your system would be so slow you wouldn't be able to get anything productive done at all. Consider it an investment, the extra power from the Intel machines is well worth the cost of the upgrades IMHO...

  • Cannot set IP address for "enable default host", setting won't stick

    Hi,
My office is using a 3rd party application called Rumpus to give clients FTP access to files that we post on our Mac Mini. I installed Rumpus a few months ago, and it's been working well, until last week when suddenly there's no external web access at all.
FYI we have a static IP from TWC.
In my Airport Utility config, I'm using the Network Option "Enable Default Host" and I'm setting this to the IP address that I've assigned to our Mac Mini which is 10.0.1.110. This way all incoming traffic is automatically getting to the Mac Mini. But since this problem started happening, this setting is now set to an IP address of 10.0.1.253. I don't know how this setting changed. And no matter what I do I cannot get it to save to 10.0.1.110. When I attempt to change it, it looks like it's saving but the setting doesn't change. Additionally, I've discovered I CAN set this to any IP address of 10.0.1.200, or higher, but not below 200. (The Utility's default IP range is from .2 to .200 so I guess this must be preventing the setting from sticking but I don't see why.)
Can anyone help me with this??
    Regards,
    Bob

How do you assign the address to the mini? In the mini itself or via dhcp reservations?
What model airport are you using? What firmware?
Can you remember some firmware update or something that altered the settings??
Reset to factory and try again.. but on 7.6.4 and 7.7.x there are definitely FTP issues.
See posts here. I have been tracking FTP problems for a while.
There are severe FTP issues with the AE.. the last couple of versions of the Gen1-5 firmware as well as the Gen 6.. See this thread.

I think will condemn you to replacement of the AC by a router that actually conforms to standards.
SFTP might work.. see this thread.

  • AFP to a default host in AEBS (and other problems with F/W 7.1.x)

    Hi all -
I have a AEBS version N connecting a workgroup of several Macbooks and a Mac Mini acting as a app server/file server. This workgroup is connecting to the internet via the AEBS running WPA.
Due to the network configutation, I have 1 publically routable IP address (200.13.99.x), which the Mini needs in order to allow "outsiders" access to a database app. The other laptops can share a NAT address for normal email, web browsing etc.
After several attempts, I found the best solution was to set the AEBS Ethernet WAN manually to the public IP address (200.13.99.x), and set connection sharing to share a public IP address. Then using DHCP and NAT options, I fix and specify the MAC address of the Mini (10.0.1.2), and get the AEBS to enable a default host to be the public IP address (200.13.99.x -> 10.0.1.2).
So far, so good. To recap, the AEBS has the public IP address (everthing else has a DHCP 10.0.1.x address). When outside users need to connect to the database on the Mini, they use the same public IP that the AEBS has. It works perfectly.
NOTE: This ONLY WORKS WITH FIRMWARE 7.0. F/W 7.1 & 7.1.1 FAIL and do not allow any connections in this configuration.
My question is this: How do I enable people to connect to the Mini and mount the filesystem remotely?
If someone goes to Finder, Go, Connect to Server, then input the public IP (200.13.99.x), they attempt to mount the AEBS (which does not have any disks). How do I disable disk sharing on the AEBS and forward all AFP (disk mount) requests to the Mini (acting as Default Host)? I have attempted to Port Map Personal File Sharing, but when attempting to mount 200.13.99.x I still see the AEBS.
The fallback plan is to buy an external disk for the AEBS, but it would be nice not to have that expense.
    Any thoughts appreciated!
    Regards,
    Charles
    ===
Footnote: I have also seen a lack of stability in F/W 7.1.1. In addition to the above, I was having to restart the AEBS every week or so, and was also getting peridic connection problems to the Internet. F/W 7.0 seems fine. Hopefully these issues will be address in the next F/W release.

