It sounds like you might need to give your network a call and check that you actually have GPRS packet data enabled on your phone.

  • N70 Packet Data/Access Points?

I got my phone from a friend about a year ago. He had a Telstra sim card in it, but I had a Vodafone. So I put my sim card in, but the MMS wouldn't work. So I changed a few settings and managed to fix it.
However, my phone recently had it's memory wiped, including all the setting changes I made.
But now the MMS isn't working again!
I tried to change the packet data/access point stuff, but it doesn't come up with anything to do with Vodafone...only Telstra.
    Please help?

Hi, just go to your local nokia website. Settings can be ordered from the support section. Settings will be sent to you by sms.

  • There is no Data Loss!

Basically, any Pages file that has been modified and seemingly "overwritten" can be easily restored to its pre-5.0 state within Pages 5 by clicking File > Revert to > Browse All Versions and then selecting the previous version, clicking Restore and then closing Pages 5.0 without saving.  That allows you to open the file in Pages '09 and delete Pages 5.  Now everything is back to normal and you can continue using '09 until the feature set is restored.
I'm hoping people will continue to explore and verify this, but I've tried it myself and a few others have verified its validity.  I started a thread yesterday but it quickly got buried in the swathes of complaints.
    robogobo wrote:
Great!  Hopefully this means everyone can get back to their old files and continue working in '09 until the feature set is restored to 5.0.  Now we can all stop clamoring about Apple intentionally damaging users' work.  I was 1000% sure that wasn't the case.  After "Save As" was depricated, Autosave and Version History are part of a normal workflow (except for those who rejected the whole idea of auto save - but Apple didn't), which explains why files were not explicitly duplicated with the upgrade and no warning was issued.
Does this work for you, Peter?  If so I hope you can see the value of actually using the product before jumping on the bashing bandwagon.
    Karabuni wrote:
Seems to work - I've unplugged the external disk as well as turning off Time Machine. Old versions are there, and not only that, when the restored file is loaded into 5, it looks the same as it did in 4.3., whereas if just the latest one is opened, layout is, er, not right.
The "unrestored" file has layout errors, whereas, the "restored" one still looks OK when reopened, even after making a few changes. This might not be the case if a "removed" feature has been used, such as linked text boxes - they are there but not linked.
You will not be able to open this file in 4.3 if you make changes, as robogobo also said.
So, are the earlier versions inside the new one? Word docs have all sorts of old stuff inside if you open them in BBEdit, especially if the author has used an earlier letter to someone else as a template, and altered the text. Having looked at a 4.3 xml file there isn't any changed/deleted text or other obvious stored changes. So they must be somewhere else, I suppose.
The 5 files are zipped .iwa, and I haven't found anything that the system will allow to open them (unidentified developer).
    robogobo wrote:
Could someone please verify this?  Basically it would mean the transition from 4.3 to 5 is at least non destructive and we're dealing with a loss of features here but no data loss.

    Browse All Versions:
Now I hadn't tried this before, but it was on my todo list.  When I first noticed problems with files opened in Pages 5.0, I was simply restoring files from Time Machine in order to get back to the original version for 4.3, thinking it was necessary for version history.  But correct me if I'm wrong, Time Machine isn't necessary for browsing documents version history.  Is that right?  I just tested it and it seems to work with my Time Machine disk disconnected.  Can someone verify this?
I just opened an old 4.3 document in 5.0, made some changes, saved and closed it.  Then I tried to open it in 4.3 and of course it wouldnt open.  So I opened it again in 5.0, went to File > Revert to > Browse All Versions and it opened up the interface, which looks like Time Machine (I always assumed it was) but I think it's not.  Anyway, I went back to the old version, hit restore and then closed it without saving.  I can now open it again in 4.3 in its original state!
Did everyone already know this?  If it's true, then there isn't any permanent damage being done, and everything can be reverted to originals from within5.0.  I think this is great news.

    Jeff Shenk wrote:
If you upgraded directly from Snow Leopard to Mavericks, and never had Versions in Pages 4, can you still revert to the oldest version in Pges 5 and get a Pages 4 document?
The documents brough into Mavericks from Snow Leopard should still be considered the original versions before they're opened in Pages 5, so I think it would work.  Probably best to open them in 4.3 on Mavericks first though, to be safe.
At any rate, data loss is only a problem if you have opened the only copy of a document with a new, untried application, and in that case, you are acting as though it isn't a very important document, anyway.
    Couldn't agree more.

