Page appearance questions
Hi,
I would appreciate some tips in how to format pages in my application.
Please refer to the "TestRequestSystem" application using the following credentials:

My questions, in order of importance:
1. On page 8, in the "Procedure" HTML region, I would like to move the "Cost Category" select list to the left. It looks like it is appearing after the "Specific Directions" text area, which is below it.
SOLVED: I was able to accomplish this by inserting a "start and stop table" between the two rows in drag & drop mode. I found inserting a "display as text" item and entering " ..." in the source value gave me the ability to change the spacing between items. I'm still interested in other spacing/placement techniques.
2. On page 3, I would like the report "Test Requestor List" to be moved to the left. Also, is it possible to move the buttons in the "Add / Edit Requestor Information" to the left as well?
SOLVED: The displayed section of the edit button page allows for moving the button using region template positions. Pointers to where I could learn more about how to define my own region templates would be appreciated.
3. On page 9, I would like to display the "Active" checkbox with nothing next to it (currently there is a label "." since I had to put something in the LOV).
SOLVED: I found adding this to the LOV definition did the trick: "STATIC2:;y" I created a static LOV and then deleted the display value (I was unable to create the LOV without entering it). I had read a thread that suggested using "LOV of STATIC:;y;" but that format did not work.
I've found general answers to these questions but feedback would be appreciated.

If I need to let someone into my workspace , or as is more often the case I need to get into someones workspace, it's usually on a one off basis, and I send guest login credentials over email not by posting on the forum. And then change or delete the guest credentials afterwards.
Not that people aren't trustworthy and especially the people on the forum of course ;) but I like to error on the side of caution. Plus once a solution is done you don't really want people in there
For better or worse that's why I only provide exports of my example application instead of letting people just get in there and export themselves, if's somethings broken I did it ;) not someone else in there muckin around.
I know other people don't have as much of a problem with it but that's just how I am

I have an iPhone 6 with IOS 8.1.3. When I go to the landscape view in Safari, the bookmark page appears and takes up one half of the screen. How can I get rid of the bookmark page so I can use the whole screen to what I am browsing?
OOPS! Too quick on the trigger to ask that question without trying anything. Sorry. Solved it by touching the bookmark icon.

I just upgrade to versions 18.0.1. I am suing Window 7 64 bit.
Now I while I am viewing a page I suddenly receive the error massage "Oops! This page appears broken. DNS Error - Server cannot be found."
I can use the back arrow key to bring the paper back.
If I have several tabs open, I can watch one tab after another change from the page name, It doesn't seem to matter who page it is, Yahoo, Washington Post, NBCNews,I am not a techie. I keep 15-20 to tabs open at a time for reference while working. When I upgraded to this version, all my tabs were closed and my history was erased. I still have not recovered from that loss. I do not want to have this repeated!
If I was using pdfforge extension (what ever that is) before the upgrade, why is it venomous now?
Besides this issue, since upgrading I suddenly starting having the audio from commercials being played from tabs that are not active (open). I now have to leave my audio muted.
I expected assistance from Firefox not some unknown individual ( iamjayakumars) who for all I know is a troll trying to get me to do something to expose my computer to attack.
I allowed Firefox to collect data they needed from my computer when I submitted the question.
Fix the bug in your program! I have used Firefox since it came out. I am within a hairs width of switching browser. The only thing holding me with Firefox is my bookmarks. If I figure out how to export them, I am gone.

A Firefox Help page appears for a moment, and is then wiped, in FF4RC
I go to the Firefox Help Page 'Viewing video in Firefox without a plugin', and the body content appears for a few moments (on my Vista laptop), and then disappears, leaving only the Title,the Contributors line, a block of white space, the nurse pussycat image and text block. The stuff on the RHS is OK.
I get the same on this w7 laptop, except I don't see the proper page at all (possibly because this laptop is quicker?).
On 3.6.15, on both laptops, the page appears correctly, I think.
I guess my question is can someone who knows how to submit a formal bug report on FF4 see if they can reproduce this, and if so, then please submit such a report?
Or you could maybe tell me what I'm doing wrong; though as it fails on two separate laptops in FF4, and works on both in FF3.6.15, I don't think I am doing anything wrong.
I've added troubleshooting info below, obediently, but I doubt it's needed...I'll make a note of that in the correct forum about specifically stating when an article doesn't apply to Firefox 4.0.

