Packaging Layout grouping issue

Hi All,
we have to implement the packages types grouping in Packaging Layout Template (Delivery -> Right Click -> Packaging).
we did all the steps to have the grouping (SortValue(), repetitive area Sort and so on), but there is no grouping by the same Package Type as expected.
Could anyone comment on this or give the steps to have the grouping implemented.

I just get the system layout and tried to adjust it.
Could you test the following scenario on the layout you did:
1. add 3 packages - 2 of them should has the same type - example: Pallet, Container, Pallet
2. check if these 2 packages (Pallet) are grouped, so you have to see 2 groups - one for Pallet (2 packages content should be included into that group) and one for Container.

Report with grouping issue

I have a report which have year(2008), Category(0-1,2-3, ALL), product(0,1,2,3,4..), % sales. I group by all the category elements and called it as All, I am not getting the right percentage sales for the Category ALL other wise for 0-1,2-3 i am getting it right. Sorting /Grouping Issue: Single Artist Compilation Album Doesn't Group

iTunes 8 Sorting / Grouping Issue
EXAMPLE
• Album: Essential Willie Nelson
• There are 22 songs on this Disc
• 19 of them are labelled "Willie Nelson" in the artist field
• 3 of them are lebelled "Willie Nelson Feat. Waylon Jennings" in the artist field
PROBLEM
• Album will not stay grouped together when in the standard "Sort by Artist" in Grid View. A very legitimate expectation to be able to have Willie's name listed along with his pals in the artist field and have them grouped together in one album within Willie's albums section. 19 songs group within one album in the Willie Nelson section and the other 3 are placed separately either in the compilation section or as separate albums within the regular artists grid view.
I've read most if not all postings that suggest solutions but no matter what... they don't work. The only way that I know to work is to strip out all other names and leave only "Willie Nelson" in the Artist field. All other sorting and grouping options don't work for this issue... I've tied every combination. My opinion is that this is just a limitation at this time and there is no solution until future updates. I don't want a cheezy work-around either, that's very "unApple like". I assume it to be fixed in future updates.

There's a few other "goodies" I have found also but haven't had time to check out.
If you have songs not in iTunes that you want to add to iTunes in a different format than the song is in...
(This is carried over from at least 7.4)
Set the Importing prefs to what you want the new file to be.
Hold the Option key and go to menu Advanced and select *Convert selection to* AAC (or whatever is in the Import prefs}.
This will add it to iTunes in the new format.
Previously, you had to Import the file, change the prefs, go to Advanced - *Convert selection to*, convert the file, then delete the original from iTunes.
This is new...
In iTunes 8, go to to File - > *Show duplicates*. (moved from View menu).
Now hold Option and go to to File and it now displays *Show exact duplicates*.
Don't know what it means by *exact duplicate* though.

Custom package layout problem when there are more than 6 pages

When I add a seventh page to a custom package layout for printing whatever changes that are made to that page take affect on page 1 not on page 7, i.e. if a I rotate a cell on page 7 the affect is not seen on page 7 but it is on page 1 which messes up the layout on page 1, and if I add an eighth page any changes made to it are seen on page 2 and so forth. How do I prevent this so changes made to pages after page 6 are independent of the earlier pages?

There are a number of Bugs in Firefox that can cause that to happen. A few of those Bugs have been fixed for Firefox 4.0, but the developers decided not to "backport" those fixes to 3.6.x or 3.5.x for some reason.

I guess you can try the following options
Remove the all the entry from the TOC of your project or create a new blank TOC and select that while AIR file generation
Remove the all the entry from the index of your project or create a new blank index and select that while AIR file generation
Remove the all the entry from the glossary of your project or create a new blank glossary file and select that while AIR file generation
THis will ensure that TOC/Index/Glossary page is not shown,
There is no way to hide Favorite or RSS from the AIR Help. Again, you can try looking at the Unipane Template provided in the AIR SSL Dialog.

Screen Elements
These are the various objects that can be placed on the screen and help in proper functioning of the screen. Following is the list of screen elements
u2022         Text field
A field which is output only, used for displaying hard coded static text on the screen. This cannot be modified during run time. If the text contains several words, they should be separated
u2022         Input/Output field
A field used by the user for data-entry. This is also called a template. Use underscore characters in the text field to define its size. The maximum length can be 255 characters.
u2022         Dropdown list box
It is a special type of input/output field. It contains a list of entries from which the user can choose one. You cannot type an entry into the text field of this box.
u2022         Check Boxes
Field to allow the user to choose multiples from a logical group of values.
u2022         Radio button
Element provided to group logically related values. The user can select only one out of the group; the other elements automatically get disabled.
u2022         Push button
Element used to trigger a particular function. The function code associated is transferred to the flow logic when the push button is pressed.
u2022         Box
Display element that is used to improve the cosmetics of a screen. Related parts of the screen can be grouped by enclosing them in a box
u2022         Subscreen
Rectangular area of a screen used to display other screens at run time. This element cannot include any other elements
u2022         Table controls/Step Loops
Complex graphical elements to allow tabular display of data.
u2022         Tabstrip control
Element that gives a card file like look u2013 every card is a screen that can be used for different purpose

