Packing in Outbound Shipments

Hi,
I have to pack the materials belongs to deliveries in its existing shipment.
The packing is done in a NO SAP system, and I have to pack all items in the same way into my SAP outbound shipment via interface.
By the moment, I'm able to insert the packaging (Handling Unit) in the shipment, but the pieces are duplicated. I think I have to assign this HU to the existing delivery in the shipment in order to substract the pieces from the loose ones.
Somebody can help me?
The functions I'm using are:
1 HU_INITIALIZE_PACKING
2 HU_CREATE_ONE_HU
3 HU_POST
Thanks,
Antonio.

I'd suggest having a look at consultancy OSS note 581282, which talks about packing HUs into deliveries.

  • Outbound Shipments & Decentralised WM

I am after a bit of guidance, scenario as follows:
We create deliveries in ERP and those are sent to IDW fine. We create Outbound Shipments in ERP too. The deliveries get processed in IDW and Goods Issued. The posting happens in ERP and the Billing then takes place too. Outbound Shipments are used for grouping deliveries in ERP at present, and I want these Outbound Shipments to be used in WM for processing too.
I want the Header of the Shipment to be created in ERP, no deliveries assigned there yet. I want to Outbound Shipment Header without deliveries to be sent to IDW via ALE. This will ensure that they use the number ranges in ERP and there are no issues when posting back from IDW. I want to perform the assignment of deliveries to the Outbound Shipment in IDW. After I have processed & Goods Issued all the deliveries in that Outbound Shipment in IDW, I want this assignment to be transferred back to ERP. There Driver Reconciliation & Billing will happen, in ERP that is.
I have seen all the config that talks about Transportation Planning with External systems, but am not sure if my scenario fits into these business processes & config. I want to use SAP standard before we do any custom stuff. There must be a way that this can be done using Standard SAP.
Please can you let me know if any of you out there have any idea?

  • Error after HU packing in Outbound Delivery

    Hello All,
I unpack existing Handling Unit (HU) in an outbound delivery in VL02n transaction and pack part of its quantity in new HU that I create on same screen. Now, while saving this delivery I get this error "Movement type 990 does not allow immediate confirmation". Even when I delete existing HU nd pack all its content in new one I get the same message while saving the delivery.
Surprisingly for the same packing material and packed material in another outbound delivery I can do this operation without any error message.
What can be the possible reason for this. Please help me out.
    Thanks,

  • Packing in Outbound Delivery

    Hello All,
Please I need urgent help for this error am getting.
I created a sales order at the point of doing packing with reference to an existing handling unit, the system says
"No material to be packed found, or quantity to be packed equals zero
    Message no. VHUPD026
I have searched through the forum and there are no answers that solve this problem. All my configurations are okay because I have checked all solutions provided in previous postings in the forum.
    Thank You.

    Hi,
Assuming that all relevant customizing is completed, Check the Material Master
    Basic Data 1 view
    "Matl Grp Pack Materials"  field
" Reference material for packing" field
If values are not assigned, then you need to maintain the reference packing material ( Use VERP to create a material)
    Hope this helps.

    Sharan

  • Packing handling units to outbound delivery with batch management

    Hello all,
I am packing an outbound delivery with a material that has batch management active. The packing is from a storage location that manages handling units (HU-managed sloc).
My problem is u2013 before entering the HUs to the delivery u2013 the system asks me to enter the batches (in the batch split function). Only then I am allowed to enter the HUs in the packing function.
What could be the reason for this preliminary batch entries ?
How can I set the system not to do that, i.e., I would like to be able to enter the HUs directly without entering the batchs separately.
    Thanks,
    Isaac

    Dear Isaac,
this system behaviour can not be changed in standard and is also not recommended to change it via a modification. The reason for this system behaviour is to avoid inconsistencies in the system. The HU that you assign to the delivery, should exactly fit to the delivery. In case if the material is batch managed, you should specify the batch first, and then add the fitting HU with exactly that batch.
I suppose you checked the longtext for HUDIALOG102, that you get in the described case, but I copy it for you, in case if you did not read it:
    "Diagnosis
There are items to be handled in batches which have not yet been
    assigned to a batch.
Batches must be recognized for items with HU-managed storage location
For items at a storage location that is not HU-managed, the item type
determines if packing will take place at cumulated item quantity level
(meaning that the batch is not recognized at any point in the handling
unit) or if packing must take place at batch level.
    System Response
If an item requires batch identification, that item will not be
suggested for packing as long as the batch is not recognized.
    Procedure
Go to the maintenance of the delivery item and assign at least one batch
    to the item."

