Packages required for 9iDS Linux

What packages I need to install when 9iDS complete is to be installed on Red Hat Linux 8.

When You run ./orainst as oracle user Red Hat check all needed RPM's. If You dont have any of needed RPM's OUI send message failed so You should download those RPM's. I think that you need kernel 2.4.9-e.25 (i have Red Hat advanced server 2.1, dont know for red hat 9), glibc and pdksh RPM's are always needed for oracle.

  • Packaging required for event-driven message processing

    Hi,
    Could you pls. let me know whether message packaging is required for using event-driven message processing in Integration Server (PI).
    Also can we use event-driven message processing in Integration Server (PI) for outbound HTTP adapter interface.
    Thanks.
    Best Regards,
    Gajendra.

    What is your scenario and why exactly your are looking for event-based message processing?
    Normally those are background jobs which triggers the services(inbuilt ) and makes the process designed by us to run.
    In case ofR/3 its possible to do so i.e to trigger messages based on event like incase of proxt to PI can be done through Event-based

    Thanks for the info.,
    could you tell me what firewire components you are using? I know that we need the fireware cards in the pcs/servers, the firewire hub, and the firewire drive. However, I am having difficulty identifying which firewire components to buy, ie., which ones are compatible with Linux Red Hat (AS). The Red Hat HCL revealed nothing to me. Any info you could give me on the components you are using would be greatly appreciated and save me a lot of time.
    Thanks again,

  • RPMS compatibility packages required for 8.0.5.1 EE install?

    Hello,
    I am using Caldera OpenLinux 2.2. Do I need to install the
    RPMS compatibility packages from Redhat to relink Oracle
    executables for Oracle 8.0.5.1 Enterprise Edition install?
    TIA,
    Phil
    null

    Installing Oracle8I EE on Caldera 2.2
    Follow instructions for setting up the Linux environment for the Oracle8I install:
    Install the Java Runtime Environment (Refer to Oracle Document# A74960-02)
    Install the Tool Command Language (Refer to Oracle Document# A74960-02) Perform steps 1 -> 6. Step seven is done after the patches are applied.
    Install libcrypt software or the Oracle Intelligent Agent cannot be relinked after the patches are applied:
    Source: ftp.gnu,org
    Binary: ftp:linuxland.de
    Create linux id oracle with group dba
    Edit oracles profile to include the following variables:
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/lib
    CLASSPATH=$ORACLE_HOME/jlib:$ORACLE_HOME/product/jlib:<JRE install directory>
    ORACLE_BASE=<Oracle Base Directory>
    ORACLE_HOME=$ORACLE_BASE/product/8.1.5
    ORACLE_SID=<Your Choice>
    PATH=$PATH:$ORACLE_HOME/bin
    Oracles patches wants gmake so create a symbolic link:
    ln s gmake make
    Run the installer:
    Ive had to cd to directory /mnt/cdrom/install/linux and run the installer with the command runInstaller runIns.sh
    When ask to build an instance go ahead but save the scripts to files on the disk. The scripts can be run later once the patches are applied.
    Before any patches can be applied the ldflags file must be created and genclntsh must be run.
    cat $ORACLE_HOME/network?install/ldflags* > $ORACLE_HOME/lib/ldflags
    Remove all newlines from ldflags.
    Run genclntsh
    Copy $ORACLE_HOME/lib/ldflags $ORACLE_HOME/network/lib/.
    Ive also modified file /etc/ld.so.conf, adding the line <$Oracle Home>/lib. DO NOT USE $ORACLE_HOME but the fully qualified path. Run ldconfig.
    Apply the Oracle8I patches 81501 and 81502. The single patch file contains both. Review the patch logs in the /tmp directory. There should be no errors.
    Follow the instructions for relinking the Oracle Intelligent Agent as outline in Oracle Document# A74960-02. You should have already install the tcl software so you can go step 7.

  • Fusion middleware system requirements for oracle Linux 7

    Hello,
    I'm currently studying document E54272-01 (Oracle® Fusion Middleware System Requirements and Specifications
    12c (12.1.3) September 2014) in order to install Fusion Middleware 12c products on a Oracle Linux 7 server.
    The "Linux Operating System Requirements" section doesn't include Oracle Linux 7 system requirements, does it mean Fusion Middleware 12c products are not yet certified for OL7?
    PS : I'm unable to find a pdf version of E54272-01 document, if anybody has the URL, I'll appreciate.
    Daniel

    Daniel,
    The compatibility matrix for 12.1.3 can be found here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/fusion-middleware/documentation/fmw-1213certmatrix-2226694.xls
    As you will see, for now only Oracle Linux 5 and 6 are compatible.
    Thanks,
    Parisi

  • Korean Language Support Package required for Reader but not Acrobat?

