Package to reboot machine fails

I am trying to push out a reboot package and nothing so far has worked.  I have a PowerShell script that executes a reboot command and I've pushed this to 1 machine.  CM2012 says it deployed yet the target machine never rebooted.
I've also tried creating a new package that runs CMD.EXE /C  and I choose AFTER RUNNING CM2012 RESTARTS COMPUTER
yet nothing reboots the machines.  When I go under MONITOR it says the packages deployed without error yet nothing happens.
how do you reboot systems in CM2012?

Nothing is wrong with the items, installed the entire image is installed if you looking at the machines via firewire. • Time machine fails backing up with a "backup disk not found" error after upgrade to Lion 10.7.2

Time machine fails backing up with a "backup disk not found" error after upgrade to Lion 10.7.2. I've erased and reformatted the drive; reconnected Time Machine(it saw it) and began a new backup. The backup starts again but fails before completing with backup drive not found error. I used the 10.7.2 combo update. Any help on how to fix this problem would be appreciated.

    Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
After waiting since October for a fix, I have now upgraded the firmware on the Time Capsule and installed the new Airport Utility, released yesterday, and the situation is even worse.
Up until now, the Airport Utility had an option to disconnect all drives manually and the Time Capsule would then work until the next reboot – a temporary (?) work-around.
Now that option does not exist in the new-look Airport Utility. And the Airport Utility installation can’t be rolled back and the old utility won’t restore.
The sparesbundle is still not accessible. Anyone worked out a work-around in the new environment yet?
I have another Time Machine backup working fine to a trusty old Lacie Drive so erased the one on my Time Capsule to see if that works. I have renamed the Capsule and the Time Capsule Drive.  But to build another full backup will take at least two days and I shall be away from tomorrow and am reluctant to leave the Capsule and computer up and running for a week. And I’ll bet the sparsbundle will still be nowhere to be found.
How can Apple screw up so badly when they are to become the richest company in the entire world and – soon – will have more cash in the bank than the entire United States? Can’t they afford someone who really can sort this out? Especially when a Firewire connected hard drive – my trusty and simple LaCie – works fine.
    Words, almost, fail me.

  • Attachment to a running virtual machine failed

I get the error message "Attachment to a running virtual machine failed" when trying to instantiate my active x bundled java bean.
The steps I took to create it are:
    javac Person.java
    jar -cvfm PersonBean.jar person_manifest Person.class
    set JRE=D:\Applications\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3.1_01
    set classpath=%JRE%\lib\rt.jar;%JRE%\lib\jaws.jar
    java sun.beans.ole.Packager
Then I answered the questions on the packager.
When I try to create the bean from inside my application, I get an error dialog with the title "Java(TM) Plug-in 1.4 Fatal Error".
When I try to create MSCal.Calendar in my application, all is well.
    Anyone know what is happening?

If you run the packager, try not to register the
newly created type library (*.TLB) immediately,
but let the packager create the registry instructions
    (a *.REG file).
Look at the *.REG file and check all references to
virtual machines. Since you are using the packager
from 1.3.1, probably the virtual machine (path for beans.ocx etc) points to the 1.3.1 JRE instead of the
    1.4 plugin.
Make sure, all references to the virtual machine are
linked correctly to 1.4 and reregister your TLB.
Hope that helps and please let us know if you were
successful, as this would indicate that indeed, beans
packaged with the packager from 1.3.1 can run in the
    1.4 plugin. Sylvia

  • Not used my G5 Powermac (late 2004) for ages. Only boots in with Installation disk, but colour dots on white screen and message comes up to reboot machine. Nothing happens.

Not used my G5 Powermac (late 2004) for  about 2 years. Was going to set it up for the lads to do school work.
However it only boots in with Installation disk, but colour dots on white screen and message comes up to reboot machine. However nothing happens apart from me keep trying. Also the numerous fans get louder and louder and louder.....
    Any ideas folks

Can you please provide details on the exact model?
For a start, the PRAM battery is likely dead.  PRAM tells the computer which drive to start with, other basic information.  Still, you can usually get the computer to start, though bad PRAM is unpredictable and could be stopping that.
Some computer models use software to control cooling fans.  If there's no software commands they automatically go into high speed to prevent overheating.  Your software obviously isn't loading, so runaway fans.

  • JInitiator 1.3 Fatal Error  Attachment to a running Virtual Machine failed

We are running forms 9i from 9ias R2. We have an outside client trying to access the application from a machine with Windows XP. They receive the following errror after downloading the Jinitiator 1.3.1.9: JInitiator 1.3 Fatal Error - Attachment to a running Virtual Machine failed. As we are using Windows 2000, we have not come across this before and I find nothing on Metalink.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so, do you have a solution?

    Hi,
whatever browser you are running, during installation of the Browser (Netscape 7.x) or IE (postinstall) you decided to make teh Java Plugin 1.4 your default JVM. This means the VM is started when JInitiator loads which then leads to this collision. Disable Java Plugin as a default VM and it shoudl work fine.

  • Creating optimized packages for my machine?

Well, I want to create x86-64 packages for my machine with Arch linux. I really enjoy pacman hence my decision.
Is there anything I need to do special for changing the optimization from i686 to x86-64? Or would a standard pkgbuild do this for me?
I read the documentation for making my own packages but I saw no way to change the optimizations that the package is built with. Does it rely on other files for the optimizations or is there a file I need to edit. I really have no clue as what I need to do exactly to make this happen.
The general build scripts seem pretty straight forward so I see no problem except for the optimization part. Any info is greatly appreciated, thanks.

