Package java.applet doesnot exist

hi,
i try to use import.java.applet.*; at netbeans mobility but errors. it said that package java.applet does not exist
i thought that maybe my pc did not have the library.. so to test, i use normal netbeans, mean not for mobile
but then it recognise java.applet.. and i can run it. so i do not know what is the problem.. any ideas? thanx anyway

thanx for the reply, i try to develop a mobile phone game
so i thought that java.applet can be use, since that u say it has limited library
does it means that i can;t use java.applet and what other option do i have?
cant' i copy the library and put in in the mobility path?

I am getting the problem "package javax.ejb doesnot exist"
I came to know that this problem is due to the class path.
and we have to set the class path as "\\weblogic\lib\weblogicaux.jar"
I didn't set find "lib" directory and that jar file also.
I tried weblogic 9.1 and 7.0. But I was unable to find those in my weblogic directory.
How can I set the class path?

Package javax.servlet doesnot exist

i am using jsp and mysql along with jdk1.3.1_08, tomcat, redhat linux, apache for my current project. i decided to use servlets to enhance my project and make it more efficient.
however, when i compile TestServlet.java, it generates 10 errors.
one of these errors say that 'package javax.servlet' doesn't exist.
i tried searching j2ee.jar in my pc but my search results turn up empty.
so i checked the documentation and this is what it says :
Q: What do I need in my CLASSPATH?
A: All you need is a correct version of JDK (1.1.x or 1.2).
Since the JSP engine also uses 'javac' it needs to be in the CLASSPATH.
If you are using JDK 1.1.x it will automatically be included. If
you are using JDK 1.2 you will need to set JAVA_HOME to the directory
where JDK is installed or alternately you can put "tools.jar" in your
CLASSPATH.
All other classes, jar files that are needed, are put by the startserver
script and you don't need to worry about them.
Q: Where are the classes for JSPs and Servlets?
A: webserver.jar -- class files for Servlet Engine.
lib/jspengine.jar -- class files for JSP Engine.
lib/servlet.jar -- Public APIs for Servlet.
lib/jsp.jar -- Public APIs for JSP.
lib/xml.jar -- classes for parsing XML document
so, after reading the documentation, i put xml.jar, servlet.jar and webserver.jar in my classpath along with tools.jar and rt.jar

Package doesnot exists????

My Jdev version is 11.1.2.3.0.
The application was working very fine. later i created AppModuleImpl.java and added one method to AppModuleImpl.java.
After adding one method in AppModuleImpl.java getting error after running page package doesnot exist and showing the below imports:
import oracle.adf.model.BindingContext;
import oracle.binding.BindingContainer;
import oracle.binding.OperationBinding;
import oracle.jbo.JboException;
import oracle.jbo.server.ApplicationModuleImpl;
import oracle.jbo.server.ViewObjectImpl;
And in AppModuleImpl.java if i type import oracle. then its showing only * i.e. import oracle.* only exists.
what should i do to import all the above imports???

Missing-- package javax.applet does not exist

While compiling a short program to work with an image in jcreator I get a javax.applet does not exist error. I've checked the boards for this error as well as the bin dir and didn't see this package in there. Am I looking in the right place?
C:\j2sdk1.4.1_02\bin...Also looked in the jre folder as there were some others with similar problems.

"package java.xml.registry does not exist" error in NetBeans

Hi all
I'm using netbeans for developing webservices and and have to use JAXR. I have downloaded and installed jwsdp1.5.
When I view the source code for the JAXR sample java files that accompany the java EE tutorial in the NetBeans IDE Source Editor, I get the error : package java.xml.registry does not exist.
However, the release note for NetBeans says that it supports JAXR.
Also, when I compile and run the same files using DOS and the ant command, the files work.
Can someone please tell me what to do and how to work on JAXR clients in NetBeans because the Help files don't have any documentation on it nor does the NeBeans Field Guide?

Do you have the jaxrpc-api.jar and jaxprc-ri.jar in your classpath?
They are in <wspack1.1 installation>/jaxrpc-1.0.2/lib

Java Applets and Packages

Hi
I have been having problems calling my own packages in java applets to no avail
For a basic example i am storing graphics in a package called graphics and i have a class with a drawline function.
How would i call this in my main program?
At the top of the code i have imported the correct package using import useful.oh;
I have tried the "oh oh = new oh();" which does not cause any compile errors however it doesnt result in a line on screen.
I have also tried the oh.doIt(); function as suggested in some books, but java seems to dislike this and say it cannot find symbol doIt()
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

From your code it is no where written that you are using the package called graphics
You are been using
package useful;
this implies u r using the package called useful
well let me tell you how to use packages.
For example if you use a package called pack1
then that file you need to compile from parent directory as
javac -d filename.java
this will give you the folder called pack1 and the compiled file placed in it..
so to use this in other folder from parent directory then
you have to import that file
import pack1.filename;
then this will allow you to acess all the methods from that class file..