IOS8 old page appears in safari
IT is not a feature that random old page appears for a few seconds when i open safari before last page appears. Can you fix it please?
Many ISP's are serving pages from cached data. You should call your provider and ask them what to do to get a "fresh" page.
They may give you newer DNS locations that may help.
Meanwhile try adding a question mark (?) at the end of the URL:

Firefox 3.6.26 on Mac OSX, Youtube search window has vanished. I cannot search youtube for video. If I use Safari to open Youtube the page appears as it used to with Firefox--that is with the search window.Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

I cant find an app that should be on that should be on the app store, and when I click on the website (sky poker) and I click on "downland thee app on the app store" only a white page appear on app store.
Well, I went to a Sky Poker website and find it it seems to be something related to playing poker online and the currency is measured in pounds. I do not see anywhere on the website where it tells me that I can download an iPhone app, and when I search the App Store (US) I do not see a listing their either. You may need to send their support a question/email and ask if they have something in the app store and what the name of it is.

Running Windows XP service pack 3. Updated Firefox from 8.0 to 9.0. Now when Firefox opens "The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded" is displayed in a window and no home page appears. What's wrong?
That issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

I cannot log onto the App Store, the page appears when I call it from the dock or the Apple menu and I can call the log-in box from the menu bar, but on signing in the spinning icon just keeps spinning,(not the beachball). Using 10.6.7 and up-to-date on all software. Any suggestions?
Could be a third party app preventing you from being able to login.

Quit the MAS if it's open.
Open a Finder window. Select your Home folder in the Sidebar on the left then open the Library folder then the Caches folder.
Move the com.apple.appstore and the com.apple.storeagent files from the Caches folder to the Trash
From the same Library folder open the Preferences folder.
Move these files Preferences folder to the Trash: com.apple.appstore.plist and com.apple.storeagent.plist
Same Library folder open the Cookies folder. Move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
Relaunch the MAS. -
The second time when i print the report the page appear cut in the right

I created a report in Report Builder 6i. When i print the report appear well, but when i try to print the same report second time in the right of the page appears cut.
Why? What should I do to appear the entire page at the second print?
Thx.Flattening and merging are very similar. The main difference is merging keeps the transparent areas, whereas flattening removes all transparent areas by giving it a white background. A good example of flattening is a jpg image.
Since you have closed the file by closing photoshop, that means that the history is now gone, no way of undoing.
So that leaves you with two choices.
You can either recreate the whole document.
Or you can make selections of areas you are keeping and moving them one at a time to new layers. Keep each object on a separate layer. Then redo the area behind those objects. -
When I go to a web page, that page appears upper left, filling only half of my screen top and bottom. Each time I have to go to the menu bar View and go to full page. How can I get the web pages to display in the full screen automatically??? This just started happening.

Web page appears different when located on local server
I was editing a web page that is already up and running. Downloaded a copy to my local PC and everything was fine.
Copied all the code to my local Microsoft Windows 2003 server and now the pages appear wrong.
If the file is uploaded back to a website - it appears fine.
This only happens in IE to my knowledge.
My guess is that it is a setting in IE, but I do not know which one.
This is a screen shot showing the bottom of the first page. You can see part of the box is showing up below the bottom of the box which has rounded corners and a drop shadow.
Does anybody have any ideas?

We currently use Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 and it doesn't seem to be compatible with the latest version of Firefox (33). When I try to open a sharepoint page, only a blank page appears. I do not get any error messages. The sharepoint works with other browsers, such as Chrome.
Is there a work around available so that we may continue to use Firefox?

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Command+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
"3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* click the globe or padlock to the left of the address in the address bar > More Information > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
In case one of your extensions is involved, could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
* Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).

Firefox will no longer open completely. My home page appears, but I can't do anything with it--can't use "Help," can't search the Web, can't even use "Sign Out." I have to close it entirely to get out of it. A box comes up and says "Yahoo Mail is loading especially slowly" and tells me my computer speed is slow. But this is the same computer I've always used for Firefox, and Yahoo comes up quickly and completey through Internet Explorer (which is how I'm sending this message). Can anyone help me load Firefox so that it works? I even downloaded the latest version of Firefox, but it makes no difference. Thanks.
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) before reinstalling a fresh copy of Firefox.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.
You can also try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that works.
