Pacman on iPhone?

Is there are way to install the original arcade pacman on iphone? Is there one made for iPhone?

thanks-- is there any downloadable application to help roll over all day or timed events to the next day?
seems like the search and lack of rollover are big holes in the user friendliness-- Treo has a great search (through all files) and USED to have rollover, but still, can be added with 3rd party

    Yes
    8. apart from crippled bluetooth and a lack of mms, are there any big downsides to the iphone?
Play with one and decide for yourself. Personally, I don't care about bluetooth or MMS but if those are big deals to you, the iPhone is not the phone for you.
    9. if i set up my gmail on the phone, does it check automatically every (x) minutes, or do i need to manually check to see if i have new mail?
    That's your option.
    10. whats the average battery life of a 3g iphone in real everyday use?
It depends on how you use it.
    11. can i set my own mp3s as ringtones?
If you use the search box in the upper right, you can find lots of threads on how to create your own ringtones.
    12. does it support video ringtones?
    No
    13. can you get msn messenger on it? and does it keep you signed in even when youre not using it?
Look in the app store. If you're not using it, it shuts down.
    14. do you HAVE to use itunes to get music onto the iphone? is there an alternative?
    You have to use iTunes.
    16. can you just move stuff (like photos, videos) to and/or from the iphone like you would do with a usb memory stick drive, or do you have to use the program?
You have to use iTunes and whatever photo software you have. It does not have a disk mode.

  • [SOLVED] Network Manager with iPhone 3G S

OK, so work got me a shiny new iPhone 3G S today. When I'm being paid to play with it, I'll give it a shot
Anyway, I've successfully paired the iPhone over bluetooth with Arch on my laptop, which creates the bnep0 network interface. If I run dhcpcd on this interface, the iPhone gives me a DHCP lease in the 192.168.20.x subnet, and after configuring the opendns nameservers, I'm successfully tethered to the iPhone with full network connectivity
Is there a way I can get Network Manager to do the 'dhcp' and 'nameserver' parts for me? In the nm-applet GUI, there's no option for specifying interfaces or anything just "wired" (eth0) and "wireless" (wlan0) as well as the VPN, 3G etc tabs.
Also (I know someone wants to mention this), I am already aware that bluetooth is going to be speed limiting, but this connection will generally only be used for SSH sessions back to the office, so I don't really care about that. I'm happy to use bluetooth to reduce the number of cables required - already have external mouse, external hard drive, power supply and serial cable when I'm at a client site, I don't really want a USB cable to the iPhone as well. Unless Network Manager can't do this over bluetooth, but it can over USB, then I'll concede on the extra cable.

Here's instructions for Ubuntu, I doubt there will be many discrepancies between Ubuntu and Arch though. Just translate the apt-get crap with the appropriate yaourt or pacman command.
    http://undulynoted.net/2009/06/tether-i … -required/
    Ubuntu:
Why oh why does apple hardware suck so hard with linux. You will get constant disconnects if your phone is more than a few feet away from the computer. But alas, it is still faster than pdanet or iphonemodem2.
If you are not on a mac congratulations, you have had fewer headaches.
    Open the terminal and type:
    sudo apt-get install blueman bluez-compat
This will remove wcid which hopefully isn't a problem for most of you.
It will ask you to restart, please do.
Once Ubuntu is back up click on your bluetooth icon in the upper right (which is now managed by blueman)
IMPORTANT: Right click on the bluetooth icon and choose local services. Make sure to click the radio box that says "Network manager" instead of "blueman" under the network pane. This will allow Network Manager to take over the controlling of your connection (which is good). REBOOT AFTER THIS STEP!
Go to the bluetooth settings in your iphone (Settings > General > Bluetooth) and make sure they are on.
Hit the search button in blueman and you should see your iphone after a few seconds.
WARNING: This is where it gets flaky on the macbook pro. Best results I have has is to highlight the phone in blueman and hit "Bond"
Choose to auto generate a pass on the next option. Next. Now wait for the iPhone to ask you to type in the passphrase. Type in the 4 digit one that blueman gives you. VERY IMPORTANT. While they are joining eachother keep you eye on the computer. It will ask you if you always want to trust the iPhone (device name). Hit Always or else you will have trouble.
Always initiate the connection from the iPhone. In the bluetooth settings on the iphone you will now see your computer name listed and the words "not conencted" next to it. Click it. Wait a few and it will hopefully say connected. Look back to blueman and you will now see status bars on the iphone. Right click on your iphone in blueman. Choose "Setup". Network access point is click by default so just hit "Next".
Now head over to Network Manager and you should see "Auto benp0″. Click it to connect and give it a few to generate an IP. DONE enjoy surfing the internet through your data plan without jailbreaking. I have noticed quite a few speed gains over pdanet. Also, i noticed I got better results when i used openDNS's servers (208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222).
If you have done everything correctly and Network Manager won't take over the connection of you can see it and it says "not managed" or something of the sort you need to check out the following:
Open terminal and type: sudo gedit /etc/network/interfaces
see if you have bnep0 located there. if you do, comment out or delete that line. and reboot your machine.

