Packard bell easynote and itunes??????

New laptop new ipod video....load software then run and now as far as my computer is concerned it has no DVD/CD drive. I now cannot even restore to anearlier time to get it back to just normal............therefore I have spent £230 to have my computer made useless and since i cannot load any music on my computer the ipod is now useless too. Ipod ...looks cool....itunes rubbish!!

hi hirtag!
now as far as my computer is concerned it has no DVD/CD drive.
Can you do a couple of things for me?
(1) right-click "My Computer", select "Manage", click on "Device manager". expand the CD/DVD drive entry. do you see a warning message there? if so, post back to let us know what it says. (include any "code numbers" it might be referencing.)
(2) run your itunes "help > run CD diagnostics" and also paste the complete results into the the post.
(i think i know what is going on with this one, but i just want to doublecheck.)
love, b

  • [Packard Bell EasyNote MX61-B] Xorg crash: black screen or segfault

    Hi everyone,
I recently reinstalled Arch Linux after few months on Debian, and I remember I had a bug with Xorg. This bug appears known, but I can't find a solution or explication (maybe I don't search enough). Sometimes, I've a black screen for 5 seconds (approximately). I can do nothing and my computer doesn't respond. In my Xorg.0.log file, I've juste this line :
AIGLX: Suspending AIGLX clients for VT switch
It can happen one, two or three times in one minute, and it's very annoying. I can't reproduce that. I have no idea how, no idea of what is happening.
But sometimes, it's more critical: same symptoms, but my Xorg session is totaly ugly. It doesn't crash, but I did as squares, rectangles of all colors.. If I kill X (with pkill X or ctrl/alt/bksp) and restart it, same result. I have to reboot my computer. In my Xorg.0.log, I've a segfault.
    My log file and configuration:
    Packard Bell EasyNote MX61-B-050FR
    Video driver: xf86-video-ati
    10-evdev.conf : http://bpaste.net/show/118059/

    Xorg.0.log: http://bpaste.net/show/118058/
    lspci: http://bpaste.net/show/118913
Should I post a ticket on Xorg bugtracker ?
    Thank you.

    I've read this page http://projects.gnome.org/gdm/docs/2.14 … oting.html
I would like to do as they say, ie find the way gdm startx xorg but arch's gdm package doesn't contain the defaults.conf file where it should be indicated.
    Any idea ?
    Regards,
    Mikael

  • Problem with sound capture on a Packard Bell

Hello, recently I have acquired a Packard Bell EASYNOTE MX61-B-054PT notebook to replace my dead Asus. Everything is working quite well except for sound capture from the microphone.
There is a periodic noise that I can't get rid of (the noise I'm talking about isn't the normal background white noise). In the image you can see in the middle when I made some sound and to the left and to the right just silence (with the typical noise) and the samples that go to zero periodically.
I have tried adjusting buffer time and buffer size in asound.conf, I've tried adjusting the pci latency for the soundcard but nothing worked.
To make the the plugging and unplugging of headphones work properly I needed to add "options snd_hda_intel model=lenovo" to modprobe.conf although the same problem happens if I don't have any options.
Help please, I'd like to make this work properly so I can make calls.
Below is everything that might help anyone help me find out whats wrong.

Hi there  I understand that you are having trouble with the sound button on your notebook computer. I am happy to help with this. From looking though your other posts, I see that you have been having some other general sound issues. It may be that you need to install some of the other utility software from the support page for your notebook.  There are some utilitys/software that is for the configuation of some of the keyboard keys. HP Pavilion g7-1216sv Notebook PC You  can look at the ones from within the Software Solutions section, one of two of those may be of use.