Important field that is used for transferring the function code from the dynpro to the flow logic
Screen Fields
All the attributes of a screen field are defined using SE51. A screen field can be given any name, but when the name corresponds to an existing dictionary object, all the attributes of the field are derived from the attributes of the dictionary object. These field attributes dictate the automatic checks that are done by SAP in a dynpro dialog (value range check, online help, list of values etc)
Screen Layout
This is the placement of the various graphical and non-graphical elements on the screen. A screen is designed in Screen Painter as per the specifications gathered from the user.
Define the ok code field in the field list for the Screens
Whenever user does any interaction with the screens, a field is required to trap the action that the user is trying to perform. To do this, define 4 character variable by the name v_okcode_screennumber.
Assign function codes to the various buttons on the screen that the user is likely to press.
These function codes are then transferred via the variable to the flow logic of the screen, to decide the path to be taken by the flow of the transaction

Group Issue

HI Gurus,
My client is following this scenario.It has make to Order scenario and so many subcontracting process is done by the client.
The scenario is like,multiple work Orders are sent to Subcontract Vendor through single Group Issue.
For Example: 5 different work orders have the same processing work and has to be carried out by SC vendor X.
What they are doing, they donot issue the materials to the same SC vendor 5 times instead they make a group of the work Orders and issue the materials to SC at a time.
How can we map this into SAP????????

In MB1B , you can club all the PO's & issue the Goods to the SC vendor.
Goto MB1B, enter movemnt type 541, Click on To Purchase order & enter the PO & item details. Now adopt the details & issue the Goods to SC vendor.

Unable to choose single packages from group ?

Hey ! Previously when I used "pacman -S kde", I was able to answer "no" to question like "Do you want to install all packages from group <kde>", then I could choose "yes/no" for every single package. Now it has changed. After typing "pacman -S kde" there's only question "Continue installation?" and if i press "no" pacman terminates installation ! So if I dont want to install everthing what should I do ?

Customizing Picture Package Layouts

Is there a way to customize Picture Package Layouts in PSE 10? I have one image that I want to print 1in x 1in and completely fill a letter size sheet with that same image. Or, is there a way to tell PSE 10 to print out the one image 56 (or however many) times on the page and it would size it automatically? Either would work. Thanks!

I'm facing the following issue in ITS Mobile service. where the white spaces between the form elements are not reduced though ~DYNPRO_COMPRESSION is set to 1.
The solution i nthe following thread SAP ITS Mobile - Layout Styling Issue works fine for custom programs, but my internet service makes use of standard programs , so it is not advisable to edit the standard programs. And also tried to constrict the gaps by using a custom css-stylesheet, but all the efforts in vain.

thanks for the reply, we are using Internet Explorer for opening the URL.
I have another issues like
1. getting the scanned EPC value in the cursor position on the screen if datawedge application running in background but as soon as the EPC value appears int he field, the screen turns to "Page not found error" ( though in screen sequence next screen available) in short the problem is after getting EPC value in cursor field, without waiting for user/system action the page goes out.
2. I want to write the EPC value on the RFID tag using the handheld but its not happening
3. does the RFID handheld returns any value when EPC written succesfully on the tag ( such as tag written successfully )

InDesign vs Illustrator for packaging layout

I will be working on a project that requires packaging graphics to be laid out on a corrugated box dieline. There are style guides about width of color bands and placement of copy from the edges of the folds, etc.
This would normally be done in Illustrator since it's easier to but due to an end-use issue, this has to be done in InDesign, not Illustrator.
Does anyone have experience with InDesign for this kind of stuff that may have workflow tips on how best to do the layouts except substituting InDesign for Illustrator?

Thanks for the reply. I've done that in the past, but when I get there tomorrow and see their workflow, I'll have a better grip on it.
I'm hoping to streamline the process, but I'm thinking that they need it assembled in InDesign since they have an end use using some Package Wizard program. Just trying to anticipate what I'll walk into.

Packaging Indesign Folio Issue

Hi,
I have been working on my articles from my desktop and have now 'Packaged' the articles to a server. However, now when I try to update any of the articles I get:
An error has occurred while updating article layouts.
The InDesign file for the layout cannot be found.
All the links in the Indesgn files are linked, so i can't see why DPS is not liking these files. I have looked at past threads about this and people are saying to update software - I can't do this due to the issue with Adobe Viewer in the new update.
Everything worked fine before I packaged the files, and they were updating as they should. What do i do to fix this?

If you can't update to a version which has the "relink" function, you may try to remove and add your articles one by one. Or, if you have proper folder structure and naming conventions – recreate the folio by deleting the old one, creating the new one and importing multiple articles at once. If you try first with adding a single article and it doesn't work, there is also possible that the new path to your files is not understood by DPS (special letters, etc.).

I have LiveCycle 8.0 and when I select multiple text field to group them the group menu item in the layout menu is grayed out. I've selected items by CTRL-click, lasso and no method works. Please help. Thanks, Roy

Print layout - Goods issue & Issue for Production

I designed two print layouts separately 1 in Goods issue for Goods issue in inventory module
and 1 in Issue for production for Issue for production in production module.
If i take a print preview or print in Issue for production , it will reflects the print layout designed in Goods issue.

I think, are you duplicate the Goods issue PLD Template to Issue for Production PLD Template on Duplicate Layout Template.
Best, Try to create a New PLD from Issue for Production(System) PLD.