  • Expected Quartz performance on iPhone

I'm writing a relatively simple 2D game and started out on Quartz. Everything was running fine, in terms of speed, in the emulator, but I just tried it for the first time on my iPhone and it was extremely slow. I can only get about 2 fps on the iPhone where I was getting close to 60 fps on the emulator. My question is, what sort of performance should I expect from the iPhone?
To give an idea of what I'm doing: I'm currently drawing about 100 small ellipses and about 20 short lines. Some of these elements do have transparency via their alpha component. Right now I'm not doing anything clever with the rectangle in drawRect, which means I drawing everything every frame.
I tried reducing things to increase the speed, but I had to lowing it to less than 5 ellipses before things got significantly better.
Is what I'm seeing normal? Should I give up on Quartz and go with OpenGL?

My question is, is it possible to do a 2D action game in Quartz, or should I just go straight to OpenGL? I don't want to spend a lot of time making Quartz specific optimizations if its futile in the end.
For example a classic game like Pacman...should that be possible in Quartz?

  • New Arch Schwag offerings: Iphone/Ipad cases and ornaments

    Hey all,
Zazzle has given me a few new products to slap the Arch Linux logo on. I find it hard to believe an Arch user would also be an iphone user, but Dan McGee, pacman hacker extraordinaire begs to differ. So, if you've installed Arch on your iphone and your ipad, and your Christmas Tree, have a look at these guys:

    Dusty,
I purchased an iphone 4 case, but the quality of the screening to the case isn't that great. The image if off center to the left & fuzzy. I'm not sure if the fuzziness is caused by the textured fabric on the back of the case or the image being over scaled. Either way, i'm returning it. I'm hoping the next one will be better.
I'm not sure if you have a choice of the cases back fabric/texture and/or choosing the sizing of the image on the case. I suggest you look into it. I'll take a photo so you can see what I mean.

  • IPhone tethering - ipheth not working

    Please help, I have:
    - an iphone 4 (frimware 4.1)
    - libimobiledevice (1.03)
    - usbmuxd (last one)
    - ipheth (I also tried ipheth-git)
    - ideviceinstaller
    ifconfig -a shows: cipsec0, l0, eth0, vboxnet0, wlan0 ... nothing for the iphone
My phone is connected and recognized, I can browse it with pcmanfm, I can look at the installed applications using ideviceinstaller, but I CANNOT tether...
ipheth is registered (I put it in rc.conf) but it does not say anything when I plug the phone with tethering activated!
the only line in dmesg is:
usb 2-6: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4
    nothing about ipheth
It used to work like a charm on ubuntu...
    Any idea?

MyWi works fine over Wifi LOL. But in USB it doesn't work. I really think this is a Networkmanager problem, but as I said before downgrading did nothing for me. I'm posting the list of files that were updated when it stoped working, hopefully someone upgraded the same thing (besides networkmanager, nm-applet) and we can get somewhere from there

  • IPhone 5S Voice Memos

    Hi everyone,
I have a problem with the voice memos.
I am using an iPhone 5S -> iOS7, back up from iPhone 4S (the voice memos were recorded in iPhone 4S).
Previously, my iPhone 4S had the same problem too.
The voice memos can't be found in the iPhone VoiceMemo app, but it can be seen from iTunes > On this iPhone > Voice Memos playlist.
The memos are greyed out in iTunes, but can be played.
Also, the checkbox in iTunes > Music > Include Voice Memos is unchecked.
Someone please teach me how to remove all the voice memos in my iPhone 5S and also from the iTunes.
    Thanks.

and also why do my voice memos show up in my music - only in itunes not on iphone

  • Is there a way of getting a "schedule view" in iCal on a mac and on iPad in the same way you can get one on iPhone?