  • Data loss in original documents

Hi, we are running R/3 46C with DMS.
    Typical functionality is as follows:
Using the online vault (ftp server), we checkin and out the originals from the DMS. We use MS Word/Excel as workstation applications to create/update the originals. e.g. the original is checked-out and opens as a MS Word document within the SAPGUI (Inplace DM configuration). A temporary copy is created on local workstation. Employee then updates the original and does a 'save and exit'. This checks the original back into the vault, deletes the local copy from workstation and exits the transaction.
    The issue is as follows:
Person A opens the original, updates it and saves and exits. Person B (or the same person A) opens the same original document within couple of seconds or so after person A has saved and exited. In this case, person B doesnot see the updated content. So person B has no clue that the content was updated. If person B updates the content and saves it,
the content updated by person A is lost. There seems to be a performance issue resulting in potential data loss. The trace files for sapftp indicate good performance without any timeouts etc. between the workstation and the online vault (ftp server).
Not able to nail the cause. Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Nirmal

    Hi Iring,
I appreciate your suggestion. I think I understand it, however, in my case, the issue is after the original is checked into the vault. Once a user has updated the original and checked it into the vault (using 'save and exit' button), the transaction ends successfully, with a message "Document Info record <doc typ> <doc number> changed". This gives an impression that the original has been checked-in and the contents have been saved. If I open the same original within couple of seconds of the first save, the original does show as checked-in. However, intermittently, I would not see the content that was changed as part of the first save.
The ftp log shows no errors and indicates good performance.

  • "Subscribe to Packet Data First" (Bit of feedback)

I recently bought a Nokia 6021, which offers Bluetooth connectivity and E-mail function (send and retrieve). I got some setup advice Forum members.
Bluetooth was easy to set up, and I now use the phone in the car with a handsfree unit, which clips on the sun visor.
    Very satisfactory.
E-mail was (much) more difficult to set up.
I kept getting an error: "Subscribe to Packet Data First".
It turned out that the fundamental problem lay in the fact that Vodafone Support had incorrectly given me the settings for a "Contract SIM card" when in fact I operate mine as a "Pay-As-You-Talk SIM card".
Specifically they got me to insert "Internet" as one of the Bearer Settings parameters - when it should actually be "pp.vodafone.co.uk". "pp" indicates PrePaid.
So watch that point, all you PAYT Users!
It wasn't a 6021 problem ... it was a question of identifying the right kind of SIM card.
Incidentally, when the 6021 retrieves e-mails, if the message is too big (I think above 100k), it fetches the message header, with sender's ID, etc., so that you can identify who has e-mailed you even if you can't read their message/file. Suits me perfectly.
Thanks for the advice I got from Forum members.
    Best regards - Charles

  • Data Loss in DB to DB Transformation in ODI

    Hi,
I am facing data loss when I am trying a transformation for a DB to DB mapping in ODI.
I have two tables in two different schemas with the following specifications. In ODI designer model of i have put the type of place as number in target and place as varchar2 for source and accordingly done the mapping. It works successfully when i am putting the data as ('12', 'ani', '12000', '55').
Now for testing I am giving the datas as ('1', 'ani', '12000', '55') and ('2', 'priya', '15000', '65t') and when I am executing it is giving the error as expected(ORA-01722: invalid number) in the task (Insert flow into I$ table). My C$ table is populated with the datas from source. But E$,I$ and target tables are not populated with the data.
Now when I am puttting data in source as ('3', 'shubham', '12000', '56') and ('4', 'shan', '12000', '59') it is getting completed successfully , datas from C$ tables are deleted and data is inserted into the target table.
Now my question is where are the datas ('1', 'ani', '12000', '55') and ('2', 'priya', '15000', '65t') gone. If they are lost what is the recoverable table so that no data loss takes place.
The codes for source and target tables are as follows:
    source table code:
    CREATE TABLE "DEF"."SOURCE_TEST"
        "EMP_ID"   NUMBER(9,0),
        "EMP_NAME" VARCHAR2(20 BYTE),
        "SAL"      NUMBER(9,0),
        "PLACE"    VARCHAR2(10 BYTE),
        PRIMARY KEY ("EMP_ID") USING INDEX PCTFREE 10 INITRANS 2 MAXTRANS 255 STORAGE(INITIAL 65536 NEXT 1048576 MINEXTENTS 1 MAXEXTENTS 2147483645 PCTINCREASE 0 FREELISTS 1 FREELIST GROUPS 1 BUFFER_POOL DEFAULT FLASH_CACHE DEFAULT CELL_FLASH_CACHE DEFAULT) TABLESPACE "USERS" ENABLE
    inserted data:
    INSERT INTO "DEF"."SOURCE_TEST" (EMP_ID, EMP_NAME, SAL, PLACE) VALUES ('1', 'ani', '12000', '55')
    INSERT INTO "DEF"."SOURCE_TEST" (EMP_ID, EMP_NAME, SAL, PLACE) VALUES ('2', 'priya', '15000', '65t')
    Target table code:
    CREATE TABLE "ABC"."TARGET_TEST"
        "EMP_ID"     NUMBER(9,0),
        "EMP_NAME"   VARCHAR2(20 BYTE),
        "YEARLY_SAL" NUMBER(9,0),
        "BONUS"      NUMBER(9,0),
        "PLACE"      NUMBER(9,0),
        PRIMARY KEY ("EMP_ID") USING INDEX PCTFREE 10 INITRANS 2 MAXTRANS 255 STORAGE(INITIAL 65536 NEXT 1048576 MINEXTENTS 1 MAXEXTENTS 2147483645 PCTINCREASE 0 FREELISTS 1 FREELIST GROUPS 1 BUFFER_POOL DEFAULT FLASH_CACHE DEFAULT CELL_FLASH_CACHE DEFAULT) TABLESPACE "USERS" ENABLE
    Thanks.