  • Does airplay printers also work with packard bell laptop, ifso which to buy

My printer is due for upgrade (6-7yr old !), do airplay printers work with standard laptops also? (Packard bell easynote),
ifso which is the cheapest but good one to buy? (probly from Tesco or argos and suchlike lol)
I don't even know what airplay is apart from the fact they work with my iphone/ipad.
    THANKS

I didn't know Packard Bell was still in existence .
You have to check the specs on the printer you wish to buy.  But in general, if you can connect a cable to the printer, the printer should work with your laptop.  I do not know if windows supports Airprint.  See if the printer supports windows wifi print.
    To print from the ipad/iphone, you need an an Airprinter.     {{ Airplay is to do with video on your tv.  }}

  • Photoshop Elements 8 on Packard Bell Laptop

    Hi Everyone!
I have bought three years ago a Packard Bell laptop, and i already had Photoshop Elements 8 installed on it.
Now the laptop it is a bit old, and i'd like to install photoshop elements on my other device.
Can i simply use a product key recognizer software to get the product key, and then simply download and install pse. on the other device and use the old product key?
Or there is another way to get the key?
Sorry for my bad English, but i'am from Germany.
    Thank you for your time!

No, only a partial serial number will be found.
You should have received a disc with a serial number when you purchased the laptop.
If you registered with Adobe, you should be able to get the serial number if you sign in to your account.

  • Time machine vs Packard Bell carbon

My MacBook still runs on OS 10.5.8. As backup I use(d) Packard Bell Carbon (SNID 94602307273) that worked perfectly although some 4 to 5 yrs old. Since then, Carbon's disk runs, wiring OK, and Time Machine also runs and can be set to backup copy and be activated and stopped. But nothing is transferred and the historical list of items stops on december 20, 2014. I admid that it was only now that I rialised that it didn't work anymore. How to get going again?
    Thanks,

  • ITunes/Window 7 Creative XiFi Stuck in Stereo and ITunes Crashes

@ITunes/Window 7 Creative XiFi Stuck in Stereo and ITunes CrashesuI am about to return my Creative X-Fi USB card, cause it doesn't seem to handle anything other than 2 channel audio.
The Creative X-Fi driver only shows 2-channel audio in it's driver config, which leads me to beli've it can't do 5..
The first time I put ITunes into surround mode, I was installing the Creative software, it prompted to install. I said yes, and it crashed. A few reboots later... Now everytime I put ITunes into Surround mode in play back it crashes every time. I've uninstalled the driver and reinstalled to no avail. ITunes can't go into surround mode for HD video playback.
I am using the optical connection to my stereo,? the creative software doesn't seem to recognize it as a 5. device.
What am I missing here? 5. shouldn't be this hard to get working..
    thanks!

I have the same problem (I use IE 7 as my browser). I have had the same problem with all the versions 7.1 as well. There have been numerous posts about it and it seems that Apple does not want to fix this. I uninstalled it and reinstalled version 7.0x via

this version is once again working fine!

  • Can a Packard Bell Aspire M3802/M5802 support a nVidia GeForce GTX 750?

Hi. I have a  Packard Bell Aspire M3802/M5802. It has an Acer motherboard (G43T-AM), 8gb ram (ddr2, 800mHz), an Intel CPU (Q8300 quad core 2,5GHz @2,5GHz, don't remember the clock). So my question is: can this PC handle a nVidia GeForce GTX 750?

    Black_Bullet,
The GeForce GTX 750 uses PCI Express 3.0, the AM-3802 and AM-5802 both have PCI Express 2.0; but it should work since the PCI Express slots are backwards compatible. The only issue I can see would be that the BIOS would not support the card itself.
From what I can tell we only received one BIOS so I would reccomend you get a video card with legacy mode/switch or rom option. The MSI GTX-750 Ti has dual BIOS so you can do EFI/LEGACY, http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Computer-Corp-N750TI-2GD5/dp/B00I6DLIB8, if that helps.