IS there a way to get a schedule view of events on a busy day in iCal on the iPad 2 Air and on the Macbook Pro?  I can get this view on an iPhone.

I am paranoid that some untrusted technician is going to make a copy of my music (11,000 tracks) or share some of my personal information (scanned copies of my birth certificate, passport, certificates, photos, etc.) on the web.
If you put your info into the computer and hand it to another, you have to assume they will copy everything.
Why are you putting scanned copies of valuable identity information into a computer than can be hacked, stolen, lost or compromised by a dirty tech?
    Have you lost your mind?
Is there a way of finding out what activity has taken place whilst they've had it in their possession?
No. The tech would just deny it if he did, or tell the truth which the answer would be "NO" in either case.
The employer won't ask that sort of questions without solid proof, less they make a enemy of the employee and/or risk being sued for defamation of character.
It's not like they bother to have a team of people watching over his shoulder that he doesn't stick a USB thumb drive of your data into his pocket to take home.
I am paranoid that some untrusted technician is going to make a copy of my music (11,000 tracks)
If it's iTunes music, it has your personal ID embedded into the song files. Most IT techs know this though.
I appreciate any advice you guys can offer.
Too late now, all you can do is not worry about it.
Take your personal info out of the machine and if you need it, burn cd/dvd copies, a few USB thumb drives, Iron Keys or self encrypting external storage drives with key and/or keypad.

  • How can I use one account on 2 Iphones?

    Hello,
I want to use same icloud account on 2 iphones. The problem is with contacts, each iphone use different contacts and if I sync both phones with same account contacts mixes and is added from phone 1 in phone 2 and vice versa.
It is an option to separate the contacts and get them to each phone separately?

If the person have 2 or many iPhones? Why does the person want to waste money?
One iPhone can do it all.
This is a very usual case if someone has a personal phone number and a business phone number. This is done for a number of reasons, including having a separate bill for the business number and so you can avoid taking calls on the business phone when you are technically "unavailable".
Besides the group idea, there is absolutely nothing wrong with having two separate iCloud accounts for one's personal and business use. Just as with the phone number, the email contacts, email account, calendar, etc. can all be kept separate.

  • IPhone 3G no longer recognized by iTunes

I don't know what happened. I haven't changed any settings on my pc. I updated my phone software to 4.0.2 last week with no apparent problems. I think I've charged on my pc since but can't remember for sure. Now when I hook to usb, it goes on and off. Like not the power, but it (the iphone) will connect and show charging and I get the windows message that the apple camera is connected and what do i want to do. then it blinks off, like shows my welcome screen, not charging. then a few seconds later it shows up again and shows to be charging. it goes through this over and over. And iTunes does not recognize the iphone, says an error occurred.
    Any thoughts or suggestions?

Perhaps a failing USB port (check with another device) or a failing iPhone docking cable. Could also be some debris in your docking port on the phone - have a look.

  • Cannot send email from an iPhone to a Outlook group.

    Hi,
My question is simple and I'd like an exactly same answer : Can iPhone users send emails from their iPhone's to one or more groups created in Outlook?
This is my situation: our organization is using iPhone to provide email, calendar, contact, task etc. to some of their employees. We are using Airwatch MDM Agent on user's iPhone because we have an Airwatch server in place. I have an user and she has an iPhone 5 and she has created some groups in Outlook but these groups are not reflected in her Contacts in the iPhone. I have update her phone with the latest update, although I was almost sure that this was not the issue, then I've found some interesting posts on internet saying that this was a known problem for the users with the previous iOS but I thought this might has been corrected with the iOS, apparently not.
Also I've tried ''the trick'' that is posted on several forums with the iCloud but neither so it's working. I am looking for a straight answer, if this works or not on iPhone's?
    Thanks,
    Sebastian.

There indeed ARE apps in the app store that will do what you want.  Just search and find the one that best fits your needs.
