Packaging instructions

Hi Experts,
I had a question about packing functionality
i had a material (Mouse), and it should be packed in 3 different steps with 3 packing materials (1 cardboard, 2 paper, 3 box), i have defined the packing material grp, and assigned packaging materials to it, now in the delivery or in shipment, how will the user know in what sequence should be the packing done in sequence, as we know that packing will be specific to customer which means flow from "Incoterms" from SD document, so depending on that the user will know what "Instructions" he need to use for that customer, but "How will the user know the sequence", and how are the "Packing instructions" assigned, and to what are they assigned??
Regards,
MAX

Create Packing Instructions whch will tell you how to pack.
Transaction: POP1.
  Create a packing instruction
Step1: Enter P and enter the box (packaging material in SAP) and the target quantity and in the next line - Enter I (Sub packaging instru) and the packaging instruction number of Step2.
Step2: Enter P and enter the Cardboard (packaging material in SAP) and the target quantity and in the next line - Enter I (Sub packaging instru) and the packaging instruction number of Step3.
Step3: Enter P and enter the Paper (packaging material in SAP) and the target quantity and in the next line - Enter M (Material) and the Mouse.
Transaction POF1.
Enter SHIP and select Material /  ship to party.
Then enter the Ship to Party and Step1 packaging instruction.
When the autopack is done, you will know the sequence it has to packed. Eg: 0 ,1 ,2 3, .. in the delivery.

  • Help with Transaction POP1: Create Packaging Instruction Initial

When ever I try to create packaging instruction through POP1, I get the error:
Manually-entered packing instruction ID cannot be checked
    Can somebody please help?
    With regards,
    Ketan

    Hi Ketan,
This has something to do with the number range objects.
Check in Customizing (SPRO->Logistics General->Handling Unit Management -> Automatic Packing -> Packing Instructions Master Data -> Define Number Ranges for Packing Instructions (or transaction OPIN) whether the following intervals are defined:
Give a number which is within the number range you have defined.
If your number range is not external, then just go to POP1 and enter, it will automatically assign a number to the packaging instruction
Hope this helps you. Reward if this helps.

  • Air 2.7 iOS packager instructions.

    Hi,
I currently have Flash CS 5.0.  Where can I find instructions on using Air 2.7 iOS packager with it?  I would prefer the IDE interface, not the command line.
If this is not possible with Flash CS5.0, can it be done with Flash CS 5.5?
    Thank you.

Replacing Air 2.6 directory with Air 2.7 directory sounds like a hack.  Is that recommended by Adobe?
I'm curious why after doing such an amazing job optimizing Air 2.7 for iOS they didn't update the Flash IDE to better integrate with the latest Air.  It would seem like the most trivial part of the update.

  • Packaging instruction vs WM2 view - force repacking?

    Folks,
    I have the following scenario:
HUM is active in WM. I have an inbound delivery (ASN from vendor) for 5 pieces and these 5 pieces are packed on 1 pallet. My WM2 view says 1 pieces per pallet. During TO creation, the HU is completely put to 1 bin, whereas it should have been divided to 5 bins (as per WM2 view). Only arriving at the bin, we will notice that we have to unpack or repack which is too late.
Is there a way to force repacking / unpacking before or during TO creation, based on a check between actual packaging and WM2 view? Or is there any other way to cover this?
I can have a packing instruction for inbound saying 1 piece per pallet but the vendor can decide differently.
    Thanks for the suggestions.

    Hi,
If you are talking about manual packing at inbound delivery ( as you preferred to escape automatic packing through packing instruction because of vendor's choice). You can maintain an allowed weight/Volume limit of packing material ( Pallet) so that it can pack only one piece instead of packing 5 or more number of pieces at a time. For that case you have to maintain weight/Volume of each material you want to pack so that system can identify them while packing.
If the materials arrive at your doorstep being packed by vendor then you can  repack in the inbound delivery or using T.Code HUMO ( Handling Unit Monitor).
Otherwise you have to create some developments program to check incoming HU content vs. Material WMS2 View

  • How to   find   a Packaging Instructions procedure

I mean by what factor, Order type? delivery type?

    Hi
There is no particular T-code for Packing Instructions
    Packing With Packing Instructions
Packing with packing instructions enables you to automate the packing process.
The system uses specific criteria to determine packing proposals, which the shipping clerk/warehouse personnel can use to pack the goods according to customer and shipping requirements and simultaneously reproduce the resulting handling unit in the system with ease.
Packing with packing instructions is based on the condition technique, which the system uses to determine the appropriate packing instructions.
In this step, you set packing instruction determination. You also define number ranges and inspection profiles for packing instructions.

    Srinivas.

  • Help! I downloaded Firefox, because I need it to deal with a particular website. Only, I can't cut and paste MY OWN FILES! It tells me I need to adjust my 'profile'. Yet all the packaged instructions don't make sense.

I'm told that I need to change 'profile' settings, yet I cannot seem to do this.

Try using this extension to set those permissions - Allow Clipboard Helper: <br />

    Hi,
I checked the automatic packing configuration. There is no packaging instructions defined in it.Neither there is any Procedure created to detrmine packing instructions.
Is there anything else that I can check?