    Hi Robby
I don't know if you solved your 'register now' problem concerning LE7 & LE8. I suspect the error your making is trying to open up each project in it's initial program - i.e. 7 or 8. The computer sees it differently (concerning Library settings etc) and your problem will be solved (hopefully) if you open up things in the right order :
    1° Open Logic EX 8.
2° Then open the old project from LE 7. This should then open in your new system of LE8.
Of course if you wish to keep working on LE7 projects in LE7 then you'll have to change between each system as you go. You should remember that in terms of programs (with the same 'name/directory') that a computer works much like a tightly packed garage - if you wish to get out your old bike you'll have to move the new one first and vice versa!!
Normally you won't be asked to register again, BUT ... remember that you have to decide if you're going to save in 8 (and so keep working in that format) or not and I imagine if you've bought an update this is certainly your idea. Of course if you now decide to close LE8 and then start clicking on files in LE7 you'll be back at square one ..... register now etc. Please also remember that LE7 projects can work in LE8 but not the other way round, so once you've opened a LE7 project and made adjustments using LE8 you can't reuse 7 - I suggest you back up all your LE7 first on external/DVD support for later/backwards adjustments or reference.
Another small point to remember is that your computer will now be saving your project a second time in a LE8 format. So at some point you should remember that you'll be using valuable HD space twice over if you just convert and save in the new format - if you see what I mean?!

  • GRC 5.3 - Management Report Error: Cannot assign an empty string to host..

Good day Kiran Kandepalli and Others.
I have successfully executed the background jobs -
Full User, Role, Profile Synchronization & a
    Full Batch Risk Analysis
When I run the Management Reports I receive the following error -
Error while executing the Job:Cannot assign an empty string to host variable 10.
Has anybody had this error message before?
When I check table VIRSA_CC_PRMVL, variable 10 is set to No in Nullable collumn.

    Hi Sahad,
Thanks for your response.  I have checked the usr02 table and logs and do not see any empty fields or strings.  This process worked for 5.2 but fails in 5.3.  Here is the excerpt from the log for the Management Report run.  It seems to fail consistenly at a certain point.  If I knew what the batch job was looking for in host variable 10 I might be able to resolve the problem.  It seems to fail when it starts to report on users.
    Thanks.
    Dan.

We ran a Management Report for the first time after completing the User/Role/Profile Full Sync and the user/Role/Profile Batch Risk Analysis.  The job failed with the following error:
    Oct 16, 2008 12:13:29 PM com.virsa.cc.xsys.bg.BatchRiskAnalysis runBkgMgmReport
WARNING: Exception in Management Report Job: Cannot assign an empty string to host variable 10.
com.sap.sql.log.OpenSQLException: Cannot assign an empty string to host variable 10.
We are on GRC 5.3 support pack 4.  Has anybody encountered this error? What does host variable 10 refer to?

I checked our USOBT_C table and we have a lot of empty values. If this is allowed to be empty in SAP and this is the table that is uploaded into CC, why would all the fields in CC tables then be defined as NOT NULL?  We suspect that since we had uploaded USOBT_C under 5.2 and if this had been an issue before, it may have been corrected when we upgraded to 5.3 but then the old data is still in our system. Is there an easy way to get around or correct this?
    Thanks.

  • Routing DNS requests in a zone to a default host

    Hi,
What I'd like to do is to direct all DNS requests for non-existent hosts to a single host by default. So even if I haven't defined a hostname in my zone, the request will still resolve (to this default host). Any ideas?
    Ben

It's possible to do via wildcard DNS, but you cannot do it via Server Admin (it doesn't permit the * for the wildcard name), therefore you have to get under the hood and edit your zone file directly.
You'll need to find your zone's domain file in /var/named and add a line like:
    *  IN  A  1.2.3.4
(where 1.2.3.4 is, obviously, the IP address you want all unknown addresses to point to).
You'll also need to increment the serial number in the SOA record near the top of the file (otherwise your change won't be noticed)
Restart named (e.g. via killall -HUP named or via Server Admin), and now any lookup for an unknown host will return the specified address.