So, first you have data in "DEF"."SOURCE_TEST".
You then run your interface, and the data is moved into "ABC"."TARGET_TEST" if the interface executes successfully with no errors.
    Correct? - no data loss
But if you're saying that you need to handle records which are going to cause the "invalid number" error, then you should read up on 'flow' and 'static' control and how to flag errors before loading them. Flow and Static Control allows ODI to identify erroneous records prior to loading - they'll be put in the E$ table for you to deal with later.
If you haven't already, I'd encourage you to take a look at the documentation on this:

  • When export mode is full and userid is system, data loss happens.

    Hi!
I'm running Oracle 7.3.4 On HP-UX. I have problem when I try to export full my DB.

I export full my DB through user="SYSTEM" and the result of log is
. about to export WEBDB's tables via Conventional Path ...
    . . exporting table IMSI
    EXP-00008: ORACLE error 604 encountered
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
    ORA-08103: object no longer exists
. . exporting table TEMP 331 rows exported
The num of TEMP's row is 334 rows. I created "IMSI" table 2~3 days ago.
What a terrible row & table loss!
Please, what do I do? I need to do export full and no data loss...

If its anything like exporting in Rel 2, you will have to export using SYS, not another user.
    Hope that helps ;)

  • Safest Way to Penetration Test an Oracle DB with Potential Data Loss

    Hi,
I was wondering what the safest way to protect Oracle from data loss when running a web application scan. We currently have an external company about to perform a web application scan and they warned us of potential data loss. However, we can't afford much downtime and our storage doesn't support things such as Copy on Write. What would you recommend? Do you think that something like putting the database in read-only mode for the duration of the test (2 hours) and enabling audit on all actions would be sufficient (we could then review the audit to see if any unauthorized calls were made)? Thanks.

If not running live you might consider restoring your database to before the test. But you need to have confidence this would work.
I assume your running live for the duration of the test.
Going read only might invalid the test, and your application might not be able to run read only without generating errors.
Examine and be aware of the flashback technologies available to you at your database version and which ones might be useful. In this context increase undo space/retention target might be helpful but dont dash off doing something at last minute.
Ensure you have checked out how to use logminer.
Consider not continously updating and standby database you have until test is complete.
Ensure your more recent backup is successful and you have checked your restore procedures and have contingency places in place.
In practice the web peneration test may attempt to change a small amount of data in a small number of records, but the agreement probably means they are not liabable if they dropped schema in the database!
If you have to correct data following their test then do so carefully. Doing the wrong thing (especially in a panic) can make a sitation worse, especially if you are doing something you are not familiar with. Often it may be better the data loss through the application itself.
If you do turn on auditing be aware of what it gives you before you turn in on, and beware any space implications.
I notice your are recently registered on the site ... this may mean you dont have much experience with oracle, you may be more of a system administrator for instance. No disrespect in that whatsoever. However especially if this is the case then remember in my opinion dashing to change something last minute statisically often does more harm than good overall and may be harder to undo.
    Hope this helps.

  • Data loss when reading v7 hashes with db 4.7.25

On a v7 hash created with db_load from db 3.2.9, db_dump from 4.7.25 will corrupt the database file unless either -r or -R are specified. With a v8 btree, 4.7's db_dump -p will output correctly but a db_dump -d a will not. In either case, dumping the v8 btree does not appear to lead to data loss.
4.7's db_verify on the v7 hash gives an error about an impossible max_buckets setting in the metadata page. It seems to do this because it clobbers the last_pgno setting
and compares 1, for instance, against 0 instead of 2.

  • Gmail over IMAP: data loss?

I keep running over my Web host's quotas with my email, so I thought I'd give Gmail-over-IMAP a shot despite my distaste for Gmail's main Web interface.
In Mail.app I selected all 2100 messages in my Inbox and copied them over to Gmail. The operation completed without reported errors, but only 1300 messages made it over! Disturbed, I re-imported the original Inbox from a backup and copied it up to Gmail again, this time as a separate mailbox (label). Again, 1300 messages. As a control, I then copied that same re-imported mailbox up to my original account, and a few minutes later all 2100 messages were visible on the server. So it's not Mail.app.
Two bad things seem to be going on here. The first, and less severe, is that Gmail is running filters on these copied/moved messages as though they were new incoming mail - so some got flagged as spam or moved to other folders. While not a data loss issue, it's still annoying and not what one would expect.
The second is just pure data loss. Even after tallying all the filtered mail I came up about 500 messages short.
I'd love to think I'm missing something obvious here and there's a way around (since the extra, free storage would be lovely and even a mediocre AJAX UI is better than SquirrelMail), but clearly I can't trust a service that predictably loses messages.
    Any thoughts?

Well, I don't know how, but after removing all the accounts on my Pre (manually), manually backing up what remained to my Synergy/Palm Profile account, running WebOS Doctor once more and then re-adding all my accounts manually, Gmail is working again.  I can't say exactly what fixed it, but man, what a pain!
Oh, and on a side note - nice going with the 2010 EAS (Exchange) calendar FAIL, Palm.  I really appreciate that "little" bug too. *Rant off*