Package java.nio package does not exists

I am trying to move some steps in java environment.
I am using a Windows98 O.S.
I downloaded jdk1.3 for Windows from sun site and installed it in c:\jdk1.3.1_02
I have set path variable as .....;c:\jdk1.3.1_02\bin
I am trying to compile a java source including java.nio package.
What I do is:
javac example.java
What I get is:
package java.nio does not exists
I saw a lot of documentation about how to use java.nio but not how to link it.
Any help I appreciate.

What you need, to learn about servlets, is a JEE book. I'd suggest Head First Servlets and JSP from O'Reilly. Otherwise, follow the link I gave earlier to find tutorials.
To get started, you'll need a JDK, which you say you already have and a server. I'd suggest you get Tomcat. You will also find the servlet-api.jar after you setup Tomcat. This is an implementation of the JEE specification for servlets. This contains the javax.servlet.* packages you'll need to compile. Beyond this, the scope of what servlets are and how to deploy etc is rather large and best left to one of the afore-mentioned tutorials.

Problem Launching Java Applet with Plug-in: Version 1.4.2_01

Hello out there:
I recently installed j2re-1.4.2_01 on my home computer but have been unable to access Web sites emmploying JAva applets. The following is an email exchange with Jeff Hall of Lowell Observatory, manager of an educational site hosted by Lowell, trying to resolve my problem. The messages are better understood if read in reverse order.
I'm hoping that someone will recognize the source of my problem and can recommmend a solution. I would appreciate any help offered.

Well, I guess the problem lies with me somewhere. Here's my answer/status to your questions/suggestions:
1) I'm using MS Windows Me version 4.90.3000
2) I do have the directory C:\Windows\.jpi_cache\jar\, but the only thing in it is an empty folder labeled "1.0". The file LP.jar does not exist anywhere on my hard drive.
3) I tried several game sites that utilized Java applets and got the same results: the Java cup in the upper left corner followed a few seconds later by the red "X". So, evidently the problem is somewhere on my end.
I'm going to post our email exchanges in a Java Users Forum managed by Sun to see if anyone out there can solve my problem. However, if you have any more suggestions, I'll be glad to try them.

I still have the Java "blues". I followed your instructions, but am still unable to launch a LOPARC session. After an initial failure, I uninstalled all three Java versions I had (1.4.0, 1.4.1, 1.4.2), then reinstalled 1.4.2_01 from the Sun website.
Now, when I try to launch LOPARC, I initially get a blank window with the Java cup in the upper left corner. After about 20 seconds, the cup changes to a red "X". During those 20 seconds, the following appear in the IE message bar at the bottom of the window: "Applet LPRemote notinited" (their spelling) which changes to "Loading Java Applet Failed..." when the red "X" appears.

Try it now. I think this problem has arisen because Sun just
released a new version of the Plug-in (1.4.2), and when we released the
public beta of LOPARC, only one relevant version (1.4.0) was available
and the LOPARC code was written to look for that by default. I have
just recoded the relevant routines so they should now cause your browser
to simply pick up the latest 1.4 version of the Plug-in you have
installed, whatever it is. I "broke" Java on my machine to replicate
your problem, and the code I inserted today did fix it. Hopefully it
will have the same effect for you. I am running IE 6 and plugin
1.4.2_01 (as accessed via Tools->Sun Java Console).
One broader problem: some (non-LOPARC-specific) users on the Sun
forums have reported the "JRE collision" you are seeing when multiple
versions of the Plug-in are installed on the same machine. So if the
fix I made to our code doesn't work, one option would be to uninstall
all Java components from your computer and do a fresh install of the
latest runtime environment.

in this HTML page, a new browser session is required, press 'Yes' to
start a new browser session." If I select 'No', I get the following
message: "Java Plug-in detected JRE collission"
If I select 'Yes', a new browser window opens and then I get the first
message above.

I just helped my Dad set up his computer with a new
cable modem, and had the situation where we couldn't
access any secure Web sites. The cable folks had us
disable the proxy. It looks like the error message is
saying it can't find your proxy server, and the logs
you posted say that you've decided to configure your
proxy manually, rather than using the settings from
IE (which is how mine is set up in the plugin
control panel.)
Could that be the problem?

Some Java applets do not work after silent installation, solved by toggling "Enable Java content in the browser" - Why?