  • Regarding:Return process of Packaging material to Vendor

    Dear SAP Experts,
When we purchase consumables material it come in packaging material from vendor.
Then we send packaging material back to vendor. But this process is mannual.
Now we want this process by system.
Please help to configure this procedure in my system.
    With Regards
    Mukul Kumar

    hI,
I hope you are looking for packaging instruction for vendor.
As vendor will send the materiel in packaging and after delivering the material will take back the packaging material. if this is yes. Then it can be deal with Handling unit the benefit you would have of this  is, harmonized way of packaging  the material. And  even  you can create packaging instruction to vendor with weight and seize of the product .
Configuration as below for handling unit.
Go to SPRO> Logistics - General>Handling Unit Management--step1)>Define Packaging Material Types
Step 2) Define Material Group for Packaging Materials-
Step 3) Define Allowed Packaging Materials- By assigning packaging material types to the material groups for packaging materials, you define which packaging materials are allowed for packing.
Step 4) Use Handling Unit Supplements
SPRO> Logistics - General>Handling Unit Management>External Identification>Set Unique Number Assignment for HU Identification--It is only possible to indicate a storage location as HU-managed if you have set this indicator. The use of non-assigned handling units without unique number assignment is not supported
Step 2) Number Range Maintenance for HU Identification--You can maintain number ranges for number assignment for handling unit identification via number range intervals which is consists of 9 digits without overlapping
step 3) SSCC Generation Acc to EAN128
3 a) Maintain Number Range Object for SSCC-- Number range object "LE_SSCC" is provided with interval "01" and a 9-digit number length. Create the number range objects and intervals necessary for your organization and country dependent.
3 b) Maintain SSCC Generation for Each Plant / Storage Location-
    4) SPRO> Logistics - General>Handling Unit Management>Automatic Packing> Packing Instructions Master Data-->Define Number Ranges for
    Packing Instructions.
All your setting is in place
Then go to POP1 to create packaging instruction.
And maintain determination record using POF1 with key combination as vendor /Plant/ material, for condition type RCPT For incoming material & SHIP-Ship to party material.
Or even you can send back the returnable packaging material by using 501M > MIGO>Other Movt type--> 501M.
    Hope this clear.

  • Problem with package and compile

I am new to Java. I am currently using Java in developing a simple system. However, my system need to import other external classes.
The main problem is i dont know how to compile this file when they are in separate folder (i am using windows). Let say the main .java is in one folder and other external .java in other folders. I knew this can be done with the use of package. the problem is when i try to compile, there is a problem.
I used to refer from the below link for many times, but still cannot get it.
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/tooldocs/win32/javac.html
can anyone provide me the most simple way of:
    1. import from external classes into my main system
    e.g: import com.jrefinery.report.Element;
    2. how to compile all .java from different directory
    3. after i compile, i need the .class files place in other directory
advanced thanks to those who able to provide help.
    Sosan

can anyone provide me the most simple way of:
    1. import from external classes into my main system
e.g: import com.jrefinery.report.Element;You can use the -classpath option with javac, specifying the path of your external classes.
    javac -classpath C:/classes D:/classes
    2. how to compile all .java from different directoryYou simply indicate the path of the different sources files one after the other, like that :
However, you really should put all your source files in the same package unsig the package instruction. All files that belong to the same package must reside in the same directory indicated by the package name. Look up some doc about the package instruction.
javac -classpath C:/classes D:/classes C:/source/myclass.java D:/source/myClass.javaYou should put all the source files in 1 directory an compile using the * wildcard by :
    "javac C:/sources/*.java" for example
    3. after i compile, i need the .class files place in
other directoryuse -d option with javac to specify the output directory :
javac -classpath C:/classes D:/classes -d C:/outputdir C:/source/myclass.java D:/source/myClass.javaTo simplify things, put all source files in the same directory and put a copy of each external package you use in this directory. So you won't have to use classpath.
I also suggest you write a .bat file to do all the operations at once, and stick with it so that each time you change something in the sources you won't have to go through all the steps.
Beware, because path issues in java can be very tricky.

  • Subordinate packaging for handling units labels

  • How to treat packaging material at GR / no track

    Guru ,
i have done GR for a material with a packaging material which consistutes a handling unit .
ie handling unit= materaial + packaging material .
when i did GRN , maetrial is shown in the storage location . fine .
where is the packaging material along the material gone . NO trace of it .
please help , my question is genuine .
    manu

    Hi Manu,
I assume your basic settings for handling units are ok (e.g. item category group settings in material master for packmat and to-be-packed material - e.g. MARA-VHART, MVKE-MTPOS, MARA-MAGRV).
    What you have to do:
    - SPRO > LE > SHipping > Deliveries > Define Item Category Determination for Deliveries - here you have to set: "Delivery type"-"Item category group"-"Usage"-"item category high level item"-Item category" combination (e.g.: LF-LEIH-PACK-<empty>-DLN)
    - SPRO > LE > Shipping > Pack > Define Packaging Material Types - here you have to maintain Plant determination for HU" field for your packmat ("Plant proposed from the first item that was packed).
Please also ensure whether generation of packaging material type is allowed for the delivery type you use: SPRO > LE > Shipping > Deliveries > Delivery Type - here set "Gen. pack. matl. item"
If these settingsare ok > create the delivery in VL01N > pack the main item (VL02N > (menu) Edit > Pack). Whe you go back to overview you should see the newly generated item for your packaging material.
If you want the packaging material item automatically generated when you create the delivery, you have to:
    - maintain packaging instruction for the to-be-packed item
    - set auto pack indicator for delivery type (SPRO > LE > Shipping > Deliveries > Delivery Type - here set "Automatic packing")
