Page 1 diappearing / reappearing

Anyone else having this problem?
Page #1 of my 250 page document keeps disappearing, then reappearing. When I click on the thumbnail for page #1, I see only a "grey background" screen. When I go to page# 2 and try to cursor backward, I get stopped...as if there is no page before it; yet the system recognizes that the current page is #2, even if it can't display a page #1.
The Save As PDF saves a single blank page instead of the document.
And then I close, reopen, fight with it, close, reopen...and lo and behold Page #1 is back where it should be and everything functions correctly.
Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   Pages 1.0.2

I was recently looking at someone elses document and we discovered that it was due to a Word Wrap which was on for an item which was sent to the master.
What is on your first page? Is it something which has Word Wrap on which is affecting the rest of your document (a text box or shape)
If there is a Page Break that is being shifted due to something on the screen (could also be just a line under some text) then it could cause the behavior you are having. A large document may make Pages behave strangely as there is a lot of shuffling going on (and Show Page Thumbnails will also tax your system as t tries to interpret each page on the fly)

  • How do I fix add-on welcome pages that keep reappearing?

This has been happening to me in version 32. The pages reappear every time I restart Firefox. I kill them, re-start the browser, and it happens again. Searching around the web for a fix, someone suggested restoring Firefox to its defaults. Did that, and it worked, but the problem eventually recurs, after I began customizing the browser again. I have the program set for fairly high security. I also have it set to reload my tabs from the previous session, but this gets changed to "show my homepage" without my action, and the welcome pages line up in tabs once again. Clearing history failed; checking for viruses proved negative.

    Hello,
I had this problem in older versions of Firefox - for some reason they kept appearing until I quit Firefox from the menu. First make sure that your start-up settings aren't set to load the previous session:
    * Tools (or menu [[Image: New Fx Menu]]) > Options > General
Then exit Firefox from the menu:
    * File > Exit, or [[Image: New Fx Menu]] > Exit Firefox (bottom right-most icon)
Start Firefox again and hopefully they won't pop up again until the next update. If your preferences are not getting saved, see if the article [[How to fix preferences that won't save]] can provide some more help on that.

  • Page break issue with subform AddInstance

I would like the table on page 4 of this form --- http://www.tahc.state.tx.us/10-09_TrichomoniasisEpiInvestigation.pdf --- to be allowed to break across a page if necessary. I want the button on that page to add another instance of the table at the top of the next available page.
I am clearly missing something about subforms and overflow because in LCD, this is a 5-page form. When it's opened in Acrobat, it's a 7-page form (the table displays on page 6) and and the table extends past the bottom of the page so that the button is not visible.
Any leads on how I can fix this? Thanks.

Thank you for the tip. Your fix is a big step in the right direction --- the form renders as it should but only if I don't enable usage rights for Reader. After usage rights are enabled, the page break problems reappear and the blank table runs off the bottom of the page. Do you know why this occurs? (I've reposted your fixed form with user rights enabled---http://www.tahc.state.tx.us/10-09_TrichomoniasisEpiInvestigation.pdf.) Thanks again.

  • Unable to modify text in lower section of a completed page in PAGES

I am unable now to edit text in the lower sixth of a page in a multipage Pages document.
If the cursor is activated higher up the page then moved downwards - letter by letter - using the > arrow key it is possible to achieve the objective.
The cursor will not appear in the lower sixth of the page just by clicking the mouse in the normal pattern.
Also, text within a "text box" now disappears as the box is moved into the lower sixth of a page! It reappears as the box is moved back up the page!
How do I sort these problems out? Earlier in the multipage project I was having no problems.

    Sheena
What version of Pages are you using?
What else is in the document? Tables? Or is this actually in a table?
It sounds like there is an object with Text Wrap on in the place where you are having problems:
    Menu > View > Show Layout/Invisibles

  • Horizontal scrolling to next article shows blank page

I've found a bug when scrolling horizontally between articles it will sometimes add a blank page to the adjacent article. This is remedied by scrolling up (which removes the blank page) but will reappear if I scroll back two articles and then forward two articles again.
Here are some images showing what I mean.

    I've seen this also.

  • Random page breaks striping  down my page. Anyone have a thought on a fix?

Ack! Randomly, some InDesign pages are filled with what look like page breaks that stripe through the page. Scrolling up and down sometimes removes them, sometimes reveals them as gray or white stripes. The footer keeps repeating or sometimes just a line of text. Can anyone please help me??