We have about 1,800 workstations running Windows 7 (both 32-bit and 64-bit) running various versions of the Java JRE from 6 update 32 through 7 update 51. Most are on 6 update 45. We would like to standardize on Java 7 update 51 (32-bit) and get everyone updated to that version for security reasons.
For the past two weeks, we have been having trouble with our installation pre-pilot. What we are seeing is that our procedure successfully closes any open Internet Explorer windows and Java-related processes, uninstalls all old versions of the Java JRE, and then claims to have successfully installed Java 7 update 51. The Java Control panel works. We can even take Internet Explorer to Verify Java Version or Java Tester - What Version of Java Are You Running? and confirm that the Java applets on those sites are loading (though the latter only works after adding the site to the exceptions site list); however, when testers try to access our Kronos Workforce Central 6.3.10 system, the Java applets used by that system do not load.
We have tried the following things, none of which worked:
Clear Internet Explorer browser cache and cookies.
Clear the local Java cache.
Reboot the computer.
Reset Internet Explorer settings, including personal settings.
The one thing which does work is going into the Java Control Panel, going to the Security tab, unchecking "Enable Java content in the browser", pressing Apply, pressing OK on the pop-up window, checking the "Enable Java content in the browser" box again, pressing OK, pressing OK on the pop-up window, and then restarting Internet Explorer. It is only after this point that all Java applets, including the ones used by Kronos Workforce Central 6.3.10, work.
What I need to know is how I can automate the procedure of reinitializing the "Enable Java content in the browser" checkbox after installation or am I doing something wrong or missing a step in the automated installation that is causing this to happen?
We are using Microsoft SCCM 2007 R3 to accomplish this upgrade, and everything is being run on the client machine using the SYSTEM account. First, the PowerShell script "javaclean.ps1" is run, with part of the command-line process changing the PowerShell script execution policy to Bypass. This script handles the closing of Java-dependent applications and Java processes and uninstalls old Java versions.

Help on this issue would be much appreciated!

It turns out that this is actually a problem with Kronos Workforce Central. We had the "site.java.plugin.CLSID.familyVersion" setting in that application set to "clsid:CAFEEFAC-0016-0000-FFFF-ABCDEFFEDCBA", which is the Java CLSID for Java 6. After updating this value to "clsid:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93" (the Java universal CLSID), this problem did not occur upon the automatic upgrade of Java.
We have both Java 6 and Java 7 in our environment, and did during our Kronos implementation, so I don't know why we were using the Java 6 CLSID in the first place.

How to activate Java Applets?

Hi,
I got some Java Applets that i try to run (again). Since Javas own security and firefox itself forbids to run Java without being activated by the user i thought i would be asked whether to activate java on my own site (local on the PC) or not. Although java is activated inside in the plugins-option menu and the correct installation of java is confirmed by java.com (test after the installation) my Java applets dont show up, not even a message saying "Applets are being blocked" or so.
In chrome i can simply activate the NPAPI in the settings and enable the flag and the applets work. Isnt there a function similar to this?
I would like to run Firefox portable on a CD to give to students. As the Java applets are being blocked i hoped to simply enable the corrosponding flag so prevent rewriting all the java applets.
Is there another developer plugin of some sort that i can pre-install into Firefox portable that does the job?

Java Applet Constantly Asks for Authentication

With have a ADF application on Weblogic 10 that has occasional access to a Java applet. The Java applet is loaded whenever it's needed and not loaded whenever it isn't in a facet. The applet is currently in the public_html/applet folder.
When we set the SSL configuration to requiring a client certificate, when the Java applet loads, it'll constantly ask for a client certificate even though the user already presented the client when hitting the website:
Request Authentication Identification required. Please select certificate to be used for authentication.
This is annoying to users and the Java Applet doesn't need authentication. Is there any way we can disable the authentication or remove the prompt?

Things I've already tried:
1) Setting the Applet up on HTTP instead of HTTPS; I get a warning about mixed content and still get the authentication pop-up.
2) Created a minimal applet that only types out "HELLO WORLD" in the console, still get the authentication pop-up

Actually, setting the archive to http://URL works fine. No more request authentications come up.

Java Applets not working using IE 6 after uninstalling software

I uninstalled some software on WinXP using Add/Remove, however the software still left remnants on my system. I tried to removing all the entries in the registry with RegEdit....I will confess I am a rookie with that tool, however now IE 6 will not launch Java Applets on the web sites I visit.
I also have Mozilla Firefox 8 installed and Java Applets work fine using that browser. Do I have to reinstall WinXP to correct IE 6, or is there an easier alternative?

Please check out in the IE Explorer Tools--> Internet Options --> in this Advanced tab this will display you with the set of options and chceck boxes...
in that please check out that whether the Java(SUN) --- (USe Java....<applet> Requires reStart...
is existing or not if existing please check it and restart the system.
if it is not existing in your broser then you have to install the JRE in the system for your Applet to work..