  • Want to forward ports, but 'add' and 'default host' are grayed out! help!

Hey folks. Configuring my laptop to access a new airport express plugged in one floor below me. great signal connection works fine, but of course it isn't forwarding ports i want... so I go to set it up... now, the owner of the house set it up first, but he told me the password so I could futz with it... now when i pull up the base station config in airport admin, the relevant options are grayed out! The whole section in which default host option is located is grayed out, as are all the buttons e.g. 'add' on the forward ports tab! I've tried doing all the tricks I can think of; if anyone has any insight as to where to look to fix this, I'd appreciate it enorm.
    George

Copy these commands into TextEdit, replace the bracketed part with your username and the quoted parts with the ext HD's name, retaining the quotes.
sudo chflags 0 /Volumes/"name of ext HD"
sudo chmod a+rx /Volumes/"name of ext HD"
Launch the Terminal app in /Applications/Utilities, copy and paste the first one into the window that pops up, and hit the return key. When the Password: prompt pops up, carefully type in your admin password, since nothing shows on the screen, and hit the return key. Copy & paste the other two, one at a time, following each with hitting the return key. You won't get the password prompt, since the initial one's good for five minutes.
Quit the Terminal app and you should be able to read and write to the ext HD.

  • Critical error with default host

    Hi,
I am relatively new to Web Logic and think I have made an error within the Web Logic Console with the default host parameter. As a result, I can no longer start up my WLS.
Is there a way I can edit this parameter outside of the Web Logic Console?

    Thanks

Along the lines that Fabian suggested, this is what you can do now.
Create a new domain and compare the config.xml of that new domain with the existing one you have issues with. This should give you the an indication of the changes that need to be reverted from the existing config.xml.
And as already suggested, always take a back of the config.xml before you make any changes. :)
    Thanks,
    Patrick

  • Default Host (DMZ) and Port Mapping together

    Hi all,
I have the G5 set as a default host for all my web services through the Airport Extreme.
In the Airport Extreme's Port Mapping tab, a user is not prevented from using the port mapping tab even when the Default host is set. I want to serve video through another port not on the G5.
Does this mean I can set up port mapping for ports I do not want to go to the default host? (my G5 in this case)
I asked this on the airport forum and never got an answer, maybe you G5 folks might know. (Or maybe there is a setting that will redirect from the G5.)
    Thanks in advance,
    Jamy

I figured it out. I can't have a DMZ and separately port mapping on the Airport.

  • Default host credentials

I have installed Oracle 10g R.D.B.M.S. on Windows XP -in a standalone PC.
The problem is that i cannot define the default host credentials (host username, host password) because of the wrong password which is not true.
I believe that the host username format i try is wrong .
What format should the host username have?
    I have tried the following:
    - administrator host username (both in capital and lower letters),
    - <name of workgroup>\administrator host username (both in capital and lower letters).

I executed the 'emctl status agent ' in the command prompt and I saw that there is no problem. The Agent is running and ready!!!
Also , the url http://<host>:3938/emd/main is accessible.
But , when I checked the emagent.trc , I found the problem which is simply that the host refuses the connection.
I have inserted the last two lines of this files...
    ' (error = 10061)
    2006-03-05 16:14:00 Thread-3688 ERROR command: nmejcn: failed http connection to http://SK:1158/em/upload/: retStatus=-1

2006-03-05 16:14:04 Thread-5688 WARN http: snmehl_connect: connect failed to (SK:1158): No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.'
    NOTE 'SK' IS THE HOSTNAME
The url 'http://SK:1158/em/upload/' (which is defined in the section of emagent.trc) is unreachable but the url 'http://SK:5500/em/upload/' is reachable.
How can I modify the port that the agent 'listens' from 1158 to 5500?
    Thanks,
    Simon.