  • Home Sharing is not working following update to iOS 5.1 and iTunes 10.6

    First, the problem:
I am not able to see any shared libraries  when using the Music and Video apps on my iPhone 4.
    Next, the specs:
iTunes 10.6 on MBP running Mac OS X 10.7.3
    iPhone 4 runinng iOS 5.1
Wi-Fi connections for both MBP and iPhone 4
Both connect to same network using same SSID with static IP addressing and UPnP enabled.
MBP connects using 5 GHz N-Only anntena.
iPhone 4 connects using 2.4 GHz NG-Mixed antenna. (Hopefully next iteration of iPhone supports 5 GHz.)
    Third, what I have tried:
Everything in "Troubleshooting Home Sharing" (KB Article TS2972 - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2972).
Re-entering my Apple ID credentials for both Music and Movies in iOS Settings.
Re-entering my Apple ID credentials for Home Sharing in iTunes.
Setting up Port Forwarding for both the iPhone 4 and MBP in my router for the relevant TCP and UDP ports (just in case). However, this did not help.
    Finally, what I have noticed:
My Remote app on the iPhone 4 works without issue and can control iTunes running on my MBP.
My Air Mouse app on the iPhone 4 works without issue and can control my MBP.
My wireless printer connected to the network via the 2.4 GHz antenna (it only supports 802.11g) is usable - I can print to it and access its embedded web server management tool.
So, in the end, Home Sharing no longer works on my iPhone 4 after updating both IOS and iTunes (all other apps and software updates are current for both the phone and the MBP). I believe I have ruled out any issues with which antenna is being used for which device. I am out of ideas on how to get Home Sharing to work again.
Any suggestions or possible solutions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you gurus in advance!

Spoke to a "senior advisor" in the Apple TV department.  Her suggestions:  change channel in router to minimize/eliminate wifi interference from other users; move router away from any metal - i.e., DVD player, phone modem, etc.; keep router away from wireless 2.4 gH phones, which are "notorious" for crashing wifi routers.  So she confirms that the problem is one of connection to router suddenly dropping out.
My own feeling is that none of these fixes will do the trick, because it seems pretty clear that there is a hardware component here - the timing of the drops seems like an overheating issue.  It takes 35-40 minutes for the box to warm up enough for the first drop; then each consecutive drop happens quicker than the one before, as it heats up more.  Each time it drops, its tiny brain gets a little more scrambled; last night it finally wouldn't start up again at all.
My suggestion is that everyone who is experiencing this problem, please call Apple tech support and ask to speak to a senior advisor in the Apple TV department.  Make them aware of this problem!

  • HELP! iPhone 3GS stuck in recovery loop and iTunes gives error message" iPod update server can not be contacted"

As I said, it's an iPhone 3GS (never jailbroken), iOS 4.1, PowerPC G4 OS X 10.4.11, iTunes 9.2. I have had the phone since new, never had any issues with it and am at my wits end trying to figure it out. I have seen many different solutions to this exact problem, but none have worked for me. Anyone have any ideas?

This is what I posted to someone else having an update issue... Just for your information:
I having the same issue about the and iTunes says "The iPhone cannot be  restored at this time because the iPhone software update server could  not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable.". I've had the  iPhone  3GS since it came out. It was working fine until I just tried to  update  it. It has NEVER been hacked or jailbroken. WE AND A FEW OTHERS are  having  the same issue then it is more than likely that this is an  update issue.  I took mine to the Apple store and the tech tried to  update it and he came to the same problem and told me he couldn't  update it. My assumption is that we are not the only one's with this  issue and that if  there was a way to update it to the update before  this last one it  might be a solution. I don't know how to get the  previous update. Apple  probably is aware of the problem, and hasn't  come up with a solution yet. Or, enough people haven't complained yet.  The tech suggested that  there might be something wrong with the phone  itself, but that couldn't  be since it was working perfectly before I  updated it and others are  having the same issue. It is highly unlikely  that a lot of people are having the same hardware issue all of a  sudden at the same time. Apple/iTunes needs to fix this... and hopefully soon
Also:  I can update or restore my iPhone 5 and other iPhones so it is not an  issue with my firewall or other software on my computer. No one touches  my iPhone or my computer they are secure, locked all the time, and I  have no jailbreak software on my computer (Apple tried it and they are  clueless at the moment from what I can tell).

  • New ipod seen in windows and itunes but not in sync diagnostics

I bought a second Ipod. Oldest one works fine. New one is seen in Windows and in ITunes. Diagnostics "finds" new Ipod, but on Sync diagnostics says "no Ipod found".
Ne Ipod looks like it's staring to sync, then just stops after 30 seconds and goes to "connected" screen.
Have done resets of Ipod and reboots of PC.
Driver shows no error in Device Manager.
Have tried three differenct cables and both USB ports on the pc.

I jus tried that. Computer acknowledged Ipod and Itunes performed restore. Afterward, same situation...no sync. Screenshots:

    60 gb video   Windows XP

    - I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