  • SAP inbound and outbound delivey in single shipment document

    Hi
We are doing outbound and inbound delivery creation in SAP. These are dropped to OTM(oracle transport management system). OTM will create orders for deliveries and groups multiple deliveries into one shipment. This is sent back to SAP for shipment creation. Problem we have is SAP can have either inbound deliveries Or outbound deliveires in a shipment. Based on inbound shipment or outbound shipment in shipment document type. OTM does not has this restriction and can bundle both outbound and inound in single shipment.
Business scenario we have is multi pick and multi drop, where there is possibility that 1) inbound del from vendor for PO            2) Outbound del to customer for SO and 3) outbound/inbound del for STO from RDC to DC in a single sipment.
Please advice ow this can be achieved in SAP.
    Best Regards

It is not possible to involve both inbound and outbound deliveries in the same shipment. SAP has its deficiencies...

You cannot place outbound deliveries and inbound deliveries together in the same shipment document. Nor is it possible to assign Items from a delivery or an inbound delivery to different shipment documents. You must decide at the delivery stage whether order items can be shipped together in one delivery and therefore require only one shipment.

  • Handling Unit packing into shipment

    Hi experts,
At our client, we are developing a new packing function similar to HUPAST, but which is capable of packing at the shipment level.
Our requirement is that, packing will be done directly at the shipment level. Products are NOT packed into deliveries first. For this, we made packing not mandatory in the configuration which allows us to pack directly at the shipment without packing at the delivery. We tried using VT02N and pack the materials of different deliveries into different HUs. But this VT02N screen is not user-friendly (scanner friendly) and we want to develop something similar to HUPAST, but at the shipment level.
Is there a FM which will create HU and associate it with the shipment? BAPI_HU_CREATE will create HU, but can we link that to shipment using BAPI_HU_CHANGE_HEADER or is there any FM for this
    Please help me
    Thanks
    Challa

    Hi,
I hope you can use below FM's for packing.
    BAPI_HU_CREATE
    HU_PACKING_AND_UNPACKING
    HU_GET_HUS
    HU_POST
    WS_DELIVERY_UPDATE
    Hope this helps you....

Did you solve your problem? Or did you found a work-a-round?
When looking through the SDN I´m still not sure if HU_PACKING_AND_UNPACKING can be used with shipment HU or not.

  • Handling unit management - pack delivery items in mass

    Dear All,
I'd like to ask for your help whether there's any mass transaction in standard system that is designed to pack several deliveries at once (like mass WM picking in VL06P).
    - Automatic packing and generation of packaging items is set but first we do WM picking (batch is determined at this time), so packing of delivery items and generation of delivery items of packaging materials comes only after this
    - we do not want to use shipping and do packing trough shipment
Does anyone know whether it is possible (if yes how)?
    Thanks,
    Csaba

Hi Group! I have the same requirement? Do you know if it is possible to pack several outbound deliveries in one packaging unit (container) without using shipment?
    thanks in advance!!

  • Update shipment

    hi experts,
Can you please tell me how to add new items in a shipment?  is there any bapi for that?
    thanks,
    vitish

    hi,
You can create deliveries within a shipment, using the Create Outbound Delivery transaction (VL01N) and you can change deliveries that are already packed in a shipment, using the Change Outbound Delivery transaction (VL02N).
After you change a delivery in a shipment, the unassigned delivery tree is refreshed for the processed delivery, so that all updates and any new items are reflected in the tree.
You can change delivery items that are packed in containers in a shipment. Since transaction VL02N is used for that, you can add new items to the delivery at the same time. It is recognized that these items will be added to the shipment without being packed into a container. RLM Packing does not handle such items. On return to the packing program, the items will be displayed in the hierarchy, but cannot be moved. To pack the items in a container, you must call the Shipment Change transaction, using the functions described below.
    Changing shipments
RLM Packing allows you to call the standard Sales and Distribution (SD) Shipment Create transaction (see the path below), or change transaction (see below).
When control returns from the shipment change transaction, the RLM Packing hierarchy will be refreshed in the area of the shipment affected.
    Process Flow
To create a delivery, you create it in: Logistics à Sales and Distribution à Shipping and Transportation à Outbound Delivery à Create à Single Document à With Reference to Sales Order. The Create Outbound Delivery with Order Reference screen is used to do that.
To change a delivery, you use: Logistics à Sales and Distribution à Shipping and Transportation à Outbound Delivery à Change à Single Document. On the subsequent screen, you can enter the ID of the out-bound delivery.
    regards,
    Siddharth