    One of our departments on campus has created a form that is causing some users to get a message prompting them to download the Korean Language Support Package in order to fill in the form fields.
    When I originally tested this in Acrobat Pro 9 I didn't get any errors.  Another user also reported the issue recently (two this week).  So we tested it again, but this time used both Reader 9 and Reader X -- both programs were generating this message to download the language pack.  The form appears to be completely in English with no Korean characters.  It uses fairly standard fonts and I didn't see any embedding or encoding issues with the fonts.
    Aside from having end users download a Korean Language Support Pack to view a PDF that doesn't seem to contain any Korean, are there any other options out there without recreating the form from scratch?  Here is a list of the fonts used in the PDF.  The only types of encoding are Ansi and Identity-H (which I expanded in the SS above), with the latter fonts being embedded within the PDF.
    Any ideas?  The form is linked below.  Thanks in advance for your replies.
    Here is a link to the PDF

    SOLVED
    While our problems differ, my solution may still be relevant.
    My culprit was a rogue font in an embedded Visio drawing. I identified and located the font using the "List text using non-embedded fonts" Preflight analysis in Acrobat 9.4 Pro. I checked the encoding of each non-embedded font and discovered that Arial Unicode MS used Korean font encoding (specifically, KSCms-UHC-H). See screenshot below. Doubleclicking on one of the font properties highlighted the offending text in the pdf.
    I went to that location in the source file, which happened to be in the first embedded Visio drawing (shown above). I double clicked the drawing, selected all, and selected Arial font. Then I regenerated the pdf and viewed it in Reader X. The Korean language pack error message did not appear and all Visio drawings displayed normally.
    I would recommend using the Acrobat preflight tools to locate text or objects with incorrect font encoding within your PDF or form, then surgically striking (or carpet bombing) the affected location(s) in the source files with embedded/supported fonts.
    Hope this helps.

  • Packages required for a minimalistic KDE Deskop?

    Dear all,
    I have installed Archlinux base and would like to install KDE Desktop. Which is the best option to get a minimalistic KDE desktop? Will 'packman -S 'kde-base-workspace' meet the needs? Please help.
    Thanks,
    egnu

    egnu wrote:Thank you, may I know what all packages will it contain ?
    You can verify the packages that it will install when you run 'pacman -S kdebase-workspace'.  You can also use 'pacman -Si kdebase-workspace' to verify the package and its dependencies.
    I strongly recommend you also run 'man pacman'.

  • What packages are required for an 11.2.0.3 install on Solaris 11?

    Where can I find information on which packages are required to install Oracle 11.2.0.3 on Solaris 11?
    The documentation only mentions Solaris 10. I tracked down the packages required for Solaris 10, and most of them are either included in the GA release of 11 or obsoleted.
    There are however a couple of packages that are missing from the base install of Solaris 11:
    SUNWarc (renamed to):
         * consolidation/osnet/osnet-incorporation (installed)
         * developer/library/lint (missing)
    SUNWhea (renamed to):
         * consolidation/osnet/osnet-incorporation (installed)
         * system/header (misising)
    So it looks like developer/library/lint and system/header are packages from required for Solaris 10 that are missing on 11. The installer however doesn't check for any packages whatsoever.
    Does that mean it's safe to install the database?

    Here is list of packages you need in order to install Oracle 11gR2 on Solaris 11:
    SUNWarc SUNWbtool SUNWhea SUNWlibms SUNWpool SUNWpoolr SUNWsprot SUNWtoo SUNWlibm SUNWuiu8 SUNWfont-xorg-core SUNWfont-xorg-iso8859-1 SUNWmfrun SUNWxorg-client-programs SUNWxorg-clientlibs SUNWxwfsw SUNWxwplt
    Some of the above are installed by default which you can find by:
    pkginfo -i SUNWarc SUNWbtool SUNWhea SUNWlibms SUNWpool SUNWpoolr SUNWsprot SUNWtoo SUNWlibm SUNWuiu8 SUNWfont-xorg-core SUNWfont-xorg-iso8859-1 SUNWmfrun SUNWxorg-client-programs SUNWxorg-clientlibs SUNWxwfsw SUNWxwplt
    I believe you will only have to install the following:
    pkg install compatibility/packages/SUNWxwplt SUNWarc SUNWhea SUNWxorg-client-programs SUNWxorg-clientlibs
