Packaging Files for Review

I want to send my SWF file (created in Captivate 5) for review, but I cannot use the Captivate Reviewer.  I simply want to send this file to someone in email.
When I publish and run the project in my browser, everything works.  However, when I simply run it from the SWF file a few things are missing.
There is a loader that runs an animation that pulls my course title from a text file.  I can't get that title to show up.
Secondly, the navigation bar is not present in some of the slides; and I know it's set properly, because it appears when I preview in my browser after publishing.
Any ideas how to correct this and how to most effectively package these files for review, if you're not using the Reviewer?

Hi Harooki,
The best thing would be that you zip the entire published folder and then e-mail it to your reviewer. For your SWF to show everthing properly -  There is a loader that runs an animation that pulls my course title from a text file - all external dependent files should be present in the folder.

  • Packaging files for service providers in Illustrator CS3 necessary?

    Hi, i need to
package my files in Illustrator for a service provider
tonight in the same fashion one would do
in InDesign for a service provider.
But Illustrator does not have 'File->package.'
From what I can see I might go to the links palette
and use that to embed images?
But i was also told that you usually don't want to embed
Well, i'm obviously confused, anyone who can point me in the
right direction, that would much appreciated,
    Thankyou.

Yeah, there's no easy way to package up the fonts unless you use Art Files or Scoop. From "Find Font..." you can then go to the finder and search for the fonts you've used. If it's only a couple, it's not too bad. Just make sure you get the right versions... (I know I have about 20 faces of Futura...)
If the service provider isn't going to be making any changes to the copy, then there is really no reason not to outline the fonts.
Outlining fonts changes them from text to shapes, treating them just like any other shape in your file, removing your ability to edit text (so it should be one of the last steps in your pre-flighting of a file) and it guarantees that what you send the printer is what you'll get back.
Keep a live (not outlined) copy of all your files for future use and send the printer an outlined version.
Or, if this is something you're going to be doing a lot of, and you don't want to outline the fonts, look into Art Files or Scoop. I know Art Files is only like $50, and it works great.

  • Ciscoview Package File for Nexus 7010

I found an old support modules table at
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_ciscoview/device_support/table/cvsdt.html
dated Feb 28, 2012. I cannot find one newer.
I have LMS 4.1 and I'm trying to render a Nexus 7010 in Ciscoview. I have downloaded the latest package files. The Sup2 and Fab2 modules (N7K-SUP2 and N7K-C7010-FAB-2) show as "unsupported card".
What packages and versions are required to recognize this card with LMS 4.1?

The Sup2 requires 9.0 of the package file (dated 1/2/2013). You can download it here. (Click all Releases, 6.1.0, then choose the Nexus 7000 package.)
The readme is here. It mentions the N7K-C7009-FAB2 is supported (since 7.0) but nothing about the 7010-FAB-2 so you may still be out of luck on that one.

  • Can't send a html file for review

I am a beginner with Dreamweaver. I have created an index home page and wanted other people to review and critique the page, but when i e-mail the index.html file it opens incompletely and without content in their browsers. Seems it will only open correctly on my computer on which the file was created. Dropbox will not work or Google Cloud. Please help.
    Thank you
As an add on to my question, when i try to share the page within my browser, i get an error message saying the page is secure or is not accessible by the public.

Ultimately, you'll need to purchase a domain name *yourName.com* and obtain commercial web hosting for your site.  Once you have a domain name & web hosting in place, you upload your page(s) and dependant files to that web space for the world to see.
If you don't have web hosting yet, you can obtain a temporary free space below.
    http://www.000webhost.com/
Also, many ISPs offer a small, free web space with their plans (Earthlink, AT&T, Verizon, etc...)

  • SCORM package files for Dreamweaver/Coursebuilder interactions

    Gentlefolk;
Trying to see if I can get Dreamweaver (CS3) with Coursebuilder interactions to play with LearnCenter LMS. The site is not loading because the LMS can't find the SCORM manifest files.
I don't see an export function in Dreamweaver that would create the manifest files. Is there a way to generate the manifest files, so LearnCenter has something to grab onto?
Or have I tumbled to the reason everyone is using Captivate?
    Many thanks!
    Don

    Hi Vijay;
It has been a while since I started this thread or even looked at it, so I am hazy on my original inquiry. I will have to look again. Short answer to your question however is that every tool I play whith that outputs to SCORM-compliant content automagically creates the manifest files and all the related support files.
I just wanted to acknowledge your message right now. Let me look at the original thread and see if I have any more information that may directly assist you.

  • "cannot copy necessary linked files" when trying to package files

I am trying to package files for a customer and I get the message "cannot copy necessary linked files". Nothing shows as missing or any errors.  Anyone else encountered this?

It's REALLY annoying that this hasn't been fixed...
In Sweden we use a lot of å, ä, ö. And it's never a problem to name files with these characteres (and yes, I use an Apple computer).
Before you could always copy all the files without any problems, but these days you need to rename them.
Which can a totall nightmare if you have a file with hundreds of pictures... then you need to go through the whole list of links, carefully change all the names and then update them every single picture one by one.
Which means hours of totally meaningless work.

There are two main annoying problems with Flash Builder and swc's:
    1.  Flash Builder doesn't reflect changes made to swc files
Solution : First of all - keep your swc files inside your project folder, you can also disable global swc cache: change as3api.cpp code, refresh swc in flashBuilder bug!
    2. Flash Builder breakes content inside swc files (and also popular problem "TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert flash.display::MovieClip@1f21adc1 to...")
Solution : locate the project .actionScriptProperties file and set useFlashSDK=”false” :  Flash Builder 4.7 – useFlashSDK | In Flagrante Delicto!
In this case you can also download latest Apache Flex SDK to target new Flash player versions: http://flex.apache.org/
    Hope this helps!