I have Windows 2010 on a PC and use CC2014.  When I scroll down through the pages of the document, the problems often disappear. But then, when I scroll back up, the page breaks, etc. reappear. I thought it might have been related to copying and pasting a Word doc so I removed the document and created a new Word doc which I placed into the ID doc. That seemed to help briefly, but then the problem came back. Sometimes it looks like the picture and sometimes it is almost like there is a separate layer of gray stripes that scrolls in front of my ID doc.  The other weird thing is that the problems keep changing...now I don't get repeating footers, but do get other repeating text. Thanks for any help!

  • Periodic "Glitch" at 1-Minute Intervals Using Firefox: Anyone Else?

    Greetings Everyone.
I have had this problem for quite some time, and after extensive trials at resolving it and attempting to get advice from many individuals, I've finally decided to post here, hoping someone can assist me in resolving it.
I get a "glitch" at regular 60-second intervals. This "glitch" manifests itself in many ways. For example, when using Firefox and I'm on my Google home page, I click on my "inbox" link and open my list of G-mail e-mails, after which time I can then check the boxes for each e-mail and then do a mass delete of the boxes checked. However, if I check any boxes (one or many), and wait for anywhere between 1 and 60 seconds, all of the check marks disappear (as if I hit "deselect all)! If I check mark them again, they disappear again within 60 seconds or less. This "glitch" appears to be occurring exactly at 60-second intervals. It also often causes web pages opened in Firefox to "jump scroll/page up" (usually in an upward direction) in the same manner (it's happened several times while typing this information here). It's as if someone hits a mouse key to inject a command every 60-seconds.
I have done numerous scans with Norton 360 anti-virus, Kaspersky anti-virus, iolo System Mechanic, and more...and the computer always comes up squeaky clean as far as viruses and spyware is concerned.
Yes, I've started Firefox in Safe Mode and it still happens. Yes, I've disabled Firefox add-ons in Safe Mode and it still happens.
I will note that this phenomenon even occurs on two other computers I have that are not connected in any way, one of which is new and has NO files copied from my primary computer and placed onto it. Yet, this happens even when I run Firefox on that netbook running Windows XP.
In some other programs such as MSWord, I often experience cursor jumps to another part of a page, a page jump up or down, etc. I am reasonably certain that this happens in other programs when Firefox is opened and running.
I have observed the running graphs under the "Performance" and "Networking" tabs in Windows Task Manager, and do spot a tiny spike that appears to be occurring every 60 seconds, but does not seem to occur if Firefox is not running.
Note: If I am on my Google home page using Firefox and I have nothing selected and the computer is idel, the entire page still "blinks" every 60 seconds, as if it is being refreshed. If I disconnect my LAN cable and thus kill my internet connection, my Google home page will, within 60 seconds, attempt to refresh itself and loose most all of its content. If I plug the cable back in and do nothing but wait, the Google home page content will reappear when the next "glitch" occurs.
This phenomenon does NOT happen with any other browser such as IE or Safari.
It's as if Firefox is constantly "polling" or "refreshing," but it also affects other programs that are opened when Firefox is running.
From all I can tell, this issue is caused by FIREFOX! I truly believe I've isolated it to Firefox, especially since it manifests itself when using Firefox on other computers I own.
Note that this does not appear to be doing any harm, but it can be a MAJOR pain when using MSWord or browsing the 'net with Firefox.
I have also tried disabling my computer's touchpad...still happens.
In short: there just must be ''something'' within the Firefox application that is inputting something at 60-second intervals.
It's been driving me nuts for over a year. I've searched the support areas and forum, but I have yet to find anyone describing a similar issue or suggesting a fix.
I would think that it would be easier to find the source of this phenomenon since it occurs at a regular interval, rather than randomly....but maybe not!
Can ANYONE provide me with any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Baffled Bobb

First of all, thanks again for your responses. BTW: I was unaware if I had marked the problem as solved. I don't recall doing so.
Are you running multiple AV or multiple Firewalls, are they causing the problem.
'''Well, that may e something to look at, but it is also happening on my other computer which definitely is not running multiple firewalls.'''
Are you able to identify the process.
if it is Firefox did you try Safe Mode with all plugins disabled ?
'''As mentioned above, I have run FFox in Safe Mode with plugins disabled on several occasions: no fix.'''
what happens if you try Firefox offline
'''As stated above, if I am off-line, FFox attempts to refresh itself and loses almost all content. If I reconnect the cable, the next "refreshing glitch" brings back all of the webpage content.'''
what happens if you open only a blank page in Firefox and nothing else (try about:blank )
'''Opening a blank page (BTW: tried it) is superfluous, because then there would really be no content upon which this problem would manifest itself.'''
Still searching for a solution! THANKS for the assistance thus far.

  • Theme 13, One Level Tabs and IE 7 Blues

    Hi all,
I'm using Theme 13 with many "one-level tabs" pages. Using IE6, everything works just fine.
Using IE7, if I hover over a control on a one-level tabs page (tabs, fields, checkboxes, the DHTML images that go with DHTML image list with sublist, etc.), the controls make a copy of themselves about a quarter-inch below their original spots.
Clicking a blank area on the page or refreshing the page temporarily clears up the situation on that page. But go to another tabbed page and the problem reappears. Come back to the original page and it reappears again. Essentially I have to click a blank area of every tabbed page to make the page work right.
Has anyone else seen this behavior? Any solutions?
    Thanks!!
    John

I have an update on this situation. Running it on IE v7.0.5730.11 on XP also works fine. The two machines I tried it on that are having the problem are both IE7 on Vista (I don't have the exact IE7 version but I'll get it). Also appears to work fine on Firefox (on XP...haven't tried FF on Vista - I'll have to get permission from the machine owners).
Hope this information is helpful in diagnosing what may be wrong.

  • TS3999 Is there a way to see the date you invited someone to an event on your calendar?

Is there a way to see the date you invited someone to an event on your calendar?

How are you getting to full screen mode? I assume you are using Full Screen mobile add-on?
    Try the following instead:
    * Download Firefox Beta (v22) from google play
    * Navigate to about:config
    * In the search bar look for "dynamic"
    * Toggle 'browser.chrome.dynamictoolbar' to 'true'
    * Close the tab
Now when using Firefox beta the navigation/loading bar will disappear automatically when you scroll down a page and will reappear when you click on a link.
Please note that this is an experimental feature so there may be some issues. But I think it works better than the add-on. The feature will eventually come to the standard release version of Firefox for Android.

  • How to disable vanishing of URL bar on scrolling?

In Firefox/Android Beta (not in the release version) the URL bar vanishes as soon as I scroll down a page. It reappears on scrolling up. How can I fix this? The bar should remain at its place in every situation.

    Found it myself:
in about:config, the value for "browser.chrome.dynamictoolbar" has to be set to "false". It defaults to "true".

  • Can't install App updates

I'm using an iPhone 3G which has been upgraded to 3.0 today. I'm attempting to update the apps I have, but it isn't working. Here's a play-by-play:
I go to "Updates". I press "update all apps". It takes me to the home screen where the apps appear to begin installing. Then a window pops up saying:
    "iTunes Terms & Conditions
    have changed.
"Before you can proceed you must
read & accept the new Terms &
    Conditions"
I press "OK". It brings up the white page with "loading" on it, but at the same time, it pops up a window identical to the last one. If I press "OK", the white page disappears and reappears, with the same pop-up reappearing. If I press "Cancel", it takes me to the Terms & Conditions. I attempt to tap "Agree", followed by a pop-up that reads, "You must accept terms & conditions to continue." I press OK, and it reads, "Thank you. Please try your purchases again." So I try pressing "update all apps" like I did in the first place, and everything that just happened happens all over again. It's a strange loophole that I can't outsmart. When I try emailing the terms & conditions, it just doesn't work. It sends the email, but I can't actually agree to the Terms & Conditions. I tried agreeing to them on iTunes, but they never came up. It leads me to believe that I already agreed to them but my iPhone "forgot" that I did.
    Please help!

    Hello,
I'm having the same problem with App updates on my iPhone - have accepted the T&C about 30 times, even with individual updates only, but I still can't download any updates.
I tried via my computer as well, but something is weird : next to "Applications" in iTunes, it says 6 updates (same as on the App Store icon on my iPhone). So far so good.
But when I click on "Updates Available" to download them via iTunes, I get to the My Applications page and it says "No updates available - check again later". It's as if I didn't have the same status on my phone and the computer, although I have "Sync all Apps" checked in the Applications tab in iTunes?
So no can do via the computer or the phone...
Anyone have an idea what might be wrong?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Server Monitor Buttons Missing

The Monitoring, Profiling and Memory Tracking buttons are all missing from the Server Monitor and it is not displaying any data. Where did they go? I'm on CF9/Multi-server and Windows Server 2008/64 bit. My CF server instances are running under a domain account so they can get to network shares. I'm using multiple jvm.config files to give some servers more memory than others. I've tried adding the domain account to the Administrators group, made sure monitoring, profiling and memory tracking are all enabled, and made sure the crossdomain.xml file is in the webroot.

Well, first briefly, I've seen this happen (the start/stop buttons don't appear), where simply refreshing the page made them reappear.
Assuming you've confirmed that doesn't solve it, here are some questions that may help us hone in on the problem:
    - does this happen on all the instances or just one?
    - you say you are on CF9. Do you mean 9 or 9.0.1?
    - Have you applied any hotfixes or cumulative hotfixes? (And I'd ask you to confirm that not from memory but from confirming by looking in the lib\updates directory. On Multiserver, that's \servers\cfusion\cfusion-ear\cfusion-war\WEB-INF\cfusion\lib\updates for the cfusion instance, or \servers\instancename\cfusion.ear\cfusion.war\WEB-INF\cfusion\lib\updates for any others (note change from - to . in the ear/war directory names).
    - Are the hotfixes there the right ones for the version you're running (not 900 in the filenames if you're running 9.01, or vice-versa)
    - When you say it's "not displaying any data", do you mean that the graphs on the front page are essentially blank? That would mean simply that "start monitoring" has not yet been enabled. When you say "no data", I'd want to make sure you don't mean that none of the screens show anything. There are many that show data even if there are none of the "start" buttons enabled, such as the Template Cache Status page (on the Statistics tab, in the "Request Statistics" section). Is that "displaying data"? Just trying to help clarify your situation.
Also, just as a workaround until you do solve this, note that if you're on 9.01, you can now at least turn the buttons on and off in the CF Admin, something that's gone under the radar for many, it seems.
    Hope that's helpful.

  • Ddebomb problem

This forum wouldn't let me post my Safari problem in the iPad community so here I am.  Sorry about this but this forum is becoming more impossible every time I need help.  Here's my problem.
I tried but failed to post this in the iPad discussion forum.  The Safari title bar disappears every time I scroll down the page on my new iPad Air 2.  Is there a fix for this.  I just can't see having to scroll upwards every time I need to go to the title bar.  By the way, the 'Search' took me to some 'answers' but they were unhelpful and were for using the Desktop, not the iPad.
I sure hope someone stumbles in here, I had to type a non-sensical summary of my problem so it wouldn't take me to Desktop answers again.  Thanks to anyone who can help here.  I sure hope there's a fix.

Oh no...that's what I expected.  You actually have to tap it downward a little for that to work.  I didn't want to have to do that because it'll make for about 100,000 extra strokes in the next year that I'd rather not  have to bother with.  How could Apple have possibly thought making the title bar disappear would help?  It gives no more space to the page at all...so it's just making us work harder for nothing.
Actually....yes, tapping the top of the page makes it reappear.  But that's an extra move I don't want and then my eyes have to readjust to that area.
Maybe on an iOS update they can fix it.  I consider it a bug.
    Thanks for your answer.

  • HP Color LaserJet CP3505 - Rollers

We have an HP Color LaserJet CP3505 printer in our office, which has recently begun leaving magenta coloured marks at intervals up the centre of every page that it prints.
I checked the roller film and found that it had the marks also, so I wiped them with a dry, lint free cloth.  When we sent a test print, the marks still appeared on the page and had reappeared on the roller film.
It would seem that one of the rollers that grips and feeds the page has rather a lot of magenta toner on it.  How do I go about accessing and cleaning this roller?

I had the same problem with black streaks and following HP's cleaning instructions repeatedly did no good. I also found no useful advice anywhere on the HP site, though I did find this unanswered query. Investigating inside the printer, I found that the photo drum in the black cartridge had corresponding streaks. (You can see it when the front door is half-open or if you pull out the cartridge and cautiously push open the cover between its holding lugs.) I doubt that the drum can be cleaned but replacing the cartridge cured the problem competely. I think HP's user support is truly dismal. If questions like this one arise repeatedly (at least twice on the present evidence!) and are not answered by someone from the company, a forum like this is pretty useless. I am reminded of the ineffective telephone 'support' that failed to explain how to set up my w2207h monitor. I took it 20 miles back to the store where I bought it (prepared to reject it) but got an immediate answer there.