  • Node/Machine fail behavior of distributed caches

My high level question is: what happens to a distributed cache when nodes fail?
We have 2 servers which run 4 JVMs each. We have the default of 1 backup set.
What happens when an entire machine fails (all 4 JVMs go down with the ship)?
What happens when I stop and restart each JVM one at a time?
My main concern is data-loss. Since I have backup set to 1 my expectations for both of my scenarios above is that I would lose no cached data, but that does not appear to be the case. I am left wondering in what scenarios the backups help.
How does the cluster tell the difference between (a) a node failed but will be restored soon enough so don't reduce the cluster size, and (b) a node was removed and will never come back so reduce the cluster size?
It would be nice to see a wiki page that describes the gory details of how the cluster handles various failure scenarios.

Each partition is allocated to a JVM and a backup of that partition is allocated to another JVM. If you are running on multiple physical machines then Coherence will put the backup partition on another machine to the primary. You can tell how successful Coherence has been at doing this by looking at the StatusHA value for your services in JMX using something like JConsole. If the backup partitions are on different machines to the primary partitions the StatusHA value will say MACHINE-SAFE, if the backup is on the same machine as the primary the StatusHA value will be NODE-SAFE and if there is no backup the StatusHA value will be ENDANGERED.
There is also a status called BALANCED, which means that besides being MACHINE-SAFE, the partitions are also as evenly distributed between nodes (not boxes) as possible.
When you loose a JVM (or multiple JVMs if you loose a whole machine) this cause a partition loss event for the partitions that were allocated to the dead JVMs. In the case of loosing a single JVM the backup partition now becomes the primary and a new backup ios created (following the same rules about creating the backup on another machine if possible). If you loose a whole machine then the same thing happens but on a bigegr scale.
A small correction: partition loss event happens is when you lose both the primary and all backups. What you described is not a partition loss, as a backup is there and is promoted to primary.
Also, losing a whole machine is the same only in the case when you were machine-safe (or at least those partitions which had primaries on the lost box were machine-safe). If those partitions were not machine safe, then you would have lost partitions as all copies to non-machine-safe partitions on that box were lost.
Other than that it does happen as described.
In your case you should not necesarrily see data loss if you kill a single node from the cluster you described and neither should you loose data if you kill a whole machine. As mentioned, provided that the cluster or at least the partitions having primaries on the killed box are machine-safe.
There are scenarios where data loss can occur, for example loosing two JVM on different machines at exactly the same time - this is becuse there is a very high chance that those two JVMs shared primary and backups for at least one partition.
If you loose a JVM the cluster size will always be reduced - it cannot be anything else as a node has just departd the cluster.
The above descriptions may be a bit simplified but I think they are close enough to describe what you wanted to know.

    Robert

  • Time Machine Fails when VPN is Active

Running Cisco VPN that allows local access to my 192.168 network with no problem for other applications. However, Time Machine fails to find my local NAS drive when the VPN is active. The NAS and MBP are on the same subnet. Any thoughts or reasons why this is occurring and how to resolve the issue?
    Thanks.

If you're using the Cisco client built-in to OSX, be sure that "Send all traffic over VPN" is disabled. With the client from Cisco, I think the checkbox is called something like "Allow local LAN access." Be sure that that is enabled.
Note that this setting can be overridden by the VPN administrator, and often is. (Usually for security or company policy reasons.) So do not be surprised if the checkboxes have no effect for you. If that is the case, then you'll have to speak to the VPN administrator to see if they'll make an exception.

  • Time machine fails on new iMac

I upgraded to a new 21.5" iMac from a g5 iMac.  I transferred my files and have two external hard drives one with photos and one for time
(all worked great on the g5). Main programs in use on the g5 is lightroom and iTunes for the iPhone and iPad.    I have been unable to get time machine to work with my files installed. Both the iMac and backup drive have been replaced with no results. When ihave a clean system with my files I have been able to use time machine for two days before it failed at best.
Every time time machine fails my system starts to act strange and I am forced to do a wipe and reinstall. Have done a complete wipe and install on the iMac and reformatted the new external drive (have left the photo drive off as I got a failure with out that drive connected).  I have not installed any of my files and so far time machine works.  I suspect some sort of corrupt file. Any suggestions on the next steps? I plan an waiting a few more days on the backups just to be sure they work without my files or programs installed.

    Wire fox terrier wrote:
Is there any software that can detect corrupt files? Disk utilities says all drives are fine.
    Not really.
Disk Utility (and other similar apps) check the File System on the disk (the various directories, catalogs, etc., for completeness and consistency, not the internal layout of each file.
Since different kinds of files have different data layouts, and no central registry of the rules,  there's no realistic way to check all the possibilities.
Unlike most backup apps, Time Machine does index them, however, and in the process sometimes finds problems.  If there's a serious problem, it normally sends a message naming the file, then fails, so you can exclude the file from being backed-up, fix it, or delete it.
Considering the symptoms you're seeing, it's likely either an intermittent hardware problem, or something you dragged from your G5 was already damaged, or damaged in the process, or came from a different OS (like Windoze) and didn't get translated properly.   Since you get no messages, it's going to be very tedious to narrow it down.
    From your previous post:
Both a capture program from apple tech and send to apple via about this Mac (system profiler) would not work.
Do you mean they wouldn't run properly, or you sent them to Apple and they either haven't responded or said they couldn't find anything?