  • Where can I download adobe File Packager tool for Windows?

    Dear all,
I need to understand the detail format of f4f files, but the only useful information I can find is the following:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/httpdynamicstreaming/pdfs/httpdynamicstreaming_wp_ue.pdf
Is there more detail specification for f4f ?
Where can I download adobe File Packager tool for Windows?
It seems to me the following specification is not correct for f4f, at least the parts talking about "mdat" box
    http://download.macromedia.com/f4v/video_file_format_spec_v10_1.pdf
    Thanks,
    Xuedong

As per your question – follow this link http://www.adobe.com/products/adobe-media-server-family.html, download and install AMS Starter, then inside \tools\f4fpackager you’d find the F4F packager command-line application.

  • How to send (larger files) for 'Shared Review'?

We are unable to get PDF files above 5.5MB to successfully 'Send for Shared Review' to a WebDav server (using Acrobat Pro 9.3.0 on OSX 10.5.8).
The 'save' process fails at the final stage & the PDF is not uploaded to the server.  Files below that size can be sent for Shared Review without any problems.  Have tested this on different WebDav servers & domains - and with various PDF files.
Has anyone been able to get PDF files above 5/6MB to successfully 'Send for Shared Review' to a WebDave server???
Is there a file size limit for individual PDF files for 'Shared Review' using a WebDav server???
    Thanks for your help!!!

Try creating a review without sending the file and then send the link in a seperate email.
I used the "Do not send email invitation, just save localy" option and didn't add any reviewers in the wizard. Afterwards I sent a email with a link to the file to all reviewers and it worked.

  • To change "package" file format to "flat" files for iDisk

First, let me thank Yvan Koenig for providing a great script to convert "Word2Pages"...
There is a problem at present discussed on the MobileMe forum page, with files not uploading to iDisk using Finder. One problem is that whereas "flat" files load, "package" files do not. (There is a choice in the Pages Preferences for these options.) This limitation also applies to emailling files.
I used Yvan's "Word2Pages" batch conversion script for hundreds of files which saved me days of work. However, to load these onto my iDisk I need to convert them to "flat" files.
Please can I humbly ask him to write a similar script for converting files from "package2flat". I am not so advanced as he in computer literacy and would surely appreciate his help.

    Yvan,
Thank you finding a solution to the default setting. I wonder how many Pages 09 files have been produced as packages with umpteen subfolders for things that will never be used. No wonder my Finder kept on crashing when I tried to upload to my iDisk.
I have written a bug report to Apple via Pages so hope they will change the default setting for "Copy Audio and Movies to the Document".
I am puzzled about your Word2Pages script still producing "package" files even after making the changes to default values that you describe. Could it be that the code is calling up old default values from somewhere else. There seems to be a plist in the Application folder and another in the User library.
Is this the relevant piece of code?
    on getPlistValue(valName, default)
    local thePlist, u
set thePlist to (path to preferences folder as Unicode text) & "com.apple.iWork." & theApp & ".plist"
    tell application "System Events"
    if exists file thePlist then
tell contents of property list file thePlist
    try
set u to (value of property list item valName) (* Unicode Text *)
on error (* Here if Numbers never saved with the new preferences file. *)
    set u to default
    end try
end tell -- to contents of…
else (*Here if there is no preferences file. *)
    set u to default
    end if
end tell -- to system events
    return u
    end getPlistValue
Well I am trying to learn Applescript but not finding it easy.

  • Sending File for Shared Review

I want to send a number of captivate files for shared review. Do I need to create a seperate email for each file and log in each time. Or is there a way to bundle a few of the captivate files together and jsut send them in one email.
Or can I give someone access to a folder on my workspace in the Adobe area.
    Thanks
    Jo

Is the bundled Reviewer not waht you want? The reviewers do not need to have Captivate installed, just have to download the reviewer which is free.
You can post files on workspaces.acrobat.com and share the workspace or files with other people. Or you can use the service SendNow to send files as well.

  • Reset config files for a package

According to https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pa … save_Files I have this situation in my config files:
    original = X, current = Y, new = X
Is there a way to set current config files of package to X and save Y as .pacsave OR install X as .pacnew and leave Y in place without removing package?
Last edited by Evgeniuz (2012-03-12 22:00:00)

I'm not positive I'm understanding you right, but if I am and you are talking about basically backing up a package's config file, it is pretty simple.  I believe the .pacnew and .pacsave refers to changes in the makeup of a package in general, not its config file.
To change back to the original config and save the modified version you can just add .backup or anything onto the end of the file that you don't want to use right now .  Then, you just need to save the file that you want to use as the config file with wthe filename of the configuration file for that package (so the same but w/o the .backup).
Sorry if I am misunderstanding you and you really did mean .pacnew or .pacsave and not config files.  Or if I am totally wrong but that is my understanding of config files and I know it has worked for me in multiple instances.

  • Packaging a .bar file for the BlackBerry Tablet (Playbook) Simulator Using Command Line.

Hi there, I've been trying to deploy one of my AIR apps on the BlackBerry Tablet (PlayBook) Simulator and and have run into a problem packaging the .bar file using the command line.  I started this off by reading the article at:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/devices/articles/blackberry_playbook_battery.html
I followed some of the steps there, but found this article on how to package my files using a command line more helpful (the Adobe article doesn't even explain how to package the .bar file using the command line):

Has anyone run into this issue when trying to package a .bar file for the BlackBerry Tablet (Playbook) Simulator?  I've tried using a SWF published in CS5 and CS4.

Just thought I'd reply to my own post, in case someone else runs into this problem.  Make sure you have the latest and greatest versions of the JDK and JRE installed on your system, in addition to the requirements listed in BlackBerry's list of installs:
